Hinds, Moose Run would be better. That way we could lock the gates and force Wise to play the whole round if he's taking a beat down. And you should let me be the scorekeeper.

Actually in "Hindsight" I didn't think very much about the courses. I really should have thought about The Lodge or Moose Run, even the Civitan which I have only played a few holes. I am flexible on location, but I will stand by what I agreed to as well.

Sorry buddy, public park and anyone can watch. You can bring you're own scorekeeper but you'd better be ready for a huge crowd.:D

And no push. Don't bring that crap up after you have ACCEPTED. If we push, we can playoff for it. NO TIES! A winner will be determined. All the money goes to the ICE Bowl.

No, forget it. Hinds can't win at McClure against Wise without strokes so your whole casino deal is crooked. You're the one that posted 5-1 after strokes had already been talked about and now you're clucking like an Arkansas chicken.

Hinds should do the right thing and blow off the bet and just donate that money directly to the Ice Bowl. No sense in cutting Wise in for half.

Dorries, thought we were cool. Why you coming after me ? I said accepts vs. excepts because of the way the word is being used. I could care less about spelling.

After practice tonight I need to check on some things but Friday is the most likely option. I have said I coach on tuesdays and thursdays so I need my energy to keep up with those kids. I will also be in Grove and Pryor till probably at least 4pm tomorrow. So no way it is happening Wednesday or Thursday. If things don't line up for Friday (Weather whatever havent checked) then I will be free Sometime Sunday or Monday after 4.

Also, playing at 4 takes away from my pay check. So unless wise wants to pay for my hour of work i will be missing then Sunday or Monday is best. (Mondays I leave early)

And finally, I said you can't BEAT ME. I didn't say you couldn't tie me. If I push I win, or bets off. simple as that.

Now with that said, gotta go teach some kids a lil Basketball.

Friday 4pm. I get the push.McClure Park. I am not scared. But I am also not stupid. Since I am not asking for strokes. That is why I consider a tie a win since that is not actually beating me in 18 holes. I dont think it will come down to a tie, so it shouldn't matter. Ball is in Wise court. My decision is final.

I'll call your bluff. But you will have too wait 2-3 weeks. I will gladly put 50 cash on the line. If you can take that from me then I may have to do double or nothing. Soon as i get my tax return I will have money to blow.

I don't think you can beat me at any course, even yours ! But I'll take McClure :)

So there you have it. I laid it on the line.....again. Like I said take my 50 first then you can try for more.

Also, you are rated higher than me and i should ask for strokes, but I wont.
If we push I win. Deal ????

I'll give you the push, however, you are the one that called me out on it, for Charity. The Charity event is this Saturday. NOT Sunday, NOT Monday. I only agreed to this for charity. Straight up, you haven't earned the right to play me for money. You may see me play lots of people for money but they didn't get to on the first shot. They have to earn their way in. Just ask Hicks about his first try. I let him off easy. You, I'm going to crush!

This WILL go down Friday at 4:00!!!!! I will be there, if you're not there, you'll never have another chance and you will be the new pony that all the golfers ride like its a kids birthday party!

Bring your caddy, scorekeeper, who ever, I don't care. Hell, have Furdog there. That would be a toofer for me.:D Take you and he down at the same time.

I can see Hinds now........sleeping with his putter the next two nights. Whispering to it......"please, please, pretty please be nice to me".

Jan 20 2010, 11:25 AM
Well I don't see why you guys just don't settle this Saturday on Moose Run at the Ice Bowl. You both will have max mullies so it will still be even and it will add even more drama to the event.

Hinds, Wise is right. Win or lose this money is going to charity and doing it after Saturday is BS. I had over ten people in the gallery when I had my big showdown against Thong at Dovillio so you shouldn't be scared. Especially since most people will be playing and the only witness's to the beat down will just be those that are on your card.

You always brag how anyone can hang with the pro's at Chandler so here is your chance to prove it. I don't think Wise really cares where this showdown takes place so put up or shut up.

