You can't play Adv Masters! Even if you're below 955 all you can play is Adv Am, you're not allowed to drop to an age protected Am division.
I looked back at the rounds they used for my rating and they are still using rounds from Aug 08. My last ten rounds have averaged 956 but the oldest 10 rounds are at 933. Once those fall off, I should go to close to 960.

Read the little box in the righthand corner
"Pros rated <970 (less than) may compete in select amateur divisions at pdga events for which they qualify."
I'm over 40 and my rating is 969.
If I wanted to get a bunch of hell from everyone I could play Adv. Masters or Adv.
I think I will just go for a second win at the OO this year in Pro Masters.

That could get interesting if a team is out of it. It's easy to collect some doubles or "others" out there.

I wanted to give everyone a heads up on a Slow Motion Analysis project that I am working on for my CoolDaddySlickBreeze production called Disc Golf Motion. I have spoken with Brad and he has agreed to let me try it out at the Lodge Team Event. I am going to hold a drawing at that morning's player's meeting. I will draw 3 names.
Here is how it would work for the day of the Team Event:
In between rounds and/or after the last round is done I will have 2 HD cameras set up to record at 60i fps at a predetermined tee pad.
The winners can throw up to 5 times each. The winner will choose what type of throw. After each throw I will use a premade sheet to mark the spot where the disc landed, and what disc they threw and the player will have the option of writing any notes for that throw.
A receipt will be given to the winners that will have their contact information on it including Name, address, phone number, and email address.
Unfortunately this type of editing takes time so I will have to mail you the Slow Motion Footage on a CD or DVD (which ever works best for the winners).
If you would like your name in the drawing please email me at
[email protected] I will also give players a chance to enter the drawing that morning.
Click here to see examples of what the footage will look like. (http://www.discgolfmotion.com)

I need all teams to confirm the 4 members of your team and their ratings. I am not sure what is happening but for some reason people think they can show up with 4 people sat and play. The teams have to meet the 3700 rating and Karla, Dig or Hoi needs to be contacted by the 12th with the team info. There has been people that have tried to sign up the same player on two teams. Please make sure that all 4 members will be able to be there Sat. Thanks Karla

Three days till we get to the Lodge. The other 3 members of our Wichita Falls team have yet to experience the Lodge (the courses will be nice to first-timers right?).
Deb, the menu is looking good. Can't wait.
My wife is working on our team t-shirts.
Hoping to pull in around 2 p.m. Friday.
I'm not sure we have a perfect match for the Sunday Forest fun so we might need a couple of guys to match up and make two different 3-man teams.

... that each Team must have 1 player competing from each Tee color
... that any 950+ rating MUST be "Blue-Tee"
... that any 900-949 MUST be (at least) White-Tee ; (could step-up to Blue)
... that any 899-or-lower plays Red-Tee ; (could step-up to any tee)

Given the opprutiunity I would like to help run next years team event.
No Sammys, No mulligans
Just two rounds same as this year 2 partners on one course two on the other playing at the same time and switch at lunch, Zero confusion. No backup's if both courses are being played at the same time, also no Mini holes.
Finish by 5 and go home !!! Go back to original DW format !
also paypout would be 1,2,3 for A flight 1,2 for B flight and 1 for C flight

Nov 15 2009, 12:57 PM
Bryan if you ended up 2nd in the C flight, im sure you wouldnt want to change the payout scale.
I enjoyed the event, with the sammys and mini golf.
The only shortfall was the timing issue and 9 holes
Thanks for everything carla, dig, brad, and the taylors!

Nov 15 2009, 01:05 PM
i placed lkast year 2nd in the B pool. Did I feel like I deserved it, NO. Did I take the money, gladly ! I just think that the current format doesn't allow a huge comeback from any flight to be rewarded. If the flights were locked it might be a different story. Why get punished for a great round and why reward teams that are really in say 17th or 18. Maybe 1 team but not 2. I would even consider 1st 2nd 3rd for just and A and B flight.
I appreciate Brad John Carla and Everyone else who volunteered their time, but it just seemed like they might have been overwhelmed and tried to get a little to fancy with it.
It can be basic and fun !

Wow! I had huge fun this weekend. I wish everyone could have seen my drive on the new 8 on moc. Then T Duff sammy'd me and I turned around and did a repeat within inches of the first drive, cool. Deb's Island hole shot(s), way too cool. I am ready to go again.
Huge thank you's to Digger, Karla, Brad, John, Wayne and everybody else that helped make this a fun, fun weekend.
After the Red, white and blue round on sunday, we had a too cool bar crawl, 5 holer in the clubhouse, then a ring of fire at a mini basket using mini's. The fun just kept coming. Thanks again everybody who made this such a fun event for Deb and me. Thanks to Daryl Johnson for being such a tremendous supporter. This guy kept raising his own bid to ultimately pay $80 for one of Deb's homemade pies to raise money for the lodge. Thanks Daryl.

