I'm smelling a long drive for naught for Dr. Load on Sunday. Rich is contemplating going somewhere in PA where all the holes are something like 200' which is hosting their first ever PDGA event. He feels he can take his game there and punk the locals (http://img42.photobucket.com/albums/v128/hackajoe/KuKluxKueers/headquarters.jpg) on the ace runs. He hasn't taken into consideration that ace runs is all that these people have been doing for a decade now and are probably pretty good at it. I suspect he might utilize his new friend the Goblin (http://www.innovadiscs.com/discs/goblin.html) a lot in this effort which he has to date failed to add to his official bag rundown. Tsk Tsk.

if i do bring home cash it will not bode well for you! i dare say lunch may cost you more thaan your winnings this year!

darn. i took a perfectly good oppurtunity to pad my lead and tossed in in the crapper.
seem to have tweaked my achilles during the second round, but i was just playing awful so i can't blame it on that. missing mandos on 2 of the first 5 holes sunk me.
i did can an 80 footer and a 50 footer through traffic during the first round and was putting pretty well all day. driving was another story, especially when the wind whupped up off the lake.
i would recommend boulder woods, as it was a nice little technical course, only 1 hour north of 695 off 83. nice lake and other stuff around and probably nice and shady during the hot summer months. i definitely will be going back.
anyway, current standings are:
The Evil One: Events-13, Total Winnings-$107.50, Average Winnings-$8.27
Your Disc Golf Loser: Events-14, Total Winnings-$87.50, Average Winnings-$6.25

I think you're leaving out the best part of the story. The Load was in a two person Masters field. All he has to do is beat one other person and he gets his first ever professional win. He has a two stroke lead after the first round. Unfortunately for Dr. Evil his destiny (http://www.csh.rit.edu/~grahams/nrh/full/Crapper.jpg) is too much to overcome.

I can't even really call it a bullet. After the first round in a Masters field of nine I am three strokes out tied for fifth, but so is everyone else in the phone book. The second round is more of the same where the leader again beats me by three or four as does his card mates, and the leader of my card leaves George and I in the dust for no shot at the ca$h. I'm not sure where I eventually ended up as at least one of the players from the third card passed George and I. Opportunity wasted.

funny story...i was listening to espn radio and eric cassilias, who was mocking dirk nowitski for humming a hasslehoff song while on the line said he actually ran into hasslehoff at the studio. he mentioned that hasslehoff's nickname is HAWK or THE HAWK and mentioned that he actually reffered to himself as HAWK !! coincidence? or is hawk more than a disc golf celebrity? could be be noted vocalist, tv star and bikini magnet david hasslehoff trying to lay low?

From the minor league bored:
7 showed last night, team Ox/Elliot/Kelly didn't do anything and finished in second place behind team flippyputt/prez. Last was team Evil and BB. Final scores
Prez/TE -6
Ox/Elliott/Kelly -2
Evil/BB -1
Looks like The Load is razor sharp for this weekends action as he finishes a distant third on his home course with the course contact as his playing partner.

Successful color coordination with your accessories is always important.
I don't need to practice to beat you. I beat Boyce by myself last Sunday.
I guess the pre-round discussion with you and Course Contact Billstream went something like this:
Rich: Alright this is going to be great. We're going to kick some butt.
Billstream: Right on. We're the favorites.
R: Of course I'm here practicing for my quixotic battle with Your Disc Golf Hero.
B: What exactly does that mean?
R: What...that I'm practicing?
B: No quixotic. Is that a Mexican beer?
R: No it sort of means an idealistic futile quest.
B: So it's not a beer?
R: No.
B: So you're just practicing meaning flinging shots anywhere with any disc?
R: Exactly.
B: Redraw!!!

What he actually meant by this was not a specific disc, but you as his partner. This acknowledges his complete inability to convert anything outside of 10' so you as the partner du jour i.e the putter are expected to handle the duties from 11' and out.

We've surprisingly stumbled into a plethora of events here:
1. This Saturday I am again the heroic underdog as we go to West Virginia to do battle.
2. The following Saturday we go to Pennsylvania for a marathon 54 hole one day event.
3. We wrap up this frenzy of activity the next day with our monthly stroll through The Swamp.

