Dubs was pretty good for being -1 after hole 4 on the Wilmont.

If you saw his sprint for the basket after the ace, you would not question whether he won or lost.....you might wonder, how he survived it! [/b] :D:D:D

If he had done that <strike>fall</strike> slide on Saturday, he might have drowned.

I dont remember seeing any Bass, but I do recall the ducks swimming, yes swimming, not walking, in the fairway of 14 on the East. We saw this and all thought to ourselves, I wonder what I disc would do to a duck at 50 miles per hour? Thankfully we didnt get to find out. :D

Many VPO's ago on Championship D hole someone's doomed drive across the pond skipped 10 feet off of a duck's back and landed safe. I think it was Jerry Seaboldt.

This past weekend I had two of the worst rounds of disc golf in my life. I came to States totally unprepared for the rain and even less ready for the quality of competition. I knew that by playing Advanced I was in over my head, but little did I know that even had I played Rec. I would be struggling here. My wife and I just moved here a few weeks ago from Birmingham and we have some great golfers there, but we were not ready for the lengths of these Texas holes. I had no umbrella, I had no extra towel, I had no rain gear at all. The guys in my group the first round were nice if not empathetic of my situation. I finished DFL of the guys that actually finished out the advanced rounds, but I got to see some great golf and learn many things. However, there were two moments that reaffirmed my love of this sport:

1) Larry, being the great TD that he is, called me by first name from the moment I walked up to the pavillion till Sunday when he came to chat for a bit. Larry, you are an incredibly good guy from all that I have seen.

2) Coda Hatfield is on the final four holes in the lead and talking to an advanced player who has been around for a while. I went up to the advanced player (whose name I never got) after he had walked a bit away from Coda and asked what the scores were looking like. Coda overheard my question and came over in the middle of his round to explain where everyone stood. Sure, you might think that this was due to the fact that he was in a comfortable lead, but I have the feeling he would have done the same two strokes down. Thanks Coda for confirming my faith in this sport and the people who play it.

Two truly good guys that deserve a little pat on the back.

Oh yeah, and Matchu, you're a great guy too except when you're hitting on my wife :)

That sounds like a Seaboldt thing to do.
And Matt, your right, disc golf is awesome just as much because of the people who play it as the sport itself. And you once again confirmed this by letting a stranger stay in your home. I was blessed. Thanks to all who had anypart in this tourney, it was truely unforgetable, in more ways then one! :D

Playing at one of the maceman midweek events at Fritz Park in Irving a few years ago, i threw a roller on hole 2. It appeared to jump off a stick, real close to a squirrel. When we got up to my disc the guys on 3's tee said i killed the little fella. I said i saw it jump straight up and then run to a nearby tree. They said that it jumped on the tree and then fell off straight backwards. I walked over and there he was. Lying on the ground, not breathing with one of his eyeballs hanging out and blood all over. I realize that there was nothign i could do to avoid the situtaion but i felt like a big bully. And i missed the birdie putt.

I have killed a squirrel with a disc...its possible.

Luckily one of our local disc golfers has a 16 foot python so the squirrel didn't go to waste. ;)

Definitely I really enjoy playing Texas States, it was my first Open Tourney & first cash. Big props to Nez, Ching & and the Wonderful Staff and Volunteers. Guillermo Avalos you rock as a host. Thanks for your hospitality & allowing me to crash at your New Home. And your brothers are great. Many Thanks and Good Times....!!!

Kevin...great playing with you as well. You really closed alot of gap after our first round. After tossing cookies most of Friday morning due to some bad food, I wasn't much in the mood for tossing plastic in the rain on Saturday, but that group made it fun. There are some very good players in Texas and I hope to play there again someday soon..hopefully in the Open division next time.
