Show offs. I thought the real value of the discs was related to their usefullness and flight. That is why the 2001 rocs and first run ce valks are so expensive. I would never buy and Ice disk as it is hard to find in the bush. IMHO.

Maybe so, but having retrived about a dozen ice or clear discs over the past year, I can say that they're freakin' easy to find in water.

Yeah....that picture doesnot even come close to having all of the rocs. THe ones in the front are the whites....so where are the clears in that picture. The guy is really stretching asking for over $100 for this disc. Put it up at $0.01 and see where it ends up.

I got my order of 2 clear and 3 ice and they all most all look the same 2 are violet and the 2 have a slight light blueish in the rim and 1 is between the 2, how am I support to tell the difference ? :confused:

hmmm. what was your order number. when I called and asked about my clears he said that if they werent clear they would have slight tint in them. I think they made more ices than listed on the sheet to fill clear orders that could not be completed. Thats just what I got from calling on the phone. Out of my 5 clears. 3 are super clear. 2 are clear but have the slightest and I mean slightest tint of blue when viewed at a certain angle. but when hel in another angle appear completely clear. They are fairly easy to distiguish from my ices. though I have 1 that I cant tell if its ice or clear??

I got 2 orange with blue stamps, 178g, exactly matching, Tribal stamped Rocs and am looking for equal trade. Discs must be a matched set with Flagstick stamp. Been through all of our stacks. And we got five of those pink ices (flagstick).

I do need to get this off my chest.
If it weren't for the fact that I knew it was a limited run, I'd be returning 60% of my Special Blends. Is this amateur day down at the grinding wheel? Roughly 60% of 40 discs have gouges and grinds into the meat of the nose. One even has some flashing still intact. I wouldn't mind this on a regular-priced disc, but c'mon guys, these are Champ Rocs! I expect more out of your premium release!

my discs were waiting for me when i got home today, and i was very pleased when i pulled them out of the box. the red and blue special blends are grippy and look like they will be a great addition to my bag. the blue tribal i got has a silver stamp that fluoresces rainbow when tilted in the light and is very sweet looking.
the only question i have goes out to anyone who got the climo glo rocs. i ordered 2 of them and received one with a blue stamp and one with a red stamp, but they look like completely different discs. the blue-stamped roc is totally flat and pure white, but the red-stamped has a significant dome and looks almost tan/yellowish and doesn't glow very well in the dark. has anyone else noticed this about the glos? has anyone thrown them to see if they fly differently?

If you are in the Kalamazoo, Michigan area and you need your USDGC roc and can't wait, check out "The Ace Place" in Galesburg. They have a pretty good selection of the reds and blues for $35 I think. If you're in K-zoo and bid on one on ebay before checking that store you're an idiot. Unfortunately, I don't remember all the ones they had.

My Rocs came in today. Out of the four Rocs I ordered, two were correct. Nice.
I'm all for supporting the Championship, but there was no call, nor E-mail, just substitutions.
A call would have been nice. I'm not that picky, one is off a few grams (not really a big deal), but I would have said no pink to the other.
At least the Gators were okay.

Unrealistic expectations. You might have been able to get a 30-100% ROI in a week, but more than that will take some time.

According to the Shopping Cart there are still 292 180g Blue Special Blends, still plenty of discs for those who didnt get them. There are still Glows in 178. 179 and 180 grams, not sure how many available

The special blends had the mostest discs made so of course they will appreciate the slowest. Your best bet is that they fly great for everybody and they start getting used up. But there is no fast buck in it. If they beat up too fast, making people want more sooner, the people won't want them because $25 is a lot for a disc that beats up fast. If they beat up real slow, then the value goes up nicely but takes a long time.

The Tribal Stamps had the fewest made. Those were the ones to grab.

the Special Blend could be the 2001 of the future, if a lot of people throw them, they hold up to abuse and people like them. These are the ones that will be thrown the most. 25% Could just be thrown see how they fly. I would think that more people will want to try and throw the SB's because the other roc's from the past few years are basically all the same

I have to disagree with you rhett. I think the spectator run roc is the one to have out of the "regular" run of rocs. Also, while there may be more of the special blends made this year, there is considerably less made overall than the regular (2003,2004, and 2005) see through candy plastic CE rocs. The only thing I can see seperating the 2005 regular CE roc with that of the 2003 and 2004 is the stamp. I think in the future being able to advertise that you are selling an ontario mold CE Roc will bring more money (that is if they don't make this special blend year after year).

