Any idea when the results from the VA march tournaments (Loriella Challenge and the Sherando Spring break out) will be updated on the tournament results for the pdga?

to all of you young fathers and fathers to be:
they are so great when they are young. even with their little pestering! then they grow into teenagers (i have 3: 13g;16b;19g) that is when they are OH so much smarter than we are and have a mind of their own. so teach them well while they are small (lots of love and hugs) and keep your fingers crossed when they start thinking for themselfs! it can be a roller coaster ride

John:
For the VA usdgc qualifying tournament (july 17th/18th)...will there be an extra fee for the people trying to qualify?
I think that is what we did last year, but I forget. If the tournament was $20, and then an extra $20 to attempt to qualify (with the va winner getting all that extra money to use for the usdgc)...is that the way it is going to work?
can someone who has already qualified or exempt from qualifying come and win that extra money too or will that solely be for the top VA score to use to pay for (or some of) the usdgc entry fee?

GRANGE WORK DAY!! Saturday, May 15th. We'll get started early (between 8 and 9AM), break for lunch (which will be provided to all of you hard workers), then have a friendly round in the afternoon. No stipulations! Anybody that can lend a hand will be greatly appreciated.
BONUS!! Come down on Friday night for a rabble-rousing round of Glo, video games, swimming pools and movie stars. (OK, so there won't REALLY be movie stars- but everything else is true!!)
There are also tentative plans to go to Pleasant Run on Sunday, pending permission from Biscoe. Same thing- we'd work early, put on lunch for y'all, then play in the afternoon. I will know in the next day or two if Pleasant Run is a go- stay tuned!
Either way- C'mon down, and build yourself some positive karma, which you will need for Two Days/Three Days/Four Days in May!! ;) :D

as if 4 weren't enough, there will actually be opportunities for tournament golf in spotsy 5 straight days. you can start with the loriella sumer league thursday at 6:00. friday the 28th we will be holding a ONE AND DONE AT THE RUN at 3:00 at pleasant run (pros $20, ams $10). va doubles the 29th, two days the 30th/31st.
as for the usdgc qualifier players wishing to qualify will pay an extra $10 for the 2 days. that $ will go to defray expenses to usdgc for the player finishing the highest in the events. players already qualified are eligible to pay the $10 and play for the entry fee help. the qualifying spot would then go to the next person in line with no financial help. this is the same as previous years.
terry- when are you moving back?

Turner/Pitts -- Team "Throw a Roc Through a Brick Wall"
JG/Trapasso -- Team "I'm going to lay here for a while"

Zilla, I was on the way to the disc golf course. I leave work at 4:30. And I never lurk. Give me something to post about and you can be sure that I will.
We have 42 Ams who are pre registered for Two Days at this point. There is still a good chance of people signing up and filling. Do not send me a check at this point. E-Mail me only and I will reserve a spot. Doubles is first come, first serve. We have had as many as 52 teams in the past. Be smart and arrive early. Both Pros and Ams will start at The Grange. 10AM Tee.

greens have all been weedwhacked, walking paths ditto, fairways have all been mowed with bushhog. will be going back to clean up the accessible fairways with the tractor and mower tomorrow p.m. can't get to #5 and #7 with anything but the big equipment so they will not be manicured. pat pitts bovine fan club will likely be in attendance unless i am lucky enough to catch them on the other side and shut the gate. i would give it a 7 out of 10. have dwight throw them all in the basket and you'll be fine. extremely bad shots may find high grass.

unnecessary jump putts are silly and make me laugh
I concur :D You are silly and make me laugh. BTW, when is a jump putt 'necessary?'
Chris Hysell
May 27 2004, 08:46 AM
Whorley, whorley, I feel as though I am being baited. My statement about the jump putts was to make those inferior jump putter's feel like they have skillz. I don't jump putt. I follow through on my long putts but it isn't a jump. Those are usually in the 150ft range or uphill putts.
whorley
May 27 2004, 10:35 AM
I'm not baiting you. You said "unnecessary jump putts," so that made me wonder when one was necessary. Answer the question... C'mon, I'm trying to help raise your post count.
Chris Hysell
May 27 2004, 11:02 AM
Well there was this one time. I was putting the beat down on my friends in the backyard in a friendly game of D-I-S-C. Being the nice guy that I am, I wasn't making any stipulations on style of putting. I was just throwing them in from about 70ft. I allowed my buddies to use their silly jump putts. When it got down to the final two of us, the little guy decided that he would call "jump putt" every time he putted, even on short putts(25ft). Pure sillyness. I've got skillz and was able to overcome that nonsense.
I guess my answer is that a jump putt is necessary in silly little backyard games when 1000+ rated players are making every attempt they can to beat me at putting games. Of course when it comes to putting, my rating is about 2000.

You and taking people to your cabin... Are you going to be the J. Dahmer of disc golf?
Off topic, I had a disc golf mid-life crisis a couple of weeks ago at Appomattox when I missed numerous 20-40 footers by wide margins. The next day I went back to my old style grip and old putter (P&A). The results were instantaneously positive. I guess sometimes you have to hit rock bottom (and I mean rock [*****] bottom) before you can regain your confidence.

Someone may be able to help you. Here's my best shot.
Gentlemen, start your engines. Drive out of the driveway and turn left onto Blockhouse rd. Turn left at the light onto 208. Follow 208(be sure to go left at Post Oak) until you see a big white house that is the real estate company that Lewis Graninger works for. Turn right there(it may say Lawyers Rd or Lake Anna Park). Follow that road until the end. Turn left and John's course will be on your left just a few hundred feet ahead.
I hope this is close.

