don't forget to set your DVR's for Conan O'Brien tonight. The Borg will be representing our sport on national television.

I actually stayed up to see that...only to be rescheduled without warning... :o

I wonder if Feldberg found out that Bob Weir of Grateful Dead fame was gonna be on tonight with his band, Ratdog (serious jamming) and would rather of been on tonights show

recently read somewhere that Feldberg enjoys Keller Williams which is a definite "Dead Head" type performer, guess I couldn't blame him

Furdog sent me a PM explaining his adventures last night while he was out. While I know it is not proper etiquette to post a copy of a PM form another user, I felt this was worth the risk of any threat of probation or banishment from the moderators. ;)

From FurDog:

I met an older woman at a redneck bar last night. She was OK for 57. We drank a bit, she beat me at pool, we danced a little.
After few more drinks she leaned over the bar, looked me in the eye with a sly smile and asked if I'd ever had a "sportsman's double" - a mother and daughter threesome.
I said "no."
We drank a bit more, and then she says that tonight was "my lucky night".
We went back to her place. I took off my clothes and got into her bed. My mind was racing with the possibilities. She put the hall light on and shouted upstairs:

"Momma, you still awake?"

Tonight / Furdogs Mountain / 6:15pm

I would like to invite everyone out but it has come to my attention that a lot of you are playing way too much DG and its about time you stay home and take care of your loved ones. Yeah, thats right. You all have been neglecting the ones that care about you. When is the last time you called your relatives and told them how much you love them? When is the last time you stayed home and cooked a nice meal for your significant other? Thats right. You know youre guilty. If you continue down this road your lover will leave you, your parents will disown you, and your pet will start crapping on your pillow.

Think about others for a change and stay home.

The starting ace pot tonight is $112 but Ive been carrying that money around for a long time now and it has become very attached to me. We are like one. It needs me and I need it to buy Gaines Burger and cleaning products for my dog house. :(

As the park TD, I have to show up but that doesnt mean you have to. Think about your family. Is that Cats in the Cradle song starting to play in your head? I will be taking care of the ones I love by bringing Lil'Moose and my Mom to witness my ace tonight. Therefore none of ye others need attend. Stay home and love the one you're with.

Donkey Dan is still banned and ye will all thank me when the time is at hand. :)

I think you need to deal with the complete bagging going on at your minis.
I went back and looked at some scores. It would appear that you need to force an advanced am division and get theses guys to step up where they belong and quit taking from the tru Ams and true Novices that attend your events.

I think these scores speak for themselves, they **** sure aren't am and novice type scores.

I agree. You got any ideas? You know any other TD's in town that have a solution? That crap has been going on ever since I got back into DG and I see very few TD's trying to do anything about it. I make statements about it afterwards and call most of them out. What do you think I should do? Beat them up or sprayem in the face with some mace?

Ive heard every excuse in the book out there. Stuff like, Man, Im telling ya that 47 is the best Ive ever shot out here. Ive been compensating some of the true novs by paying out a few spots farther down out of my own pocket. Maybe I should put all the Ams in one division and do a tier payout like Connors does. That would probably be better but I dont know how he calculates the payout positions. Any variant from the norm will probably start a fight though. Maybe I should just offer an bounty to all the non-baggers to take the baggers into the woods and beat them up.

Does anybody have any ideas?

Maybe I should rule that if you shoot three strokes more than the average of your division you automatically get moved up to the next division.

I offer an Advanced division but nobody really goes there. I can only assume that some of these guys are so insecure or such plastic whores that they must get some jollies feeding off the newbies.

I would think that 55 and above would be novice.

50-54 = Am.

46-49 = Adv.

40-46 = Pro.

Maybe I need to create a Not-so-Novice division.

I call people out on it at Riverside all the time. The problem is in the heat of sign ups I don't always have time to look back a few weeks and see where they placed.

I may start a log for Intermediate and Novice players to track it. They are not doing themselves any favors either. We all need to play with better players..

Since my first mini in March 2007 I have never had an advance division.

Everyone plays Novice, Intermediate or Pro.

I agree it is time to stop this or we are going to lose our new players.... And that won't work

The more that play pro, the deeper the payout. The only money that pro's don't get back in their payout is a dollar from their entry fee that goes to the TDSA. The last couple of weeks Johnny Lange (aka: Skinskin) has been playing pro even though his normal average doesn't really require him to. I think last week Coda was on his card and he enjoyed playing with him and his score improved also. Two weeks ago he hit the CTP and guess what???....Cash buddy....cash!!! Which in my opinion is better than plastic anyday. :)

What I think some of these baggers don't understand is that Chandler is an level playing ground for almost anyone. You might not be able to throw a 40 like Coda but the doesn't mean playing on his card won't inspire you to rise above the low expectations or selfish greed you carry with you and grow a pair. :o

If you pro's want to play for more money then bring it. Furdog is not going to subsidize your division for you. :p

Who's afraid of the big bad Coda anyway???? ;)

blahhhh blaahhhhh blahhhhhhh blaaaaaaaa :D

I consider Hunter to be a longer tougher course than the river and chandler. Until this week no one has ran many events at the "real" courses due to rain and grass and ticks and mosquito's.

