Welcome sports fans!

I introduce you to the chronicles of Dovillio. /msgboard/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

As newly elected Td, I am starting to run weekday mini's. Brad HOI has also been elected to assist me in order to gain the experience to run his own minis eventually....

This is not necessarily an ad for this weekend, due to the poor conditions I expect the turnout to be the regular mini-addicts...and hopefully some more adventurous souls.

As a note, my dad ran into the contractors that are responsible for some (maybe all) of the course maintenance, and they told him that they will be picking up the debris from the trenches that line (most if not all) of the streets around the park.

So if you happen to play, and you see a little tree droppings that needs moved a little bit, any progress toward the street/trenches will be helpful.

This, along with the same kind of thing when we play anywhere, can really help in getting our courses to shine once more....

Nothing big, don't try and pull a hanger down or anything ....

Anyway, I hope to have some fun coming up here in the spring and hope to maybe even run an event out there next year...

Who knows,

Maybe doubles?

Maybe sanctioned, maybe not.

But it would be cool to have an event there, fun park. :D

Come and enjoy it.

Easy with all the curses slack...this is going to be all good for everyone involved...because we have a great course, and that is all you need! (and pencils and scorecards...;))

Like the people who came out to the !0 & 2 today.

I ran the 10 o'clock and Brad ran the 2 o'clock.

The first mini was, as expected, marginal in turnout...

So we just played 5 a head dubs and were on our way...

The following people weathered the storm...

Dale Patterson (cali) .... 50
Mike Treat/ Dave Wise .... 52
Andrew Treat/ Snakeskin .. 53
BVA/ Twogun's ............ 55

The second round was rained out, but the following were the result for up to hole 7 in short...

BVA/ Jr. Henshaw ......... In the Lead :)

Wade Largent/ Anthony/ Jannet .... \
-------------------------------------- The Pack :p
Snakeskin and Twoguns ............... /

Also, I won the CTP first round on the traditional hole #16... (Sponsored by BVA- Sweet Star Wraith)

And BVA got it the next round...(Sponsored by Mike Treat- Nice Orange Champion Leopard)

A big thanks to everyone for coming out and supporting the club on a very rainy Saturday...

The next date is not set as of yet, but it will be soon...!

There will definitely be more events (and hopefully better weather) to come...

I love playing Dovillio.

It rained most of the first round but I was amazed at how nice and tacky the tee pads stayed.

From the guy with the broken and now bionic ankle, tacky tee pads are a good thing

Dale played California and as you see whipped us all. I had a blast in spite of the weather...

We had an awesome time out at the "Vill" today! :)

As usual Brad and I teamed up and split the minis, I covered the morning and Brad had the much busier afternoon. So I want to start by saying great job Brad for stepping into the TD ring for real now, that was a good test and you kept everyone happy.

As for the results, some may wonder why Dave Wise DNF'd, his son Drew injured his arm in an epic play on the soccer field while competing in OKC. From what I understand he was leading the team to victory and in the final seconds of play he was struck down by the enemy... :D;)

...or something like that... :p

Let's all hope he has a quick recovery, he is a future great in soccer, disc golf, and guitar...!!! :)

I am TD, Brad is my assistant, but can run the show if he has to.

TONIGHT!

6 o'clock.

Course Dovillio.

Be there!

(Not you Furdog, this is Zoocs domain, I think he would sense it if you were to play his course....)

Not sure if this has been mentioned but Dovillio has a lot of limbs down and one giant tree down on 17. Nearly hit the basket on 17 as well, this tree is HUGE!

I should be there tonight, looking forward to it.

Where are the scores from last nights mini?

Come on Opie, quit sniffing aunt Bee's underwear and get to work. ;)

twoputtok
Jun 04 2008, 09:30 AM
Unlike your mini scores they are in the newspaper today. :o

sschumacher
Jun 04 2008, 09:43 AM
I guess you run all your mini's at home in the bedroom aye?

They don't like me down at the newspaper anymore. :(

All scores should be posted here also so when the TD turns in money to the club his count can be verified.

Otherwise if the TD gets thirty people at a mini he can just say "Well, only 10 players showed up" and pocket the extra cash. :o

Birdie
Jun 04 2008, 10:10 AM
When you make a post like that furdog, with your little "want to be political, but chickened out on running" tone, it just makes me not want to post them...

Pops is the one that championed that idea to the Admin Board and as far as I remember it was well thought of. Except for Joyle Deering who has no internet, but does have a bike he could ride to the library...

I'll post mine later, after class...

sschumacher
Jun 04 2008, 10:25 AM
It has nothing to do with being political or an admin. You keep wanting to bring that up about me then what about your "No Confidence" vote? Real professional there. /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

John Green was posting scores as long as I remember. I know a few TD's that can't or just plain won't do it. It's no big deal. I do it because I think it's the right thing to do and you and Wise have no problem giving me crap about where I finish in relation to everyone else.

