The ADGA crew is going to take it a little easy on you guys this year :D. Allot of our A team members have things going on in their lives currently so our B-team is stepping up to fill in some spots. We're not quite as strong as the last three years, but we will definately still be competitive. It's time for someone else to try and capture the title of TX Team Champions and it looks as though we may have a few teams to give us a challenge this year. Good luck to all of you and remember........The most fun wins ;).

Here's a thought...
Because ratings are the main guidelines for divisions this year, official pros (registered with pdga, accepted cash, etc) are being allowed to play certain am spots if their ratings are low enough.
OK
But this SHOULD mean that official ams (registered with pdga, never accepted cash, etc) should not be allowed to play those am spots for which their ratings are too high. I'm thinking especially of those advanced players whose ratings are over 955.
If pros are allowed to play down, then ams should have to play up.

That's wrong lil Jedi, but it's about as funny as Robbie at Am Worlds - places in the putting/skills competition but not the long drive :o
About people with certain ratings "not playing in their division" -
1. This isn't sanctioned
2. Some of these people joined teams before their ratings were >955
3. When did a 955 begin to qualify you as a pro player?
4. Some teams have a 970 pro-1, 964 pro-2, and a 960 advanced 1. If I knew my team's name, I would use us as an example. Therefore, it evens out

I didn't bring this up because I'm mad about it, just wanted to stir up a little trouble. :D
I know it's not sanctioned, but we have also been told that ratings are going to be used in determining positions/qualifications, so they become relevant and important.
As far as the "955 for pro" thing. In regular pdga stuff, registered pros can play down to advanced IF their rating is under 955. This means that the pdga has determined that 955 and above rated pros are "too good" to play in advanced.
Since official registered divisions aren't really important at Teams, but ratings are (see pdga pro women playing in rec/am/advanced women spots), it therefore follows that any male with a rating of 955 or above should have to play in one of the pro spots, because they are "too good" to play advanced.
:D:D:D
also old farts like a certain retired fireman, Thomahawk throwing, two finger rolling, backhand rolling, out of the woods putting, flick throwing, and every other round normal backhand crushing 943 rated Mastr Pro can't possibly play swing man as an advanced master(925 and below if you've accepted cash Mr Red Rock Show Champion), and we all know the old fart is too young to be a grand master!
and Larry the sex change operation your considering will not let you play advanced woman either!!!!!!

I'll let the teams post their own rosters if they want to. Here's the latest on the big picture.
Rivery has officially moved up to Established, and it looks like Riverside Ultimate is putting together a team. That would make 19 Established teams.
19 is an awkward number for making pools. 20 is a beautiful number. Where can we find another team? Hello, Searight? Lubbock? Temple? Dallas? Cat Hollow? Twin Parks? Lago Vista? We do know of a couple pros and a master who might be willing to play.
We did add Abilene to the Emerging division, so they now have 5.
More news as it happens...
Looking forward to a great weekend.

I figured if we waited long enough, some [I'm a potty-mouth!] hole would call us out. :D
Team Hitchcock (aka The Brooks Brothers) includes:
Leading it off is a young man who in 1 month lost his car, his job and his home, my boy; Jay "the refugee" Walsdorf.
Second to bat in the Pro division, is our favorite nonmexican mexican Micheal Ynfante.
Playing the age protected "Pro" spot; Mr. Lee Deforke you.
Leading off our Adv. division is a real scary dude; Mr. Brian "Boo" Pearson.
And framing out the adv. players; Randy Roland
A new comer to the Brooks team this year in the top int. spot; Cody Carothers.
And the man that has the distint pleasure of being the man with best sandbagging possibilities; the man with two first names; Mr. Larry Allen.
For our adv. women player, we rustled this fine player from the brushes of our very own course; Ms. Jennifer Beazley.
And a-last, the trouble maker, Adv. master for a while longer, daddy to so many courses; they all just call me Poppapop; Mr. Jake Walsdorf
Now let's hear of the ratings scandle from this team roster! :D

This may have already been listed, but who are the 18 established teams? The ones I can think of are as follows:
Waterloo One
Waterloo Also
Circle C
Pease
Round Rock less than 2
Round Rock 2
Round Rock's red headed stepchild Rivery
Hitchcock
Bass
Arlington
Live Oak 1

I'm sure that whole 19 team thing is throwing some major kinks into the pool and scheduling situation.

well?
The scheduling department apologizes for not posting a schedule yet.
We hope we have not caused anyone undue stress or created any ulcers.
As always, most teams will have a players' meeting at 8:00 and will tee-off at 8:30. We will be using shotgun starts, so please do your teammates a favor and arrive on time.
When we have a better idea exactly how many teams there will be, and when we have determined the best way to handle these teams, we will publish a more precise schedule. For now, you would be wise to plan on being in attendance -- and being attentive -- at 8:00 Saturday morning. And that includes your donkey.
And, as has been the case for over 20 years now, captains should make sure their checks are payable to Circular Productions.
Thank you for your consideration. Looking forward to a great weekend. And then a bit of turkey, family, and gratitude.

