Distance Qualifiers were held last night as well, taking over one of the ball golf holes at the far end of Winthrop University all the big arms showed up to prove their metal. Despite a bit of a headwind Avery Jenkins set the bar at approximatly 535′, while the other 5 qualifiers (Espen Mokkelgjerd, Garrett Gurthie, David Ludington, Ron Turner, Steve Brinster) all were up around 500′.

Well said John.
For all of you that haven't been here, you have absolutely no idea.
First and fore most, not that it is any of your business, but that spot was offered to Nolan, and not because he has a chance to win. It was offered to Nolan because he is growing up, and handling his business. In the process of doing that he has not had all the opportunity to qualify that he would have liked or deserved. One of the things that he did in the process was probably the most grown up thing I have seen him do and that is to call me and let me know that he couldn't make the trip due to his responsibilities.
As for the rest of the questions, the first one should be are you committed to getting here? If the answer is yes then go the distance and Qualify. If the answer is no you will be right where you are this time next year. If you think that you know from that seat you are sadly mistaken, because you can't even begin to understand until you get here.
Those of you that are questioning the selection of Jeff Davis to play in this event based on his qualification or ability to win, don't do the things that he has done that make him very deserving of the spot.
This is not like any other event you have ever attended, you don't just get to run over here, stand in line, and sign up on Tuesday for the event that begins on Wednesday. If you think you are worthy and you aren't here, then you better get a bigger shovel and start digging for next year. If you qualify and you have a problem with paying your entry fee within the 30 day period, then you don't deserve to be here. You should take what ever you have that is worth anything to the pawn shop if you have to to pay the entry fee....unless you are not committed to being here......then you will be there......where ever you are right now.....watching from a distance.....you aren't even on the sidelines right now.

Hey radio guys, what holes have changed from last year?
I can answer this...
3 the OB is alittle bigger, however all OB's off the tee re-tee.
10 has an island green instead of IB the entire way.
12 OB is tighter
13 (888) basket is back across the island
15 totally new hole - no triple mando
17 - green is smaller, firs tmiss is retee, next miss is about a 50 foot putt
18 - opening cut behind pin

11 is a scary green - the entire area around the pin is a huge sloap down to where Deano just went OB. Most righties hyzer and get a big flare off the hill. There is a flat area at the bottom that gives you about a 50 foot uphill putt.

alrigty....on to hole 12
players can really crush thier tee shot - hard to reach the OB as the OB is on an upslope.
This hole is reachable in 2, but it requires a shot over a lot of OB for the second shot. There is a big slope the basket sits right above.
The ideal way to play this hole is a big power drive, then a controlled hyzer about 70 feet left of the pin
Simple upshot under it for an easy 4.

Guys,
You sound good on the Web cast. Please consider re-introducing yourself a couple times in the half-hour, so that new listeners know who you are.
Also, how about some of the extra-curriculars going on after players' rounds! That would help fill some of the time too.
Finally, is there a way to interview some of the players who have finished? That would be an awesome addition to let us listeners know how the course is playing!
Wow! What a fantastic production though! the streaming audio and live shot-by-shot is incredible!

so much for the safe hyzer
I'm the first to admit when I'm wrong.
Amazing shots by these guys. Def a risk reward. It's such an easy 4, risking OB and a 6 is the risk and the reward is a 3.
This was one of my favorite holes on the course.

Looks like it will take a 52 today to break over the magic 1100 threshold (-16). A 53 would be about 1099 so far. That would be the best rated round ever for courses with SSA over 65. In fact, it looks like "just" a 54 (-14) would top Kenny's 1092 at Hippo.

Course records for each year.
Since there have been different layouts you can't compare the scores unless the layout was the same.
<table border="1"><tr><td>Year</td><td>Player</td><td>Round</td><td>Score</td><td>To Par</td><td>Comments
</td></tr><tr><td>2001</td><td>Barry Schultz</td><td>1 & 2</td><td>58</td><td>-10</td><td>Original course
</td></tr><tr><td>2002</td><td>Brad Hammock</td><td>4</td><td>56</td><td>-12</td><td>Birdied holes 1-9, 12, 15-18, and he bogied 11 & 14
</td></tr><tr><td>2003</td><td>Ken Climo</td><td>2</td><td>57</td><td>-11</td><td>10,064 ft layout
</td></tr><tr><td>2004</td><td>Ken Climo</td><td>1</td><td>56</td><td>-12</td><td>Birdied holes 1, 3, 4, 6, 8-11, 13, 16-18
</td></tr><tr><td>2005</td><td>Markus Kallstrom</td><td>4</td><td>56</td><td>-12</td><td>1 eagles (12), 11 birdies (1-3, 5-7, 10-11, 15-17), 1 bogie (13)
</td></tr><tr><td>2006</td><td>Josh Anthon</td><td>1</td><td>57</td><td>-11</td><td>1 eagle, 11 birdies, 2 bogies