Since I couldn't buy a Spectator Roc, I don't consider it a "regular run" CE Roc. I was talking about the Rocs that were available to buy on the day they went on sale.

I am not sure how correct you are Rocco in regaruds to the mold establishing value. The 03 discs were an 8X Roc (arguably the best ever) mold and I have never seen one pimped on e-bay or anywhere other than this board that they were an 8X mold. The special belnds may turn out to be great but it will not be becasue they are an Ontario mold.IMHO

If they turn our to be great I think it will be a product of how they fly regardless of what mold they came out of. That plastic feels much closer to old school CE plastic than the clearer rocs. I know it is supposed to be the same stuff they used in the other rocs but I am sceptical about that due to how much differnet it feels and looks. I have not seen an opaque candy disc until this disc.

I've been selling the opaque red spectator runs on ebay since last October. Same type of plastic as the special blend but alot flatter. I agree with the spectator run being the one to collect for what Rhett said.

These were'nt available unless you were there. And the ones they did have sold out. Therefore the only way to get them was be there, have a nice friend who was there pick one up or get them through the aftermarket. And I've said it before that there were small quanities of certain ones at the championship. Those are the ones to get and hold on to.

I really don't care about a few grams, that is not going to be the big issue here, but the color is the issue. I ordered a purple tribal and orange flagstick. I got a green tribal and red flagstick. My order number was #90 so I know that the discs that I had ordered were there and ready to be taken, by me. I did not get a phone call or email asking if these were okay or if I would like to substitue something else. But gee whiz guys, order #90 should have been alot closer and since they were what I ordered, I expected those discs.

I did get the special blend red and blue, but I will have to say that I am disappointed in the making of these discs. As someone stated earlier on this thread, the gouges in the middle above the nipple are very noticable. Not the quality that I expected from a fund raiser disc priced so high.

I guess I would not be stating that ZoneDriven or INNOVA were a good traders if I was on another thread. (for this transaction)

Enough of my tirades, now for a couple of suggestions that would probably take care of all of the issues of color and stamps, weights will probably always be an issue.

Suggestion #1 - Go back to ONE color, except maybe for a glow.

I believe the best course of action is to contact Innova or Zonedriven if you're unsatisfied. If you don't want to do that then I will offer to purchase both your's and 408's 2 wrong colored ROCS from you at the price you paid.

Seriously, why is color such a big deal??? You're still supporting the USDGC, a great cause, whether it's green or blue or red or purple or whatever... If you're solely buying the discs to collect and make a profit, maybe you need to lok at where your priorities lay as they are obviously not with aiding in funding an event which helps to further disc golf as a game... I mean, that is the whole purpose of the CFR Rocs... right??? Just my two cents... I don't care if my Rocs are the most common color ever or the most ugliest disc on earth... I'm just glad to know that I helped to support such a wonderful event. IMO :D

I'm not trying to argue with anyone here. My point is this. If you're unhappy with the product or service then you contact that vendor and resolve the issue. Especially when the owner of the company comes on here and tells everyone that they will happily refund any substitutions the customer was unhappy with.

Now I completely understand that it's frustrating to order something and not get what you want. And you as a customer feel like you should be contacted at a moments notice if there is a change. I won't say this is an excuse but those folks busted thier humps working alot of extra hours to get all those orders filled and shipped and there are probally a few that slipped through the cracks and did'nt get a contact. So call them, email them or send them snail mail and let them know. They said they will work to correct the problem. Unlike other companies that will just give you a runaround, they are taking commenets and suggestions on how to handle the problem to make next years offering run smoother. And at the same time keeping everyone updated on here.

