Always a fun time in AZ. Im hoping for the same exact weather just a little warmer then this year. I had to use HAND WARMERS in AZ :eek: for my early moring rounds. The weather was perfect though later in the day.

It's time! Its time!! The event of events! This will be my third trip, thanks to steve Ganz(last cash Adv. ) I hope we can play Fountain Hills this year. Im driving out on Wed before, so I will be lookin for some warm up.
There is not much area to practise rollers out here...I will have to make do.

Yup, we tried to jam too many people through last year. If it's only one course again, we'll have to cap around 220-240. We started with 265 last year. Oops.

It is going to be NUTZ. Ill have just come from Vegas and ill be spending the ENTIRE week in Scottsdale before the tournament. It was INSANE last year and im sure it can only get better. I cant wait to get some revenge on Vista. I played pretty bad there for what kind of course it is.

actually in all seriousness he had a copy of the tentative flyer and said a couple of things needed to be fixed before making it public....
and the last i heard the webmaster was in the balkans or somewhere in a post-russian country(seriously)

hopefully the field will be limited this year to the number of players that can play in daylight hours :eek: which makes it all the more critical with 2 months to go to get the flyers out so people can get them back in.....

i trust that dan-o is working everything out as we speak to make that happen

We've been stalling since the Fountain is still unplayable, and Dan was trying to line up a a 2nd good course. At this time it looks like it's going to be just Vista again, and the field will be smaller than last year so we don't have people playing in the dark and finsihing the next morning.

The Am Worlds website is almost ready to go too.

I have heard about this event for too long and I am going to make it this year.Looks like a large Texas group will be there.

I hope I can get to PHX (Texas just beat Michigan in the Rose Bowl) this year. It has got to be one of the best tourneys around. People are just psyched to play the first NT of the year. The cream of the crop is always there for this desert classic. And with the Fountain course unplayable, you don't even need a car for the weekend. There's free food and spirits at the course hotel and Flicka's and Duke's can easily fill your idle time. I'm sure there'll be some Texas Hold 'em going on in more than one hotel room.

I just hope that I can keep up with Russell! Dern local knowledge. Just maybe I can stay away from the OB this year. It was brutal last year. I hope that last year's trainwreck/back-up on the early holes has been re-designed for quicker play too.

Dan Doyle, the 2005 NT Agreement that Steve and I were given recently set the minimum NT entry fee at $75. We're happy to have been instrumental in bringing about that change.

The passage is 403C:

"Entry fees fixed are required to be a minimum of US$75.00 for all
divisions and may not exceed US$125.00 for MPO and US$100.00 for all other divisions. Additional regional and or local fees may also be applied by HOST."

With the field being about 40 people less, hopefully we will be able to play the same course with no problems. Dano says he may delete some of the mandys. The big delays happened on holes 4 thru 7. Some of the Grands and some of the women had trouble thru there, so that may have to be tweaked as well.

So I don't slow up the GM Pros, I'm entering Advanced under the new 'Pros in Am division' option for 2005.

You should try some of the desert courses. The one called Buffalo Ridge, is a pretty good 18 holer, lots of elevation but it will destroy your discs, because of the rocks. The fountain still is the best :(

All but about 4 holes are playable. It's still a good course, but you will need to detour around the construction areas. I think when they finish (if they finish) some holes will need to be moved around.

KL, None of those holes will be changed. How could we? They all are great holes. I don't think Dan is going to change anything but the mandys on the front. With the smaller field it should work. As far as I know the money should be the same, or better, even with less entries. :)

We've played the same position for a few years now, and last year was the only time there was a problem. I'm for putting it in the harder spot, but Dan may put it down low, in which case, I'm sure that mandy will be in play.

I hope the weather gets better by tourney time. We got pounded yesterday. The river at Vista is flowing. 2" of rain, a couple inches of hail, funnel clouds, tornando warnings.

Flagstaff had over 22" of snow in town. Snowbowl had to close because of blizzard conditions.

For the 1st time since 1998 the Salt river is flowing.

If you are an amatuer, then I am guessing you are talking somewhere between 470' and 530' without serious wind assistance. Saying you throw REALLY REALLY far leaves a lot up for interpretation. Oh and since this is a message board, feel free to allot yourself another 20' more than you really can, I'll just do the math myself to get the actual. ;)

I can't quite tell if you are referring to DVince or Big_Pimp. But if you are referring to DVince, I just wanted to let you know he was talking about a 400'+ ace. And when you ace, it is impossible to 3 or "FO" putt. And Dave is pretty good too, so you can't pull that "all talk and no game" routine. Last year was his first year doing tournaments and he was in the top 10 for six out of seven tournaments, not bad. And of those six he was in the top five for three of them. This means he can actually play, at least statistically, but we will all see that this year, again, as he improves to be an even better player.
