The Professional Disc Golf Association is pleased to announce the selection of Andrew F. Sweeton of Skillman, New Jersey as the new PDGA Tour Manager.

Andrew will replace current tour manager, David Gentry, who will be moving to another position within the association. The selection was made as a result of an extensive search, which began in December 2010 where 130 candidates from both inside disc sports and from other fields were considered for the position. Mr. Sweeton will begin work on April 11, 2011 after his relocation to Georgia, and will be formally introduced as the new Tour Manager to the Board of Directors and members of the PDGA at the Disc Golf Hall of Fame Classic SuperTour event on April 30th at the PDGA International Disc Golf Center in Appling, Georgia.

Andrew has been playing disc golf for twenty years and joined the PDGA in 2002 as Member #21582.  He is best known in the disc golf community as a tournament director, supporter, promoter, and volunteer for the sport.  For the past six years, Andrew has been TD of one of the sports leading A-Tier SuperTour events (over $10K cash-added in 2010,) the Eric C. Yetter Champions Cup held at Tyler State Park in Newtown, PA.  He helped run the 2005 PDGA Pro Worlds in Allentown, Pennsylvania and has been President of the Bucks County Disc Golf Alliance since 2006.  Andrew is well known to many players as “Big Dog”, the volunteer who spends his vacations each year serving as a spotter on Hole 9 at the USDGC and Hole 18 at the Vibram Open.