I guess one of my issues is this board and how it seems easier to come on here and criticize rather than deal with the problem. The other issue is the folks that for whatever reason missed out on this oppurtunity altogether. They didn't get anything while those that did score talk about the wrong color or being off by a few grams. Same thing happened last year and like last year I offered to buy the "unwanted discs".

Just a personal grievance I guess.

BTW I didn't hear about many pinks offered at all. Heck they may be rarer than the clears and ices. :D:D

As a side note. If this is about supporting the championship while getting what you want then may I suggest ordering the partners package. $50 gets you a host of goodies and at the same time gives you first pick of the CE ROCS.

AT the championship this year while we were sorting the discs and getting ready, someone was outside ushering the Partner Pass holders up to the front of the line. Imagine being the first to walk into a room full of CE ROCS and say hmmmmmm I 'll take that one and this one......

If someone has a max-weight pink they don't want I'll trade you for it. Mine should get here tomorrow so I'll see what I ended up with.

Rick, I still don't think you get it, I don't care about the color. The color part is more funny than anything else.
I don't want a refund, I want the Championship to have my money. I purchased these to support the Championship, having something cool on the wall afterwords is just a perk.

I was one of the ones who missed out last year because I was driving to a tournament the day they went on sale, and they were gone by the time I got back. That is why at the '04 Championship it was important to me that I was able to buy some there, and last Wed as well.

Just as everyone who is pleased with their service should be able to post publicly how they feel, so should I.
I actually started an e-mail to ZD about the situation, but I have really no suggestions for them to prevent this from happening. Maybe someone reading about the situation may have a suggestion, or better yet, a solution. I'm not going to say that someone need to just fix it and not be able to give a suggestion how.

So just to make it clear, I don't care about the weight or color of the discs, I don't want a refund, and I don't want to trade. I just wanted a phone call, thats all. I don't think that was too much to ask.

Throughout the'05 Roc release, we have been trying to to balance folks' expectations for receiving what they ordered versus when they would get it. We used our experience to develop a "contact threshhold" for substitution to keep the process rolling. Clearly in your case, the threshhold was too high. For you and the other USDGC supporters for whom we did not contact before substituting, I apologize.

Yours and similar posts have helped to idnetify an area for improvement for next year. We need to review our "contact threshold" or consider not having one at all. It may be better to set aside the < 100% match orders until contact is made. Hopefully, there will be fewer of these with some of the other improvements we are considering including increased inventory buffers, streamlined payment options, and enhanced server capacity.

Got mine yesterday...2 178 Glows, 2 178 Red Tribals, and 2 179 Blue Flagsticks. Unless the Tribals and Flagsticks throw differently, I doubt I'll have one of each in the bag in the same red, white, and blue order that they were in when I opened the box! Good job guys on getting mine right and quick!

I hate to say it, but an auction really does seem like the best idea...it wouldn't necessarily have to be on eBay. I'm sure the people who designed the ZD website could make it work. Like My-Hero said (and maybe a few others), you could take pictures of each stamp and color, and use a dutch auction style, or just post them all individually. Let those who want the rarest ones fight it out. I don't care as much about the color. I'll pick the ones that will still go for $25. My favorite is the glow candy (which, inadvertantly, is still in stock at ZD), and I don't think enough people have actually thrown the glow ones to appreciate them!

Harold and crew, seriously consider some type of format like this for next year. It really could bring in alot more for the USDGC and sport in general, even though the rarer ones will likely end up on eBay later. And the 50 disc limit this year seemed kind of crazy...even if there were alot more available. Some people got in over their heads (not your fault, however) and ordered more than they really expect to pay for!

Overall, better than last year. I got a light pearl last year that I didn't like right away, but after an ace a few days ago with it, it's kind of growing on me.

