$5,000 REWARD
Unfornuately I have just been informed that Big Dave Nicholson's cars were broke into at his house last night sometime. Joe Rotan was staying with him but they didn't get into his vehicle.
What they got:
Dave's baby, his guitar and his ampliphier that he has had since he was a teenager, all of the car stereos, his sons college books, basically everything. All he really wants back is the guitar, no questions asked.
They did leave some finger prints so maybe there is hope.
If you hear anything about this from someone, please let the police know, we don't want dave going away for manslaughter.

Dave, I am very sorry for your loss. I have been the victim of theft several times myself. Backhoe got stolen, trailer, pipe, lots of stuff. Power tongs, and nothing ever comes of it. Just the power tongs alone cost me $18,000 to replace and no insurance, it hurts. Those things are just stuff. But to have your piece stolen that is part of who you are, your history, growing up, memories, man I pray that they find your baby and the s o b's that took it.

Big Dave....post up the info for your guitar and I will start contacting all the pawn shops.

Nov 21 2008, 10:00 AM
With the total number of auto burgleries that occur in Tulsa every day, the chances of recovery are small, not impossible but small. There is always hope that these people will screw up somehow and be caught.
Tulsa has a burglery rate 1.9 times the national average and even car thefts are 1.48 times the national average.
So far just in 2008 through the month of September, Tulsa had over 4800 burgleries, over 10,000 larceny cases and over 1700 auto thefts. :o
We caught a car with four young guys in it two or three years ago on New Years eve breaking into our cars and every car in the neighbor hood, they were arrested and charged with over 90 burgleries and we got our stuff back but it still took over 14 months for our stuff to be returned. The court system seems to favor the guilty and not the victems :(

Thanks everybody for your thoughts, prayers and concerns. Disc golfers are the greatest brothers and sisters a guy could have. I do however have some hope now. Yesterday I got a call from the Tulsa Police telling me they had just pulled over a white female in a stolen pickup that had alot of stolen property including my son's license and bank card and alot of amplifiers, TV's etc. So I rushed down to the police dept and got my son's stuff and looked through the other stuff and low and behold....there's my 4X12" speaker cabinet! I asked where the woman was that they had in custody. They said "right there handcuffed to that bench behind you. Needless to say I lit into that crackhead ([censored]) asking "Where my fin guitar was at?", she was trying to say she didnt remember the hotel she and her male friends were staying in and BS like that. At one point the approx. 12 officers in the room jokingly offered to turn off the camera for me. I with all of my heart wished they weren't joking!! I did get the ([censored]) to admit that there were multiple guitars among other things in the hotel room. So I haven't heard anything today after trying to get ahold of the detective with no success. Hopfully she rolls on her boyfriends to get out of the grand theft auto and possession of stolen property charges shes surely facing and I somehow get my baby back. It is a guitar that I can't replace...period!! But my friends I have hope, and more importantly I have all of you!! THANKS FOR THE THOUGHTS EVERYBODY!! I'll keep you posted.

Lost Disc at Hunter 5
I grip locked on 5 and threw a red Valk into the creek around 250 - 300 feet from the concrete teebox...so...if anyone goes into the creek in that area, please keep a look out...my PDGA number is on the disc with an "X" on the opposite side of the disc from the number...my number is 33710...or... "OILEE"...depending on how you hold the disc while reading...the Disc has a Sandy Point Resort and Disc Golf Ranch stamp on it...
The stamp looks the one below...of course the lost disc is red...not white...and it's a Valk...not a Roc...

Hey, JT, what about that idea you (or your dad) had of laying down nets in front of and behind the island hole during tournament play, and then just lifing out all of those discs in one smooth maneuver? Does anyone have any ideas about appropriate netting. What about the nets used on soccer goals? Anyone reading the board have any ideas for strong but cheap netting?
Jerry Stacey and I fished out 10 or 12 of the discs listed above over about 45 minutes using Golden Retrievers, looking for the ones we lost - did we find ours? - No. There are still lots of discs on the bottom.

I didnt see mine on the list , I have a orange star tee-rex on 15 island course and the one I really want back is an orange wraith with a stillwater classic stamp on it that was in 17 moccasin . I thought I seen someone pull it out a couple cards back but I never seen it on the table. If someone found it I would love to get it back.On most my discs I just put mick on one side of the rim and 69 on the opposite rim. After playing and watching this weekend I think there are at least double that list still lost somewhere on the lodge .That was the most wind I have ever played a tourney in , after a while it was just comical, to watch people six putt from thirty feet away on 18 island was amazing in itself but to see advanced players throw 350' backwards was something I never thought I would see.Great times , Thank you to everyone .