Today four of us toured out to famous West Virginia to have a go at the one day tourney. Accompanying The Load and myself, were fellow Nomad George, and Rockburn Course Contact Billstream. Having never played the course, and not having a roller in my arsenal I was up against Rich's rollers and his eight rounds of on site PDGA tourney experience. He also had several casual rounds in his pocket.
The three Nomads were teamed up along with John Thompson for round one on the Whipping Post course and we started out on hole #2.
Excellent. Now I can give the Disc Golf Loser his lesson in person.
-The Load on Whipping Post #2 at the two minute warning.
Rich and I have longed discussed what we call playing smart and simply taking the safer midrange shot on tight wooded holes instead of doing the hard and hopeful driver tee throw on courses like this. Being the underdog I figured there was no better time than the present to actually put this theory to the test. These (http://www.innovadiscs.com/discs/championShark.html) three (http://www.innovadiscs.com/discs/championCoyote.html) discs (http://www.innovadiscs.com/discs/championRhyno.html) were the main instruments of this plan today along with my putter. (http://www.innovadiscs.com/discs/staraviarpna.html) Rich was working with his drivers, and his putter (http://www.discraft.com/prod_challengers_x.html) of the month. On the first hole I had a nice drive with the Shark, and then made the first bad decision of the day. I opted to join everyone in roller fest on the second shot, and things went horribly awry. Everyone will tell you that you have to roll here, but I announced at that point that I was done rolling for the day. Everytime I pulled out the Rhyno (which was probably 10+ times in round one including a highly successful forehand effort) I would announce:
This ones for Colin!
Rich enjoyed these moments most. ;) We went up and down the hills, out into the fields, and back into the woods, and over a pond, and after 18 holes the scores were:
<font color="red"> Your Disc Golf Hero </font>-73 ;)
<font color="green">The Load </font>-77 :o
You're automatic from 30' and in today!
-The Load on Your Disc Golf Hero's first round putting.
In round two I am still carded with George who matched my 73 and we sit in a three way tie for sixth in a field of 14 Masters. Dr. Putter is on the last of four cards. :DAfter much pontificating about how,
I'm not paying some hillbilly punk anything!!!
we head off for the second round. I can often hear The Load explaining to his playing partners how to execute skillfull shots like his, and his theory of course management. We actually pass about two thirds of the way through the round, and Rich tries to psych me out by using my patented fisherman signal on me. I merely smile and :D. My successful putting continues in the second round while The Load has tried to address his own failures by returning his most recent previous putter (http://www.marshallstreetdiscgolf.com/proddetail.asp?prod=omega%5Fsupersoft) back into his cart.
my new secret weapon is about to be added to my in the bag list. since i picked up a soft challenger at dela, it seems to love to stick in the basket, and my putting game is even better than before.
-The Load on 6-16-06
Well that lasted exactly 18 holes of one tourney. :D Yes you read that correctly as Rich opted away from his purple or lime mini bag, and busted out his cart (http://www.estate-services.com/images/Claypoint/444_-_scooter.jpg). This didn't seem to help as the sweat drenched and breathless soccer jersey sporting Load seemed to be struggling in the oppressive humidity of the day. At the end of the second round scores were:
<font color="red"> Your Disc Golf Hero </font>-70 (143) :D
<font color="green"> The Load </font>-73 (150) :o:eek: :o
Naturally I ended up 8th out of 14 Masters meaning first not paid, but I did win the bet for young Colin in a historic upset. PM me your mailing address Colin as Rich gave me your winnings in disgust, and George graciously ponyed up the coins for postage. :D
Next Saturday is Codorus where I should be the favorite, and maybe I'll further my disc golf studies courtesy of another "lesson" from Dr. Education. As we near the second half of the season we are now witnessing the same collapse by Dr. Load as he went through last year. Stand by for comedy and an updated bag courtesy of the bad doctor.
Current bet standings:
The Evil One: Events-14, Total Winnings-$107.50, Average Winnings-$7.68
Your Disc Golf Hero: Events-16, Total Winnings-$87.50, Average Winnings-$5.47

