I just walked in after inspecting the courses. Amazing what this last lot of rain did. Everything is green and growing like crazy. The city has already done most of the trimming and now it's just a day or so more for the ground to dry a little and then the mowing starts. It will all look very nice.

We even have bleaches at the end of the pool for the crowd to sit on. The pool looks great, it's a shame we can't use it. I will see if I can call in some favors for this to happen.

When you get your players pack please note the rules and maps sheet inside. It has both rules for Am's and Pro's on separate pages. Make sure you know which one to read. I will say it a few times over the weekend but it is your responsiblity to know the rules. There is no excuse, unless you are blind and can't read them.

The players program is separate and includes the schedule and other good info including some sponsor offers and a little goodbye word from me.

Ladies don't forget to collect your little extra gift from me when you arrive.

We are now at 148 paid entries. I have lots more arriving on Friday plus all the locals on Thursday so things are looking good. Good to see all those Adv guys playing MPO Trophy on Sunday. Who will be on Barry's card. Who will be on Coda's card? Who will be on my card?

Maybe the gas prices dropping will help sway a few extra to make the trip. It's as low as $2.20 around here.

I will post this list of the PDGA page in a few mintues after I correct the division names because of the trophy only option.

Please let me know if there is anything to correct on this list.

My guesses:

Saturday will FILL
Sunday will hit 101

For those of you waiting to enter, here are some things to think about. As of the last posting by Chris there are 100 pre-registered players for the Am event on Saturday. Generally the largest group of preregisteration come in on Wednesday and Thrusday. If we assume 30 more players then PRE-REGISTERED will be 130. After that generally an increase of 50% to 200% of the pre-registered number will be added Friday and Saturday. I expect that since this is a Texas 10 event that the number of players pre-registering is larger than normal. If we say only 50% more, then the total count will be something like 195 players by Saturday morning. The field will cap before that. At 5 players per card the max will be 180. Do yourself a favor, if you are driving any distance PREREGISTER or you will be left out in the cold for Saturday.

If you do drive in and don't make the cap, consider playing Sunday trophy only. It will be a great chance to test the waters and is inexpensive.

If you do play Saturday, please stick around to either join the gallary or join in the fun as well. The gallary should be fun, there are TWO World Champoin's playing this event and while the Open champion will put on the better show, the 2006 Adv. Master World champoin will also be playing on Sunday and may be worth watching as well. ;)

Outback Steakhouse confirmed our menu for the weekend. We will all be enjoying grilled chicken breasts seasoned with that Outback touch, rice and ceasar salad. Add to that all the Big Red brand sodas and Vitamin water you want and it will be a very nice meal. Not too heavy, not too light, just right.

The meat will all be grilled around the pool. Now that is going to smell good. My steak and shrimp will be cooked to perfection.

For desert we will have a nice shaved ice van taking care of everyone.

100% of the proceeds from the $5 lunch donation will go to the LAF.

No black on the outside, raw on the inside, chicken seconds for this event. We are going to eat in style.

Turns out it hasnt worked out for me as well as it did last year , everybody changed plans but I am coming anyway if I have to drive all night :)

Good news everyone. If you would like to buy anything in the pro shop on the weekend I will be able to accept your debit or credit cards.

However just to make processing time a little quicker and efficient and not have people buying a mini disc on the card I will say a minimum $25 purchase price will apply.

No excuse now not to buy lots and lots of cool stuff. :D

Signup at http://www.titledisc.com before around noon on Friday. After that I will be at the Pro Shop in the City Pool Clubhouse from 1pm to 8pm Friday night. For all you Am�s this will be your last chance to enter. No Amateur entries will be taken Saturday morning. If you are playing Pro or Pro Trophy on Sunday you have until Saturday around 7pm to enter in person.

Credit Cards Accepted:
For this weekend I will be able to accept Visa, Mastercard and Amex in the Pro Shop. All I ask is that the charge is for a minimum $25. Bring cash, your credit card, debit card or check book and walk away with some very cool disc golf merchandise.

