Tee times will be posted at the course on Friday afternoon. They will also be posted on the PDGA website on Friday afternoon.

We will be running doubles on Friday.
Flex start from 2:00 - 6:00
$30.00 a team for PRO
$20.00 a team for Ams (Ams will be paid out in merchandise)

For all the people that are coming in from out of town, our host hotel for the tournament is the Holiday Inn Express in Burleson. This hotel is about 3 miles from the course. They have reserved 20 rooms for the players until Thursday. After that, the rooms will be first come first serve. This is a nice hotel compared to all the rest of them around here. It does have a pool, free breakfast and alot more amenities. The cost of each room will be $99.00 a night. To reserve a room, call 817-426-0396 a make sure to tell them that you are here for the tournament.

I meant tee times vs. shotgun start. Pros should always be showcased vs. any amateur divisions. But the makeup of disc golf and the lack of significant corporate sponsorship would tend to support catering to the amateur players, since there are more of them, and pretty much all Pros start as Ams...that and there aren't too many disc golf spectators!

so true.but our sport as a mainstream is still way away from being even a joke, but on that note I am okay with that...we can't support the PRO SPORT aspect if we tried and it landed in our lap

I'm not Brice, but to address your questions, Tee times will be posted at the course and on the tournament page of this site Friday about 2:00pm. Your players meeting will be a sheet of paper you get with your scorecards before the first round. The order of play will be MPG, MA4, MA3, MG1, MA2, MM1, MA1, MPM, MPO, FPO. The first start times will be determined by the number of players. And logistically, tee times are much easier managed from this TD's perspective, than shotgun starts. ;) And from a playing perspective I would much rather play with tee times.

He and Vinnie are getting pretty close in the USDGC Texas Rep spot. 12 points apart with two events to go. Mike has been gaining ground since coming to within 2 points before missing the South Texas Shoutout and falling 21 points back.

Until we have the specific number of Ams, we can't be exact with the times. I will tell you that you can count on the pros teeing off after 12:00 noon based on the number of Ams currently signed up. Right now there are 83 Ams, and sending out 18-20 per hour, if tee times start at 8, pros will start right after noon, if we start at 9, well you do the math. Hey Vinnie I heard last night that part of that course might be closed due to a " Tree Disease (http://forestry.about.com/od/diseases/tp/An-Index-of-Common-Tree-Diseas.htm) " just FYI :D

Wait listing is not a happening thing with tee times. We set the cap at 180 for that reason. So, right now that leaves about 65 open slots to be filled by Friday at noon.

Parts of the creek is very deep, other parts are shallow.
It wouldn't hurt to bring some back ups

31 open players sounds like the most I have ever heard of in a DFW tourney since I started playing! Maybe the VPO might have more but for a B tier that is a really nice turn out!

It might have something to do with the fact that Brice is the only TD in the area who gets off his butt to get added cash on top of paying out 100%. This sport is going no where if we just keep playing for each others entry fees.

For those who can take him off the list...just talked to pete lopez and he told me he's backing out of this for kyle since it's closer for him so now we're down to 30 open but i'm hoping more will still sign up.

I'll second that. Brice does an awesome job. Those Kansas boys do too, but I guess they technically dont count because the are from Wildcat country! :eek: :D

2 weeks ago Brice said he had "X" amount of outside sponsorship money. He then said "i dont see what's so hard about getting sponsorship cash, all you have to do is ask.":D

Sounds like its gonna be a great tourny. Well done so far Brice. The entire Disc Golf community is very proud of all you have done and continue to do to further this sport we all love so much.

I like Brice and have nothing negative to say about his efforts. I do, however, have an opinion about saying he's the only TD that "gets off his butt". When we were getting started with the VPO we ( me, then Jim Miers, them Kelly Hicks ) were all hitting the streets and drumming up sponsorships. The problem was after awhile the local sponsors realized that disc golfers were not a mainstay of their clientele and support became more and more difficult to get that's all. We still make every effort we can to get help, it's just gotten harder. Maybe if one of our members was a city official we'd have a little more luck. Still I wish Brice all the success he can achieve. He's definately become a top comodity in local disc golf. Good luck this weekend.

I am not so sure that the level of sponsorship cannot be attributed to the fact that the corporate community was enticed by the oppurtunity of seeing the rematch between Big D O'connell and Mr. Lightening in can, Jerry Seabolt. Are those times set in stone?!? I don't want to show up a few minutes before the tee time and find out that things went quickly and it moved up an hour or more, but don't want to hang out for 3 hours either.

With 30 holes to play, I would expect the round to take about 6 hours since a normal round is around 4 hours (although I think everyone is playing white teeboxes which should be pretty quick)...that puts a few groups finishing in the dark, doesn't it?!? Not trying to hate on anyone, just want to make sure I'm home by 6:30-7:00 since we are throwing a party. I usually get done by then at local tourneys and that was the condition the Boss set in letting me play.

Brice &amp; Co. -- if there's any way to get moved up to the first/second starting advanced cards, please let me know.

that's why Brice said to show up at least 30 minutes early.

All players must check in at HQ 30 minutes prior to their tee time. You will get your players package when you check in.

Before this event gets started, I want to thank everyone that helped make this event our best yet. Tom Lowry, the greatest assistant TD anyone could ask for. I could not run this event without him. (You da Man).
Doug Fritz....This guy is a major workhorse at the Crowley course. Be sure to thank Doug whenever you see him.
Zak Flynn (GrassMasters)....This guy volunteered to mow the entire course the week before the event. Thanks Zak.

The rest of the local Crowley crew also helped in getting the course prepared. Shaun Hunter, Misty Smith, B-rad Jenkins, Ron Friday, Britt Browning, Terry Beckwith, Shawn Robertson, the SantaCruz Brothers. This course would be no where without yall's support.



On another note....one of our most treasured locals needs our help. Bob Robertson had a stroke about a month ago and the doctors found cancer in his lungs and his brain. A few days after the stroke, they found a tumor on his spinalcord that had crushed two of his vertebrae. Bob is now paralyzed from the waist down and the doctors gave him only a few short months to live.
We are going to be collecting some money for the Robertson family this weekend. I know we can't do much for this family, but what we can do will help.

Tom's card started first so there were no backups to deal with. Still... 3 hours for 30 holes and it was a GrandMaster card! Pretty quick for some old fogeys :D