One (http://www.sharkysshots.com/albums/userpics/10002/schizophrenic_kitty%2Bkat_klassi0067.JPG) of Rich's 150 throws yesterday. Take a good look, as that putter will probably never see the light of competition again.
Also please note that the blue disc under Rich's arm is actually a Hawk autographed edition Aviar. Deep down inside even The Load is a huge fan.
I just got off the phone with The Load who was bemoaning the fact that he has agreed to attend this (http://www.md-discgolf.com/event_flyers/Kinder_glow_flyer.pdf) low rent event Friday evening. I think Rich is two more tournaments away from trying to hustle rec players at his home course.
Rich: I know why Badger's calling us.
Hawk: He wants to know where I get the Nomads shirts from?
R: That and I sort of promised to help run the glow event Friday night.
H: Naturally forgetting that you'd accepted the 54 hole Codorus challenge Saturday, and then you have the Swamp on Sunday.
R: That and I told him I could get you to show up to add some much needed celebrity cache to the event.
H: Ummm...it's Kinder Park.
R: I know.
H: It's Badger.
R: I know.
H: Good luck with that. I'll be washing my discs and doing back exercises Friday evening in preparation of ruining your life just a little bit more next weekend.
R: Well I'm sure I'll be fine. It's just glow. I'll just be throwing my Roc...
H:...until midnight...
R:...and I'll be home by...
H:...Saturday morning. Remember we roll out at 0700.
R: It's just a warm-up. Like practice.
H: That practicing thing is really working out for you.
R: Yeah whatever. Maybe I'll just skip Codorus.
H: Backing out on the accepted challenge? Is this an admission that you can't hang with Your Disc Golf Hero?

<font color="blue"> The Load </font> Fails To Post At Codorus Today After A Late Night of Miniature Golf & Bad Chinese Takout.
Today at Codorus the Masters field was comprised of five brave players willing to accept the 54 hole challenge. The course was in spectacular shape courtesy of park worker Tim who totally supports the disc golf effort up there. Sort of the opposite of Patapsco. Lots of mowing going on at Codorus.
In the first round TD Jay chose to grace some Am's with my celebrity presence (and also keep me away from his girlfriend) so I tutored three aspiring discers in how the big boys do it. As with my last appearance at Codorus the crowd was buzzing with anticipation of a spectacular shot by Your Disc Golf Hero as I delivered at the PA State Championships. Naturally I came through for the public on <font color="red">#15 </font> which I deuced from 220' out with a Coyote after a Sidewinder drive. I think this was the lone deuce on this notoriously long a difficult hole.
Glen Hatfield: You deuced <font color="red">#15? </font>
Hawk: Yes.
G.H.: Holy #$*&$!!!!
-post tourney discussion
Things went downhill for me two holes later as I see The Glove (http://www.eatgolf.com/images/new-golf-glove.jpg) heading up an adjoining hole.
H: Boys I just moved down a slot.
From there it was schooling the Am's and after the first 27 I was in a three way tie for third. Score after first round:
87 :p
We were five strokes out of second, and the payout was announced to be three deep. So fellow Nomad George, myself, and home course hotshot Clint Rey were battling it out for the ca$h.. I figured that George would run out of steam ala The Load so I knew that I would have to do what Rich had failed to do at Boulder Woods a few weeks back when he had a two stroke lead after the first round against Clint in their mano y mano Masters battle. As you may recall Rich immediately rolled over and let Clint stroll away. This would be a greater challenge as this was Clint's home course, and the <font color="blue">blue </font> course and x-holes are set up for his forehand roller. On the blue course itself I managed to hold my own against Clint using a Champion Aviar for approaches, but the putting just wasn't happening today, and after I took a tough five on x-hole #4 to Clint's three he gradually pulled away with a few deuces and some threes to my threes and fours giving him sole third place, and I come in fourth ahead of George. Second round score:
91 :o
Now in an odd twist to say thanks for everyone coming out and having a go at this huge challenge Jay, Bill and Clint decided to pay out something to everyone. So George and I got sympathy dollars. :D Hey it's won money!
Current bet standings:
The Load : Events-14, Total Winnings-$107.50, Average Winnings-$7.68
<font color="red"> Your Disc Golf Hero </font> : Events-17, Total Winnings-$88.50, Average Winnings-$5.21
Notice that my number of events is creeping ahead of Rich's as he becomes capable of only saddling up for miniature golf events like the Swamp, and Kinder Park. Rich will be sanctioning something out at Goucher this fall to help his cause.
We might face off tomorrow at The Swamp, but Rich would be a heavy favorite after the physically demanding punishment I went through today. However I might show up just to protect my standings position and collect my prize mini from 2005 which I still haven't received! :p If Rich gets some ca$h over me it's expected, and by merely showing up I again prove my superior toughness and disc golf hero status. Some ca$h for me would be the 37th psychological blow for Dr. Sissy.