On top of that, should Wise slip up and lose for some reason I want to see the look on Duff's face when he's paying me $70.:)

on a lighter note....

the ice bowl cherries have been a-marinatin since monday night. i added a bit of Courvoisier to the batch along with my typical everclear to give it a little more flavorful kick.

i've also started the three batches of cherries for C-Stock. one batch always goes to the Dawg and the Moose, one batch will be carried from camp to camp, and the "long island iced tea" cherries will be for sale, 25c each or 5/$1. and i sampled the syrup after i added all that liquor, and it is a-ma-ziiiiing.

THE 2010 TULSA ICE BOWL
Charity Disc Golf Tournament

Welcome and thank you for your support of The Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma. Huge Thanks as well to Scott Schumacher (Furdog) , Marie Greninger , and Tulsa County Parks for loaning us the Course.
Also, Big Thanks go to Steve and Kathy Ward for our Website maintenance.

This Event at Chandler Park is geared for you to Enjoy disc golf while enhancing our reputation in the community. Your participation to compete in two-rounds will Support this very-active Charity and their superior distribution of food and nutrition to the hungry.

Both of the 18-hole-Courses at Chandler are short and sweet , thereby requiring less time to play. There is not a long lunch break in the schedule.
The only O.B. anywhere on these Courses is over the Fence into the Ballfields.

Players will accomplish their 36-holes by their choice of several options:

9am --and-- 11am ( optional back-to-back Rounds )
9am --and-- 2pm ( with a break between Rounds )
11am --and-- 2pm ( optional back-to-back Rounds )

The order in which you play the two Courses is also somewhat optional, pending your Group decision -or- the TD. As long as you play all 18-holes on both Courses.

The 9am early-bird round will tee shotgun-start by air-horn at 9:10am.
Play 18 holes & turn in scorecards, pencils, and the baggie they all came in.

The 11am round will tee shotgun-start by air-horn at 11:10am.
(This round is also a possible second-round for some players at their request ). Remember: turn in everything including the baggie after completion of 18 holes.
OR , after 36 holes (if your Group chose to play back-to-back Rounds).

Each Player will have their own two-round Scorecard , enabling playing-groups to be formed quickly by the TD -or- by the Players themselves.
Group Size : most practical size would be 4 or 5 Players well try to have no more than 6 per Hole assignment also, the possibility is okay that a smaller-or-faster Group may ask the Group ahead to allow them to play through. Good Manners go far.

C-T-P for Original-18 ( Bears Lair ) Course is Hole # 13 measure tape is there
and we need one overall winner for the day.
C-T-P for New-18 ( Moose Run ) Course is Hole # 18 measure tape is there and
we need one overall winner for the day.
. . . expect some possible extra C-T-P throws & prizes during the day . . .

The 2pm round will tee shotgun-start as soon possible after 2:00pm.

The Ace-Pot must be hit or there will be an extra throw-off afterwards.

Choice Mulligans are coupons good for one (1) extra throw anywhere on a hole : tee-shot , approach , or putt this extra throw will enable the player to choose between his two shots for which one to play if used , the mulligan must be reported to the scorekeeper in your group after each hole

Limit for use : one (1) mulligan-coupon per hole .

side-notes on Mulligans : you do not have to throw both shots back-to-back unless you want to . ! You must announce to your group before you re-throw. !
A Mulligan shot is valid everywhere : Aces , CTPs , Birdies , Side-Bets.
We will be earth-friendly and litter-free on Mulligans in 2010. Rather than carry paper mulligan-coupons , the scorecard will be marked before the round by your TD for your mulligan count. As so many players buy the maximum amount of mulligans (in support of a good charity) , I will mark that scorecard as MAX before your round and Players in your group will know that you have (1) extra throw per each hole. If a lower number than MAX is written on the card, Mulligan-use must be recorded on the Scorecard in an appropriate manner.

And , as always seems to be the case , generous additional donations help pile up the totals of Cash. As in previous years; any individual who brings a $100 cash sponsor to the Food-Bank totals , will receive their max-mulligan-deal ($15 value) for free.

SMILE ! . . . Because no matter what the weather conditions , and with your participation , Were literally feeding thousands !