And from the clubs perspective, Riverside and Chandler bring in more $ than all the other courses combined....

Last week I gave your little terrorist 10-1/2 strokes and beat him by 11. You gave him 12 and beat him by 18. You have baggin issues too. :p

What I spend my money on is my business, soley because its my money. The last time I checked I know who my children are, do you? :o

If him having a bigger allowance is that important to you, then I suggest you step to the plate. if not, you're all talk and no walk. But that's nothing that I didn't already know.
And per your advice for Drew to earn some money mowing lawns, I told him a much easier way to double his allowance would be to follow you around the course for side bets. That way he could get the increase to $50 you think he should have at no cost to me. On top of that, when I think about it, you're probably already funding the base $25 a week he gets now. :o

i personaly know a few players that are true novs that will not play because of the exceptional players at these smaller courses. it cant be that difficult to have a scoring history to help exceptional players realize its time to move up. maybe a few minutes of preperation and a little bookkeeping on a spred sheet.

Better yet.....You can run the mini. :)...That's right little buddy, I'm going let you be a "Special Guest TD" next week. The way you got up there and called those baggers out made me think "Wow!!!!...Twoputt is missing his true calling."

You can even re-name the mountain as "Wise's Nipple" or "Twoputt's Breasticle". I'm sure you have enough plastic from all your bagging days to do the Am payout. You can't keep milking your Am Worlds resume forever. It's time you step up and contribute instead standing on the sidelines quacking like Donald Duck. You can even bring Drewl and he can be your "Mini-Me". :)

Waaaah!!!Waaaaah!!!Waaaaah!!! :p

Do you need some Midol and some feminine hygiene products? If you take a vaccum hose, reverse the suction to blow, stick it in your mouth, maybe that little thing might pop back out. :o

Ill apologize to everyone but you that I have to work for a living. :(

I apologize that when my woman gets home from work at 5:15 I want to spend a little time and talk with her. I feel bad if shes had a bad day and I have to leave right away to go deal with a ungrateful whiner like yourself.

I apologize that I spent the time to offer, before the round, an $8 disc, against their $4 entry, to any true nov or am who thought they didnt have a chance because someone was probably going to bag in their division. They could have just left with a four dollar profit right then but nobody did.

I apologize that my big mouth friend started all that yesterday and then hide in the crowd until he himself was called out. Ive got to admit. Three people moved up to advanced and I rewarded all of them for doing so. Some people even moved up to pro which Im sure my big mouth friend was happy since he split 2nd place pro cash.

I apologize that 46 people showed up. I told them to stay home but nobody took my advice. Maybe next time YOU WILL!! :o

I apologize that you have to be home to eat your milk and cookies and have your wife tuck you into your Bark-o-lounger by 9pm.

I apologize that you have nothing better to do than show up 30 minutes early to a mini and expect it to start on time. The thought of you aimlessly waiting for me puts a little sparkle in my eye and makes me feel all giddy inside. :)

I am grateful that Coda has become your new Mitchell and playing on his card negated the negative vibes that you and Donkey Dan expel. It inspired me to throw a personal best of 44 and at the same time kept your big mouth shut for the majority of the round.

Just for you. I am trying very hard to not live up to your expectations. /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

The first nine holes of the new course will be east of the Jesus mound running back to the maintenance building. Those of you who played Chandlerstock in April know what Im talking about. The other nine holes will come later after the parks department builds a new recreation center. I not sure exactly where that going to be but word is it will probably be around where CS HQ (shelter 2) was this year. I imagine that existing holes # 14 & 15 will be affected when that happens.

The road on the east side of the Jesus mound is eventually going to be eliminated and there is a pending plan to build a parking lot for the DGers just east and a little north of hole 10s basket. The parks department is trying to move the DGers parking area away from shelter # 3 because beer and birthday cake dont mix. Im thinking hole # 11 will eventually be hole # 1.