May 28 2004, 10:06 AM
I found it on the Calvert message board. Here it is , just in case anyone else needs it.
for all you earlybirds there is also the One and Done at Pleasant Run on Friday at 3:00. Pros $20, ams $10. 8008 feet of beefy golf. elevation galore, lots of chances to find pleasant run and the pat pitts bovine fan club. (although there is a chance the club may be on sabbatical)
to pleasant run from the north:
95s to rt 3 west (Culpeper)
1. rt 3 west 8-10 miles to left on 621
2. 621 west over 9.8 miles to left on 608 (there will be a store on right
hand side)
3. just short of 2.3 miles take a right onto 601 (There is no sign coming
in that direction Just go slow around 2.2 mi and Keep your eyes open for a
road that has no sign. You will see the sign facing the other direction for
#601 as you make the turn. )
4. over 2 miles (You will pass Wolf Mountain Farms on the way) take a right
on 652 (belmont rd)
5. 1 1/2 miles- There will be a church on left side (2 driveways)
next driveway on left has mailbox reading towsey turn here.

PP- those directions from the Calvert Bored are if you are coming from Fredericksburg, if you are actually coming from the Grange...
left out of the driveway, left at the stoplight on 606. 606 will join 208, follow 208 when they diverge (turn left)
follow signs for lake anna state park to right on 601 (lawyers rd)
6-7 miles to left at stopsign on 652.
first driveway after church- mailbox says Towsey.
Or, meet me at the Grange at 2:00 and you can follow me! :D

ALRIGHT!!!!! I called out all the Advanced Masters for "2 Days in May" It was a hudge struggle, but I came from 4 down to tie for the lead and then WIN on the second playoff hole.
I am now ready to do WAR on the "BATTLEFIELD"!
I am again calling out all Advanced Masters to come to the "Battlefield Open" As of now I am the only one resistered. Please everyone; lets fill the Battlefield Open. Great tournament, plenty of prizes, and a raffle for a basket. Besides; if there are no advanced masters other than myself. I am going to play Open Masters. I do have some open masters I call friends and as bad as I play; I do not want to slow them down and lose them as friends.

I can come to your event but you can't come to mine. That doesn't seem fair.

Was it from the imminent smell? Were they confused to hear the echoes of what seemed to be the soft crooning of Jim Neighbors? Did they pass beneath the 'banjo man' on their long journey down your driveway? Why did you scare away those nice North Carolinians Chris, WHY?
I will not be able to post Two Days scores for a couple of weeks. I have been too busy this week with work and this weekend I leave for Hawaii and LA. Be back mid-June. Tony could post though............

I always said if I ever got my first PDGA Int. win I would move up. I had already res. Int for Sherando before I won the Loriella event. I will not be at the Ho Down but will be at the Shag. Chris suggested I play AM Masters. Does not seem to be that big of a field here in VA.
I guess I really need to thank John Roy for my win at "2 Days" He played Adv. and kicked my buttocks!

It's getting closer and closer to the Battlefield Open. I have gotten so many phone calls that I plan on being out at the course around 8:00 on Saturday morning. I suggest people show up early to make registration go smoother. One thing I have noticed is that this year may have the biggest local attendance ever. We had a great showing last weekend at 2 Days and expect our locals to step up for this one.
I haven't gotten much reponse from Open men this year. We typically pay nearly half the field and give away good money for 1st place. Don't be surprised if some eligible Open players move into the bigger Masters field.
The raffle. I have recently added some Glow CE TLs donated by Rhett Stroh. There are nearly 300 tickets sold and I expect another 100-150 by Sunday afternoon. That's more added cash.
I hope to see you guys out there.
BoFa will be there in full effect biatches!

It's about you being scared to show up in Richmond. DanG would probably give you a room to yourself if you weren't so scared.
LOL!!! Let the names fly!! You should of offered me floor space! I always offer my home for you to stay! Punk! I am going to Williamston to play Farm Life. Sorry. Not really.
To many OHO friends to say no to. I just couldnt do it. I know you will understand. One of these days I am going to play in a Hysell brand event in VA. Looked at your pre-reg list as of today. What's the deal with that? No Open players? You will have a better time without me anyway. You dont even like me.

True that. Maybe you could get a win in Va.
Chris Hysell
Jun 03 2004, 11:55 AM
Because if the Open field is small, LL may play Masters.
I meant why is the turn out of Open player so low? Why havent more VA players signed up already? Must want to make the TD's life a little more hectic on Saturday morning. Maybe try to throw him off his game? GL to yah.Two in a row??

Jun 03 2004, 12:17 PM
My thoughts.
Open turnout is low because it's hard for players to do two events in a row. Choices had to be made. Who cares? Those guys are too demanding anyway.

Just wanted to thank Ted, Mike and Jenny, and all that helped out with 2 days. I had a blast, and am not sorry that I came even with a possible hefty fine for speeding to get there on time.
I'm really stoked that I got to meet and play 2 rounds of fun golf with the 'other' or 'fake-***' Steve Johnson. Glad to see my name is well-represented in the Delaware area. He is a great guy.
Hope to see all of you soon enough.

A big congrats to my main man Greg Clemons pulling it out last week at The Grange. His first of many advanced amatuer wins I believe. The rumor is that having Whorley caddying the last hole gave him the extra arm stregnth needed to finish the deal. See you guys at B.R.O. this summer.

It was a rumor. I saw it and don't remember Vince being there. It was actually because Paco slipped and threw a bad tee shot and bogeyed.