Bring Woddy, bring Briley, bring all your brothers, bring anyone you want, just bring $50!!!!!!!!!!!!

When is this happening?

Hinds, you wimp. You're already letting Wise get the better of you. You're starting to remind me of Romo. There ain't no glory to be had playing at McClure.

Settle it at Chandler this Saturday!!!!

And where is Duff to confirm my $10 on Hinds at 7-1 odds?????

Well that's a bunch of BS.:(

Considering Hinds didn't want a big gallery to witness this thing there will probably be three times the gallery showing up at 4pm on Friday to watch this then he would have had on Saturday at Chandler.

I get off work at 4:30 so do me a favor and slowplay as much as you can until I get there.:D Hopefully Hinds can compete for enough holes for there to still be some action to watch before he walks off.

It's really too bad for him also because I heard that if someone had an extra $100 to put on him at Duff's 7-1 odds that there was a possibility that "The Fix" could be on. Can you imagine handing over $700 of Duff's cash to Wayne for charity?:D

Dude....I can't believe you would be soooooo selfish to not even consider the good and the extra hungry mouths that $700 of Duff's money would feed. You could even keep $100 for yourself and still donate $600 as a tax-free deduction.

If you do happen to lose everyone is going to think you did it for charity anyway so you might as well have an excuse lined up just in case.:)

Nobody ever listens to Hinds anyway so why not have a good time by "punking" Duff for a good cause?

Is your ego so big that you lose sight of what the Ice Bowl is all about?

Jan 22 2010, 03:26 PM
This whole BeaverBoy vs BlunderBoy reminds me of back in high school when some head would challenge some jock to a fight after school. The head would get out an hour early and go smoke up with his friends before the fight while the jock would be pumping iron in PE, the last class of the day.

The head would show up with 2 or three of his friends while the jock would show up with 20 or 30 of his jock friends and the head would get the crap kicked out of him only because his stoner friends would never get out of the car because they were intimidated by the number of friends the jock brought with him. Thus the head had no friends in the circle to cheer him on and the fight was over within 2 minutes.

BTW, I'm not accusing either one of these guys of being a "head".

I guess the moral of this story is that if you’re going to pick a fight, finish it on the spot or make sure you bring more friends to the venue than the other guy.

I’m not sure if BlunderBoy has enough friends but should he win he will capture greatness and should he keep it close and lose, then he should keep in mind that though he may suffer some short time public humiliation, .....competing in an epic challenge on a public stage of this magnitude, is like becoming a “Made” member of the Mafia.

Win or lose, he’ll be one of us now.:)

Note to self, bring more stable discs in 20 mph wind.

Wise Great match, I saw you had a bandage on your thumb but it didn't seem to be a factor. Thanks for everyone who went out and supported the both of us. I played as hard as I could but the breaks just werent there. I am going to be thinking of the drive on 15 for a long time. Sorry to those who bet on me to win. Maybe next time.

... yes ... Great Match ... kudos to both combatants ... and "Casino Duff" will chime-in with final tallies ... really good stuff ! ...
.
.
... and then :
.
.
.
... a "public service" kinda note ... a little freaky-deaky occurence ... did you guys notice that white Ford Crown Victoria parked at hole-14 tee pad ? ... had a dented-in drivers-door ... the driver himself sat kinda-low in the window ; and Gary Nail and I think(?) there was a woman sitting on passenger side ... recalling this now , that car followed my van all-around the parking-lot and seventh-street as we followed your final holes ... never looked to pass ... after watching final putt on 18 , we turned around is a driveway and went back to rec.center parking lot ... Gary now says he remembers them cruising around the parking lot ... 25 minutes or so later , after shooting-the-breeze with Duff & FurDog , there's still a little sunlight as I exit the park , past Conners' house and finally take note that this SAME white card is bird-dogging me ... becoming aware of that , I'm over to 11th and heading West ... I test this by staying far-right lane (like I might turn north toward 244) ... getting near Sheridan , I pull left across two lanes to left-lane signal ... he does same right behind me ... driving South on Sheridan , I've stayed in left-hand-lane , and he's slid over to right-hand-lane ... almost even with me at Skateland , when I pull quick-signal ; slow ; and turn left into one of those industrial and warehouse streets ... he's gone past (couldn't help it) and I see he has gotten into left-lane a few blocks ahead to turn ... I calmly turn around in a parking-lot , retrack back a block to Sheridan , turn left and continue South ... I spy this same vehicle (after he'd done a turn-around as well) going North and turning right into the same-street I used ... that's the last I saw of him ; and don't you know I used some wierd-turns and backtracks as I finished driving home ...
.
... now , I don't know if he/they "liked the way we looked in our jeans" -or- were looking to hijack someone ... but regardless , that SAME vehicle was 'shadowing' me like a magnet ... after getting home , I called Gary & told him as well ; knowing that he'd remember that "wierd car playing Journey music" ... he advised that I put a note on here , and that's a good idea ...
.
.
... any of you Park Patrons or Disc-Golfers around McClure watch out for this vehicle ... for whatever reason , they're up to no good ! ...
.
.
... watch yourself around there Conners ! ...

