Cleats for Moose Run (no concrete pads)...DG shoes for Bear's Lair...unless you want to carry cleats just for 15, 17 and 18's dirt pads...I wouldn't wear cleats on the concrete pads...

Martin Norris will be the master of cerimonies and I will be there to help if needed. If you bought a CS25 bag tag last year, make sure you bring it for some special TD CTPs because you wont get anything for having one at Centennial or anywhere else for that matter.
Forecast is rain today, ending tonight and possible drizzle at the most tommorrow. Rain predicted to return Saturday night and Sunday so if youve got to make a choice of playing Chandler or Centennial then this will be the ghost with the most but try and make Centennial anyway to make Twoputt feel better.
Bring some extra dollars and look for the casino on hole # 1. If someone shows up with a bottle of vodka, I might get real generous.

Great day of golf...thanks Martin, what an experience. But I want to talk about Karma, people always talk about Karma, to those people I would ask to explain this: Twoputt (don't start laughing yet)didn't play the first round today because he was using his avalanche as a ferry to give cards of players rides across a creek in between holes 5 and 6 (sweet...good karma, huh)....My card arrived at that hole...no ferry, Twoputt was busy moving baskets for alternate pin placement for the second round (more good karma, right)....my card had to walk thru "not quite a foot of water" on the last hole of the round (I made sure he saw me by waving my arms....he waved his arms in acknowledgement, but was busy seeking what YOU might call karma) This is where it gets freakin' hillarious...Hole 12 and 13 at Centennial run side by side, pin to pad...My card, which was the same both rounds-lucky guys, was on 13 putting towards the basket and Wise's card was putting at 12's basket...........da dum di du da dum....Wise has a what an 80 footer for a putt from a casual water lie....(the water is not quite a foot deep).....you see where this is going right? Almost all of us are watching Twoputt as he gets ready, gets set......putts..... and falls right on his arse in "not quite a foot of water!!!!" :D:Dhe's fast though, he was almost to his feet before we started laughing our arses off.......so I ask you, define karma!!!
I know we are early in the year...but so far this year that is the funniest shiet I've seen....THANKS TWOPUTT:D:D

Quick question? How many discs were lost?
I kept all mine but I heard of a few that dumped about half their bags.
I saw one Am have a meltdown.....he lost 2 on 18, 1 on hole 1, then on hole 2 tried to jump a puddle and fell in it. Then proceeds to hole 3 where he put his putter in the creek from about 8 ft. Gets to hole 6 and dumps 2 more in the water, at that point he was screaming.:D

i lost SEVEN discs in two rounds:
a white ram behind 17 long
hole 10 gobbled up three discs: a blue wraith, a yellow champ boss, and an orange surge.
hole 16 short claimed my champ gator (sniff) and my star boss
and hole 14 long claimed my yellow crush.
i havent lost that much plastic in the last five years combined. total insanity.
now, ask me if i would go out there and do it again? yes. the experience was worth more than the plastic. they can all be replaced.

I went ou there this morning and the water was down some but not enough to find them all. Here is what i did find
Purple dx tee bird marked JMS
Orange star wraith - paul dorries, found in the slew on 13
Blue 170 star fire, haikey creek classic stamp, no name, just tell me where you lost it.
Purple 160 champ orc marked SAS
Orange 171 dx roc, ice bowl stam, no name, just tell me where you lost it.
I will look again this evening and tomorrow mroning. It will probably be about 3-4 days before it is back to normal. I will notify the disc divers to let me kook at all of them. If you lost one or more with no names, please provide me with a descirption.

You also forgot to mention that your group was the only ones that didn't have to walk to their hole the first round.
I didn't forget, but that does add to the karma thing....cause the players on my card were the only ones with a front row view!!:D
and yes Hicks although you steppin in the hole was funny (sorry)...Twoputt's fall was more hilarious, I think is was beacause of the splash:D:D
I lost two discs but nothing unusual cause that destoroyer has been in the pond on 18 twice before, and a orange wraith on 13 that you can see from the basket (Dorries might want this one back:D) TDuff lost 4 in the rolling river.

i lost SEVEN discs in two rounds:
a white ram behind 17 long
hole 10 gobbled up three discs: a blue wraith, a yellow champ boss, and an orange surge.
hole 16 short claimed my champ gator (sniff) and my star boss
and hole 14 long claimed my yellow crush.