Got two rocs yesterday. I ordered one heavy red special blend and other heavy xout standard. I got right color and weight special blend roc. Other is Heavy Light blue ice with purple zonedriven stamp. I am satisfied! Thanks to Zonedriven! :D

As a dedicated lurker and small time CE Roc collector [by the way does anyone but me still actually throw the '01?] - I encountered the web log jam on the opening day and opted for letting the nice lady [Jennifer?] who took my call go ahead and take my order for entry later, even after she informed me there were no guarantees - I just couldn't blow the whole afternoon hitting refresh. Ultimately I received essentially what I wanted [5 - 4 to keep and 1 to throw - if I end up liking how they fly]

Bottom line - small timer- got what he wanted - system/people did OK by me.

i don't even know if my order was 100% correct! it was such a circus getting them ordered i can't even remember what i got. i think they are all correct. of course i wasn't trying to get any specific colors or stamps. i do know i ordered 2 170 orange and one is very clear and bright orange and the other is more opaque and peachy orange....weird , eh?

If you can make it to Ross Hills in West Lafayette for the Ross Hills Riot on May 1 you will see what I do with most of my Champ Rocs. I give them away as CTPs at my tournaments. In fact, I still have a couple of '04s that I did not giveaway last year, so I expect plenty of fun CTPs at this event. For one of the shorter holes I will likely give away an '04 and an '05 as well as an '05 for Am and Pro divisions each.

Me 2. I got the most common though, a Red max SB and a Glo max. The Red is probaly the best Roc I have ever felt. Ever.Ever.

Just curious as to what people's X-out's look like...I have two: one that has both the tribal and flagstick stamp and one that has a ZoneDriven stamp.

my x-outs all have the zonedriven stamp - and they're all full of chocolate chips :) the color is yellow-ish and has a neat star splattering of different yellow coming from the center :cool:

My SB x-out is double stamped, barely offset, looks real cool :cool:
My glow has 4 different color KC 4x stamps and a SB stamp.
The Zonedriven has browish flakes in the plate.

You've got to give away the best of all your Roc's for the CTP on hole 16 at Ross Hills. That steep downhill anhyzer is almost impossible. I've actually got within 20 feet from the red tee with my Breeze, but missed the putt because there was a tree in my way. I'm a grad student at Purdue, so I'll try to make the riot in May and win a Roc.

In other news, my Rocs are here. They've been in town since Monday, but I've been on campus all day every day when they've tried to deliver them. So, I rode the bus to the UPS plant to get them today. I've got a glow with purple stamp, a light blue tribal with white stamp, and a blue special blend with red stamp, all 179 exactly like I ordered. All are in good condition and ready for a field test run this weekend. I'm absolutely satisfied with my first Champion Roc experience.

After watching many of you gloat these past few days, I finally got my Rocs. I'm mostly pleased, but a tad bit disappointed in that the max weight tribals and flagsticks I ordered lost a gram or so by the time they were delivered (they were 177 and 179 g). It would have been nice to get at least 1 that was 180, but it's no big deal. Things worked out much better than last year when the max weight Rocs I ordered became 170 g Rocs when delivered.

ZD deserves kudos for improving the ordering system this year and getting thousands of these things out so quickly. I'm also impressed with the way Harold is looking for ways to make it better. There probably is no perfect system, but the one in place worked pretty good for me.

Did anyone else get a Roc in a Rhyno packaging? My blue Tribal came in a Rhyno bag. I thought it was kind of funny, and wondering if anyone else had the same thing happen.

Mine said Banshee! My wife opened the box when it got here and called me on the phone. She said, "You got a red one and a Banshee". I thought it was too funny! I asked her to flip the disc over and read the stamp on the back.

So since mine came in a Banshee bag, will it fly futher than your Rhyno roc? :D

They put the top disc in a bag to protect the stamp from scuffs. I don't think I have ever gotten one in a ROC bag.

aviar bag!! and my x-outs all look great (4) all different colors and just a few speckles.one is a cool aqua type blue. All zonedriven stamps.4 more on the way!! :D

Seems that the x-outs with the zone driven stamp will be rarest stamp of all of the 2005 Rocs. Glad I snagged a few before they sold out.

By the way, what's the latest count on number of discs left? Seems that only glow rocs remain.

I got mine today baby. One came in an Aviar bag so I figure it's gonna be the most accurate and another in a Banshee bag so I guess it's a long flier. They look great and are exactly what I ordered.