It may take a few years before they finish that rec center so for now Im thinking about branching off hole # 9 and adding an option for a 27 hole course. This new nine should continue back east to the maintenance center and then return to the east side mound. If you consider this the leaf of a clover leaf then later when we add the other nine going north and west that would be consider leaf # 2. I dont see how we can make the existing short course leaf # 3 & # 4 without altering the current course. Some of those are originals and I dont want Steady Ed cursing me from heaven. :(

Ive got a verbal approval that putting a basket or a tee pad on top of the mound shouldnt be a problem. We just need to decide which we like better and make sure if we put the basket on the hill, we locate the tee pad in a way that would help avoid throwing over the hill and hitting someone on the other side. We are limited going east so I dont know if the holes will be that long but we should make the them very tight with lots of trees guarding the targets.

My plan is to have this first nine in by next Chandlerstock. Ive already got the money to buy the baskets thanks to those of you who supported Chandlerstock last year plus money that LilMoose and I are pitching in. Im not going to buy a bunch a baskets just to have them sit in some warehouse somewhere collecting dust. Once we get a plan drawn up to propose to the city this thing should be a done deal.

If we get nine extra baskets out there this Sunday we can start planning a new future for DG at Chandler which in my opinion has been a long time coming.

Whos with us!!!!

On another note. He's there. He's here. He's everywhere now days. This Thursday's (July 26th) Chandler mini will be ran by a special guest TD named Michael Treat. Please treat him well.

I would like to be there but Lil'Moose has to attend a special award ceremony and I've been told (in no un-certain terms) that I'm going. :(...****!...The things a dog has to go thru to be able to sleep on the bed. ;)

Anyway I originally asked Kenny Avalanche to do it since, as recently as last Friday, he claimed to could do it better but the turkey went chicken on me and claimed he had to take his Drool to soccer practice. :p

Mr Treat has been nice enough to step up and run it for me which is good news for some of you because this one will probably start on time. :)....Too bad Kenny won't be there to see it but I've told Michael if he does show up, tell him Furdog said he was banned and he won't get to join in the reindeer games. :o

Ace pot will start at $132. I gave the money to Michael last night. Hopefully nobody will hit it so I can get a shot at it next week.

Steve Pryor don't have nothing on US man. We are the HEAD LINER!!!!

We have hits like.....

"Now you're messing with a son of a Furdog!"

"Dog's in white satin."

"Me and you and a dog named pooh."

"99 Cans of beer in the Frig."

"Blue Moose"

"Where will Cupcakes pass out next?"

And I'm not even mentioning the hits from the Disco Beaver days.

On top of that. There's a lot of time left between now and then. Cindy might change her mind and decide she made a mistake. :o...And if she does I want our present back!!!!:D

But I have loaned sharpies to people who did.

By the way. What's going on with Regier?

I saw him riding a bicycle in the right lane of Riverside last night at rush hour. There were cars backed up for a block behind him. He was dressed in a Santa suit and on the back it had a phone # and the words. " Will sing naked!"

I guess he's becoming a song and dance man now eh??? :o

FYI - do not try to do any playing at McCLure park this Saturday morning. It is the kids Triathlon and most of the roads going to the park will be closed and the park will be full of kids swimming, biking and running. A lot of fun just not a good time to play disc golf. Ok, I have really screwed up. I am sure this is the last mini I will ever get to run at Chandler. In spite of my best intentions the unthinkable happened. Actually, not only did it happen once, it happened THREE times.

Greg Winsworth Hole 18... Some Gateway disc on a rope..

Harlyn Unruh Hole 14!! Threw a nice shot, skipped right in

JUSTIN LANDERS Hole 12,, Threw a great left handed two finger, all air all CHAINS

Congratulations are in order for the following people, for stepping up from being baggers.

Nice work guys

Harry Hinshaw Jr. (moved from Nov to pro)
Brian Hinds (moved from Am to Pro)
Jesse Carlile (moved from Am to pro)
Harlyn Unruh (moved from Am to Pro and hit an ace)
John Barton (moved from Am to Pro)
Ethan Angle (moved from Nov to Am)

Most moved from Bagging in Am to open, which may be a little extreme. If they all got together to play advanced it would have made for enough numbers to make it worth their while and provide some good competition.

Those that are still bagging in Am

Matt Shipley 45
Chris Beard 47
Jesse Cummer 43 (the newest bagger in Am)
There were a total of 7 players that shot in the 40's in Am.

I counted 12 guys in Pro that would have made a great Adv Am field and more of them would have gotten paid.

Way to step up guys.

The 10:00am Mini that was originaly scheduled for McClure will be moved to Dovillio.

If anyone does not know where that is, just head east on 7th st from Mclure, it is located about 8 blocks east of Memorial on 7th, you can't miss it.

sorry Furdog, your Ace Pot is no more...

****!!!....I gave you one simple instruction. Hold on to the ace money. You were supposed to be The Cooler but instead you paid out like a broken slot machine. I needed that money for a flea dip and some dog toys but because youre a walking ATM, now Im screwed. Somebody get me some Preparation H.

