Hey guys, I have some custom stamped CFR DESTROYERS I'm selling to raise money for the June 14, 2008 "Wilson Lake Open" in Florence, Ala., a PDGA C-Tier event. I'm looking for a decent pair of backpack straps. I keep looking and I keep ending up back at the Phenix Quad Shocks. They seem so nice. Just don't want to pay that kind of money. Any one have any suggestions for other ones!?

You can always go DIY like I did before I got the Quad shocks...take 2 regular shoulder straps, attach them both to the same rings on your bag, then criss-cross them across your shoulders. It takes a little more effort to put them on, but works pretty well and is a lot more comfortable than just one shoulder strap. I duct-taped dish towels around mine for padding :D

Quad shocks are way more comfortable though...well worth the money spent.

Hey, I'd thought I'd ask the group here (who the hell else would know?)...

How much do ya'll think a first run Discraft Torque, one of the first 200 or so (has the Am Champions stamp on it), is worth? I had read that these would be good collectors items since only the first ones flew the way J. Kenner intended, and they were quickly discontinued as a result.

Just wondering if anyone has a rough idea...anyone bought or sold one recently??? Jeez, this can be like playing the stock market! WHO'S GOT THE INSIDER INFO!

The original Belding Quadshoks were made by and for ball golf bags. In the golf bag configuration one strap is way longer than the other to accomadate a bg bag. Phenix does not and has never made bg straps. The straps were re-configured to be more durable when they changed to Phenix.
No-one but Belding and Phenix have the "shoks" as they are patented and liscenced only to them. Belding will sell golf style attached to their bg bags only.
I've personally never understood the big hang-up on price. Add up the value of the discs in your bag. $40 straps that will let you throw ALL of those discs better and help you last longer as a result of the comfort factor? Sounds like an inexpensive investment on something that will probably last longer than most of those discs.

BTW, anyone whose bag is on the heavy side (14+discs and 2 water bottles) should try the cross-lock straps with the sternum strap (avail only at phenixdiscsports.com). It is truly amazing how the sternum strap moves the weight from your shoulders/collarbone to your entire core. The first day I used them I rode my bicycle to the course, played 40+ holes and rode home. At the end, my core was a little sore and tired, but my shoulders felt awesome. Normally I should've been in pain.

Try all the rest, then get the best.

I would say that it is probably an 8 or 8.5 out of 10 and weighs in at 173. There are some minor nics on the rim but other then that it looks really good. Obviously someone before me inked/dyed a little too much underneath but that is the only place other then a small faded name on the back. I can get more pics if need be.

I would love to trade this straight up for a CE Teebird, T mold, of similar condition.
However most people do not want to give those up so I would be up for cash as well. I might also be up for trades of discs listed below but my need is not that great and it would probably not be a one for one trade unless it was another CE.

Any decent disc retailer will have a good selection of 150 plastic. You will find most 150 class in the DX line. Sometimes you can't get a 150 class disc in the higher end plastics. They just can't make them.

BTW: the champion roadrunner doesn't come in 150. The sidewinder does. Millennium has some 150 class molds.

Champion Whippet-x For Sale...

175 grams, orange f/s with stamp removed. New, unthrown.

Technically, this is an x-out disc, but I've been throwing x-out Champ Whippets for a few years, and I honestly can't find anything wrong with this one. Most x-out Whippets I've thrown have "pepper flakes" in the plastic or dips in the rim...this one has neither and nothing else wrong that I can find.

I've got a CE Polaris LS up for grabs -- disc is factory dyed (red and yellow on white plastic), 175g, new/never thrown, no ink. These fly like a QJ with less glide, a little more manageable in the wind. This is true opaque CE plastic from 2002... NOT the (also very rare) translucent Quantum Polaris. These are the 1.13 run that Team members prefer.

I just found out that this disc is a 4th run.
It is not a TL it is a real Teebird.

from my understanding that is a 1st run...all 1st run CE Eagles, Firebirds and TeeBirds are red

there were red ones in all runs, all 1st runs are TL, and its not solid opaque.

I just got a Ninja ZZR600 and Im thinking that the Dual Pack is the only way I can still golf every day and ride a bike...
