... I should have lead-off these 'photo-posts' with a touch-of-info :
.
. . . these are the EXACT Discs that will be won by some Lucky Players in a drawing at the Haikey Creek Classic ... rip a potato-chip ; read on ... here's a "cut-n-paste" of the same details from our Club Website :
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
" Bonus Announcement : … for those Players who brave the weather-elements between now
and the Haikey-Classic-date to enter and compete into “Flights” Doubles Events,
I’ve got a little extra “spiff” working for those cats ‘n’ kitties.
“High-Noon-Flights” -and- “_________-Nite-Flights”
… for every time they participate , their name will be added into a Multiple-Drawing …
… Poker Chips will be numbered and then “linked” to the Names of Players involved …
… these Drawings will be held during The Haikey Creek Classic (June 12-13) and will feature
15 (fifteen) ‘cherry’ discs (including some of the pure CE strain) …
... You can view pictures of these discs soon at the PDGA discussion board of our Club …
… some Players will obviously have their name in the hopper multiple times …
… and you know what? …
… I’ll let them be “multiple winners” if they are drawn more than once …
… there will be something-like 9 to 11 of these “Flights” between now and June 12 …
… and we’re almost bound to hit into some less-than-pleasant weather …
… but, nothin’ we haven’t played in before …
... so saddle-up; play some Fun Dubs; work on your Game; get your name assigned to some Poker Chips …
… watch your local mini-schedule for dates, Parks, and times …
.
… just another cool ‘bonus’ for the Players … to ... Enjoy … "

... one of THE most 'classic hot-stamp logos' there has ever been ... dating back to Tulsa's roots in Disc Golf ... first-ever Course in Tulsa : 1979 : worked-in with "Steady Ed Headrick" ... from there was born our first-ever Tournament : THE RIVERSIDE GLIDE ... spanning the decades with ever-growing popularity , this Event took on a-life-of-it's-own ... with plenty of pomp 'n' circumstance , and some side-twist doses of panache' added by tournament-directors , it lives and breathes ... it is "The Glide" ... that classic Logo was featured centermost on this SuperColor Disc ; surrounded by 'crisp' live-photos ... a Discraft 173-74 gram putter ... ... a 'tweaking' of the "Flights Doubles" schedule thru June is in the works ... as it was , one of the "State Schedules" showed a Tye F Cunningham Memorial (late April) as a 1-day ... I've seen it listed in another Schedule as a 2-day ... it's never an intent to step-on-toes with multiple scheduled-tourneys ... and I haven't heard back yet from JoeRo ... so we'll slide that Sunday (April 25) off from a "Flights" , just in case ... s'no problem-o ... we've got a "cherry" replacement date also in-the-works ... updated info v-e-r-y s-o-o-n ...

originally LSDiscs was going to have a 2-day Tourney on the weekend of April 3 4 since they now show it to be a 1-day (also having Friday-afternoon Doubles and pre-reg.) ; that opportunity opened up a Sunday April 4 now ; generally speaking : were smart enough NOT to try and run an organized Disc-Golf gig on that day : Easter you just never know what-n-where in a public-park-area might be busied up with Easter Egg Hunts , Family Picnics , etc. Ive even seen times when the Tee-Signs and Baskets were used to hide eggs for the little hunters thats all cool , as we endeavor to coexist our Recreation with John Q. the teebirds go for more than the TLs, in my recent observations.
Used CEs on ebay go from 30-50. New ones anywhere from 50 to around 100, just depends on the run and mold. Teebirds and first run are in the higher range.

... and , ALL of those genuine CHAMPION EDITION Golf-Discs will S H I N E just like this , when you "buff off" the factory powder coat that I've left on most of them ... BRILLIANT PLASTIC ...
FYI for those of you curious what some these discs are worth. I played in New Orleans this last weekend and a guy had a 1st run tee bird just like this one for sale. When I asked him how much he wanted for it he told me $100!

... THAT ain't happenin' ... no crust-layer whatsoever ... I was just out there viewing the "Doe" layout and walking around ... all "soft-powder and thick" (and more coming) ... gotta make a decision ... many of us like a "challenge" or "unique conditions" to test our Sport ... current lay-of-the-land ain't it ... ditches filling to street-level with drifts / 'flat-fairways' covered 3 to 6 inches / some large-expanses of standing water (hole 9, 10, 11 and others) : not frozen-over ; more like slush ; and some-of-that covering by snow now (very deceptive) ... the nuts-of-it is : every shot from 50 to 500 feet MUST come-to-land sometime ... then it becomes Search-Time ... and that boulder-rock area lining Hole 2 fairway and green (snow-blanketed) looks real dangerous ; broken-bones-awaiting ...
.
.
.... I'm calling it ...
.
.
.
... it is , after all , a fundraiser ... THIS Mar.21 "flights" wil be re-located as a "monday-nite-flights" somewhere in April or May ... after I study the calendar, I'll announce when ... I will still be (as advertised) in the parking-lot at Dovillio tomorrow from 11:20am until 12:noon ... just-in-case there are any players who still showed-up ... for public-service-message only ... without even setting-up or staging an 18-hole round of Doubles , I will alert them that Sunday's round is cancelled ...

i hear you there, adam hunt and I got all decked out in gear and drove out there, we didn't even think to check online to see if it was cancelled because it was one of wayne's events haha! rain/sleet/snow/ice/night/day... we normally play.
that said I think it was a good decision because it wouldve been real tough to find discs and not to mention breaking ankles and such. definitely smart to cancel, but it is funny that I didn't even think to check online because of wayne's hardcore golf reputation!

… "Wow" … lemme drop some stats upon ya … pdga sports-message-board numbers … (these were scribbled-down late last week ; and I just now had a chance to look at the math on ‘em) … in the Affiliate Club section , I’m sure you already realize who “The Big Gorilla” is on this board … all the other Clubs and organizations of this Sport on here total-up to about 115 of them … ALL OF THOSE others have a post-count of like 117,000 COMBINED … TDSA’s post-count is nearing 50,000 for that 1 Club ONLY …
.
… one other note to put in perspective : Texas … the state of Texas is monstrously-Big ; monstrously-Active ; multiple Majors EVERY weekend … gotta lotta Lone Star buddies … I did most of my-growing-up in Texas and I can tell you : Texas is more like it’s own country than a state … boocoo great Players ; boocoo great Courses ; boocoo great Clubs … there are about 17 Texas affiliate clubs , with all-that-activity creating 47,468 posts … State of Texas …
