Gordo, don't fret the loss of the backstage pass. Their live music event starts out with Chris keeping time by clanking his metal mini, then the banjos enter, then the dragons start to foot stompin, then a square dance breaks out with Vinnie on the mike "Swing your partner round and round." The commotion is heard throughtout the property, other teams come by to see what's happening, and then quickly turn away and scatter, unable to comprehend what they just saw. The dragons call it "team building." Everyone else calls it "different." Eventually, Circle C strolls over to perform some village people numbers and the show ends. It's definitely not worth the $5 cover.

As you all know, the schedule for this event is brutal to assemble, in part because the number of teams tends to fluctuate from day to day. But it looks like we're pretty firm now at 23 Established and 12 Merged, so that's what we're working with. Awesome turnout.

Thanks for the tremendous interest and support for this year's event. We're frantically trying to add 18 all-new temp holes to accommodate everyone. The schedule and pools will also depend on whether we can get it all done.

Special thanks to Mitch for doing such a great job coordinating everything. We would have been lost without him. And thanks to Phillip and the grounds crew for getting the courses ready. Thanks to Waterloo for the basket loan, too. And everyone else, including our official staff guy Bert.

That would leave Pool A with ZBoaz (consistant top finisher at teams) with three other teams who have just formed or never made the quarterfinals. Not sure that sounds like a fair draw. I'm assuming to keep things fair from the amount of golf a team plays - if your pool only has four teams you will play 3 matches of 12 holes vs having five teams in your pool playing 4 matches of nine holes, correct?

I'm assuming to keep things fair from the amount of golf a team plays - if your pool only has four teams you will play 3 matches of 12 holes vs having five teams in your pool playing 4 matches of nine holes, correct?

Not criticizing...just observing.



Last year we were able to give the teams in the smaller pool 12-hole rounds. We're not going to be able to do that this year because there are so many teams -- there's just not enough time and room. So If you're in Pool E, you'll have three 9-hole rounds and will be fresher on Sunday. (I know it's not fair to everyone else, but that's the way it is. You can just go easy on them.)

I completely understand (John's response to my question...not Ultimate Fuego's strategy...only they understand :D). I guess some would look at playing more golf from an enjoyment perspective while others feel that playing more wears you down especially if you make it to the quarterfinals. Regardless, I'm looking forward to my favorite disc golf event of the year. I'm a non-playing captain so I'll try to help out you and Mitch however I can. I also just dropped some coin on a new sweet digital camera and I'm planning on documenting the weekends proceedings. Looking forward to it.....and look for TEAM PEASE in the finals!!!!!!!

Seriously it is boring watching you and keith on the wed minis at the vet. Maybe you would be a better putter if you didn't put it so close with those darn thumbers.

Here's the scoop for Saturday morning. As always SCHEDULE IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE.

All teams will meet at 8:00 and have tee times starting at 8:30, except the teams listed below.

Meeting at 9:15, tee at 10:00 for Hill Country, McClain, Round Rock 3, Waterloo 2, and all of Pool G (Crowley 2, Corpus, Round Rock Rolls, Kyle, Weatherford, and San Angelo 2).

Mitch and Phillip worked extra hard today -- looks like the back 18 will be ready. For the record, I laid it out in a day, not my usual 2 weeks, so don't set your expectations too high. Just know that are are a couple holes no one's going to use thumbers on. I think you'll enjoy the course.

The Real Ale Brewing Company in Blanco Texas would like to invite the golfers of Texas Teams to come taste their beer &amp; tour their brewery! :cool:
Friday November 16th they will open the tasting room for us at 12 noon and have set up a special tour that will start at 1:00 pm. That means after tasting &amp; touring, you�ll still have time to get some practice in at Circle R before dark! /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Everyone is welcome, but you have to be 21 for the tasting. :p

WOW!!!!!! What a Fantastic event. Congratulations to Pease Park for the win. It was a good battle. It was the first time that Crowley had sent a team to teams and we made it all the way to the finals. At least one of our DFW teams had to represent.

Waterloo 1 made the big mistake by choosing to play Crowley in the quarterfinals. They thought that they could just run over us. They soon found out they were going home.

McClain thought they had the semi finals wrapped up when they skunked their previous match. They were sadly underestimating Team Crowley. McClain went walking home with their tail between their legs and Crowley advanced to the finals.

Waterloo 1 made the big mistake by choosing to play Crowley in the quarterfinals. They thought that they could just run over us. They soon found out they were going home.

What an absolute blast this weekend!

First of all, thank you to John and Dee for hosting this Texas tradition! I'd love to see if Houston could run an event up there!

I had a blast playing with all the great guys (and gals) this weekend! Friday and Saturday night campfire wandering and visiting is one of the things that makes this event so extraordinary!

Many thanks to the group of folks that came together and fielded the last team that John let in...TC Jester! Every one on the team had a ton of fun and were already making plans for next year!

Many congrats to the Pease Park team!!! It's still my favorite Austin course to play and I try to sneak in a round out there every time I go to A-town! Good job Crowley...what a fantastic way to start out! :D

WOW!!!!!! What a Fantastic event. Congratulations to Pease Park for the win. It was a good battle. It was the first time that Crowley had sent a team to teams and we made it all the way to the finals. At least one of our DFW teams had to represent.

Waterloo 1 made the big mistake by choosing to play Crowley in the quarterfinals. They thought that they could just run over us. They soon found out they were going home.

McClain thought they had the semi finals wrapped up when they skunked their previous match. They were sadly underestimating Team Crowley. McClain went walking home with their tail between their legs and Crowley advanced to the finals.

No we didn't. They won on a tie breaker. And just to let you know our pro1 flaked so we had our Adv 1 playing pro and had to get another Adv player, so I am happy with our 3rd place finish. Z-Boaz beat 189 players this weekend, and only lost to 18. I would say that was a good weekend. 3rd, 1st, 3rd the last three years, don't know anybody else who has a higher average finish than Z-BOAZ. /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
