seriously, you dont have to qualify for the event. if you want to play, you can pay 1,000 dollars and do so.
Pizza God
Oct 10 2006, 07:31 PM
exactly, Texas (well the LSDGA, {well actually Gary Duke}) sponsored last year and we had 2 spots. (or was that the year before?)
BTW, this is common at PGA tournaments. If a sponsor wants a player in the tournament, they can have them, even if they didn't pass the qualifier.
Hence, why you have seen a few women in PGA tournaments lately. They were sponsored.

Seems there was another 16-year old a couple of years back---Aaron Wild, or something like that?---who played and did fairly well. Coral (14) just missed qualifying at the Charlotte Open due to some odd circumstances, and would seem to have a good shot at next year's USDGC.

Mark Stubbs is in Michigan. Mark Stubbs couldn't find a sponsor, sell enough cars, get his repaired, pay his bills, and have enough money to get to the usdgc.
Looks like I"ve got a goal to qualify next year.
Thanks to Innova and ZoneDriven for the opportunity. Just not enough time to raise the funds. Good luck Larry LaBond and Steve Mills. Go get'em
:( :( :( :( :(
Sucks for him to qualify, but not be able to make it. Maybe he should have given his spot up to someone who could have made it there???

On hole 11: From the caddie book, the green slants from right to left, with a very tight OB rope on both sides. I don't know what the slant is like on that green is like, but a 430 rip will still leave you over 300 short, and it looks like you've really got to get your 2nd to stop as soon as it hits. I'd imagine more people are shooting over the pin, where there's tons of room, then laying back up for a 4.

Looks like 67 according to the hole by hole break down, not 77. Unless he got stroked 10 strokes for something at the end...but having played many rounds with him, it wouldn't be for courtesy violations, he's a solid golfer with a solid head game.

The players turn their scorecards in at the official scoring office adjacent to the 18th hole where Dave Gentry checks the math and immediately posts the results at PDGA.com. The scorecards are then sent to the USDGC office so holes 13 through 18 can be keyed in for the USDGC site.
PDGA.com will show you final round scores faster. The USDGC site will give you more detailed information.

Full Tilt golf....Kallstrom recovery? 12 time world champ at -1. Kinda fun the mix up this course creates. You have to wonder how Jonny McCray deuced hole 8?
I gotta rally for my hometown kid Cory Sharp, he's got the game, if he can keep his head together...I am very envious and I too have not been productive. Jones'n so much I gotta go play some holes to get it out of my system.. I'll just pretend I have all that rope.