Dave, I lost a lime green Star FB in the creek. In the pond between holes 4,5,6 I have a yellow Pro Destroyer with Okie Doubles stamp. In that same pond I have an orange 11x TeeBird and GCO NT Roc I lost previously. Any of those returned would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Unfortunately I don't go in the pond. I will go anywhere in the creek or around the edges of the ponds. We are still looking for your FB. The water is not clear enough to see in the deeper spots.
Between Bougher and myself, we found the following last night.
baby blue roc - seth cook
champ FB - Teresa Duff
yellow ryno - chonic
red z buzz - ken barnes
star boss - slim moyers
star valk - sean gaither
red banger - slim moyers
bottom stamp destroyer - jeremy geiger
Thats 12 so far. I will be back out there this afternoon again.

Well I would like to first thank all the players that have taken a start in the first weekend of the Series and remind everyone else that you still have a shot at making the needed 8 rounds even if you missed the first weekend.
Then again since there are daily prizes come on out and play anyway!:D
I would like to think that the Sunday at Centennial will be the coldest of the Series but you never know in Oklahoma as our biggest snows are in March!
See Everyone Saturday morning 8:00 AM Copper Head Canyon for sign in!

If their is still alot of water on the course being retained at the Hawks, you might want to flip a second day location from another week. I just saw some nasty pics that had me worried. But regardless i'll play anywhere.

The Hawks will be what they will be, GCD will be there the following weekend so the series will serve as a warm up for that event. 17 players showed that they could handle wet conditions at Centennial and Dan set the two 1000 point rounds, who will be next?

This championship really kicks into gear now. We are past Chandler and a soggy day at Centennial.
Championships could be won and lost this weekend.
Oh the suspense...

I hope everyone is looking forward to this weekends competition.
I would like to point out that parking at Riverside might be a challenge, especially with this being the first warm weather in months.
Just a thought, car pooling would be awesome..

Good call on the parking partner! Riverparks will be buzzin tomorrow!!

i bet if you went to a eatery on brookside after copperhead you could carpool from there. i know i dont have a problem ferrying 3-4 others in my car. if you parked at a place like the food pyramid at 41/peoria your car would be just fine.

Martin - thanks for all your work and efforts.
Kyle - CE Valk - orange in the pond on hole 4 at the YMCA. It is just in the pond on the tee box side of the pond. I know bad shot. Also, thanks for doing what you are doing out at the westside Y - the tee boxes are looking good - I love the course.

Great turnout yesterday.
I agree, Copperhead is a great course. The tee boxes are great and the course was pretty easy to get around on, even for us old guys.
Bud was cussing a few times, but he does the same thing at Chandler.

He shot a 63 I shot a 62.:D
Hinds you would have lost your money again. Quit trying to get your money back on everyone else. Man up and take care of your own business and put up the $100 it will take for a re-match.
Furdog, anytime you want to put money on ANYTHING, just let me know. If I take much more off of you this year you may have to send me a 1099.

No ****!!!! Here I am trying to do a nice TD thing by matching dollar for dollar on the group CTP to get everyone in, "plus'ing" the event, and then Dasterdly screws everyone on the first throw. There was no drama after that.
And if Martin had been ready start the players meeting, we never would have had that CTP in the first place.

Wo Wo Wo Wo.....You are OBLIGATED to a 50 $ rematch. That was the agreement. I never said anything about 100 $ except i said you'd have to beet me twice to get it. This was the deal we had set in place before we ever played. Whenever I put up my 50 you have to play at the course of my choice. A DEAL is a Deal you hairless RAT.....

now theres a good idea. think of it this way wise, if you bet 50 a piece against hatton and hinds, you at least break even losing the 100 to hicks.

play a real course and i'll throw down 50 bones....winner take all....maybe the lodge?....or we could go south to muskogee?....i really like that course....or maybe mack taylor (blues)?....kelly lane twice around?....even west side would be good?....
If it has to be chandler....i guess that would do....but i won't give strokes and i'm not asking for any either!....if your putting your money in the hat your playing on your skills....not lack of skills....

