Well as many of you may know by now Dave Wise got his feelings hurt by the TDSA and has decided to "peeder" out on a 2010 BTC originally scheduled for October 2010.
Since I actually wasted time on the artwork for it I thought I would share with everyone what one side of the tag might have looked like. The farside would have been numbered with separate artwork possible advertising space available.
It's really a shame because this would have been great fun for everyone and I was willing to throw in some sponsorship cash and promotion time including the now canceled "Twoputt vs Furdog Bubblewrap Beat Down" fight which was to be held at 2010 Chandlerstock in April.
Though the idea appears dead as of now I'm am still willing to help anyone willing to bring this back from the dead.
At this time I would like to call out and nominate Dough Duff to run it. The guy has been personally cleaning up at the Chandler Casino's ever since I've been there and it's about time for him to quit mooching and step up to run another event and give back to those that have lifted him to a higher tax bracket. ....On top of that, Duff has a good sales pitch.;)
There are many out there qualified to do this but only the few and the brave will hear call and step up. :)

I'll admit that I have won a few times at the Chandler casino...:D:D however I gave back large at the "DUFF SPECIAL" last year (over $1000 worth of merchandise to players just for signing up) just ask those that were there, and with new sponsors this years

The Tulsa Bag Tag Challenge season will run from April 1st thru October 1st, 2010. The tags will be available "no foolin" on April 1st for $10 each beginning with the #11 tag. Tags 1 - 10 (the only gold tags) will be selected by random at "THE CHANDLER TORNADO OPEN" April 17th and 18th. Only the top 50 tags will be guaranteed a bracket spot on October 1st. The remaining 14 bracket spots will be decided upon at "THE LODGE TEAM EVENT" On October 2nd. We will then have a bracket of 64 players for the "TULSA BAG TAG CHALLENGE" on October 9th and 10th. Tournament entry on October 9th will be $10 (you must present tag to enter)
Okay...from there we go into some rules!!! :p
#1) Tags are "IN PLAY" when playing in a scored round event. This is any event where you are playing for position.
#2) Tag holder must include bag tag in all "MASS TAG CHALLENGES" which will randomly occur at events which are in excess of one round.
#3) Tag holder will not throw their bag tag at any time...specially not at Duff
#4) When a tag # changes possession it is required to be reported either on this board or text to the #'s provided to you with the purchase of your tag!
#5) (CASUAL CHALLENGES) if you challenge a tag holder and lose you will relinquish the amount of $1 to the player that proved their tag.
This event is going to be alot of fun. It's all about participation, I've spoke with alot of the local TD's and if you tell them that your a tag holder you will likely be place with other tag holders! Challenge, challenge, lose a buck, challenge again...Remember only 64 players will make it to the show, and since I get to DUFF it up, it will be a show!
Chris Hatton
Mar 18 2010, 09:34 AM
:D can we also get a rule that 1-10 tags are REQUIRED to accept challenges, at least once a week, and that if your playing with 1-9 u cannot decline a challenge from another gold tag player? other wise u will get alot of F*GS getting gold tags and hiding them.
Dont tell me that doesnt happen either! , cause number 1 and 2 chandler tag only ever get defended against 700 rated advanced masters. i saw people try to challenge for them several times and dude was like "no i cant beat you".. weak sauce
twoputtok
Mar 18 2010, 10:10 AM
If they are a weaker player and want to hide them, let them. When it comes time for the tournament, they'll get their butt kicked the first round. In past tags, I have had every thing from #1 to #100. Both are fun to have but its more fun to drop that big number on someone. It doesn't matter what number you start with or what number you have most of the year. It only matters that you get into the tournament and then advance.
Chris Hatton
Mar 18 2010, 10:32 AM
i understand that, but from the talks me an duff had earlier this year about it, hes spending a decent chunk on nice gold tags to hang on your bag for 1-10, depressing to have them just vanish to someones wall. if u have 1-10 u should have to defend it. or give it up
twoputtok
Mar 18 2010, 10:48 AM
Hatton, hate to agree with you but you are right. Either he will have to have a minimum number of challenges required or just publish the name and let the other bag tag holders handle it.
Looking froward to playing this......THANKS DOUGH!!!!!!!!!!!

the one weekend I had the #1 tag in 07 I was at The JMM in OKC. I bet I got 50 challenges as soon as I get to the pavillion. Of couse since I beat Coda for it he got the auto-rematch. Then he proceded to beat me down the entire round and claim his tag back. But it was nice having the #1 tag for 3 days, lol.