Friday Night Doubles:
Flex start / Pick your own partner. Tee off any time between 2-6pm. The course played will be the Back 18 (City Hall Course). Enter at the Pro Shop in the Live Oak City Pool Clubhouse. Pro�s $30 per team, Am�s $20 per team and Ladies $10 per team. Pro�s get cash payout and Am�s merch payout.

Who Can Play the Final?:
Quite simply�anyone. Any amateur player can play on Saturday. Am�s may also play on Sunday against the Pro�s. However on Sunday you must be a PDGA member.

Please remember you need not have played any other Texas 10�s all year. Everyone is welcome to play. Even 2-time World Champ Barry Schultz is coming, and even a few Okies.

Players Meeting and National Anthems:
The meeting will start at exactly 9am both days. It is mandatory to be there as I will announce specific course rules you will need to know. Trust me as there are certain holes you are not playing and the meeting is where you will be told. I promise the meeting will be as brief as possible.

Player Check-in
You do not need to check in at HQ. If you are paid you are good to go and be ready at the players meeting. Am�s can collect their players pack anytime during the weekend but it will be best to get it before the round on Saturday as it contains the course maps and rules.

I doubt I will be online again until late tomorrow night since I will be at the pro shop from 1pm to 8pm doing doubles and taking signups. Prior to that I will be fine tuning the course details and picking up a VIP from downtown.

Hi all,

SuperGirl asked me to post and wish everyone good luck this weekend. She really wanted to play in the TX10 final and really feels bad about missing it. However her soccer team is trying to qualify for division 1 status and they have a soccer game this saturday at 11:00am. She is a key player on the team and doesn't want to let her teammates down by missing the soccer game.

So Nicole wishes everyone good luck! She also wanted me to send a special hi and thanks to Chris for all great things he has done for disc golf. And I want to say thanks to Chris as well.

Wow another great day. I am still inputing all the entries from today and waiting on the online entries. Regardless of the total number the Am day tomorrow is full. No entries will be taken in the morning. All the card assignments etc will be done tonight.

We had a huge turnout for doubles so I doubt I will get to enter them tonight. I will likely do it during the first round tomorrow. Results will be posted by lunch at the course.

And let's not forget the CTP for the ace pot...Alex Hughes hitting nothing but chains from across the pool...with a two finger flick. Oh, did I mention it was with an Ultra Star ultimate disc?

Barry called his CTP shot...a skip off of the swimming pool, which he nearly made too.

Glad I got to play on the same card as Barry and Coda in the first round...what a great way to make my Pro "debut". ;)

Chris --- thanks again for everything you've done for Disc Golf in Texas and around the United States. You've made a lot of friends here, and you'll be sorely missed.

What an incredible day. I was on the video camera this afternoon and my heart is still pounding after Neal Dambra of Houston hits dead center chains and it spits out left. Wait a few days and I will post the most incredible photo of that shot with the disc surrounded by chains. Haven't watched the video yet but will make it public as soon as possible. Simply amazing.

Sorry the live scoring didn't work. John Duesler had to catch a mid afternoon flight back to Phili with the equipment and the phone internet card never arrived for me to post from the course.

I just got home after a little restaurant celebration. I am going to see if I can get the scores up tonight, if not I will have Gary look at them in the morning for me. JD won over $1100 with Barry $600.

What a great supporting crew I had this weekend. We had packed up and left the clubhouse by 9:30pm tonight. Lots more on them later.

By the way did anyone see the weather in Live Oak today. :D

I will post lots more about the events of this weekend over the coming days and weeks. I think I have many years of great stories to tell after this one.

What a fun time. We had three of us carpool down to Live Oak from DFW and picked up another in austin. Well worth the drive and hotel stay. I wish I would have discovered disc golf and the texas 10 much sooner. For the love of disc golf... can somebody please have a series as awesome as the texas 10 for me to keep playing. I am as amateur as they come but I can see what Chris has done as huge for the sport in our state.

