In the past two decades Disc Golf has grown exponentially. This exceptional sport has taken great steps towards new and improved media, gear, discs, and events. The National Players Challenge has begun with it’s new membership based event qualifying series and college scholarship program for graduating seniors. This year marks the first year of the National Players Challenge and if you haven't heard of it, it won't take long.

Here are just a few great benefits of the National Players Challenge.

1) All current NPC members receive a $2 discount at every NPC sanctioned event.

2) Every State has two qualifiers to host. Four spots are given out in each division to play in the NPC Championship. A last chance qualifier will be held November 12, 2011 in Hot Springs, Arkansas as a PDGA B-Tier. This event will give out five spots in each division.

3) The NPC is awarding a College Scholarship Fund. Each year, juniors from around the country will have an opportunity to jump start their college dreams with the NPC Scholarship. Requirements are at www.npctour.com. We are awarding a $500.00 scholarship to a graduating senior of 2012.  For every additional  $500 raised, we will award additional scholarships to juniors who wish to apply.

4. The player fee at each event is $2 and is divided up in three ways: Twenty five cents towards the NPC College Scholarship, twenty five cents towards the NPC website maintenance fee, $1.50 goes towards the NPC Championship May 26-27, 2012.

5. The NPC has affordable memberships with fantastic renewal packages for each player.

6. A professional staff dedicated to the players needs and wants.

7. The National Players Challenge website provides the player with direct information updated immediately for how much money is being added to the NPC Championship and NPC Scholarship Fund.

The NPC College Scholarship program has the potential to reach no limits on its journey to success. The youth of our sport will help disc golf stride to greatness. These young players are searching for an opportunity to have goals both short and long term. The decision to create a scholarship fund was easy and players can make a major goal to be the first player from their state to earn a college scholarship from disc golf.  We are confident any tournament director would want this to succeed. The National Players Challenge goal is to jump start these players with their college dreams.

The National Players Challenge Championship will be held at the two beautiful disc golf courses in Russellville, Arkansas on May 26-27, 2012. This will be a PDGA B-Tier event. If you are interested in hosting a qualifier in your state please contact the National Players Challenge for more details.