I don't mean to be critical, but if 40+ discs are being lost from 1 event, shouldn't some kind of change be made? I don't know anything about the course, I've never been there, but that seems a bit excessive on risk somewhere in the design.
Please don't take my questions/comments in the wrong way. I just don't understand playing a course where you stand a large chance of losing that many discs. I saw a post that someone claimed they lost 6 discs. Sorry, I'm just a bit confused with the logic of designing a hole(s) with such a large percentage to lose discs.
Please help me out here with some understanding. I've heard good things about this venue, but these kind of statistics leave me wondering why I would want to play there.

Tom, with 30-45 mph winds thats how it goes. This was the first time I landed in the water in event play. Great venue, great hole. PM Kevin McCoy with design questions I am sure he can fill you in on the formulas. I watched a advanced female 3 it, drop in style...
Rest assured The Lodge is not the itty bitty, public park course kinda stuff we normally see round these parts...

Apr 08 2009, 01:24 AM
Yes I lost six discs. That was during 2 rounds on the course in strong winds. They were on 3 different holes, 1 in a creek and the other 5 in 2 different ponds. One was because of the wind, 2 were bad shots on my part and two were good shots that rolled off the island. The one in the creek we just couldnt find. I have throw 3 or 4 in the lake at Fountain Hills AZ in one round before. I knew what to expect when I got to the lodge and came prepared with discs I was willing to lose on all but 2 of them. The only suggestion I had for JT and the Lodge about the course was maybe some woodchips on the island until the grass gets thicker. Would I change the course...No that is half the fun of playing it. Do I need to learn to throw hole 15 better..Yes
Plus if you play the holes clean, it is very rewarding!! :)

Joe,
Like I said I wasn't trying to be critical, just wanted to have some understanding. I have heard good things about the venue and just wanted some clarification in my mind to help me out with what I was reading. I am sure you and the folks who own and run the place have nothing but the best in mind for all who play there.
With 30-45 mph winds I now have a better understanding. With those kinds of wind and any water on a course, it makes much more sense now.
Thanks for the clarification.

Tom, The winds here at The Lodge lately have been stronger than usual. We always have wind but not like this. To give you some kind of idea, I was watching some guys try to drive into the wind on hole 5 on the Island course. One guy was trying to keep it low and under the wind, his drive went about 75 feet. Another guy let one go a little too high and the wind got under it, it picked it up, brought it back by the tee pad, across number 4 green, which is a sizeable area, turned into a roller when it hit the ground and kept rolling till it hit timber. About 350 feet, backwards. Although we strive to do all we can for the disc golfers, we haven't quite figured out how to harness the wind yet. :)

Jeremy, When it stays nice for about 3 days in a row I'll come up there and swim the pond with you. I have never gotten any discs back that I have thrown in there which is like 10 so you are obviously outmanned by the amount of space you are having to cover in the water.(not a knock on you) Also I have a blue Okie Dubs pulse right in the middle of the tall reeds. I'm pre-reg'd and down for the NT and have a RV hookup reserved. I am looking forward to coming up and playing. I will see you guys then and I am looking forward to meeting the Taylors.
btw: if the designs are anything along the lines of Kevin's other designs, I know I'll enjoy them very much. :)

Tom, The winds here at The Lodge lately have been stronger than usual. We always have wind but not like this. Although we strive to do all we can for the disc golfers, we haven't quite figured out how to harness the wind yet. :)
When you guys figure that one out, I'll be hanging with you all the time!! :D:D

There are a bunch in 15s pond too (only one is mine). Maybe I can help fish them out when I get a chance to come down there.

If anyone is interested I have 2009 USDGC Champ Rocs for sale. I bought quite a few and am keeping just a couple for my wall. No need to go through EBAY, pay $40+ and pay shipping.
I have several for $30-$35 each! Some more rare than others and cost on these was $25 each but I also had to buy a partner's pack for $100 just for the right to purchase them. Thats's the only reason for the slight mark up. These are all sold out and the only place to get them is through a partner or ebay. If you need to see the various stamps and colors, just go to ebay and look around, there are about 80 up there now.
If you're interested, let me know, the sooner you do, the better selection of stamps and colors you will have to choose from. I have all 5 stamps available. None of these are factory seconds, all are bag sealed, numbered and come with a certificate of authenticity and that gets you in for the monthly give aways and a chance for a spot to play in the 2009 USDGC in Rock Hill! No qualifying needed, just get your name drawn.
You can email me at allied@oklahoma.net or call me at 918-232-8562 and if you're from out of state you can call my office at 888-781-1160 toll free.

