I thought you were talking about a new tag season for 2007.
I'm not sure how this year's challenge would work, since all we had were World's tags.

WIth the time of the year and a challenge needing a whole weekend, it might be better to plan gettting the tags going for `07 and have the challenge sometime in Sep-Oct like the previous years.

You got me C-Dub...by the way I think you passed Devan as the best up and coming pro in town. ;)

What you don't like my screw disc golf attitude? Is it that obvious I am starting to hate this game? I've already brushed the cobwebs off my golf clubs and hit the golf course twice in the last couple weeks, it's ugly but my net +12 handicapp will be back together in no time.

Next year I'm mixing in more Ball Golf tournaments and less disc golf tournaments...for anybody interested there is a great doubles tournament in Bentonville Arkansas in late March. 2 days of action and after day 1 your team gets placed in a 10 team pool where you play for pro shop money. The entry fee is $100 a team and you get free range balls and free green fees for an entire week.

The format for 4 rounds:

Best Score
Best Ball
Alternate Shot
6-6-6 (best ball, best score, alternate shot)

Just bought a Taylor Made Hybrid-3...sweet club. :o ;)

He'll be back after the wife sees all the charges for green fees, $100 tournamnet entries, $400 drivers, $35 for a dozen balls(gone after one round) and the fact that when he plays he will be gone a minimum of 5 hours and can't take the dog with him. :o;)

I have a $250 King Cobra I bought on ebay...brand new it was $350. In all, my entire golf set is worth about $1100.

My allowance pays for my disc golf hobby...Why not take the money I spend on Disc Golf and apply it to a junior membership at Indian Springs CC (1st tee is 500 feet from my desk) about $130 a month which includes green fees and golf carts. You have until the age of 35 to stay a junior member so now is the best time for me to do it.

I can't get motivated to play DG anymore anyway.

twoputtok
Dec 20 2006, 04:26 PM
I understand your math and it makes sense. How ever, have you also considered that once you have a membership at ISCC, it will be nearly impossible for you to justify to the wife why you are paying green fees at any other course, when you have a membership at ISCC.
I was in the same situation when I had a membership OGAC, it was great!
For a while, then when I wanted to experience another course, the wife would ask who's paying for that?
"why would you spend the money on playing any where else when we have a membership?"

It gets old playing the same course all the time, even in disc. While I play black, 90% of the time, it is nice to be able to go play any where else with out guilt of it costing more than I pay now.

You know as well as I do, when you get back to your desired handicap, you will want different/more equipment and that stuff is any thing but cheap.

The whole reason I went back to disc, was tee times, equipment costs, green fees and the membership fee was always there wether I played or not.

Golf ain't cheap.

Yes it made total sense...although Indian Springs has 36 holes the temptation of playing other courses is unavoidable. New equipment will always be a factor also; balls, gloves, tees, divot repairs, golf shoes, new spikes, golf clothes the list goes on and on.

What can I say, DG is not as appealing as it used to be...I'll probably play 6-10 total events next year so I'm not giving it up completely, just taking it down a notch.

From Wayne past posts it looks like its 5 to enter and a dollar for Muilgan.

support the Flights events 2 per month the original is a night-round / usually on some of the easier Courses where playing-a-round-of-disc-golf-in-the-dark goes smoothly the new-debut is a day-round at High-Noon / opens up the possibility to play ALL Courses BOTH only a 5-buck entry (less than a mini)

and summing up High-Noon-Flights we had to divert to McClure Park because Mohawk Zoo stayed closed -and- gates-locked 7 hearty souls showed up to play , including the Commish MC on camera-duty , chief-spectator , and vehicle-warm-up-guy (boocoo thanks)
.
.
we were pretty lucky the wet-rain didnt last long MOST of the precipitation was sleet and little-bitty-froze-up-balls-of-ice the sting a little , but they bounce off sometimes youd walk up to your disc to find it with a frozen-glaze coating it Wises bag froze up no really , froze-up ! ... I just carried a short bag : like 2-drivers and 2-putters that I wasnt TOO-attached-to (just in case) everyone kept all their Discs though the footing wasnt TOO bad at all but we did see Billy and Kyle bust-their-humps on a few Tee-Pads feet-in-the-air ; back-n-backside on the ground ( oooh , I bet that bruised) they seemed to shake it off well and learn from Dan and Wise on how the salty ol guys step-and-throw on slick stuff
.
.
competition was still a horse-race late , as all 3 teams were within a stroke-or-two of each other it came down to Billy Lund/Kyle Razmus -and- Dan Bougher/Wayne Forest being tied after 18 at 1-under David Wise/Matt Razmus were at even or 1-over a two-hole playoff ensued after Dan parked us at Hole 1 , Billy had to can his putt from the sidewalk n-i-c-e but then Dan expertly parked Hole 2 , and neither Billy nor Kyle could hit the long putt from waters-edge all-in-all , a fun round thanks guys ...

The tag master himself set me up with that tag. so BITE me!

This sounds like it's "rigged".....Dan can't tan the leather tags on his own so now he has you swiping the tags thru your crack like credit cards just to "brown" them to the proper color. :p.....I guess the darker the tag = the more swipes you had at them.

Your's is almost ready, just a few more swipes and you'll have the coveted BLACK tag. :o

What a sad day it is for Bag Tag Disc Golf when tags of such great importance are left in the hands of pre-school insurance peddlars whose only real joy in life is to explore their dark sexual fantasies by practicing Proctology within the dark hidden closets where their children once played. :(

KelDog and I would love to support Mr. Treat's first mini. How ever we have agreed to take on a volunteer project over spring break in a third world country. We will be working with the locals to support their economy and agricultural businesses along with spending a day working with their finishing industries. While this comes at our own expense and requires a week of excruciatingly hard work out in the elements, we felt that it was our humanitarian duty to help.
Please think of us while on our endeavor over the next week.
We know its going to be hard work but in our hearts we just felt that it was the right thing to do. ;)

You could be there with us if it were not for you own selfishness of providing for your own comfort ahead of others more in need. Yes, you have a new air conditioner, hurrah for you. But just think how that money could be providing for so many of the needs of others. The next time some one asks if you can give to help, think of others and not just yourself. Be a humanitarian and not just another face on the planet. :o

... this Saturday (14th) shows McClure at 11:00am -and- 3:00pm ... and that would be accurate ... however , Mr.BigNicholson has agreed to let me provide a "twist" on the 3:00pm afternoon round ... we'll run it like a "special-edition Saturday-Flights" ... a little-lower entry to play ($5) ; heck maybe even lower depending on the wishes of the Players attending ... could even be $4 -or- $3 ... that's not that much-of-a-factor anyway ... it's all 100% payout ... ca$h ... so , we'll make it whatever TD Nic thinks for an entry ... main thang is to offer mulligans (at a max of $5) ... there's a little fundraiser aspect I'm working on : another supported Tournament for an xtra-kick ... in June , the State Championship is B-Tier ... $10-value player's-packs to all Amateurs ... my goal is to get these player's-packs to all Pro Players as well ... FYI: Mike Treat informed me of some basket abuse out at RedHawk (thanks Mike), hole #15 an #17 need some welding assistance.