How did the payout go after the am on saturday? I was one of the first people to payout. The SECOND we closed the car doors to pull out of the parking lot... the most supreme and awesome display of electrical power lit the sky to an intrusive green shade. Then the lights went out. What happened when that happened? I have not seen anyone post about it yet. Did the power come back right away or did yall have to improvise?

Freakin' sweet to see Barry Schultz in person. Same feeling as when I was a kid and seeing Nolan Ryan face to face. Thanks for the signed disc. I am sure I will beat you at ProWorlds sometime in the future. sorry.

It was crazy. I was up on stage doing the raffle and presentations with the lighting storm approaching us from behind me. It was getting closer by the minute. I hope someone got a picture of me on stage with the lighting coming down behind me.

The instant I walked off stage we all grabbed the PA system and then the weather let loose. It was a MASSIVE lighting storm right on top of us the minute I finished the presentations.

We never lost power at the clubhouse. The hotel and most Live Oak houses lost power until 3:30am. Myself and a few others went to Outback to celebrate and watched as the lighting came down all around us. This went on for hours.

I got home to no problem and enjoyed a good sleep in the airconditioning.

Today after a good heavy rain last night the forecast was not that good. However I called in the weather bubble for one last time and what do you know, it worked. :D A day that just keep getting better.

The day ended in beautiful sunshine, experiencing some incredible ace runs and throwing for a CTP across and off the pool.

I chained out of an ace for 350 bux one time and my heart was racing like crazy for the next 2 holes afterwards. I can't imagine what the feeling was like for 30,000.

Here are the Am's from Saturday. There are a few mior mistakes so I will get those corrected before they go up for ratings etc. I thought people might like to see them now. If there was anyone in the bonus that was not on the this list I corrected in the payout line. Also notice the payout for the bonus. 100% of all Am's that were in the bonus got something.

I am headed out to put everything back in the Thunder so I doubt I will be back for a while.

It was a real privilege to join the Texas 10 Finale this weekend in Live Oak.

I have travelled throughout the country this year as part of the National Tour support team, and I must say that I am, not only impressed with the disc golf skills that were on display this weekend, but with the disc golf knowledge as well! Congratulations Texas for your dedication and support of our great sport.

It was a real pleasure meeting so many of you at Chris's finale. To a person, I was treated with great respect and kindness, so thank you for that.

Finally, I would like to make mention of the phenomenal efforts (and results) of Chris! We only met this year in Houston for the first time, so I am sad we didn't get more time together to promote our great sport. However, I am thrilled to have had at least a few months to learn from the master. Thanks for that Chris...you will be sorely missed.

Yes,

1st, thanks Chris for starting up the Texas 10's. I have enjoyed our conversations and am only sorry I was unable to make a serious offer for the naming rights and trailer.

Before the Texas 10's, you rairly ever saw 1 day events. Now our schedule is full of them.

Also, thanks for upgrading the standard of a tournament in Texas. I have worked hard because of the Texas 10's to put on an even better show in Carrollton.

2nd, thanks to Barry Shultz for making the trip to Texas. Not just for playing the Carrollton Open, but for being available to the players on Saturday. I hope Microtel realises what they have in there sponsored player. I for one will now be checking for a Mircrotel when I need a motel 1st.

3rd, Thanks Microtel, the staff on Saturday night made the best of it. No electricity for several hours and having to deal with frustrated people. (not just disc golfers) The Van driver even made a beer run for us. (that group sitting in the front) I actually slept pretty good on the window seat :D

4th, thanks to the City of Live Oak. The main reason I have been to the last 3 tournament in Live Oak is because of what they have done for Disc Golf in Live Oak. And yes, the LOSO will be a must play on next years schedule for me.

5th, thanks to all the Masters I played with this weekend, Alex, Jerry, Jerry, Mark, Kyle, Doug, and James.