what a Great Weekend at The LODGE ! Saturday had challenging-play with Golf-Discs , AND : even-more-challenging-play with Mini-Marker-Discs some different twists were added as each Player had to dodge sammies as well wild-ness fer sure , because variety is the spice-of-life at least Saturdays weather stayed dry
.
 not so for Sunday
.
as the rainfall thinned out the field of possible Match-Play Teams ; we had to improvise a format for those die-hard, fun-luvin, disc-golfers who were willing to shoulder-up there Golf Bags for a round we did utilize those Red, White, and Blue tee-positions and merged those Teams into a fair contest winning your Sunday Round were two Teams in a tie for first-place :
Team B:
Matt Steward
Martin Norris
Kimble Johnson ( with his first-ever ACE on hole 1 )
Team E:
Chris Hatton
John Snake Skinn Lane
Carolyn McCarty
both Teams shot 103 to split the cash-payout of $150 Jim n Deb then had an indoor mini-marker Course set up with more-Cash-payouts ; and Kimble aced again ! then some indoor Rings-Of-Fire with a bunch-of-goodies to be won All-In-All : a cool wrap-up to a Cool Weekend

I would have to agree. There is no way Patton is rated at a 926 and their ringer of Brad at 850 is ludicrous. Patton, continually dodges the PDGA so that his rating stays where ever he wants it for what ever event. He should be around at least 950 and their 850 player was more like 900-925 and putted like he was 975. I'd say their real team rating was around 3800.
If ratings caps are going to be used, then a player should have some events, pdga or not, so that any recent scores can be used.
My team was right at 3700 maybe even shold have been a little over but we didn't play that well. Had a bunch of fun, which was all I was concerned about, that and trying to walk hole 3 in the dark.
Patton is the NEW Richard Mitchell........Just taller and slimmer.......but will stay advanced or Intermediate for life.

Nov 16 2009, 04:38 PM
Then show us who got paid what and how much was the ace pot?
9524
Nov 16 2009, 04:44 PM
1st got 440
2nd got 226
The extra 2 dollars went to the taylors
The ace pot was 630 which no one hit so it was thrown off for
not sure of the payout on that Brad handled that.
Is there anyother questions wise?
twoputtok
Nov 16 2009, 04:55 PM
Flighted 3 pools? So, a team that shoots 25 strokes worse gets paid more than the winner?????????? Seriously?
Oh well..................
twoputtok
Nov 16 2009, 05:04 PM
Okay, so
440
226
666 x 3(flights)= 1998 (I get the $2 part)
Ace pot
$630 / 80 players = 7.87 per player
Entry
$25 x 80 player = 2000
$12.50 x 80 players = 1000 - 630 ace pot = 370 (was this the fundraiser portion?)
I understand possibly using 3 flights to pay deeper but you still paid the same percentage of the field, 6 out of 20. But the bottom flight should never get as much as the second and second shouldn't get as much as first. I just feel 1st should get more than anyone else. IMO(not that it matters)
9524
Nov 16 2009, 05:05 PM
Not everyone paid into the ace pot that is why it was 630. Do you want to see the books? I can meet you to go over everything.
twoputtok
Nov 16 2009, 05:14 PM
No, I was just asking. When I got there I was told it was $25 and $12.50 for my mulligans and ace pot, so thats the amount I went from. I was just asking if that was the fund raiser amount? if they raised money, then great.;)
I can already see you all balled up in the corner ready to come out like a munchkin on crack, so just grab a mother's little helper and calm down.
Please.
I said I had fun and thats what I came up there for. I was just suprised to hear it went three flights deep, no big deal but I was shocked to hear last place flight got more than first place flight.
I thank you and everyone else for taking the time to run the event but as a player that left right after the event (sorry I had to hurry to make midnight mass) and hadn't see anything, I had to ask to make sure I was being told correctly, thats why I asked here. I knew you would give the right numbers.
9524
Nov 16 2009, 05:34 PM
All three flights was paid the exact same amount. I am not sure why you was told last flight got the most. I know for a fact they was the same amount for all 3 first and all 3 second places. I am not upset for the questions just trying to clear things up.
As far as the format or anything to do with play Brad and Steve took care of that and I did the books.
Ace pot and Mullies was optional. The mullie money went to the taylors.
It was posted prior to the event that there would be 3 flights of payout( not my doing)
I do however think the td's did a good job running this. Yes things was not as smooth as they could have been but I had fun working with them. I think most players did too.

I needed to shave at least 5 strokes off my 20 big at Moccasin Creek. Stupid mini holes. I feel like I let my team down in the first rd. but Dang we came back with a vengence in the second. Proud of team ALL HYPE went from 3rd in b flight to 3rd overall. Conners and i had 8/9 on the final 9 and Gary & Wayne with 6/9. Good shootin boy's !

... here's a 'bump' forward to Front Page ... a timely one , also ... this Thread is from the Lodge Teams Events , 2008 and 2009 ... you can roll through the messages and posts at your leisure ... or just catch the details and highlights ... ( the 2008 inaugural Event crafted by Dave Wise runs through the middle-of-page 31 ) ... or latch into the last 3 or 4 pages of thread-talk ... ( the second annual in 2009 was thanks to the efforts of Steve "Dig" King and Brad HOI ) ... Good Stuff ... prepare for more ...