I find it interesting how little color is in the blue 180 tribal. Mostly just some around the edge. My two pink 180 Flagsticks are very different in color and also very clear. One looks pink on the edge and the other actually looks like a violet ice that's posted on eBay right now that did not sell for $169 (or any price so far). I guess when the discs are so clear, it's hard to be consistent with the amount of color.

I also got two 180 green Flagsticks and 3 red special blends. I love how the special blends feel. They seem more grippy. Hope they fly great. Planning on throwing some tomorrow. I'll post how they fly for me. Gotta beat up a few of these so the rest rise in value right? Let's see some more posts about flights of these bad boys (or girls if that's the way ya wanna name 'em).

Typical 178 Red SB with a blue/silver stamp
178 Glo with a purple stamp
178 X-Out Yellow Tribal with a blue X-Out stamp and little black flakes. Does anyone's X-Out have an X-Out stamp on it?

"Purple" Flagsticks is more like a clear pink.

The special blend is a sweet feeling/looking plastic. I wish I would've gotten a blue to go with the red.

I like my blue SB 180. Not completely comfortable throwing it for everything, but it's good for wide open shots for now. Holds an anhyzer well. Slowly comes out. Only thrown it a few shots during a couple rounds.

I've only thrown my blue 180 SB a few times. It seems to be pretty straight. Very grippy. Very nice disc!

My box of Rocs just arrived. To SWEET! Got pretty much exactly what I ordered, weights perfect. Now I've got to go throw one of the SB's.

I just finished my first round with the 2005 Champ Rocs and I'm in love all over again. It was worth the anticipation, online craziness and the price.

180 green Flagstick: Flies very similar to my 2004 Roc but just a tad more overstable (Of course the '04 has seen some heavy use). In general, a disc that slowly creeps to the left when thrown straight (RHBH) as the flight progresses. I had no fear I would turn it over, even when I cranked on it.

178 Red Special Blend: Very, very sweet. It's nice and grippy and feels great in the hand. I don't have a disc that acts like this yet for me so I love it. It holds whatever line it's put at for 80% of it's flight and then barely starts to fade. I thought it might turn over if I cranked it but when I released it with just the slightest of a hyzer, it stayed on that line through the flight and did not flip at all. I threw it with a high anhyzer on a big dog-leg right hole and it stayed over without coming out (until maybe just at the end but it was out of sight behind trees). For me, throw it straight--->goes straight. Throw it hyzer--->Goes left. Throw it anhyzer--->Goes right. My Buzz doesn't do that or any other Rocs I have. I would call it my most stable, or "holds its line" disc ever. It also gets as much distance as any of my Roc throws do so no sacrifice on distance. I can't wait for it to get light tomorrow so I can get out an chuck it some more.

Other points of note. I play at 5800ft in Colorado so the air is a bit thinner here. I'll have to see how they fly down in AZ at the Memorial. Also, we have quite the rocky course and I could discern no nicks or other damage after the round. A scuff mark or two but these puppies should hold up as well as any disc should be expected to.

Also...this run won't get any more collectable unless we get out there and get some out of *Mint* condidtion since they made so many. Grab a few from your piles, pull out your sharpie, add your mark and chuck them. They are meant to be flown, they fly great and will bring at least THIS golfer more enjoyment lowering scores than collecting dust. I'm gonna hold one to collect and the others for throwing stock. I also like gnduke's idea of giving them away (maybe just 1-2) as CTPs at a my tournament this June. Happy Roc-kin! :D

I got two tribals, two glows already and have two SB's that arrived today but Ill have to wait til monday to get those. I REALLY like the feel of the glows, going out tommorow to test it against my '01.

Also, while I like the blue tribal I got, I was sorta picturing it being more like the '04 blue, darker, etc....

Checked out mine today. I got two 179 orange tribals, 2 177 purple flags, two 175 yellow flags, and a 174 yellow flag. The only difference with my order was that I ordered 3 175's, but I don't care about a difference of 1g, and they're still the same color.

I'm willing to trade or sell any of these, if anyone is interested.

Overall I was happy with the ordering process. They did fairly well with a difficult situation.