First off thanks to Bryan for a match wellplayed. We both had our moments of destruction but I got lucky and managed a four hole stretch that decided the match. Sorry if the gallery was dissapointed for the lack of smack talk but after the first 9 holes I had considered myself extremly lucky just to be tied. Bryan was great to play with and the large following of spectators made the whole exprience even better.

Glad I could save Duff some money, he was looking a little sick about hole 7.;)

Huge thanks to Coda for being my caddie.:D Top notch and helped me keep the wheels on when it wasn't looking good. Thanks Penny for your words of encouragement.;)

I hope everyone that came out enjoyed it. The biggest benefit is the amount we raised for the ice bowl . I think just that match rasied almost $300 or more.

Bryan anytime you want that rematch just let me know but give me time to heal, that was too close for comfort.

On a side note, after 3 days of anxiety and thinking of nothing but that heads up match, I got home afterwards, finished a beer and passed out.

The head to head part was the easiest of the whole shabang. It was waking up Wed, Thurs. and Friday thinking is it time yet ? I bet I must have pictured each shot 30 times before I ever took it this week. I have never been so mentally and physically drained after just 18 holes. Like I said before "kudos" to WISE. He definetly earned a more respect from me for playing the way he did with a mashed up thumb.

Is it possible we can make something like this an annual Ice Bowl Eve event. Maybe not with just Wise and myself but throw in some top talent as well. WE could sure use the money for great things.

As far as Wayne being followed !!! I have a friend I am dating who is a cop. Give me a tag number and I'll check on it for ya ! Just be carefull, they may have been following you home for the intent of robbery if they saw you handling money. Lately they have been following people home from the mall and jacking people.

... a quick "pre-wrap" note ...
.
... so , today's weather was NOT as seductive to all for playing two-rounds of disc-golf ... (2009's date hit like a Spring-weather-day ; gorgeous and sunny ... 180 Players "crammed" onto ONE course for two-rounds ... that was unbelievable last-year) ...
... for 2010 , outdoor conditions were much different ... Cold and Drizzly ... many who didn't or couldn't attend have usually supported this one-day Event prior to Saturday anyway ; so that's all cool , too ... we still had 146 Players jump-in for two-rounds ... a few less Players , BUT (now that's a heavy BUT) as generous as always AND THEN SOME ! ...
.
.
... full details and results compiled later ; but I can tell you all :

146 Players

O-V-E-R $5400.00 in ca$h donations ( I know this figure will r-i-s-e ) ... WOW

several(?) Hundred pounds of Food

.

.
... lending their notable-talents and efforts to cover-the-back-of their ol' Friend (yours truly) and SERVE THEIR FELLOW PLAYERS were :
Michael Barr
Karla Barton
Cris Hicks
Martin Norris
Gary Nail
Jarrod Harris
Doug Duff
The Line (Corey, Geiger, Logan)

... and FurDog & County Parks (Standingbear) loaned us the TWO-COURSE Park that has proven neccessary to host this puppy ...