6th, thanks to Robbie and Glen for letting me hitch a ride and stay in the motel with them.

7th, CONGRATS to JD, nothing better can be said about him that already has been. He is truely a class act, he is a great guy to play with, and I am so glad he won this weekend, it was truely deserved.

One last note, I am not going to comment on the future of the Texas 10's other than we need to realize Chris was Chris, and the new person will do things differently. I will l not pass judgement till after the first year. There is always a learning curve. Anyone remember Chris and Trevors first year??????

We didnt stay at Microtel, but from all accounts it sounded like a fine place to stay (at a good price too). Dr. John mentioned to me how the Microtel execs were very impressed with the entire event and how the hotel was almost FULL because of disc golf!! I hope everyone will consider staying at a Microtel when possible, I know we will.

I will second the comments from Pizza_God. Not that I have heard any negative things about next year, but when the new season rolls around....give Tx 10 the same support that you would have if Chris was still around. There will undobtabley be some things that are done differently...but, give it a chance. Who knows, it could even be better!!!

Thanks so much everyone. I really don't know where or how to start thanking everyone. I will be posting thanks and great stories of this weekend for a long time to come.

I spent the day finishing cleaning up the clubhouse and loading it all back into the Thunder then getting the clubhouse cleaned up.

I was very close to jumping into the pool for a while this afternoon when no one was around. :D Especially after the amount of money I paid the sleeping lifegaurd all weekend. You would think with the amount I was paying her to be there she would have at least stayed awake and wore a bikini. :eek:

I will be spending the day tomorrow inventoring all my merchandise and getting it ready for the business hand over to Kenney tomorrow.

I am trying to track down that amazing photo from Joe P with Neal's disc in the chains for the $30K.

Anyway I still have work to do then try to get the scores on the PDGA tour page later. Please remember when those results are posted they will not include the bonus payout and not show the trophy only players.

When the PDGA starts processing it, I lose access to the unofficial scoring. As long as Chris gets it correct on the TD report, it will be corrected when it becomes official.

That's just so you won't worry if I can't get it fixed.

Please look over your entries and make sure it's correct.
If we have it wrong here, it will be wrong on the official report unless you let us know.

The numbers have been corrected on the PDGA report.

I just wanted to let everyone know I am still here. :D I have not forgotten about the hole-in-one pics and video. I have certain legal obligations with the insurance company and sponsors before I can release the info. I will then try to get what I can up on my website.

I have also been crazy busy packing, cleaning up and getting ready to spend a few days at the coast next week. For those couple of people with corrections to their PDGA numbers those were corrected in the PDGA report, so no worries.

I still have a small amount of INNcolor discs, hats and minis if anyone wants. I will try to get them on my website late tonight rather than bother with eBay.

Off to pick up all the disposable cameras. That should be interesting. :D

G'day Everyone,

I have just returned from a great trip down to the coast and away from my phone and computer. I even got to play lots of disc golf and spend lots of time relaxing. I will be heading back next week to play the Shule School in Ingleside just near Corpus. If anyone wants info on that there is a separate thread.

I want to congratulate my awesome new doubles partner Liz Lopez. Liz shot her personal best at West Guth yesterday with a score of -1 and in the process beating me by 2 shots. Well done Liz, you played awesome. Look out for Liz in upcoming events. She has one of the best putts I have ever seen.

The photos I was expecting on the final was delayed in the mail so I hope they arrive this week so I can get the good ones up online.

This weekend I will be in Austin working with the LAF for the LiveSTRONG Challenge Weekend. It is going to be an inspirational weekend.

Not long now to go before I head off into the sunset. Lots more to do and lots more fun to have before I do however.

Chris Ol' buddy I can't say this more sincerely , I am going to miss you.I really enjoyed your tournaments , your professionalism, and your personality . There may come a time in my life where I am not able to play in as many tournaments as I played in these last 2 years .I just want to say thank you so much .