Thanks for the throw reports all who posted. I threw my SB for one round and am loving the straitnes right out the gate! I think that once these get a little worn, they will be the go to disc for laser throws. One even said it was LONGER than all others. Anybody else find this? Iv not enough experience to comment but it seems true. God knows, i need it! I hope to post more as the snow melts (ARG!)

Anyone get an ace yet with their '05 Rocs? I just got one on hole 18 in Montrose with my 180 Green Flagstick! Luckily my wife agreed to walk with me for the round and she witnessed it.

That Roc is my new favorite disc at the moment! I think it's a little more overstable than last year's Rocs. Anyone else have similar experiances?

Sucks about the stolen Rocs!

Got mine a few days ago and threw them for the first time yesterday. Love it! I used to throw Rocs years ago....got away from them..... I am now back into them. Got 3 in the bag right now....various stages of beat in. My 05 holds the line I put it on for more then 80% of the flight....just like someone else posted. Red Special Blend - 179. I dont think they are as stable as other years.

Im very happy with the 05's and cant wait to see what happens with them once the snow subsides from the area. In below freezing temps they are still grippy, cant wait for the sun to warm them up!

I beleive I'd be doing some door knocking and talking to some parents. :mad:

I have been down this road with UPS before. You will get your money but is will take some time. They have a certain amount of time to leave the claim open to see if the gods return your stolen shipment. Sharpen your knife and be prepared to cut some red tape.

I had fedex leave a guitar at my work on a saturday night before. we did not get to work till monday and it snowed all day. guitar was ruined. looked at the fedex racking and it was signed by F. Rontdoor. Nice frontdoor signed for my package. luckily I got my money back and got to keep the ruined guitar which I sold the parts of. sorry about your luck.

I left work early last Friday because I knew they would leave that box at my door. I got home, 30 minutes later door bell rang, before I opened the door the guy left the box and drove off. Glad I was there, over $1200 worth of plastic there.

Same thing happened at my house.

I know what you mean. I wasn't at my office one Friday afternoon. UPS stuck a package in our mailbox hangin by the front door of the office. Luckily I came by that Saturday and found the package. I opened it and there was a check from one of our customers for 15K. I'd bet my Monday that would have been gone and I would have had some major headaches. :(

Funny, UPS always makes sure to get a signature from me, I always get those little notes that say Delivery Attemp 1 or 2 or what not. They only need a signature though, if the sender requires it, they can pick require signature, require signature of anyone over 21, or signature not required. So, no, they definitely do not always have to have a signature, just most companies/senders select that option. I actually wish they'd just leave it in my door or at my front door as I always have to drive a million miles across town to go pick up my package and then it takes forever, I waited for almost an hour and a half once before they figured out where it was...

i arrived home one day and found my new chip set sitting on my porch!! i had just purchased it on e-bay!! what the hell i thought to my self!!!

Correct me if I'm wrong... UPS will leave a package if you live at a private residence. If you live in an apartment, or flat of a house with apt. # they won't leave the package. You have to have your OWN address for them to leave it. Can't share the address with anyone else. Not that that helps your situation any. They leave stuff at our house all of the time. But 2 years ago when I lived on the bottom flat of a house they would not leave it. Perhaps this just depends on the driver too. I worked there several years ago but didn't do the deliveries so I could be wrong. Fedex left an ibook on our porch for Christ's sake. That was scary.

My little box-o-rocs was setting next to my back step. The UPS guy covered it with the mat I have on the back step when it snows. No one would ever think to look UNDER the mat!!

So...what happened to that "ultra rare" $165 ice roc (or whatever it was) that some guy was trying to sell on ebay? I forgot to check it out before the auction ended. Does anybody know? Did he sell it? Did his wife find out he was full of garbage? Things that make you go hmmm...

The last I remember was a post from him (roc steady?) that said something like "my wife is gonna be ******...blah blah...I had to lower the price to $89...blah blah blah..."

I find the prices paid for 2005 rocs on eBay higher than expected. Seems that $40 or more is what people are paying for a flagstick or tribal stamp. That's a pretty nice mark-up for a disc that was released only 2 weeks ago. Given that twice as many rocs were available this year than last, I anticipated the supply to exceed the demand. Apparently not. Wonder if they will continue to appreciate in value or if people are just over-reacting to a newly available disc.

