Memorial

The largest event on the PDGA National Tour is back and bigger than ever in 2014!  The Memorial Championship presented by Discraft is returning to Scottsdale and Fountain Hills, Arizona for its 26th year on February 26th – March 1st.

After 3 days of watching the best players in the world at the Steady Ed Memorial Masters Cup, I can tell you with confidence that DeLaveaga is truly one of the most challenging and brutal courses in the world, both mentally and physically. At the same time, it’s also one of the most awe-inspiring. Everything about DeLa  is so close to aesthetically perfect that it could and should be considered a work of art. It’s beauty is paired perfectly with its difficulty, and the combination brings out the best in those lucky enough to get to play it.

Another great day in Arizona as day two of The Memorial Championship started off with a bang. I had the pleasure of live tweeting both the womens and mens lead cards and the story of the day (and the tournament) has to be Paige Pierce.  She is now in the lead by 10 strokes after a stellar 1036 rated round on Wednesday and a 1015 rated round today.

The PDGA has been working on improvements to our live scoring system. The new and improved version is being launched in conjunction with The Memorial Championship. We will be conducting a beta test on Wednesday March 3rd as we follow the Featured Group of Avery Jenkins, Paul Ulibarri, Ken Climo, and Nikko Locastro.

This group will be teeing off at 1:46pm MST / 3:46 EST and we encourage you to join us for live hole by hole results. We have also added the ability to add photos and comments and will be bringing you updates as the action unfolds in beautiful Arizona. We will be covering other action during the week and encourage everyone to check for updates on the front page of PDGA.com.

The 2010 PDGA National Tour will tee off on  Wednesday March 3 in Fountain Hills, Arizona with the Memorial Championship. Tournament directors Dan and Sue Ginnelly along with the Arizona Disc Golf Club will host over 350 players from around the world for what has become one of the rites of spring in the disc golf world.