- The Load 6-29-06
After yesterdays marathon effort at Codorus I wasn't sure what I'd have left today against Rich on a short course. To stack the deck more in Dr. Empties favor was the fact that he took yesterday off napping and conducting some consumer research on the effectiveness of various home (http://www.buyforcharity.com/DominosLogo.jpg) delivery (http://www.motthall.org/intro/cur/munoz/harlem/website/chinese%20food,%20chopsticks.gif) services. (http://www.takeout-taxi.com/States/MD.html) What kind of man (http://www.scar.utoronto.ca/~02chukma/batman.jpg) could possibly overcome all of this?
Upon arriving at the Swamp (http://www.stchas.edu/faculty/ewilson/Photos/SE%20Coast/Atchafalaya%20Swamp%20002.jpg) I find that The Load  isn't present! At some point while the gathered unwashed are noticing my presence Wednesday doubles host Sean B. approaches me:
Sean: It looks like you don't have any competition today.
Hawk: Even when he's here I don't have any competition.
We both toss our heads back and guffaw.
While warming up some laser like putts The Load rolls up in his clown car. (http://us.autos1.yimg.com/img.autos.yahoo.com/aic/honda_element_exp2wd5spdmt_2006_450x225.jpg) Feigning surprise that I would dare post this morning the first round begins.
I go through a slow start as everything is stiff and sore (easy ladies) and finally start to cobble together a random deuce. I can periodically hear and see The Load on the course and have to assume that he is several strokes ahead of me. :D Scores after the first round:
<font color="red">Your Disc Golf Hero </font>: 51 :)
<font color="green">The Load </font>: 54 :o
We head off in the silver bullet for the traditional Chipolte lunch, and drive back to enjoy it in the air conditioned comfort of my car. At some point during the meal Rich manages to dump a fist sized portion of his burrito into my center console cup holders and underneath the passenger seat. Less than amused at this buffonery I castigate The Load causing Rich to spew his diet coke out his nose and onto the front of his stylish Nomads polo. So now he's sweated through the shirt and turned the front into an abstract (http://www.ibiblio.org/wm/paint/auth/pollock/pollock.number-8.jpg) painting. This is all witnessed by local grandmaster T2 in an adjacent vehicle who later said it reminded him,
...of what it looks like before the zookeepers come in and hose out the elephant cage.
To keep the mood light and the halftime merriment going Rich then attempts to change shirts swapping out the Nomads polo for a DC United jersey. Unfortunately the polyester shirt appears to have shrunk as Rich has great difficulty getting it over his physique. This was a real life example of the cliche of trying to stuff a sausage into a casing. After a couple of minutes of exertion (which is probably the longest workout Rich has had in a couple of years) Rich opts to continue playing in his now soiled white polo.
The start of the second round finds me sitting 6th out of 11 or 12 Masters, so I need to maintain to ca$h. During the second round I pick up a couple of quick early deuces. Five holes into the round The Load and I cross paths, and he again tries to give me the patented fisherman sign. I motion back that I am two down, and Rich fails to react other than a spreading wet spot on the front of his shorts. On my card was Tom Garber one shot back of me, and I was confident that he would pass me like I was standing still. Things got interesting and amusing when about 11 holes into our round Tom had to handle a call on his cell phone resulting in him playing about four holes with the cell phone pressed to his ear. Meanwhile I can at times hear The Load hacking his way around the course. As I complete my round I walk up to the parking lot to see that Rich has rolled out early. Oh here's why. Scores after the second round:
<font color="red">Your Disc Golf Hero </font>: 53 (104)
The Load:58 (112)
Another non relevant win in my column in the head to head battle which now stands at 8-4-1 in favor of me. ;)
But wait I manage to tie the person in fifth at the start of the second round by winning my card, and bring home $12.50. :D
Current bet standings:
The Load: Events-15, Total Winnings-$107.50, Average Winnings-$7.17
<font color="red"> Your Disc Golf Hero </font>: Events-18, Total Winnings-$101, Average Winnings-$5.61
It looks like the fisherman and my staff (http://bestkeywest.com/assets/images/autogen/a_fish_mean_green_girl_and_her_blue_runner02.jpg) have set the hook, and are now just reeling Rich (http://www.artezia.net/cinema/films/image_fiches/a-b/big-fish.jpg) in.

