PDGA Tour Insurance Policy

All PDGA-sanctioned events in the US and Canada are insured under the PDGA Tour insurance policy. There is a $50 non-refundable fee if requesting a Proof of Insurance Certificate.

This insurance covers:

  • PDGA staff, event volunteers, and registered players.  Spectators, vendors, or other parties not previously mentioned are not covered.
  • General Liability coverage maintained by the PDGA can include medical costs for injuries and property damage sustained on tournament grounds during sanctioned play and activities that directly support sanctioned play.  This can include player meetings, award ceremonies, or other activities required to properly run the competition.
  • The PDGA  Accidental Insurance policy coverage at sanctioned events is secondary to insurance coverage that the participants, events, and/or property owners may already carry.  That means it could reimburse deductibles and co-pays and any expenses not covered by the participant’s, event’s, and/or property owner’s primary policy.

Tournament Directors

When you sanction your event, there is a section of the sanctioning form where you can indicate that you need to purchase the Certificate of Insurance (COI).  There is an option to add up to 3 “Additional Insured” – so make sure to fill in the park, facility, or county name and physical address for each certificate that you will need.

If your park or city also requests an endorsement, please contact the PDGA office immediately since it can take 4-6 weeks to obtain one.

Filing a Claim

Contact the PDGA at [email protected] to begin the process.  Claimants will be asked to complete an insurance claim form that includes the following:  details about the injury or property damage and how it occurred, cost of medical treatment or repairs, and whether other insurance coverage was already in place that covers the reported incident.  The insurance adjuster then reviews the claim and awards the appropriate payout.