There are always a few drop-outs at the last minute.
A few teams are looking for Advanced or Intermediate players. If you are a free agent or know of one, please let me know ASAP:
[email protected]
Or call Circle R Friday: 830-833-1227.
None of the teams in need are especially competitive, so sandbagging shouldn't be an issue.

thanks John see you this afternoon. I think you have a mistake with Rivery it appears they are playing holes 9-17 on circ hill course @ 8:30 against waterloo than they are on the same course @ 11:30 against moffitt one  I think they need to play RM holes 1-9. also notices RR1 plays RM holes 10-18 twice at 1:00 and 4:00 but never play circ hill holes 1-8,18  RR2 plays all courses which I likey..

Chris, I hear you. But, after 40+ hours working on the schedule the last 5 years, I have yet to see a way to make that happen.
Here's why: during pool play, every pool willl play each course once, and one course twice. At any one time, four teams are playing, and one is resting. Depending on when your team gets a bye, you may get to play all four, or you may not.
As always, if you make the semifinals, we will try to put you on a course you haven't played yet.
And you may get to play a new course during the Mixmaster.
If anyone can come up with a schedule that solves this problem (and all the other problems that have already been solved), please show me. It's a challenging math test. The perfect schedule may still be out there.
Thanks,
John

THE MIXMASTER!
Established teams who don't win your pool Saturday will play in the
Mixmaster Sunday morning at 8:30 (meeting at 8:00).
The Mixmaster will be:
3 people playing Best Shot on Rolling Meadows 1-9
3 people playing Alternating Shot on Rolling Meadows 10-18
3 people playing Alternating on Circ Hill 1-8, 18
Remember that each player will tee from his/her division's tee, so
Intermediate and Swings tee from White, and Am Women tee from
red.
Also, if you're short a player or two you can have 1 or 2 people play best shot. You must have 3 for Alternating.
The top four teams in the Mixmaster will advance. The other 11
teams will be free to play grudge matches and eat fajitas.

Nov 18 2005, 02:49 PM
In fact, we have just made a small (but important) schedule change.
These matchups in Pool C have been moved from1:00 to 2:30
Live Oak B-Riverside Ultimate
Pease-Ultimate Fuego
This gives Pool C an earlier lunch time and prevents Riverside from playing 36 holes in a row.
These matches have switched from Circ Hill 9-17 at 4:00 to Circ Hill 1-8,18 at 4:00:
Live Oak B-Ultimate Fuego
Pease-Round Rock Two
And these matches have moved from Circ Hill 1-8,18 at 4:00 to Circ Hill 9-17 at 4:00
Bass-Live Oak A
Waterloo One-Winedale
This will improve flow and give Pool D a shot at the back of the hill, which they did not have previously.
Again, FINAL OFFICIAL SCHEDULES will be given out tomorrow.

John, the question was about meetings.
One at 8:00, one at 9:00
People are already making plans on what time to be there. Some people with the 9:00 meeting aren't going to show up until after 8:00 perhaps. Shouldn't happen, but if you are going to change any groups from the 9:00 to 8:00 or vice versa that is some major communication that is needed since times were already posted. :p

Question? What question?
We WILL NOT change anyone's start times. You can bank on what's been posted as far as players meetings. This ain't my first rodeo -- I know better than to mess with start times once they've been posted. But thanks for pointing that out.

OK. sports fans, it's been a crazy weekend. Never had so many ties and tie-breakers in one tournament...wow.
Pro-Turn and San Marcos were the top 2 teams in Emerging -- they should be coming in any minute from their 18-hole final on the hill.
The four pool winners in Established were Circle C, Pease, Waterloo Too (by a whisker) and Bass.
Waterloo One and Live Oak B came out of the Mixmaster clean, but 3 teams were tied for the last two spots. Yes, that's right: 9-way alternating sudden death. 27 people on one hole, and a big gallery. Greatest playoff format in the sport.
Round Rock One, sadly, dropped out on the first hole. Live Oak A and Z Boaz survived.
In the Quarterfinals, Pease and Waterloo One came in tied, as did Circle C and Live Oak B. They played out the matches that were tied after 9 holes, with Waterloo One and Live Oak B prevailing.
Z Boaz took care of the mighty Bassassins, and Waterloo Too handled Live Oak A.
In the semis, in a match reminiscent of Arlington A vs. B, the Waterloos paired up. Waterloo one shocked the world and headed to the finals against Live Oak B, who snuck by Z Boaz 5-4 (again with one match going past 9 holes).
Stay tuned...

Wow. What finishes.
San Marcos, who got their clocks cleaned by Pro-Turn, turned the tables and won 4-0 to take the Emerging division.
In Establsihed, two matches out of nine went into sudden death. With Waterloo One ahead 4-3, they only needed to win one for the title.
But Live Oak B wouldn't give up, and they prevailed 5-4.
Waterloo One showed tremedous heart, and it's tough to see them not finish their Cinderella run.
Thanks to the 201 players who made the trip. It was a great weekend. Next year I'll wish for fewer tough calls to make, so the teams can have complete control of their own destiny.
Congratulations to San Marcos and Live Oak B (and condolences to Chris Albert, who has no come oh-so-close in the last four Texas Team Finals).
Hey John you were way too busy to interrupt when I had to go, but I want to reitterate the feelings of everyone I met out there this weekend that it was a blast.
