Question for all you disc experts....I just bought an X-out in ce or proline plastic labeled with an "LS" It looks like a leopard stingray hybrid. Can anyone verify if this is what it is? Also, are these rare discs? Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Steve, Polaris LS. X-outs are blemished discs, so in that sense, they're rare but they're not particularly valuable.

I just came upon a disc (Wham-o) from the very first Worlds.. New in mint and never thrown... Does anyone have any idea what this is worth????

Steve, X-Outs are slightly uncommon. There was a run of CE/Proline/Millennium blend of plastic. Probably at the same time the Eagles & T-Birds, etc had same blend or close. Like most plastic blends that change, there will be a group of people that prefer, search out, & covet that run. So it will increase in value if you store it in a zip-lock, or you can throw it & enjoy it. Millennium counterparts have been discussed alot in other threads. Mostly speculation. The LS could be kin to a leopard top(maybe a T-Bird), not a Leopard bottom. I don't think it shares a bottom with another disc. Can not be kin to Stingray because it is a larger diameter than the LS.

LS is quite a bit older that the Leopards and Teebirds, i belive the 1.10 run of the LS was out when the Leopard and TBird came out. Now one of the whamo voyagers is the same mold as the LS and the new Innova ace is a DX plastic JLS available in only 165.

I should have said the leopard could be kin to the LS (in that order). The Voyager is an LS in DX clothing. I understand the V2 is a LF. That's cool about the Ace. Plastic is Fun.

Because of the number of E-mails I've gotten I figured it would be easier to post what I've got.
20 CE Sharks in weights from 177 - 180 - colors are blue, red and green.

10 CE Teebirds TL's - the last run in the 173 to 175 weight range - colors vary.

4 CE Rhynos - all around 170 - 1 light orange and the other 3 are a light pinkish color.

JK Valkyries in any color from 150 up to 175.

Proto Valkyries in the 168 - 175 weight range - colors are yellow and white with the proto bar stamp. I've got alot of these.

Secondly if you know anything about the discs they are extremely rare. Note one is clear and one is red. Just ask the dozen people that have emailed me willing to pay over $100 a piece.

Until I read the end of your post my answer was yes. I have 10 2001 regs, 6 2001 x-outs, 8 2002, and 8 2003 most of which are at 180 and just wanted to trade not get pilfered! Asswood.

Seriously, if you're selling, or trading for that matter, these 2001 CE Rocs for $30 or the equivalent value, then good for you. The point I was trying to make was that whether you like it or not, and you obviously don't, the value of these things is currently over $100. No one was trying to "pilfer" you. And the two that Chris has are probably worth a good deal more than that, due to their rarity.

IMO the only signature that seems to have any immediate impact on value of discs sold these days is that of the big man himself, Steady Ed. The disc is still worth a fortune because of what it is, but as great as Barry is, his name would not add much if any value. Again IMO.

Seems like Climo signatures raise the price a little on Ebay as well.

Neither signature should, becasue it devalues the disc in a way...no one wants to throw them after they have been signed by the Champ.

I don't think I have seen a X-Talon WITH patent info stamped into the rim/plate.

I am looking at some X talons with and without the patent number. I assume the ones without number are first runs. I may be mistaken though.

No info on the bottom anywhere from Discraft is either a first or second run. I'd definitely hold onto at least one of each. I've seen a lot of the Talon's but not too many Wasp's like that.

Pricing individually is kind of high. Serious inquiry for the whole lot. And be realisitic please.

ADAM L some of these discs may seem high to you, but i will bet you that over 65% of todays discgolfers have never even seen these discs, nor have even thrown these, for some of these discs, there are only 10 in the whole world, these prices are set at what i have sold these for already or what i have seen them go for on ebay,
example, if a disc sells on ebay for $30-35, for regular issue and i have a rarer one which is a color sample that never went out to the public, don't you think it is worth a bit more? especially if there are only 10 in the world.

You are talking about discs that originally went for $4 to $6 apiece now priced at a 3000% markup?

It's like trading in baseball cards or anything else. Sure an item may be worth $xxx but trying to get someone to actually pay that is next to impossible. Thats why they have a buy price and sell price. Buy price is what anyone that deals in the merchandise will offer you and sell price is the inflated price that they try and charge in hope of making a 100% profit. But you never pay the sell price because it's too high. You deal.

You obviously have a reason for wanting to sell them. If it's just to make room and move on with your life then there have been reasonable offers made. If it's to share your collection with the world then the pricing is still high compared to our most reliable market indicator, e-bay. If you do need the money then contact me and we can work something out. If not best of luck to you in selling these.

What's the interest like for X-wasp's and X-comet's?

I have sold tons of sweet plastic for just a little ( very little ) profit. Here are a few personal thoughts on the subject for anyone it may help; Discs are fun. Cool old or rare discs are a hot item. There is a lot of history to learn and enjoy. Ebay prices are way higher than the above-average disc buyer pays. When 6-10 Pups or Rocs flood ebay in 1 week the price goes down. Boxes of discs and protecting them get to be a hassle. If you want to auction it, do it. If you want to sell it, put a price on it. Are discs made to throw? I think so, but it is also nice to visit a friend and see a mint Ontario Roc or S Pup on the wall. It does get frustrating when you can't get enough of your favorite disc to throw or when you can't get one CE Roc to hang. I would like to thank all of the cool people that have sold and traded Sweet discs to me for cool deal. It's Fun, Thank You!

the only candy rhynos that have been made were CE Rhynos made last year as fund-raiser discs. There haven't been any Pro/Champion candy Rhynos produced.

There is a "Pro" Rhyno, but it is made out of a soft, grippy, flexible DX type plastic that flies well but gets eaten up quickly by rocks and trees.

However, I've got a few CE Rhynos from last year's fundraiser that I can offer you--I sent details via email.

-Mint patent pending Aero. One of the very first discs made by Innova. This disc has lived it's entire life inside a box wrapped in plastic.

-Mint Dynamic Disc co. "Greatful Dead" dimple disc still in the original cardboard and platic packaging.

OK Terry I may be able to help. Do you have an idea of what weights you're looking for? Let me know that and I'll see what I've got stashed away.

As for the $85 purple double stamped......This sport is becoming somewhat like the baseball card market. And you never know what the future brings. That $85 disc that you buy today may be worth 10X as much a few years down the road if we ever hit the big time. Plus it's always a matter of what someone is willing to pay for something. The prices I listed above were for items that usually sell at a higher price. I cut the prices to move the product and recoup my money. Not trying to rip someone off.

i have for trade a yellow wham-o frisbee horseshoe game disc from way way back. on the top it reads "wham-o frisbee horseshoe game" and on the bottom it tells how throw it in different flight patterns. it is in near mint condition. i also have a 172g never thrown 1st run CE leopard, it is the dark red first run plastic with a rainbow stamp, along with a 172g black CE leopard with a red foil stamp, it is also in new unthrown condition. if you are interested in any of these discs, or photos of them send me an email at paul_hanger@yahoo.com