Dude!!!....It's a $4 retail piece of plastic with a 25 cent foil stamp on it. This is what drives newbies away from PDGA tournaments because the mark-up on a disc like this is three or four times the actual cost. On top of that, you're screwing everyone for an extra $10. I'm going to start calling you "Cyber Hutch".
twoputtok

How do you figure that. I had to pay with my partner's pack $725 for the discs. If I sold all 24 for $30 thats only $720, how do you figure I'm screwing anyone?:( I kept 6 for my self and sold 18, now take your shoes and socks off and see if you can figure how I made ANY money on these.
I din't take them to Ebay to try and get $50 plus for them, I offered them up to the local players that didn't have access to them at just about what they cost me.
You can't even say that! Every TD in town doubles the cost when you pay it out to the Ams.. $8 disc for $16? Who's screwing who here? SOunds like the AMs get screwed at every mini in town.

DUDE, if you could throw a ROC, you would understand
if you want the best in the sport to compete for REAL money at a REAL event you would support the USDGC thru Champ/Star Roc purchases
and these are just like money in the bank collecting interest, those that pay $30 - $50 this year can get $50 - $70 next year
or they can make a difference in the future of the sport and donate 1 or more to the EDGE raffle at Alma Greens this year (or any of Joe's fine EDGE raffles) :)

If this is the best DG has to offer then they should represent it by offering an Inncolor or Supercolor disc instead of just another overpriced hot stamp. I would rather pay $200 for the Steady Ed Memorial set.
And since when are people like Twoputt and Opie considered to be "the best in the sport"? Everyone should have to "qualify" which means no coat tail riding tournament "fluffers" allowed.

You can preach what ever you want but these discs also help provide for a tournamnet that has over a $100,000 in it. Did you hear me...? That's $100,000 for a disc golf tournamnet. Its not like they're giving you a .50 cent piece of plastic with the TD's cartoon pic on it and charging you 20 times the cost at $10 and you're still not sure what you get for it. At least with these, you know immediatly what you get.
It all started here
http://i13.ebayimg.com/01/i/001/3f/fa/8e52_1.JPG
They sold for $25 and now you can't get one for less than $300. And this particular one they are asking $750!
I wouldn't go knocking Evan's Barbie's either.......
http://cgi.ebay.com/BARBIE-968-ROMAN-HOLIDAY-TM-COMPLETE-W-ORIG-COMPACT_W0QQitemZ260403534496QQcmdZViewItemQQptZDo lls?hash=item3ca1429aa0&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=66%3A2%7C65%3A3%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1309%7C 301%3A1%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A50#ebayphotohosting
USDGC ROCS or Baribies, either way they're a better investment than the Tiger Woods 09 you bought or the GTA. And with the Rocs your are helping further the sport. All you help with your video games is some Asian Corporation. At least the Roc money is staying with the disc golfers.
sschumacher
May 08 2009, 11:27 AM
So are you telling me I can take that $750 disc to a pawn shop and get $600 for it?
If someone steals it will my home insurance pay me $750 for it?
Can I go the bank and use it for collateral on a $600 loan?
Can I pay medical bills with it?
All this is speculation based on the general pyramid scheme that there will always be a buyer in the future. I would rather invest in Evis plates.
I'm not knocking the tournament, I'm just knocking the hotstamp. Seems to me if they offered an Inncolor or Supercolor along with the hotstamp they could raise more money but it really doesn't matter because they have become like exclusive concert tickets with select people buying large quantities and then scalping them at a high price on Ebay.
And BTW are you blasting my tournament stamp for CS25? There was a limited number of those made also and you got your's for free. The disc cost me $6.50 + 0.65 cents on the tourney mini and I valued the PP at $10. I don't think $3 is that much to ask for having to babysit you for a weekend. You pay much more than that just to board your dogs when you go out of town. :D
twoputtok
May 08 2009, 11:36 AM
I did recieve an Inncolor. It has a Pic of hole 5, the lake hole with the fountains in the back ground and the title says "David Wise" Official USDGC Partner. They gave me one with my name on it, not a cartoon pic of your sorry arse.:p
I sold all of mine at cost or $5 over for the rare ones. I didn't rake anyone over the coals on them. I sold all of mine to local players at the same cost it would have been, incuding shipping. Sorry buddy but you can't hammer me on this one.
By the way, just so all of your Ams know, please provide the markup you make on each disc that walks off of your anthill....................
By the way, when is YOUR bag tag finals?
And I was't blasting your tournament stamp, I was blasting your bag tag pyramid scheme.
sschumacher
May 08 2009, 12:24 PM
Well since you're currently listed as the current or future TDSA TD at Craptenial you should be able to quote what your mark-up will be at Craptenial unless you plan on going outlaw and pay the Am's cash or with all the plastic you won in your Am days.
I don't have a problem paying Am's cash but I've been told not to. I do cash Champion at $14 instead of $16 as noted on the schedule. If you ever stuck around long enough you might notice that. Are you going to go rogue and disconnect your mini's from the TDSA and keep all the money for yourself?
I've got seven months to plan a bag tag tourney and if you don't think owning one (or two in your case) is worth anything than I'll buy yours back. Whatever I do concerning a bag tag tourney will be more than what the last guy did and I'll offer more value at $10 than previous tags sold for $15.
Since Craptenial appears to be the course for lifestyles of the rich and famous I'll bet there will never be a DG event there consisting of more than 40 or 50 people unless there is an ace pot over $200 or you tear down the alcohal rules and offer free beer and Hooters girls. Knowing you, you'll probably end up hiring your lawn mower man to run mini's for you. :D