I just received my Special Blend in the mail and WOW, I am really impressed with this disc! Whatever additive Dave added to the Champion plastic to make it slightly more girppier is great! I've always like Ontarios, but they're always so hard and ungrippy... this is the perfect plastic (besides old CE :D) for this disc. And an Ontario that won't get beaten??? It really doesn't get any better than that!

Okay... I'm done now... got a little over-excited about this disc! :D

My UPS guy used to be an avid disc golfer too. He plays casual rounds with a Stratus and an MRV (he putts with the MRV, and he is still very good!). Anyway, if we are not home, he hangs on to my boxes and leaves me a phone message ("hope you get home before I open these myself..."). :cool: :D

Why can't ken sign his own discs for profit? Hese the top pro in our sport and only made about 22K last year! Give the guy (my hero) a friggin break! If you dont like it, dont buy it! It seems you have a problem with anybody making a profit! You should be happy to see Rocs go for big prices as it means that you did not just shell out 25 bucks for a disc that cost 3 bucks to produce and is not going to be worth something. You act like your some anti collector movement trying to kill the values of discs. (In any event, that is what your doing- think about it; say someone is thinking about buying a collector disc, then they read the things you say about it: something like "Only a fool would buy that" You think thell buy it then? So then that buyer goes away and the market gets a little depressed for it). Maybe your just an angry little man, and can't help it. In that case, I feel sorry for you, but please, if you dont have anything nice to say about collector discs, Shut up! Now, I think Im gonna list a Roc for 1 Million Dollars! I had a cloudy white on traded to me with the original stamp that came from the tourney and it is almost as stable as the 01, feels around the same as far as the flatness. The glow rocs look to be stable like the 01s as well, but the other regular run does not seem as flat more of a dome...

the spectator 05 roc i had threw quite overstable, not like an 01, but close, it too was quite flat, the sb i have throws exactly like a brand new Ontario after i flexed it a little, with maybe a little more resistance to high speed turn, about the tribals and flagsticks... i have no idea as I havent thrown them, but i'd assume they throw just like the spectator rocs as they are the exact same mold/plastic...

threw my special blends yesterday and was super impressed. All I throw is marino and ontario rocs and this one is a keeper. Great glide. Nice straight line. Just an all around perfect flight. I love the plastic. Finally a champion roc that I can throw.

just finished throwing my 5 new special blend. yep thats right 5 more that are not mint. These discs are the absolute shizznit. I love the flight characteristics. This is one hot disc. Just about perfect for those lazer beam shots. a little fade at the end and a heck of a lot of glide. My first 2 shots were with my 178 reds and they both landed within 3 feet of eachother. These things are great. SO if you are the kind of person who likes beat up rocs...this is the one for you. I think this will end up being the big collectible after all is done and said. I really think that this is a disc that many people are going to end up throwing. Meaning the stack of mint ones will surely dwindle over the years. I know I wont be selling anoy of mine EVER. 1 in the bag already. and 1 in the back up bag.

I've got a few, but won't be down that way for a while.

I threw my 180 blue SB WOW!!! I also throw Sannys. For me this disc acts very similiar to a San Marino. It has lots of glide and holds lines perfectly. It has that pinpoint accuracy aspect that I know everyone will love. I think these will be the disc that people want later down the line.
It would be great if this plastic became a production type. It has great feel and flexes which I think the clear plastic lacks in heavier weights.

for those of you who still need some champion rocs for a decent price. discovering the world seems to have a bunch at $35. A decent price for sure. thought id pass along the info. that is after I snagged the ones I wanted.

how many were run? why are they so expensive? it would seem to me that there would be less demand for a 150 class roc, especially in windy areas, than a normal roc, so is part of the $50 paying for the boat ride over from japan? /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Just picked up my two Rocs from the postman. Max weight Glow and Special Blend. Plastic on the Glow isnt exactly uniform, kinda dissappointed. Haven't thrown the Special Blend yet, is it like an 02'?