I took the newly aquired evilmobile down to spotsy today to see if i could get in another event to even up our number of events. being a disc golf LEGEND, i was instantly noticed and greeted by the equally infamous MTL
MTL: Are you the great Dr. Evil
EVIL: yes, i am. please rise...
Thank you oh evil one. Is your sad sack opponent here today?
EVIL: no, he is scared to come to spotsy and play again after the beatings i have given him at loriella in the past.
MTL: figures. i wa shoping to witness a beating in person like the one i administered to my roommates the other day. you know i am the highest rated player in my building...
EVIL: yes, you are ascending in your notoriety, and someday i may be able to take you on as a henchman...
MTL: thanks, Dr.. it was awesome to meet you. hopefully you will send me your autograph on a MD mini to sponsor my event coming up.
EVIL: certainly fan. send me your info...
anyway, on to the action. first round i played with bryan stableford and hvnafit. jimmy started badly, but recovered. i had serious trouble on the pond hole taking a circle 7! BS had no problem explaining to us why he is the better player, showing superior course management and thrashing me by seven strokes. grumpy joe beat me by 2 and hvnafit had a blowup on the last hole(7 long, probably the hardest on the course) and was halfway home by the time al the cards were in. this left me one up on billybob and a handful up on kirk.
second round bryan contuinued his mastery throwing down a 45 in the short layout. joe had a meltdown( the fiasco in the field he called it) and was 2 down to me going into the last hole(even overall) i felt a little tired in the open filed holes but held it together until 6, which was our last hole. i was super hot otu there. i thought to play it safe, but released early and it drifted left into the trees. joe landed on the edge. i punch out and await joe's shot. no problem, he flicks a putter right up to easy putting range. deflated as i see my chance at catching him pass by, i leave my 3rd shot out 25 feet and miss the easy putt finishing with a 5! ouch! luckily billy bob fails to turn in his card and bolts off thinking he has lost, leaving me in third alone! sweeet!!!!
20$ TOWARDS THE CAUSE AS THE DR TAKES THIRD PLACE!!!!!

Jul 16 2006, 09:26 PM
It's become apparent over the past two weeks that this isn't merely another disc golf bet, but something greater.
Any player who can accomplish the following...
1. An inexplicable rush in voting support the past two weeks after two vicious beatings...
2. Finally wins at a doubles event after blatantly misleading an opponent to get an edge...
3. Dares to travel to a course where he was last seen gorging himself on fig newtons after yet another beating, has one player storm off at halftime moving him up a slot, and then has another player fail to turn in his card moving him up yet another slot to garner some last place ca$h...
...clearly has something working in their favor more than simply being a loser with an approach game.
Obviously I (http://www.greghornjudge.com/images/Large/4%20Magazine%20art/555_Resident_evil.jpg) am up against something (http://www.tscholars.com/images/1/1d/Satan.jpg) a little bit bigger than usual. Fortunately I have a little experience in dealing with stuff like this from my job.
It's time to get serious. This is a hero (http://www.canit.se/~satuna1/itis/al4/hero.jpg) vs. something huge. (http://www.qdcomic.com/pureevil/pureevil.jpg)

well, if i go to a tournament and don't cash it helps you. but if i go and cash it is just like a double kick in the jewel(s) for you. no matter who i beat. i suggest you contact the brakels and see if you can get in one of those junior girls events. oh yeah, i guess it won't help unless you can talk them into playing masters.
i did sign up for the WVO. theoretically, that should be an event with no cash to add to the total and bring me a bit closer. regardless, you will need to chase me to any other events i go to and outcash me to win this bet.