WOW...what a week, all disc golfers should give themselves a pat on the back for what we accomplished in the name of charity this week...and lets not forget about them Oklahoma State Cowboys...GO POKES. :D

The Dave Wise and Bryan Hindes event did not disappoint! I think these two enjoyed the hype as much as their up and down round of golf. I want to thank all that supported them, if you made money or not, the Tulsa Food Bank won. With almost $400. in wagers(and Dave Wise donating his winnings) this event donated $275. to the Ice Bowl  ...Great Job everyone, we will do something like this again. Twoputt was almost correct when he said I was about to cry after hole 7...but it was when he hit the tree on 8 and I thought he splashed OB ...but that was when he started playing Wise golf...4 in row, saweeeet!

Over 5 g's made for the food bank just from us enjoying playing disc golf with our friends, AWESOME...Forest continues to set the bar high for all TD's and events...hats off Wayne Forest if it weren't for you and all your hard work this would never be "The Big Daddy" of disc golf events! I enjoyed not only playing but just getting together with a great group of people for a great cause.

...........on a side note winning at the "casino" doesn't suck either. I hope everyone enjoyed playing what we like to call "The Chandler Casino", and if you didn't realize we played for over $130...

Thanks everyone for supporting the Tulsa Disc Sports Association and making events like this possible :)

Are those the best reps the TDSA could come up with for a photo opp? I consider Deering to be reasonable but those other three guys?????

What a wasted opportunity, when you have stellar "face" people like yourself, Hicks, and the "George Clooney" of DG in attendance.:D

Just like last weekend, I don't wear Moose boxers.

It's all na-ture-el baby.

If you're going to want in on this then you're going to have to put up something other than just acting as the bookie.

I'll give you 12 at black hawk

Why do you always try and negotiate deals that work to cover your chicken feathers and reflect your weaknesses. You know dam well that I'll be 12 strokes behind by the time we reach #12.

Is your self asteem that low or is it just your fear that by giving me a fair deal you might actually lose and the humiliation would be too much for you to bear?

Why do you always try and negotiate deals that work to cover your chicken feathers and reflect your weaknesses. Because I'm not stupid You know dam well that I'll be 12 strokes behind by the time we reach #12. Why is it my fault you suck?

Is your self asteem that low or is it just your fear that by giving me a fair deal you might actually lose and the humiliation would be too much for you to bear? I didn't get to where I am by setting myself up to fail. Sorry buddy, truthfully, I would rather not even waste my time on it. Playing you is like when Drew's team has to play a girls team. Its a Lose Lose situation. His team should win and if they do? So what, they beat a girls team. And if they lose, then they got beat by a girls team. They get no praise for a win and only humiliation for a loss. And if I give you 18 strokes and you lose by 15, did you really beat me?

What???....Your kid plays against women in soccer?

That just goes to show you what a fine example you have set for him. After all these years of watching you it's obvious that he has become confused and doesn't know what gender he wants to be when he grows up.:(

When you say a statement like "I didn't get to where I am" does that mean the level you consider yourself to be is someplace everyone should want to be? If that is the case then why don't you work to inspire Drew to be just like you???:D

Sometimes the girls teams play up. Just goes to show that even the girls teams have a bigger sack than you do.

Drew already knows he can kick your arse!

I don't think so. I offered to help you and take that kid under my wing and turn him into a real man but instead you refused and now the kid sits in his room all the time listening to Kenny Rogers and Barry Manalow albums. What a waste.:(

I've seen the players on that team and more than likely the only reason they would play a girls team is probably because they are all little nerds and have no other way of meetings girls.

Kind of like how you used to spend your time meeting girls by standing in the female hygene asle at the grocery store and acting like a doooooosh!!! I guess with you old habits never die because that's a 24/7 deal with you.

And BTW, if you don't want to set yourself up to fail then don't force a 2x guy to accept a 1x t-shirt at one of your events just because you're too cheap to provide them with a 2x.

Who made you Jenny Craig????

I don't know why you feel the need to post personal photos of your trip to Jamaca. You didn't have to travel over 1000 miles to get that when you can get that here everyday of the week.