I knew you would probably post them soon so don't take it personal Red. /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

The TDSA TD's are trustworthy IMO but it would be really easy to not be if someone wanted to.

Now Admin's, those guys are a different story. ;)

Birdie

Now that I will take personally.

If you had not ingested enough vodka to get 5 Russians drunk you might have understood what I was saying. I was trying, as it turned out we should have, to unify the club in a decision.

Obviously, and thanks for bringing this up again, you do not do nearly as much listening as talking when you actually do make a meeting.

sschumacher
Jun 04 2008, 02:35 PM

twoputtok
Jun 04 2008, 03:54 PM
And why do you need to see scores from a course you don't have the balls to play? :o

The scores reach 10s of thousands in the newspaper vs nobody here, whats wrong you can't dial a phone? :o

sschumacher
Jun 04 2008, 03:55 PM
What now?...First you beat him up and now you're going to "suck up" and protect him?.....You Fluffer!!!!! :D

Maybe the reason he doesn't have scores up is because his glasses are broken and he can't read the names off of his TD paperwork.

Or

Maybe he's stricken with the "Pitch" syndrome. :o

BTW....Your golf cart accidentally flew out of the back of my truck and was laying on the side of the Cherokee nation turnpike. I think it was about mile marker 25. I figured you'd pick it up later that night when you guys were driving home. /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

What do you mean?

twoputtok
Jun 09 2008, 02:49 PM
Wise
Wagle
Powell
Briley
Penninton
Penninkamp
Nicholson
Hatfield
Wilkes

Then the same filed plus Dan Bougher at McClure for alternate tees.

Oh and by the way, Coda didn't win anything at Dovillio and he only got to keep his money for second at McClure.. Big Dan Bougher won at McClure and in doubles Wagel and Briley won at Dovillio.
;)

Jun 09 2008, 02:55 PM
Actually, my team was Penny and Dave. For the first 7-8 holes Dave was throwing first, and Penny was second. Penny was carrying the load, picking up the slack. Somewhere along the way Penny said "&%#$ this" and started going first....my arm is still tired, and Penny's back is worn out.

figure all that out /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

sschumacher
Jun 09 2008, 02:56 PM

Jun 09 2008, 04:28 PM
Excercise?

What excercise? You show up late and sit in your truck the whole round. You won't play a course longer Riverside or Chandler or if it is above 85 degrees or if the wind is blowing or if it is too cold outside or if you slept in or what ever...............................

You hardley qualify as a TD let alone a player.

The only thing hard core about you is your choice of beverage. :o:D

Hell, if it wasn't for GTA your thumbs would still be plugged up your butt. :o

Then you need to get a better attorney than you have right now. The TDSA provides you with sign up sheets and pay out sheets. The sign up sheets should be turned in at the Administrators meetings to verify the funds being received against the funds that were collected.

I already know how your accounting works, thats why a vendor had to show up to the meeting to collect from you a debt over 6 months past due? :o
Shamefull. :( Just shamefull.

After Worlds, all of my records were turned over to the new treasurer and no descrepencies were found. People looked at my records and figures. You have yet to prove that. You don't have to cook the books in order to utilize creative accounting and that creative accounting made the club account look a lot better.

You continually trying to change the subject or point blame in another direction will not get me to back off.
You have yet to provide anything of substance that would indicate you have paid the club all of the monies due. Yada yada, yada, you listed some figures here on the board but you also listed your score of 42 to the newspaper, which was an out and out lie!

Accounting buddy, its all about the paperwork of which you conveniently don't happen to have. Why is that? :o
If there is nothing to hide, then where is the paperwork?

Another beautiful evening at the Vill....

And here we go...

Chris Wagle 53
Dan Bougher 53
Mike Connors 54
Scottie Wilkinson 54
Josh Crowl 55
Dave Pennekamp 56
Dave Wise 56
Johnny Thompson 56
Opie 57
Dale Patterson 58
Adam Hunt 58
Greg Winsworth 58
Dave Nicholson 59
Scott sable 60
Harry Hinshaw JR 60
Jesse Crew 60
Jesse Sellers 60

Advanced Masters:

BVA 55
Phil Hagen 61
Jim Geurin 62
Brad Zimmerman 65
Mike Treat 67
Doug Duff 68

Intermediate:

Orville Wagoner 59
Richard Why 60
Jay Johnson 62
Corey Leemhus 66
Luke Pilkington 72
Casey Fletcher 72

Pro Women:

Shanna Swanson 75

The CTP winner was Jay Johnson, and I believe Dave Wise was even on his bets on the night...