Why cant you be more like Wise? He very seldom ever pays out. All you had to do is start the mini a little late and it would have thrown off everybodys rhythm, but noooooo, you have pull a Forest and get everyone started on time. Did you sell mulligans too????? How did little Landers end up with an ace? Did you tell all women and juniors to take ten steps in? He now has bragging rights and Im never going to hear the end of that. :(

None of those who aced appear to be current TDSA members so at least you did one good thing and brought some new members into the fold. For that I give you a high paw but youre finished on my mountain buddy. In the words of TrumpYOURE FIRED!!!!.... This is not going to look good on your resume.

Ill be at your mini next Tuesday looking for some payback so get prepared to say Cha-Ching once again. The TD wars have begun.:o;)

Yea. That was a nice layout. A little bit of everything. I think that one along the woods was a little extreme. :(....Need to check with Standingbear and find out if that one was on county property or not. We might need to do a few more layouts and get him out there for some advising. I wanted him out there yesterday but he was on vacation. I don't think they will be willing to jackhammer some holes in the ground until fall or winter though but we should have 9 new by next April for sure.

We will have to dedicate one hole to Twoputt and call it the "Wine-Nee-Butt" hole. :o...For a minute there I thought we were all going to get a chance to kick his cart. The guy played like a Dyson and never lost SUCKtion. ;)

twoputtok
Jul 30 2007, 11:13 AM
But I didn't kick my cart, did I?

I was wanting to but I'm not about to give you that kind of satsifaction.

Yeah. You were getting so much wood that everyone on the card was scared to turn their back on you when they bent over up pick up their discs. At least you had something for "show & tell" when you got home to Julie though. :D

That was tough. 27 dollar CTP's between a 826 rated dog vs a 900+ pro player. I think everyone on the card though I was nuts when I proposed that deal. :o....For a minute there after I said it I started to wonder if I had $27 to give up.

Still, I had a great start but ended up losing a lot of ground near the end. ....The hole 17 jinkz has been lifted though buddy. God bless the Sidewinder.

we probably should play rec

Recreational - available to amateur players of all ages with player ratings < 875. For beginning and casual players who are
learning basic Frisbee and disc golf skills. Throw 175-300 feet, make 3-5/10 putts from 20 feet, can throw backhand with
some accuracy. Score range: 63+

but we're not beginners or casual players we just have too much fun to play well ;)

I think that we don't have enough divisions and perhaps we'd be better off in the advanced crappy golfer division for those of us that have played for awhile but still play bad :p

besides my ratings are skewed because they won't let us play drunk

So I've got to beat the FurBall by 2.3 strokes just to tie again

OK....I'm starting my training regiment tomorrow :)

Ace # 10 Dan The Donkey Bougher (Paid 51.50)

All in all it was a bad night for Furdog. I started off ok but the THE DONKEY started making up new rules to get into my head and throw off my game. I swear I think Wise paid him to come out and screw with my mind. All I can say is having Donkey Dan on your card negates any positive vibe one might get playing with a Super Pro on your card. The main hit to my wallet was having to pay $5 to the two guys on my card that got aces. Who ever came up with the 51 rule sucks butt. Codas shot looked like it was remote controlled while Dans looked like a hope and a prayer. Still, these guys split the $103 ace pot and Im out another $10 just for being on the wrong card at the wrong time.

Im starting to ponder the pros and cons of being a TDSA TD. On one side you feel like youre doing a good thing for the sport and you make a little money on the side but after last night Im starting to walk a little funny and my profit margin is starting to drop into the red. :(

Well it's funny how Wise can come on here and gripe when he plays Pro in minis but then runs back to Pro Master during a PDGA tournament. It's all about the money and whether there's a more than 50/50 chance of him cashing. That is why he is pushing for more of these guys to move up to pro so that he may have more of a chance of taking advantage of people who may play well one week and self-destruct the next. :o

If you had invested your money in a monkey rather than a horse maybe you wouldn't be paying those high vet bills. :o...I'm sure the horse is probably sitting in it's barn right now thinking up other ways to make you go "cha-ching!!!". :D

Anyone not going to OKC this weekend...I am thinking of a little non sanctioned , cash only mini on Sunday morning (play early and beat the heat) at Blackhawk. Something like a $5 entry...and depending on how many come, we will adjust payouts accordingly.
Just let me know if you are interested!!

That's right, I said CASH only!!!

It doesn't work that way Nancy. You'll need at least one Parks Department employee on your team. Since you're not a "Course Pro" you should start campaiging to make sure you're not that last one picked.

Hey, i got to play last year on a team that had 3 park employees and then to make things fair they stuck them with me as a handicap!
Talk about some nice guys that did not have a chance since they were counting on the disc golfer put with them to be a help!
