It rained the entire drive there. It stopped raining so that we could golf. It started raining again during our last 2 holes. I dressed appropriately so my toes were not cold.:D We even found a geocache hidded VERY close to one of the tee pads. It's been there for over 4 years. Please leave the game piece there. Saturday January 12, 2008...Bicentennial Park, Crowley Texas. The week after the PIO in Grapevine.

The charities that we are giving too will be The Crowley House of Hope and The Friends of the Crowley Library, both of which to great things for our community.

You can only sign up through me. The cost will be $25.00 entry fee + $5.00 optional ace pot. We are going to carry over our normal Saturday ace pot which is at $850.00 right now. All divisions will be offered. This is a charity event so, no money or prizes will be paid out. The winner of each division will receive a custom made trophy by yours truly. The first 50 people that sign up will receive a long sleeve t-shirt, a disc and a mini, all with the official Ice Bowl 2008 stamp.
We will only play one round(probably mixed tees). Eat some lunch and then play the 5 for 5. It is a game where I will set up 5 baskets in a X formation and each basket will have its own CTP. It will be $5.00 for 5 throws. You can pay as much as you want. After that we will play flip doubles at $5.00 a man, winner takes all.

No holes have changed since the PIASO. There might be some changes for the next PIASO though. I am thinking about extending some of the holes.

Just wanted to let everyone know that Doug Fritz had his truck broken into yesterday and they stole his disc golf bag along with alot of other things. Please try to be on the look out for some of Doug's discs. Each one had his name,date and phone # on them.

He was on hole #20 on left side of a tree next to the creek at the bottom of the small hill. Hit's the put hitting only one chain and falling in on the backside :o:D. About a 40' put that played more like 50' - 60'. I thought we were doomed when I saw that :confused:. Tough put with awkward stance.

I am going to officially cancel the Tuesday night minis for a while. There is no point in me going out there every week when the same 3 or 4 guys show up to play. The minis will be back on schedule when it gets a little warmer and a little lighter outside.

I ordered 10 more sleeves this weekend anmd will hopefully have them within the next coulpe of weeks. We will soon have alternate pin positions for holes 1, 3, 4, 7, 8, 9, 11, 12, 15, 16, 20.

The white tee pads on 5 and 9 have been slightly moved. The Blue tee pad on 9 has been moved as well. These were moved in order to play both pin positions on the hole 9. Hole 10 will soon have 3 different tee pads. Blue will be moved to the bottom of the hill. White will stay where it is. Red will be moved back about 80-100 ft.

Hole 3 will be the next concrete tee pad that is going in.

Yesterday, Ron Friday and myself put dirt and mulch around the tee pad on 13 to make it look complete. Doug Fritz and Britt Browning came out to help as well. We picked up 6 full bags of trash around the course. We also looked at the new holes that are going to be crerated in the back of the course.

Britt and myself cleared out more on one of the new holes in the back today. There is still alot that neds to be done. Mainly we just need people to haul off dead wood and cut branches. A few more hours with the chainsaw and the hole should be done. (cutting that is).

Well that depends on how big of an arm you got. I personally think that all but 3 or 4 holes are aceable.

Just to make this clear......Our ace pot has gotten sooooo big because we have played the long tees in most of the minis. Occasionally, we will play the white tees or a mixture of the two. This depends on how many people show up to play out minis. Wind is also a factor in the decison making. Last week I moved 3 baskets to their short pin positions to make it a little easier.

I believe that if you are going to hit a high dollar ace, then it should be a GREAT shot, that gets rewarded.

We will start the Tuesday night minis again on March 11. We should have more daylight after the time changes. On Tuesday nights, we play all BLUE tees. These are the shortest tees. Every hole is ACEABLE from these tees.

So how many ace runs are there from the reds?

With a $1400 ace, i would HOPE that more than 10 people would show, which means the longs would be played. You would be able to reach 2-4 of those holes.

i say we take 50$ a week from the saturday ace and add it to the tuesday ace :D

You are giving me too much credit John. If I remember it right, that course only has 1 or 2 baskets that are reachable by the GrandMaster field and that is only if we take all of our meds right before the round! :D

WTG LOCKWOOD!!! I'm assuming you played a few white pads if it went down on #3. It was my boy's birthday party today at lunch or i would have donated a few more dollars to that ace pot. Too bad there's no backup or reserve. It's going be awhile before it gets that large again.