Or you could win $200. Not to bluff you in because you seem to play pretty well in these betting deals and actually I was a lot more impressed with your play last weekend than mine with you being hurt and having to turbo putt everything. If I get wounded before our match while I am trying to kill a beaver this deal is off for me:)

What deal? I was just causing you to lick your chops at the thought of a $100 bet, at black with me injured.:p who would have imagined I actualy shot better than you that round?
Hinds, I'll give you a rematch and I'm sure you'll take chandler, since you're scared of real courses.:o Doesn't matter. I beat you on a fresh injury to my throwing hand and I'll beat you again. You may score better than me sometimes, just like Hicks beats me 80% of the time but Hicks is right, things change when its a straight upmoney bet. Just ask about his first experience.
Hatton, you haven't earned it yet.:D Beat hinds for $50 then come see me.
Hindsight
Mar 10 2010, 09:07 AM
your information is incorrect. I shot 60 at black, I believe you shot 63. I would have taken your money. I shot 63 On RED which is by far alot harder course for my game. I'll play you again, but if you haven't noticed I am not trying to take advantage of your injury. I want you to be 100% when i beat you so you have no excuses. And it if were at Chandler it would be at MooseRun. If Blackhawk were in alot better shape I'd say lets just go back out there. My last 4 rounds there are 59, 58, 53, and 60. Are you capable of doing that consitantly ???
I want to do the deal with you and Wilkes sometime too, but I think your at a big advantage in that situation. I will not be playing Bears Lair for any money matches. I'm not as much about the pitch and putts as everyone seems to think. Thats just where i go if I am stuggling with upshots or Putts. It's like my repair center for my game, lol. I may let Hatton Pick the course but i'd like to play the Civitan.

and im not in the least bit scared to play WW vs HH!! i beat you an coda once at the river with some guy ive never played with before or since wilkes! i can do it for **** sure with wise instead of coda :P what was that? riverside glide doubles? we lost to some old man team, dan and someone else :D will be just like waynes flight doubles, or every time i get called to a random flip which ends up rigged cause the general is scared to see hatton without a scrub partner!. me and an am vs a pro and an advanced, im used drawing the short straw vs good players :D if thats what yall need to feel good bout your games :), set it up. or better yet how bout coda and hatton vs wilkes and wise, lets put yall on the short end of the stick an see how that works out for ya. ill throw 50 on that in a heartbeat. :P

I don't care what you shot, so you beat me one round. How much did you win off of it? Nothing, thats how much. Like I said, YOU CAN'T WIN IT IF YOU AIN'T IN IT! :D and you had no nutz that day. Said you needed to pay for a tire. Hell I could have paid for it if you had the nutz to jump out there. If you're so scared of losing, then you must have NO confidence in your game, either that or your scared of mine.
Just start eating of the $1 menu at Micky D's so you can save up my next $50.

Just a note, after the pain and agony of the GCD the out of bounds for the Saturday round of the Spring Fling Championship Series will not be as tight as they were for this weekend  after all there should be some fun in playing and I am sure that the wind will take care of the scores well enough without a lot of extra tight OB's.:D

question: is this "haikey creek preview course" the same course that will be played at the haikey creek classic? or is there a possibility it will change between then?

I played Haikey Saturday afternoon. The first four holes were very wet, standing water everywhere.
Once I move to the north side it was much better, just squishy..
I looked at the east side but really couldn't see any flags denoting possible new holes..
Wayne will probably lay the course out Saturday night after dark..

grats to Coda for some top notch play... we all know hes the best in town, but he never fails to back it up. If I am correct (I think I am) he set the top score for every round he played except for Hunter, even if thats not right, 7970 means he only dropped a maximum of 3 strokes to anyone on any given round TOTAL, that's pretty impressive.

The City Championship needs to be at least 12 rounds held over 6 days. Last year it ranged from the first of February to April 11th.
The club needs someone(s) to step up and run these events, or at least a few of them.
If no volunteers come forward soon will have to rely on the individual course TD's to run them, on behalf of the club..

i have a question that is totally ignorance-based, since i lived under a rock between spring 2005 and fall 2009:
i looked back and saw that in the past, the spring fling was 6 single-day c-tier events. can anyone elaborate on why that isn't done anymore? i'm sure there is a great reason, I'm just very curious.

Sanctioning, insurance and fees x 6. It was done that way before to give more players chances to get points to get to worlds that year, since they were in KC.
With no looming NT or worlds near by in the future, not much reason to sanction them.
Hey Slim, I have become really tired of Haikey in its current layout, is it going to change anytime soon?:D:D

I would be willing to handle a one day at the Hawks....but that's all I can commit to.
