Hole 5 photographer: pretty sure that was me. We paced it off at about 100 feet.

Somewhere I have that one. Was that Friday or Saturday?

If anyone has pics of Favourite Son Charlie Beal [4th in the distance comp] the folks here would appreciate a word-up!:) ;)

Sorry...no pics of Charlie but I do have a USDGC related story to tell about him:

Charlie was back at the hotel on Saturday following his final round and was looking through his caddy book when he discovered that his group had made a scoring mistake in his favor on one of the previous days rounds. He promptly jumped back into his car and drove back to the course and found Harold Duvall and I in the scoring office to report this error. As Charlie put it, "I wanted to report this to you before you figured the payout and wrote checks."

Charlie's score was corrected and he was penalized two additional strokes for the incorrect score. Unfortunately for him, the two penalty strokes knocked him out of the last cash spot and cost him $270. When I informed him of the bad news, not only did he not whine about it, but he smiled and said that he wanted to do the right thing..

Nobody would have known about the error if Charlie had not reported it himself. While Charlie may have missed out on a $270 check, he gained the respect and admiration of both myself and Harold. It is people like Chalie Beal that inspires me to continue promoting our great sport.

Thanks Charlie!

Regards,
Brian Graham

I guess that's one good thing about Disc Golf, No Sports Illustrated reporters waiting to make sure your drop was a good one.

Good move Charlie.

...and they told us learning to read would pay off... :(

Hopefully, it will pay off for Charlie in some other way with good Karma like in the new "My name is Earl" show...

USDGC is by far the best tournament around. Good golfers on a challenging course, surrounded by good people. Thanks Jonathan Poole, if noone else noticed, thanks for mowing the grass. :D
