I'm in Tucson (about 100 miles south east of Scottsdale), and just heard my first thunder. Not good...
If you're in Tuscon, that's another good reason that scores aren't being posted! ;)
Nah, Theo seems to have been on top of things. Don't know who else was helping (the Marshalls???), but I think things were working pretty well, other than a bad link at disqman.com (my fault) I think things look good.
...don't quote me, but the weather map [a page/so ago] seems to 'renew' itself. And it looks pretty 'colourful' in that area right now.
I'm quoting. Yeah, man. That's a lot of purple. ****!
If it self-renews, that's one keen feature! Gonna have to figure that one out...well, replicate it, for other tourney threads; how it works is beyond me...
It's a link from weather.com.
http://image.weather.com/images/sat/regions/southwest_sat_720x486.jpg
Apparently they continuously update the image, so that link always points to the most recent picture.
Ah...thanks! I should be able to just use the same one; we're inclusive in that 'jurisdiction'.

Nice Job Conner a 6 way tie for 9th
come on K.M. :cool:GET'M
I know it says they're all par-3s, but realistically, hole 2 is a par-4, hole 3 is almost a par-2, but with ob possible..
Hole 4, unless much easier than last year, is a very tough duece, so all those twos are awesome (it's reachable, but very risky). Hole 5 & 6 are in the 550' range, so depending on wind, one of them usually plays like a par-4.
Hole 12 (I think) is almost a par-4, depending on pin-position, and hole 14 is definetly a par-4.

just curious did AMs and Open play the same course? Never been to Arizona so sorry if this is a dumb question
jim partially answered this but i was there so i know the rundown...
ams played NONE of the same course as the pros...
ams played 12(twelve)holes the same as pros tee to basket BUT DID NOT have the ob sidewalks, played none of the added holes....women pro master, and grand master also did NOT play the same course as open men, open women, and pro master men.....
must stay in bounds
keith
Oh yeah, I forgot about all the added OB for the pros. Thanks Keith.
keithjohnson
Mar 07 2005, 04:24 PM
no problem..i wish i could forget about all the ob's for pros...
16 ob strokes and 12 of them were a total of 5 feet added together from being in bounds :p
i hit trash cans that were laying down on the ob line, grass and sidewalk joints that bounced back, skip and rolls from 150 feet that laid inches outside the line, palm fronds that kicked ob....i had them all
one day i'll play THREE good rounds at that course
Next year Im wearing a cup on hole 7-8 because that hole kicked me square in the nuts for +9 worth of bogie strokes. OUCH!

Better check again there Keithy. There's a disclaimer on disqman about why the entry fees were more than the max for NTs. Didn't say Open, but could have been, so your MAX means nothing.
Anway if it was 150 then that's 20013 in prizes against 14400 in entries for 139% payback. If it was 125 then a whopping 167%.
But if women was 150 then it's 100% and if 125 then 120%. If women was only 100 then it was 150%.
So what was women? From somebody who knows. Not keith. :D

from the q&a on the discman site:
Why is the Entry fee so high? Isn't there a $125 limit on Majors
The AZDGC is being charged a fee to use the park for this tournament; this fee has been added to the player entry fees. That is why the entry is above the maximum in some divisions.
i apologize for my error as the division i played in(masters)was the 100 fee per the national tour guidelines

It would only be a foot fault if the disc was still in my hand. As you see it was after release and half way threw my follow threw which is perfectly legal :D

You were sloshed enough that you shook my hand and then didn't let go for about two minutes! :D
So what? No AM deserved it more. I just couldn't believe you were out putting the morning after, and so early even.
BTW, who threw their painted trophy disc against the wall outside of Duke's? I'd like to tell the owner what happened to it.

I would like to second that comment. I was at Dans house helping put the players packs together and I was talking with him and Sue and they bust there butts to make that tournament happen and I really appreciate everything that they do for the sport and the tournament.
Thanks again Dan and Sue. Ill be at the Memorial for many years to come. Thanks

That was a test one to see how durable they are. I slammed it into the wall a couple of times, then it flew over the fence and it was too dak to find it so I left it. It is Danos disc and my paint.
Great pics J. I like the 1 of Ginnley holding the HOMIE disc. Keep em' comin, you always do great work. Long live the Memorial!!!!! Man I can't wait 4 the fountain! :cool:Long live the great memories of our dear friend Matt Lovasko, aka HOMIE!!

Not very durable at all. The paint was peeling off from where it had cracked at impact.

Are there any course maps available online for the 2006 Memorial?
And does anyone know if there are any good campgrounds near the courses? Recommendations would be appreciated.

I did one for the Vista course posted in the Memorial thread back several weeks. I thought someone mentioned maps in the AZ Yahoo group?