I plan on opening a course account and taking all of any profit from discs and putting that money into the account to help pay for upgrades and ameneties for the course. I want to see this course maintined, not just thrown in and forgotten. With it being in Owasso, we do have a higher standard, as you put it.
I already have $400 set aside for the course. And you might as well get off the no Alchohol in the park rule. That is becoming more and more of the standard with cities and their park land. I have played in several tournaments where there are no-alchohol rules for the park. Didn't seem to deter the players, as the tournament was sold out. Plus, unlike your course, there won't be empty cans of Steel Reserve around. Maybe a Heiniken but no Steel Reserve or Nattie light cans laying every where.
I'll run my own minis and I'll run them on time.
Centennial is going in without any Club funds being used and without having to ask the players to pay for it through fundraisers. Wow, that's different, isn't it? :p Nor have I aked for voulteers yet, I will need a few people but not much. Once we are ready for this course to go in, it will take approx 2 days.. DID YOU HEAR THAT? 2 days, not a half basket per day over a month long period.
And when I do decide to hold an event there, the course will be finished first.

May 08 2009, 02:44 PM
Don't come in here with the "holier than thou" attitude. It doesn't work for me and it won't work for you.
So you negotiated a nice deal with the city of Owasso and got them to fund your baskets, cement, signs, and the labor to put it in. I had a Columbian drug cartel willing to finance the new course at Chandler but they insisted on wanting to put a booth at hole one to sell their product and the county didn't want to be a part of that.
The club probably wouldn't have put a new course in at Chandler on it's own because at that time, just like now, the general thinking was to build super courses in swampy area's which unfortunately nowadays seems to be the only land available to us. I believe the club has more of a responsibility to maintain the courses it has while efficiently and responsibly working with the city, county, and it’s members at the same time. Mohawk is great when it's not under water but courses like Chandler and Riverside generate more club funds to allow the club to do more. I believe the club would have supported Owasso if you had asked. You never had a problem asking for money before so I don’t know what your problem is now.
Congrats on your initiative and negotiating a nice deal with the city of Owasso. You and the Treats have a skill at negotiating with city officials. I on the other hand hated having to ask for any club funds from the club due to all the crap I have to hear from you and everybody else about the low skill value of “pitch & putts”. But I can tell you right now that a Chandler DG complex would have paid for Craptenial quicker in the long run than Craptenial would have paid for Chandler.
I think its a little nave of you to think that beer cans won’t end up on Craptenial though. Just because it’s Owasso doesn’t mean there’s no litter bugs or dope smokers there.
BTW....Your goat is over at my house. :D
twoputtok
May 08 2009, 04:05 PM
I can't disagree with you about Riverside and Chandler, those are money generating machines..........for the club and for the TDs and the TDs earn it by having to deal with 40-50 people on any given mini. Owasso will not be any Super course but it will be in line with McClure but with a few more holes with water in play. I'm just happy to have 18 decent holes going in within 2 miles of home. When I feel like slummin or wanting to play some putt putt I may hit up your course.
By the way, you ready for the spring delivery for your yard?

Thanks to everyone who gets in the water and finds these discs...I'm not the only one pulling them out, so I can't take all the credit. I'll be going to Alma Greens this weekend if anyone wants me to bring one of their discs I will. I can't just take all of them with me now cuz they take up too much space!!

LOST: Echostar ROC San Marino Thrower, 172g
i actually lost this a couple months ago, left it at mcclure in a tree, goofing around at night.
Dan bougher said he though he saw a casual player with it. It is pretty recognizable, it is bright green (echo green)
id pay 10 bux or sponsor a 12 pack if I could get this back, if you see someone with it or know who might have it, it was a good disc and i was dumb to lose it.
my name is on the underside (i think in red ink) call 9186957340 if you can access the disc for me or get it back
bravo

OUCH!!!
Please help me out...I just got a new old school pro-line firebird, and left it out on hole 17 at Redhawk!
It appears to be Black but if held up to the light it is actually purple.
I just bought it off Jesse Crew so it still has his name on it and I did not have mine on it.
Anyways...I am willing to offer a very hefty reward for this one.
Shall we start the bidding off with two brand new 11x champ firebirds?