I received my two 180 clears, one 180 ice, and one 180 SB today. You know, you would think it would be easy to tell which discs were the clears. :confused:

At least they all look sweet. I'm pleased overall.

I put my 175 Yellow Flagstick on Ebay yesterday.

I'm really suprised they didn't make more in the middle weights(174-6). Are those weights not popular in Champion Rocs or is there another reason?

everyone seemed to want a lot of 180's last year, so I think they made more. Isn't 180 what most people collect at that weight.

I got 2 out of my three packages today..2 180 Red SB, 2 180 Blue SB, 1 Orange 180 Tribal, 1 Pink 179 Flagstick, 2 179 X Outs and 1 180 X-out.

I ordered 2 SB Xouts and 1 Standard Xout and really have a tough time telling the difference. The 179 are suppose to be the SB and the 180 the standard. The 180 grams disc is Yellow with some flakes in it and the 179 is blue and the other is yellow with flakes.

Anyone know if there is an obvious difference between the two xouts

My flagstick is very flat and my SB are domey, but my tribal is just as domey as the SB and all my xouts are domey also. At least in comparision to how flat the pink flagstick is

flagstick and tribal are identical molds!! unless you have mis-stamps!!

The SB's are the Ontario Mold, which is why they are domier.

I just picked up another blue 180 SB from In Flight. One Observation is that my other 180 SB that I received from Zone Driven is completely opaque. No light penetrates the blue. But light penetrates the new Blue 180 I just got from In Flight just like the red 180 I have.

So now I have one red and one blue that are semi opaque SB's and one completely opaque 180 blue SB.

I am throwing the 180 completely opaque and love it I wonder if the semi opaque flies the same?

I've got a stamp question for you all, well two...
My yellow tribal has a marbled green stamp that is kind of pearly irridescent, has anyone else seen this kind of stamp before?
also my purple flagsticks' stamp is just the opposite of every one that i have seen on ebay... meaning that if you can read the stamp it is at the 6 O'clock position where as the rest that I have seen are at the 12 O'clock position. So the top of my stamp is towards the center not the rim. just an observation that I have made.

I didn't try to buy my discs on day 1 and thus had absolutely no problems getting discs(i wasn't going for all stamps)

ON another note.
I Bought a "Standard X-out" at 179Grams.. It is a Transparent Orange/Yellow with a ZoneDriven Red Foil STamp.
My Only beef with this disc is that it is identical to my 180 Special Blend and it looks nothing like my 180 Glow Roc.
Does this make it an Xout Special Blend and also rarer that it has the ZoneDriven Stamp?

I am going out golfing at Landis Park in VIneland, NJ (only a few courses in Jersey and only 1 in south Jersey) And i definately want to put 1 of my rocs in the bag.
If my X-out was incorrect or actually valuable i willl throw my Special Blend or my Glow roc(because i can still get more) Instead..

Someone LMK if you know anythinga bout the x-outs.

There are several factors contributing to the price. First, discs in Japan cost more. Normal Champion goes for twenty, and DX for fifteen each. Second, Supply and demand, only available in Japan. Third, converting money from usd to yen involves a transaction charge (and is a pain). Fourth, shipping as you mentioned the boat ride over. Fifth, cost of transportation, it costs four dollars a gallon of gas, four dollars to enter the park, and five dollars to park at the park to be able to buy the discs. All these factors add up to an expensive disc. The reason for 150, is thats all your able to throw in the parks here due to safety concerns. Be thankful your in the us and can throw the heavy weights. I actually had my 150 aviar flip end over end for another five feet in a strong wind once after doinking of the basket and rolling 20 feet away. That being said, its the only candy roc that is available outside the usdgc and therefore is a must have addition to any true collection of rocs. The last one I saw on ebay sold for 59 bucks without shipping.

what is the stamp and is this an 05 roc . is there a particular run!!????

The stamp is "Innova Disc Golf by Hero disc" with a "mold by roc" under that. They are not 2005 specific as they were available before that. Mine says Rancho on the bottom if thats any help. Anyone interested in one?
