The Bowling Green Amateur Championship kicked off today for its first ever Friday start. Approximately 500 amateurs from around the country drove to Bowling Green for some great fun and competition.

Five Advanced players competing in the top heavy "A" pool shot a 49 which was good for an unofficial round rating of 1003. Not far behind in the "B" pool was Nate Day of Hampshire, IL shooting a 996 rated 49 at Hobson Grove. The Intermediate players also demonstrated they have some serious golf skills as two players (Curtis Hake from Illinois and Scott Vaughn from Georgia) shot a 48 at Griffin park good for an unofficial rating of 981.