Andrew Treat won the 2008 Roc on hole 18 as he was the only one to mark it. :)

Ace pot is sitting pretty at $109 and the seed (or the reserve we set aside for in when someone hits and ace...so the ace pot does not start at zero) is already $81.

Things are looking rough on the course, so I am going to try and contact the mowers, but those of you who played know there is a lot of water in places. After a mow, and some limb removal, the course might be ready for a little weekend action....who knows...

Birdie
Jun 11 2008, 01:52 AM

And I continue on my streak of poor luck and shifty confidence....

You weren't putting when I drove up unless you consider an 80 ft approach shot a putt and if that's the case you missed it.

You two need to quit lying for each other.

And BTW, when I called at 6:05 you guys were still milling around in the parking lot and had not started on time. :p

Also, there are no scores in the newspaper. I saw three TDSA TD's out there and no one can get the scores into the paper?

I think we need to have mandatory drug testing for all TDSA TD's from now on. Maybe even the players themselves. I think there may be some steroid use going on.

twoputtok
Jun 11 2008, 09:46 AM
Young Andrew had 32 players for a Tuesday night at DOVILLIO!
:o

I guess everyone is getting real tired of that little course up on the hill. Furdog could only get 23 players on a Sunday afternnon and that is with the promise of extra cash. :o It appears you can't even pay players to come out there. :D

sschumacher
Jun 11 2008, 09:53 AM
Actually I had 45 people out there but I only posted 23.

The other 22 were in the second "top secret" outlaw mini that wasn't on the schedule. :)

And get it right. Twenty of Andrew's crowd played Pro so the other 12 are the only one's he made money off of. A gross profit of $48 bucks minus the cost of the plastic = what?...$12???

As far as I'm concerned you should pay an extra fee to the TD since you don't provide any other reason for a TD to show up and cater to you. :p

Jun 11 2008, 10:24 AM

Well you'll need to find a witness that actually saw it happen because I've got an alibi that states I was at Knotty Pine at the time eating BBQ. /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

On top of that, "outlaw" mini's that are not listed on the TDSA schedule can't be considered a TDSA event. Otherwise all you guys that showed up a Dovillio & McClure last Sunday owe the club money also.

You're going to pay that right? What about your Turkey Skins match? Did you pay the club for that? You used their schedule and website to advertise and promote it so you owe them something.

Come on Dave. You can't keep taking all the time. You need to give something back. :)

Check the CS shirts from a couple of years back when John was doing it. It's the same logo and that is what Rob sent me. $100 does not buy you pre-approval. You should have sent something over or Marie and I would have had to charge you an artwork fee.

You were the only one that donated cash that I can remember and I appreciate it. Others donated gift cards, certificates, and product which I appreciate also. I covered those people already on my CS post except I forgot about your buddy Zook getting wood. /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Way to fess up Andrew. /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Let it be know that poor Opie was led astray by a certain Arkie individual that used his puppet Twoputt to convince Opie to lie and offer a ghost Roc that never existed. It is sad that within such a short time Dave and Keldog have been able to corrupt the young one to be the fall guy while they hide in the shadows avoiding prosecution for their dirty deeds.

The fact that some people probably came out just for a shot at that Roc only to be underminded by these criminals is a shame. I feel that the thirty some that showed up deserve a partial refund or at least the cost of the gasoline to drive to the cow pasture.

Andrew did the right thing but had it not been for DonkeyDan I wonder if he would have been so forth coming with the truth. /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

I will be looking into the state extradition laws to see what can be done to bring Keldog, the true mastermind behind this, to Oklahoma to face charges.

As far as "The Dad" and BVA?? There is not enough evidence yet to charge them but this incident will need to be noted in the minutes at the next Admin meeting.

Attention: There will be a 2007 USDGC Star Roc up for grabs tonight! It will be for either holes 15, 16, 17 or 18. I'll let Andrew decide. This is NO joke, the disc will be given away tonight! ;) And this is in addition to the regular CTP, so tonight its a TWOFER!

The disc is still in the sealed bag, with the certificate of Authenticity and is number 2119 and can be found in the collector guide. You can't even get them on Ebay right now. :o

So come on out, you won't get this kind if CTP up on the mountain. :D

Actual disc not shown. The CTP Roc is white with a blue stamp.

The big Roc CTP was a close competition, with many gathering to watch the final players throw their shots, but in the end only one could win...

ME! I won it and it's all mine!!! I traded some guy a bunch of DX plastic and told him to walk it back to Chandler!

No, not really. Actually it was won by Orville Wagner, who is a very good guy and he did well tonight between his $10 payout, his $25 CTP, and his USDGC Roc!