Mar 19 2010, 01:05 PM
I can't make anyone play in this event. I only hope that the participants are purchasing the tags because they want to be involved in this thing. If everyone abides by the rules, we will know where all the tags are! Should we deny entry into the show with an unchallenged tag? I will say... that the tags will no longer be available after August! We are going to make a season of this which requires participation...don't think you can wait to get involved at the end of the season and make it to the show in October.

The only reason duff has money is because I didnt take his at GCD!! He would have had to pay me $40 if I wanted to take his foolish wager. Just think of it as my way of giving back to TDSA by allowing duff to keep his money and lose it elsewhere. Maybe I should get a free TDSA membership out of it.....

Perhaps we can fill this "Dunk Tank" with beer and the one that finishes it gets # 1.
BTW, at 50 cents a throw, who do you think would bring in the most cash sitting in there "High and Dry"????
I know I would probably spend at least $50 dunking Wise, Hinds, & Dorries.:D

I have 4 Tulsa bag tags available at the moment... During the announcements, before we play tomorrow morning, I will do a random drawing for the top 10 bag tags (please check in letting me know that you are present at the event). If you are one of the tags that get drawn you will just exchange your present tag with the one that is up for exchange at that time. I will start with #10 and work towards #1. After the top ten have been exchanged I will then have those 10 Tulsa Bag Tags available for purchase!! I would like to start the first round tomorrow without any bag tags in my possesion, so if you don't have one please get with me!!!

The first "Mass Bag Tag Challenge" was eventfull...thank you Carla Barton for the help. Alot of tags moved and alot of players kept their tags......I will say that the only gold tag participant took his tag home with him only because Dan Bougher(#7) won the disc flip after a six hole playoff with Gary Harrison(#19)......and the third lowest tag(#20) went to Fort Smith Arkansas with Roger Knight.
This weekend, May 8th (11:00 tee) at Mack Taylor Park we will have another mass tag challenge...Bring those those tags and defend them at one of the most challenging courses in Tulsa!
OAKIEDONKEY
May 03 2010, 07:17 AM
mack taylor is a good course with trees...before the past couple of ice storms...it was even tougher...espically around holes 1 and 2...most will like the original 9 hole lay out but the 9 holes of blues are nothing to sneeze at...see you there with #7...

If someone challenges a group for tags, but has a poor round and not only quits, but also walks out without exchanging tags, does that make him a giant va-jay-jay or just normal sized?
twoputtok
May 03 2010, 10:47 AM
usually when someone challenges, they have a higher numbered tag. If they walk off they just keep their tag. If they had a lower number and they challenged, then they must cough it up.

Correction, Kyle Wilkes has the #7. He and I played at Dovillio yesterday, he spotted me 2 strokes and I forgot all about the tags. Since he gave me strokes, then no tag. Even though I was -3 at hole 16 when he conceded a +4. This isn't even taking in account the 2 strokes he gave me.
Positioning of tags right now DOES NOT matter! There are several months between now and the match play. Don't be a ****** if you have a gold tag. Man up and accept the challenge, then send them packing. I have gone from 100 to 17 back to 91 and now 37. It doesn't bother me to lose a tag, because I'll just get a lower one next time. Ask Bougher, I watched him go from #7 to #91 the other night.
Come on guys DON'T hide tags. That's not what the tag challenge is about. its about creating excitement in Tulsa disc golf once again. Duff has done a great job, the players just need to remember the reasons of this and roll with the losses and the wins.

