Checked a couple pads this evening (#9 & #10) - Concrete is setup nice. Will probably need a crow bar for #9...
On #10:
- I backed the screws out of the steaks
- Removed steaks
- Tapped the forms all the way around
- Lift entire form straight up and off
Took about 5 min...
Good to see ya Rickster!!
What are you guys doing?
Yes! I am at home!?

JD I left a sharpshooter shovel in the back of your truck. I'll get it next Wed....thanks!
lost and found section
Russell lost a red handled float trowel, if anyone has it, bring wednesday
I have 5-shovels and 2-water buckets in the back of my p/u. Will bring out wednesday and exchange for Russell's float!
Looking for a cheap hoe! Not a nappy headed one but left one in the back of someone's truck. Has LT stamped on it. Also a line level and that was in a ziploc with string. Not very important for either but if anyone runs across them I'll take them back. Oh also had a green and white umbrella at WWF fundraiser in Leander if anyone runs across it. Lets review a line level, umbrella, and a hoe. Can I post that without getting my sponsors getting me fired?

ok thanks to Jd, dirty and myself we picked up all the forms and excess wood and put it next to the fence area. Only thing left is too back fill a few tee box signs and than re number the baskets and tee boxes.. :DI have a call in with the city about doing the back fill and removing excess dirt.. have not heard back.. again thank you to everyone that pitched in to make this dream a reality.. I am thinking of playing in the am. LT you ready to play another round you slacker :p
and Ware2 for doing # 10 that was an easy form to load
Can't in the morn. Too many chores. Can in the afternoon. Supposed to be windy(good practice)

One of these days I'll get to golf again, and just maybe I'll see you and can return it to ya...

ok per the agreement with the city and vinnie we will need to back fill the tee boxes ourselves and then the city will remove excess dirt.
SO we will need some people with shovels, rakes and brooms to go back out and back fill any and all remaining tee boxes. If you wanted to help but could not now is your time to step up and be a part of these park improvements made to the course. also might need a wheel barrow to move dirt around to tee boxes that don't have enought dirt or we could leave them like they are until someone breaks an ankle either trying to get on the box or from falling off the box.

More dirt needs to be spread around the box....the dirt settles. A good rule to follow is the dirt around the box needs to be higher than the concrete for future settling.

Heard a rumor that Smitty could get some dirt from work, which would be way easier, all we have do is rake it out. I figured 4-5 loads. JD was going to check on it last night. JD?
Someone should call the city. They didn't give us much time to back fill. I don't understand why the guys picking up the dirt just didn't back fill them then, so much easier. After the situation they put is in before the 1st pour they need to get an earful from the club. I'll be glad to be diplomatic if someone pm's me the conatact #.

May 01 2007, 10:38 AM
Edman you have a PM
I drive a company truck so using it to haul dirt might be ok. Heck I hauled form's and wire mesh and concrete tools all over the place. Would need to be a dry day (several days in a row) before I would pull into the park off the roads with a load of dirt. Its not a 4x4! I assume we are in no hurry now due to excess dirt being removed from boxes. I know the weather outside now and for the next few days is not going to be nice to us. So unless you/we know someone with a 4x4 truck then I would say its going to be awhile before we/I can get in there to spread dirt. And that all depends when/where we can get dirt, free, pay for, what???

Here are somethings people can take on their own.
:)Clear up the woods around #16 & #17 basket
:)trim up the trees in the fairway of #c
:)Stack and morter/glue the rock pile by #c basket (this need to be restaacked or removed so the mowers can do their job)
:)Dig level the area behind pro tee box #c (need area behind the box to sit 3 to 4 people while playing the hole.
:)Weed eat the path down the dam side of #b tee box.
:)Weed eat and restack walls on tee box# 10
There is plenty that can be done without us organizing a workday.

Again thanks to all the members for making this possible and to Timmy.
Yes, great job Timmy, thanks for the crete.
Have tools in truck and planning on being really early today to try and work on some of the items that are still pending at the course. Will start with the digging behind pro box C and go from there.
Oh and by the way, I am a Grand Master!!
Will be hitting it early again this wednesday to work on some of the outstanding items at the Rock. Will have better tools with me this time and should be able to hit several of the items this time. Will not spend alot of time on back c-box due to no wind and way to many chiggers. If anyone wants to join in I should be there no later than 2:30pm wednesday.
Bringing loppers as well tomorrow for that chigger infected back c-hole. First i will bath in OFF and then destroy the area behind the tee so people can sit/stand whatever while people tee off. Would be nice if I could get a key to the gate's so I could drive to 17 and 16 to work on those items as well. And also #10, but that gate has been unlocked each week so hope it is again. Looks like I will be there sometime around 2pm if not sooner. If anyone see's my truck my tools my cooler and my cart and not me, call for help as either the chiggers or the heat has taken its toll!! Just bring me a Budweiser and that should bring me back!!

Sounds great. Bring your weedeater if you can since you have a locking trunk on your truck. I will bring mine too, but would need to lock in your truck during the round. That way we can weed eat the path's on B-hole and touch up as needed in other spots. Anyone else who wants to help out would be a great thing. Going to go with a few of the "home remedies" and see what happens. Thank god its only on one arm and one knee. Salt water this weekend at the coast probably helped it from spreading as thats when it started to really show its nasty head. I looked it up and its poisen sumac. Really hard to get rid of. Hopefully one of the home remedies will work or I will keep looking like a raw tomatoe.

holy crap!
I overheard a pharmacist recommend spermicidal jelly for poison ivy. She said that it would keep it from spreading since poison ivy is an oil. The instructions were to wash with soap and warm water then apply jelly as needed. Then use any type of cortizone cream for itching. -- Marnie from MN
can you imagine trying to explain why you have a bottle of KY in your bag...I am not sure what would be worse the lube in the bag or coming home with a Jimmy stuck to your shoe.No offense Jimmy!!!!lol! :p
Between the bleach bath and the high level clorine swim it seems to have done its job. It feels alot better today although it still looks painful and blood red. Its not my first rodeo with this crap but it is the first bad case in two years from out there. Should be able to play tomorrow if repeated bleach and chlorine swims go well tonight. Again, thanks for the tips on how to kill it.

Bigarm was recovering from a 5-day bender and had to clean the house before the wife got back from Kanas City. It seems like yall had plenty of young guns to help out. I'm sure that the course looks great. I can help out with the paint and maybe the string if we still have any in stock. Just let me know when we need it. Yes looking good if not great for Outlaws. Meet and spent some time with Jonnie Keith (crew chief) with the parks dept. Said that they would complete mowing by friday am at the latest and that they would also cut back as much as 20 more feet on c-hole to the right. He also said that if we ever have any issue's, like broken limbs high weeds tree's that need prunning, to just drop an e-mail or call the parks dept and they would have no problem getting on their list of TO-DO'S. Nice guy and he seemed to understand how much WE care for our course. Can't wait to see how it looks this pm. See yall this afternoon.

OK kids - here we go again. Got a call yesterday that if we can pull this same type of teamwork together, we have the go ahead to install concrete tee boxes at Wilco. I have already put in the call to check on the donation/pricing on the concrete & will research the wood, fasteners, & rebar once I know where we stand on the crete pricing. If we can pull together the supplies, are ya'll ready for the labor? Won't go quite as smoothly as the ROCK with all the freakin' rocks @ Wilco, but I understand we'll have bobcat availabilty during our pou & work days. This would also be a quick job as the ground can't be open for too long between the dig & the pour. I'm sure we all remember what it took last time - I just want to make sure we're commited before I get to deep into the negotiations. 2 courses with concrete in just over a year - way to go Double R.
