The PDGA Board of Directors has approved a new point system to determine the annual Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year awards. The system is designed to award points based on tournament performance and will be easier for players and members to track. The system will be used for the 2012 tournament season for all North American players for the POY/ROY awards presented in 2013. PDGA Europe will use a similar system based on their events to determine their annual award winners.
The 2016 PDGA Player of the Year/Rookie of the Year calculations for Men and Women in North America are displayed below. Rookie of the Year contenders are highlighted in green. The calculations are based solely on 2016 PDGA Tour data submitted to the PDGA Office by the August 30th deadline for the September 20th ratings update.