See Dave. It's great posts like these from Dorries that help make him a better USDGC rep than you.
No need to play off for the spot this year. I think we already have a winner!!!:D
I don't know what happened but you just don't have it anymore.

some people would not agree with the mentality behind me saying this, but I don't care.
I would have to agree with you Wise. I don't know if I have the goods to take it this year. I will average close to 1000 this weekend, but I don't think that can take the spot.
It doesn't mean I'm not going to bust my *** trying to win, but its just reality, I'm competeing against some guys who play a lot more golf than me. I guarantee you it will be a good battle for the spot, no matter who prevails.
That said, I plan on trying to win this year's OK state rep spot, and also trying at brent hambrick and worlds.
I DON'T plan on taking a "gifted" spot Wise :) http://www.21softs.com/emoticons/images/tongue.gif

not a bad post, but the whole premise of your post is whack. im aware that viagra pills are blue, you didn't have to get literal with it. I guess you found it insulting to your vast viagra knowledge that I would call the obviously yellow pill "viagra." Clearly I was referring to the happy face on all of the pills, because we know that's the only way you can "get happy."

See Dave there is a difference here though. Dorries is a better player than you. Example: Glass Blown / him 213 / you 231.
He shows up to take it all while you show up to gawk in awe. That and he does not have to worry about the cronic "ball & chain" injury/excuse that constantly plagues you.
As the "fluffer" you are, you were lucky to have rode the coatails of another, though all of us here recognized Joe's blunder.:p

He shows up to take (he wasn't taking it very well at the GBO)it all while you just show up to gawk in awe. That and he does not have to worry about the cronic "ball & chain" injury/excuse that constantly plagues you. He doesn't have to worry at this moment. He just needs to worry if the mail order bride he finds will let him play golf.

We forgave your mother, you can forgive Joe.
Just leave the tournament banter to the tournament players. You need to concentrate on getting up Saturday morning and making sure we all have water to drink.

At least he won't have to bribe his Russian speaking wife with another barn yard animal everytime he wants to go out and play.:D
And I forgive Joe. Obviously he was having personal issues at the time because the year after you went he canned you to the sideline and took his honey instead.
I remember you griping about that also.:p
BTW, Wayne has fired me as official Water Hydration Engineer due to my tendancy of spiking it with vodka. At least I have the common sense not to fill them with clorinated pool water like you did at the Glide.

First of all, November is still months away and you ain't 50 yet and there's no garrantee you won't get hit by a large chunk of space junk between now and then.
You've been sporting the same old (looks like it has been trapped for 100 years in the kitchen drain at Denny's) gray brillo pad haircut since I met you 7-8 years ago. I may carry some powdered donut remains on my beard but I don't glow gray in the dark like you do.:p
The fact is you don't exhibit the "aged wisdom" that some women would be looking for, but rather you stand as a reminder for them to remember to pick up a new toilet brush the next time they go to the grocery store.:D

Uh.......you may not want to make the claim that someone else has been supporting the same look for 7-8 years, when yours hasn't changed for 35 years.

Who are you trying to wager with? Me or the hairball?
If you want a wager with me, tell you what. Make it 6 strokes per round at $50 per round and 15 strokes on the overall for another $100. I think the 6 is fair, since it is a 24 hole round.
I sure hope you get paid today.

Face it, I have "the look" that women want though I put a block on your wife so you and I can at least remain friendly. Had I not done that then she would have left you years ago and you would have to visit you son in Utah where Lil'Moose, Jules, and I would be living.:D

If you calculate what the SSA might be based off of the 24 hole layout, it will probably come to around 6 ratings points per stroke. I gave you 4 plus tie, so I have to win by 5. 5 strokes at 6 points a stroke is 30 points. 957 + 30 = 987
You already have the upper hand with my proposed bet. Take it or leave it. An extra hundred for 15 is tempting but cmon man, I may have SOME spare cash lying around, but I'm not claiming to be loaded by any means.
Original offer stands, its more than fair for you, just MAN up and take the bet. Everyone I've talked to says you'd be dumb to not take it. They either have a lot of confidence in you or none in me, but there's now way you need more than 4 plus ties.
The fact that you had to ask for more strokes than that tells me you are a little worried already. $100 bux just after day 1 alone will make for some nice plastic that I can buy at the swap-n-shop!