Thank you very much Dave Wise, you are a standup guy and we all appreciated the chance at that roc...

Hey my results were in the paper for the last two mini's at Chandler. I think you guys missed one. :p

And BTW.....

TONIGHT'S EVENT IS NOT 6PM AT HUNTER,.........IT'S MMFMM 8PM AT MCCLURE!!!!!

I WONDER HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE GOING TO WASTE THEIR EXPENSIVE GASOLINE DRIVING OUT TO HUNTER ONLY TO FIND OUT THAT THERE IS NO MINI GOING ON????

WHO IS MISLEADING THE MASSES BY REPORTING PHONY EVENTS IN THE NEWPAPER NOW????? :o

What was that line that Mr Hand used to say to Jeff Spiccoli in "Fast Times at RidgeMont High"?????

That's ok, consider yourselves on TDSA double-secret probation and next time read the schedule that Mr Forest works so hard at to keep everyone informed. /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

I think one of you Treat's needs to go out to Hunter and redirect anyone that shows up there to McClure. I think you should go ahead and cover their gasoline expenses also by giving them a free entry into Dovillio next Tuesday!!!!

As for the mini...

Sorry to Big Dave, Chris Stine, Dale Patterson, and Mike Conners...still don't know what happened, but I dropped the ball and didn't get you on a card...

...of course, as with all great performances, it all worked out in the end.

I am continuously concerned about the number of cards, and the resulting long distance from the parking lot for many peoples starting holes.

I am working on the problem and will report back. I have one or two ideas that might help get everyone around quickly...

So stay tuned....

Of course we had our usual CTP on hole 16 which was won by Devan Owen. That paid $27.

Then, as you may have read earlier, Dave Wise sponsored, what can only be described as a Freakin Heap, of stuff. That "Freakin Heap" was won by Josh Crowl.

Also, the ace pot was hit on hole #15. That paid $120 dollars.

Devan's CTP and Ace Pot winnings, sent him home with a whopping $177.

Just goes to show that it pays to play at Dovillio.

One final note, as just last week the ace pot seed that we keep, had filled.

So the ace pot for next week is already back up to $10!!!

Come get some! (Actually we don't need that many more people)

Recap of the last few mini's attendance numbers...

5-3-08- The 10 o'clock mini had 14 players.

6-2-08- 26 Players.

6-10-08- 33 players.

6-17-08- 37 Players.

6-24-08- 37 Players.

No real point, I was just looking at the past few sheets and thought I would post it for records sake I guess....

Great numbers for Dovillio. I think this is a result of the Tulsa discers wanting more challenge and bang for their buck. And of course, Dovillio is a really nice course

Looking down the list...There are a lot of good scores being put down. Lots of relatively "new" players scoring well, too.

Play Dovillio--------it will make you better.

Also, Thanks Andrew for waiting on me last night. I was hurrying to get there, worried about catching flack for arriving late, then I find out, I'm not the last one to arrive. Now, if I could have skipped hole 14, I probably would have snuck into the cash.

Well, I really appreciate people coming out to the events.

It is fun running mini's and I enjoy doing it,

while I am not as good as pops is at running them (I still have a tendency to want to go mingle and putt before play starts....) I do like helping out a little.

And, yeah, I guess people are just wanting some disc golf, and it just happens to be at Dovillio. Or maybe people are just wanting to play the course...?

I always thought the course is challenging as well as scenic.

sschumacher
Jun 26 2008, 09:34 AM
Hey buddy. I like Dovillio but I just don't do well out there. I think the course is a lot better now with the cement tee pads.

I think my favorite course in Tulsa is still McClure.

ido believe that playing dovillo regurly prepairs players
to have a developed shot selection for most of the other courses around here, however the opposite is not the case.

Martin_Norris
Jun 26 2008, 03:19 PM
Playing Red White and Black (Hawks) are maybe the most diverse preperation for disc golf that can be had in the area. Although the one thing that most currently used courses lack are true elevation changes ala Waterworks.
Hopefully some time in the future Copperhead Canyon or some other local course can give us those shots, but for now The Lodge is our best work out for elevation and shot diversity.
Jim Taylor and his first course designer Kevin McCoy are to be loudly praised for the wonderful layout that they have created and maintained. I can only hope that the new layout will continue this fine tradition and hope to be able to make the next big Lodge Event the "Twisted Flyer Open" later this year.

Of note, the Riverside Glide "West" layout should be a new challenge and change for this year.
Many of our current Players may well have never seen the layout that was used in the 2005 "Twisted Flyer Open" and are in for a double "Treat" so to speak.
Looking forward to another FINE "TNT Production" which will still have all the bang of Dynamite but without the nitro.