I was hoping to have this battle waged in a grander arena, but you are more comfortable wallowing in the gutter. So instead of five star restaurants and hotels, I'm going to have to slum in your world of "dining" (http://www.cyburbia.org/gallery/data/504/medium/1wg77.jpg) and "lodging." Jeff,
Thanks fan. I'd like to apologize for letting The Load & his crony (http://www.qwe.com/scott/secretowl/celery_mugging.jpg) have a free pass last Sunday. Unfortunately I was tied up with a prior committment. (http://www.thecross-photo.com/images/Harmony-Baptist-Church.jpg) However my mobile reverend service is really taking off. I'm working with a couple of new (http://www.csmonitor.com/2006/0519/csmimg/p12b.jpg) consultants (http://www.lasvegas.com/nightlife/stripclubs/images/scoresnew02.jpg) and without any more free passes The Load will soon sink out of mediocrity and down into the depths of despair (http://thymoma.de/depression-pez1.jpg) unthinkable to the rest of us.

Unfortunately I can't honestly say that I'm familiar with that particular individual. However those two photos are interesting in that in the second one his outfit almost resembles a dress, and in the first one I see two men exchanging ca$h in a park which unfortunately often involves a tawdry sexual liason. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
If this particular individual would like to perhaps bask in the greatness of Team Grunt then please encourage him to do so. As an International Disc Golf Celebrity and the Maryland State Coordinator we take our roles of ambassadors seriously. Dan should be advised however that making direct eye contact with either of us, or speaking without being spoken to is generally forbidden. We may very well have played against this Dan in our division in the past, but keep in mind that to us the rest of the field are simply stools.

How sissy is this? I'm personally embarassed to be in a competition with a man (http://surfsiderealty.com/images/little-girl.jpg) who would bail out like this. While I have played once as an Advanced Master this year that was at an Am only event. I would never play Advanced Master at a Pro-Am. Clearly The Load has come to some sense in that he realizes that there is no way for him to ca$h at the WVO and that he's merely donating 50 cents to narrowing the per event average by playing. The only real question is whether he can finish above the bottom three in the Masters field. I believe this violates the spirit of the bet in that he's participating in an event that offers a Masters field, but is not playing Masters as it would negatively impact his position in the bet. This from the man (http://sydney.fuller.name/photos/2005/2005-10-17--Little_Drummer_Girl.jpg) who boldly declared months ago that he would not let this bet determine what tourneys he played.
i will beat hawk AND cash. stand by for greatness!
- The Load today. (http://www.pdga.com/msgboard/showflat.php?Cat=&Number=568565&Main=564519#Post568565)
Who wants to take The Load (http://www.fremontdads.com/photos/Little_Girl_Portraits/images/Little-Girl-web.jpg) up on his boast to ca$h? This time The Load is merely betting on his own performance. We all know how that whole W.V. debacle turned out for The Load last month.
Obviously he is the favorite to beat me at the Sizzler:
1. He's leading this bet.
2. You the public have voted him the big favorite to win this bet.
3. I've never beaten him in a sanctioned event at Seneca.
4. He has a higher player rating.
All I've got going for me is this. (http://hg.iap.ac.cn/dcphoto/movie/Batman_01.jpg) Well that and this. (http://www.937thebone.com/BoneBabe/females/superhero3.jpg)

well, while it certainly isn't specified in the bet that i have to play pro masters, i have decided to play there as there is always the possibility of the perfect storm and cashing. but since i am playing the event for fun i don't care if i play pro or am, and if i means enabling someone to play who would miss out, i will switch if needed. hawk's pitiful whining about when and where i play won't be taken into consideration.
as to seneca, of course i am the huge favorite. what does that say about you that I am the huge favorite over you??? not only will i beat you, i will cash. i am going to start driving home the finishing nails on this bet....

The only thing you'll be driving home after the Sizzler is your sweat drenched 250 pound dehydrated sun stroked carcass. We'll probably be having dinner at the Rockville Hooters as preparation for you paying off the bet come January.
I do respect your new gameplan though of playing in events that you have no chance of ca$hing in. Sort of the opposite extreme of your failed Boulder Woods strategy. Much like your choice of putters, this is that committment that my fans admire you for.

Funny, but we've already established your track record of success vs. me at Seneca. Is that the best smack you've got you Load?
