How do they plan on doing payouts within 30 min of last group coming in if it's taking 4+ hrs to get Sunday's tee times posted?

I would like to thank everyone that came out and played in the PIASO. I hope you all had a good time and will come back next year. This was one of the smoothest ran tournaments I have ever been a part of. I really liked the way the tee times turned out and will look to do that again in the future. Next year we just might have 2 18 hole courses in Crowley.
Our total value for this tournament was just short of $12,000.00.

There were 3 am players that didn't pick up their payouts.
Rodney Newton....Adv.Masters 5th place
Jared Lui.... Novice 4th place
Derek Henry....advanced 12th place
I have all of these payouts and will bring them to our minis if ya'll want to come pick them up.

Chuck,

I set the ratings to reflect the proper course played. R3 & R4 were different courses as were R1 & R2. Each round was a different 15 holes. R1 & 2 was the same for all players. R3 & 4 were set same for MPO, FPO & MA1 (Pool A) and then set for the rest of field. It should be set properly. Let me know if you see a problem

That was the quickest awards ever! It was just MPO, everyone else had already been paid out except for the Women, who were still playing!

Looks like Brice played like i did. I was 7 over after 16 holes. Luckily i found 6 birdies in my final 14 holes or it would have been a whole lot worse.

Thanks, we are trying to set a standard :D With tee times, you can pay out a division usually within 20 minutes from the last card coming in, and it sure makes it much easier on the TD.

Tell me what the point of them is when we have tee times?

Why can't we just play the 20 hole layout if there is no need to make room for a bigger field?

24460
Jul 01 2008, 01:11 AM
Chris, you had 7 birdies, 11 pars and 4 bogeys on the temp holes. It looks like you came out ahead on those holes so what are you complaining about. Are you mad because you played 20 points below your rating?

We had the 30 hole format so we could have 4 rated rounds. With just the 20 holes, we couldn't do that.

A good thing would be adding chains....I had some spits, the kind you hit and you know it was good, not some off to the side spit. And I would be all good if it effect everyone. But it don't...... not everyone has a firm putt with a hard putter. It would be nice if for next year them baskets had inner chains

You know guys, when we first started this game there were less chains and shallower baskets. Everyone putted on the same thing and you had to learn to make it. It's kind of like ball golf, you can't just run every putt hard at the cup and straight in you have to use some touch every now and then. :D:D

In fact, if it were up to me, every basket in the DG world would be fewer chains and shallower buckets like Ed first designed (Mach 1). Then you have to learn to putt with touch, not just see how hard you can jam it. Putting is just another part of the game, you don't see guys like Tiger griping about the cup because his putt lipped out. Sometimes their putt hits the back of the cup and drops and sometimes it just jumps up and veers off. It is not the cups fault. :D:D

I agree with you about less chains, you would have to touch putt, as i call it, with a lot more finesse. but the shallower basket concept i dont. if you remember the mach I's then you remember what you were putting with back then and it was predominantly a whamo disc with a huge diameter type floater disc compared to what we putt with today. there were far less bounce outs with those discs when you made a good putt, as opposed to making a good putt with the smaller diameter type disc which seems to at random decide not to stay in the basket and bounce out especially those mach I's. so what would be fair? new technology isnt going away, i dont think people would consider going back to whamos to putt with to deal with that smaller sweet spot you have to hit on shallow baskets.
You could certainly make it harder for people by restricting how many deflection devices you can have (chains), on a basket. That shallow basket issue has always bothered me because even back when i was using my 71 mold to putt with i would still get a small percentage of bounce outs that was in my opinion unfair. And of course thats what this rant is, just an opinion :D:D

people want less chains because they are tired of other people nailing putts from farther away. they want everybody to have to be within ten feet to get one to stick, then everone would be forced to use the SONIC :o:D:p

I don't disagree about the bounce outs, I was just wanting it to be more about "speed and distance" not just "slam and jam". So the deeper baskets (like they are now) I would go along with because I do remember putting with my 40 F and 70 molds, but we definately need fewer deflection devices (chains).:cool:

As for moving up 1/2 x 6, due to time constraints, I will be unable to change divisions for another 8 years (that is when I will turn 50). And all know that I am the hardest putting S.O.B. in S/W Arlington, well on Rock Meadow Trail for certain, and I don't have a problem keeping my rockets in the bucket. So I would say, just put it where it is supposed to be and you and she, (the bucket), will be pleased with the end result.

When there is $1000 on the line you need to have good baskets with double chains.

When a great course is financed by the disc golfers that love it , you shut your complacient pie hole and make your
putts. :D

Side note : E-mac did not have any problems putting on those buckets.....

How many holes did you play per round, those are some crazy low scores. Must be a super easy course!.

Brice, next year if you take out all the chains and we have to hit a pole to land in a bucket, I'll still show up again!

Cool tournament.
