758 at Marbles @ Netives!!! :cool::D

Nice! My high score is now 625. I got about 500 points for clearing all the red marbles in one move in that game.

Have you TRIED the high contrast version for color blind people?

Tried the high contrast. It is not really high contrast, they just impose shapes on the marbles. The Tetris-similar game Gems is more fun now.

What are they saying????

I managed 12,200 on my first try. Will play again someday. Have to clear out all the red dots on High Wheels first. (came close yesterday scoring 132 without going for any blue dots.)

Biggest problem on Space Noterbook invaders is that I kept putting my pointer off the game which freezes you in place. But then I am using a lap to mouse and not a real mouse. (the dent on the end of my finger shows it too)

The arrows change the direction of the cow.
The grey cow has to get the trophy to finish the level.
The red arrows get eaten after they are crossed, the blue arrows are permanent.
The hay bales will fill in a mud pit after it collapses.

Surprisingly, I got level 23 within about 5-10 minutes. I think I kind of lucked into the helpful pusher cow. I got much more stuck on other levels. I actually had to e-mail someone on here just to get the solution to a level.

This game is cool because on some levels it takes you a little thinking to realize that some aspects aren't even needed. They are extraneous.

The code for #24 is: OSBAUERLRB. It's a good example of where there's extra items you don't need.

Flip the arrow, open the window on the left.
Get a guy out of the chute.
Aim low, knock down the log bridge.
Aim high, as the rock hits the bell and starts to drop, hit the see-saw spear. If you get this right, it will flip the rock onto the land mine.

Open the door and let the guy inside go inside the other door. this lights lamp 1.

Aim the bombs high and blow the bell.

Aim the blue rock low and let it bounce inside the lower house. Click on the light until the guy inside opens picks up the blue rock and opens the door.

Start him walking to the other door. As he crosses the threshold, the wild thing on the skilsaw drops out.

when he hits the ground open the window in the center. When the guy slams the window, the loose rocks beneath the window drop on the wild thing and the guy can get to the door. Game over.

Google is taking over the world.

http://maps.google.com/

During stretches of boredom the last few months, I have searched for an online mapping program that could be used in conjunction with the PDGA Course Directory to give a visual of course locations. Having such a capability would be a great enhancement to the current "distance" search in the online directory. So far, I haven't been able to find anything online that allows this.

However, in coincidence of this post, yesterday I did quite a bit of searching and reading regarding various Google Maps Hacks that allow you to plot pushpins in your own custom positions on top of a Google Map.

I found what is apparently a way (though perhaps not totally secure way) to inject some javascript into the page being returned, and subsequently read and plot a file of custom points. Unfortunately, I don't really know what it means to inject javascript and I don't have any web development expertise, so I can't go far beyond just reading about it.

There is a apparently a site online that plots Craigslist apartment listings on Google Maps, but the site was so swamped yesterday that I couldn't get a response out of it.

Maybe Theo or the other site geeks can implement such a Hack for the online directory in their spare time.

Apr 12 2005, 10:14 AM
Oh, here's that other site:
http://216.92.212.16/housing/

Wow. Can you imagine the Online Course Directory doing this?

I *think* this is done purely by scraping and hacking. I don't think there is any true background integration or API to Google Maps.

Apr 12 2005, 04:04 PM
Rhett, Sandalman, et al, hows about you take your l33t hax0r skillz and figure out how to integrate the course directory to Google Maps?

Start here:
http://www.engadget.com/entry/1234000917034960/
with more info and more browsers here:
http://69.90.152.144/collab/GoogleMapsHacking

Call it your volunteer contribution for the week. It's far too far over my head.

Orrrrr, maybe just wait until Google comes out with a real API?

A few weeks ago I downloaded the trial version of a program that Google puts out called Keyhole . It lets you look at aerial pictures with the terrain added. I now have the pay version ($29.95 a year) and am having jolly good fun looking at the courses I have played and the courses I would most dearly enjoy to play if I get the time.
