No. All my Orcs are milky, and they're definitely not Night Shifts. Believe me when I say, once you've handled a Night Shift, you'll never confuse it with any other Orc. Brian Schweberger walked off and left his Night Shift Orc on hole #1 between rounds at Sneeky Pete last year :eek:, where I found it. :D Took me all of half a second to figure out what it was after I picked it up: soft, grippy opaque blue plastic, just like the Special Blend '05 Rocs. I'm still kicking myself for returning it instead of making a beeline for my car and leaving. (I was just spectating, so it's not like my absence would have been noticed.) Could've been half way home to Durham by the time he discovered it was missing. :o:D

That would have been some bad karma.

DGT, I am not sure how many we stamped. I would guess about 4000. The Sidewinder will have it's own stamp.



No indication whether or not all first were mini star stamped. It is rather curious that regular stamps were available within days of the Sidewinder's release, though. Hard to imagine they'd go through all 4000 and pump out a second run that quickly, especially since PIAS in Raleigh didn't get SWs until mid-Jan, and half of them were mini star stamped.

I thought that Dave said on another post that they reserve use of the small star stamp to signify first runs... that would pretty much imply that the star stamped ones were the first runs...

also, by stating that the sidewinders wouldn't have the star stamp and that they'd have their own regular champion stamp, that would pretty much mean that the regular champion stamped ones were later runs...

It means that the fact that you had a star-stamped first run a few weeks before the regular stamped ones were (widely) available neither proves nor disproves that all first runs were mini star stamped, which was the point of the two immediately preceding responses.

BTW, a minor, albeit important, correction: the Star stamp is currently reserved for first runs; however, it appeared regularly on the Aero (original) and the Classic Aero.

actually the page depends on what you have your preferences set -- it's only page 262 if you have 10 per page (the default). Are you talking FL or strait F?

Any one else having trouble reading these long threaded posts??? I can't get the most recent messages from a lot of these. Ask Dave D, Trader's Row etc. Would starting a new thread make this problem go away? Of course, I probably won't be able to read any responces but I'm curious if others are having the same problem. correct me if i am wrong, but didn't Dave D say that FX and F are the same thing?

FL mold was the 1st and 2nd run.
FX was the 3rd and halfway through the 4th run at which time they abandoned the X and were just labeled F from there on out.

MF stands for Mid-range Fade. That includes the aurora and sentinel, but I assume you want the aurora since that is what you stated first. :D

I might have an Xout Nightshift orc in my possession soon. My friend ordered some discs in order to complete a trade(I gave him a 2002 CE Roc and a SuperRoc for 6 Champion discs), and he says that one of the disc's plastic feels like the SB plastic used in the rocs.

Is there really a difference on the starfires run to run? Did they change the mold? I personally would never know since I've never thrown one. I do have a Christmas one and a USDGC player pack one. There are 2 runs of starfires. I know that the 2004 USDGC starfires were second run starfires.

I don't know how to tell the difference, because I never had a second run starfire.

My girlfriend is really excited about learning the sport and I already have a bag for her and I want to fill it with discs before i give it to her. Im looking for the following discs in 150 class

I have plenty to trade but unfortunately not alot of money as I just totalled my truck yesterday morning and am in the process of buying a new car. Hopefully I can find all these and do some succesful trading because she wont stop asking me when im going to take her out and teach her to play. ( which by the way im not complaining about) Atleast she isnt nagging the [*****] out of me and saying WHY ARE YOU ALWAYS AT THE COURSE and not with me.

If I can get these discs together soon we maybe have a up and coming female golfer on our hands :D

I believe that I have a nearly new 159 Candy Green Orc. It was part of a package that I won recently and I cant seem to throw the lighter stuff.

No the Pimp has not gone Innova but the only Discraft discs that are in 150 are the Flick ( too overstable for a newbie ) The Talon ( also too overstable ) and the storm which is prolly what i will start her out with.

Thanks for the offer on the Orc but i think it will be to heavy for her. Im looking for like 155 and below and idealy 150 and under. I want her to learn proper technique and thats best learned with the lightest discs possible.

I could hook you up with some 150 Gateway discs. They make almost all their molds in 150. The sabre and element at 150 would be perfect for someone new that does not have big arm speed. PM me your address if you want to hook up. :cool:

Not to be sexist or anything, but a great starter set for a newbie chick is 150 class of Stingray, Cobra, Aviar/Polecat/Birdie. Yellows and pinks are good, too. :)

My wife and daughter both play, and we are always trying to get new chicks to play. Orcs and Firebirds and even Valks are too over-stable for true newbies as they all require a lot of armspeed to fly right. If you are dating WonderWoman or some natural disc golfer super athlete, then maybe you can get away with it. But a girlie-girl or even an active girl who doesn't have disc history would be better served with the Stingray/Cobra combo.

Plus those discs make great starter rollers after she gets the hang of golf and moves on to more studly drivers and midranges, so they won't be wasted and can have a long and useful lifespan.

Get her a Dragon! My wife loves hers!

I think im going to start her with a 150 Storm and then a putter or some sort. Im going to get her a full bag though so when she does want some more STUDLY as Rhett calls them Drivers i will be able to just pull them out and give them to her on the spot instead of having to go out and get them :D

Yeah,, but if you read the thread further, someone else nammed a bunch lighter orcs that they throw. (some were x-outs tho..... I want one!) Whats the lowest yall got? Got lots to trade an $ too.

I've seen some champ orcs that were weighted @ 152-154... they must have slipped through! they were soooo gummy and flexible.

Shes making me teach her today and I dont have any plastic thats light. Anyone got any good suggestions for heavy plastic i could teach her with???

Do you have a DX Leopard? Take it outside, beat it up a little, and give that a try... that worked with my wife at first. Now she's throwing 167 Champ Valks (when I can get her to play).

Anything that is understable by nature will work.. try to avoid champ plastics as well.

BTW, you don't need a 150 class putter, one in the mid 160's will work fine, as long as it is stable, not overstable by nature (i'm sure you have an old aviar laying around, those are great to learn on as they fly fairly straight).

Let her throw you old roller discs. Like Erick said, anything that is super understable to you *may* work well for her, even if it is a little heavy.

Also, teach her an anhyzer and flat release first. The hyzer will come naturally.