It is that time!!!! We are just about 30 days away from a fun tournament with many added extras. Last year we had lots of added cash and prizes. Just ask any of the 95 players that were there!!!

2008 we are adding at least $1,500 cash to the Pro Division and over $1,000 in merchandise to the Am Divisions. Where else can you play with so much added for so little????? The Entry for every player regardless of Division is just $25.00. That's right $25 entry for everyone!! Every player gets a tournament stamped disc, is entered in the CTP's and Ace Pot. Don't be confused by the Divisions being by rating, it is no different than divisions by name. The only difference is we will not have age or gender separation, everyone will play by ability. The Divisions are as follows:

Above 970 (Pro) = $25 entry $1,500 in cash Added
935 - 969 (Adv) = $25 entry $500 in merchandise Added
900 - 934 (Int) = $25 entry $250 in merchandise Added
850 - 899 (Rec) = $25 entry $150 in merchandise Added
Below 850 (Nov) = $25 entry $100 in merchandise Added

Everyone is invited to play in any Division that is above your current PDGA rating. Every player also has the option to pay an additional fee as a side bet that stays in your respective division. Side bets will be paid in cash and side bets are not recognized by the PDGA as accepting a cash prize for playing while an Amateur!

I want challenge the clubs of Texas. Texas Women�s Championships is April 26 &amp; 27 and we want to present the opportunity to highlight your club during the TWC. We started the girly station experience and we want the clubs of Texas to improve on that idea.
Last year was a very successful experience for the ladies and the girly station was a big part of that. Consider representing your club by having the best girly station. We have designated areas to best serve the ladies. Contact Ed Coffey or me and we will ensure a place in the action.
And of course we will accept any form of sponsorship. So if you cannot be involved in a girly station, then make sure to support the event with sponsorship, escorts or my favorite CASH. Hole 17 basket will be missing for a little while. The major storms that Crowley had last week caused the creek to look like the Nile river. 17's basket was washed right out of the ground. We found the basket about 1/4 mile down the creek stuck in some trees. Once I have some more sleeves, then I can put it back in the ground.

There have been cases of Ebay and Craigs list attempted sales of stolen baskets. Do NOT, I repeat DO NOT, report the fact that its stolen to Ebay or the list. They will just end the auction. Get his address and send the police instead.

Unlike many others I know , I have a good job and do not require supplemental income.

FYI : When I handed everything over to Michael Brownlow,
FFC assets were in the ballpark of $3500.00 including cash,
proposed value of remaining bag tags , and club plastic.
So, for lack of a better word SUCK IT ! ;)

Talking about folks is a human fact. Everyone has done it to a degree. All parties involved in this bloodletting have contributed to the successes of the club. I do feel however that discussions of money mismanagement should be done in private and face to face. If it is beyond that then this is something that should be done in quasi private with the offending parties and the leadership of the club. If there is still a problem then it should be brought up at a meeting of the club. I do not advocate a full on dog pile unless it is warranted.

Talking about folks is a human fact. Everyone has done it to a degree. All parties involved in this bloodletting have contributed to the successes of the club. I do feel however that discussions of money mismanagement should be done in private and face to face. If it is beyond that then this is something that should be done in quasi private with the offending parties and the leadership of the club. If there is still a problem then it should be brought up at a meeting of the club. I do not advocate a full on dog pile unless it is warranted.

Well we got alot of work done today at the course. Holes 11 and 12 are mowed. Cleared out some good sized trees on hole 8. One of the new holes in the back is about 75% finished. More to come soon!!!!!!

any snake sightings by hole eight??? watch for the pet Boa, it's about five to six feet long, a very pretty snake and when I saw it, it was in the brush piles right and deep on the basket, outside the clearing, and I might add it's a very good tree climber too

Well it looks like we are going to put in two more tee pads this weekend. As long as the weather permits us to. We will put in holes 5,14.

I have just received the hole number decals for each basket. I will put them on the baskets soon. This way all the baskets will be numbered correctly.
