Since this event is going to be capped, you all need to register as soon as you can. You can register online at txokdg.com or you can get a registration form from Terry Adams at Play It Again Sports on Hulen, Tom Lowry, or myself. This is going to be an event that you won't want to miss.

Sometimes you just have to use trial and error to achieve the result you are looking for. I have changed the course around alot beacuse TXU came through and ruined 4 of our holes, then trees that played major factors in certain holes began to fall over dead. I also moved some holes out of the wide open front area to keep us away from the kids playing soccer and baseball. I believe the way the course is designed now is how it will stay, until we add 7 more holes back in the woods.
Lets face it, there were some changes that needed to be made to the course and thats what I did. I have discussed these changes with several people along the way, so it is not just me. When we are done with this course, it WILL BE THE BEST COURSE IN THE METROPLEX.

Chris,

While the Vet and Z Boaz are 2 great courses Crowley has always been one to challenge golfers from the long tees. With the changes made and the 7 holes coming, Crowley will be the number 1 course in the DFW area.

Things to consider

1. 3 sets of tees for each hole. Each tee plays different from the other with Blue being perfect for the beginner, White being great for the intermediate and Red being a Real challenge for any seasoned pro. All 3 sets will have concrete tee pads.
2. 2 pin placements for each hole.
3. Amenities to the course you don't know are coming. (I am not going to spoil the surprise Brice)

All I am saying Chris is that after the dust has settled and all the work at Crowley is complete, (sometime this winter) Crowley will not be the course you have played in the past. Change is good when you are in Crowley now. But next year changes will be complete, then come play and then determine what you think about Crowley. I believe you will see what I know now.

Now back to the thread.

This Tournament is looking better everyday. Please pre-register. We can only fit 120 players on the course for this tournament(24 holes x 5 = 120). We have already ADDED $1,500.00 to the Pro purse. Contact me or Brice if you want a spot reserved.

Remember at Pauls Valley, I urged everyone to pre-register since we had the capacity of 90. I put an extra card in to bring that number to 95 and still had to turn away close to 20 people who thought they could just show up Saturday morning to register. There is nothing I dislike more about being a TD than turning players away, I want everyone to play, so please sign up now.

You will be glad you did, there is a sweeeet players package and lots of added cash and prizes and food for everyone.

Register online HERE (http://www.txokdg.com)

As it stands right now, if we have 20 open players at this event the winner will take home at least $700. I am pretty sure that when it is all said and done the winner should take home at least $1000.00. Thats big money for a first time B-Tier event in the great city of CROWLEY.

All you open players need to hurry up and sign up for this event.

Jul 15 2007, 06:05 PM
For all you skeptics out there, Brice has turned this course around . The flow of the course is the best it has
ever been. I would not anticipate many back ups for this event. The new holes are fun, and challenging . Brice, bringing back those 2 old ( new ) holes 15 and 16 I think, very glad to play those holes today . With some trimming and mowing, and of course some tee pads , this could become the best course West of 360.........

Glad to have the course back in good condition, was nice not to play in the slop today....

im not boomer but I have played the course and I wouldnt say that its cart friendly;you have to cross a creek 3 or 4 times. Its possible but would probably be rough.

Jul 18 2007, 12:58 PM
Recent updates to the course have improved creek crossings. Still, there are significant elevation changes that could create cart challenges.

As it stands right now, if we had NO Additional Open players sign up to play, 1st place would take home over $800.00!!! That is with only 8 players signed up for Open!!

Every Am Player WILL receive a Players Package valued at over $20.00.

This Tournament is only getting better.....reserve you spot early!!!! We only have 24 holes and 24 x 5 = 120 players and 120 players is our cap. :(

Don't be sorry later that you didn't reserve your spot. We are expecting a Full Field!!!!

We believe that the Winner of the Open Division will take home over $1000.00. Along with a lot more.

Don't forget my putting for dollars Ring of Fire!!! I'm adding a little different twist to this one that everyone will enjoy and everyone will be a winner!! ;)

It takes 125.00 to sponsor a teepad and that will include a engraved marble slab with your name and hole number on it. So far only one tee pad has been done, but the last time I talked to Brice he said he has the money for 5 more holes from sponsors.

Hi Skip, It read right, we are adding $1,500 to Open and possible more. There will be some added to the other pro divisions, but a minimum or $1,500 is going to Open.

Read about the Fling and I am glad everything went so well. Wish I could have been there, but maybe I can be there for the VPO this year since I am now back to 100%.

Shabookie....if you want to play for the money, then sign up in the open division. Otherwise you are going to get merchandise. How many discs do you really need?????

I understand that without a good am turnout, the tournament will not be successful. There will be some really good CTP's and the ring of fire prizes will be great as well.

Brice is all the added $$ going to open only or will added $$ be inthe masters division as well? thanks

Why don't yall just play open?
play masters with 5-10 people or play open with 30+ people and $1500.00 added.

i know you are way better than i am. i think i like playing in a more competetive field.
think of it this way... if i stock pile the plastic then go pro i don't have to keep purchasing plastic when they wear-out/ come up missing.

not so great

i like to think of myself as "professionally-challenged"
by no means an am donator. i'm one of the "bagging" am players.(due to the fact that i would suck as a pro) /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

With all the money going to the pro's what will be in it for the am's?

Let's start by saying, at a B tier PDGA says give the Ams a Players Pack worth at least $10, so our Players Pack is worth at least $25. We will have many extras that add value to the Am part of the event. If you had been to a tournament that I TDed in the past, I think you would have the answer to your question. So if you think you won't get your moneys worth, do not hesitate to ask for a refund now and let someone else have your slot. :D

Here is a calling out of Robert Sotta. Has a 978 player rating and signed up for Advanced. :oCome on now , is this a mistake? Just thought a player with that rating should be in Open. :DWhat's the Skinny? :D

WOW!!!! The sponsorships keep coming!!! We are over $2,000 added to the Pro Open Division :) Check out the Pre-Reg List HERE!! (http://www.pdga.com/tournament/tournament_results.php?TournID=6590)

Just a little over 2 weeks out and we are at 76 players. We already have a very strong Pro field...This is going to be fun!!

Just thought I would add that the Final 9 to be played by the top 5 Open Pro Players will have more meaning than just who will win that top slot....It will also be a skins match paying $25 per skin with the 9th hole worth $50!!

That is an extra $250 to be paid out to the Top 5 Pros!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

Get your spot reserved now because the field is filling fast.

Oh and Ams, don't think we forgot about you, as I said before, you each get a $25 Players Package and we have some great CTP's and Ring of Fires. Your payouts will be better than 100% also, so don't feel neglected :( We've got you covered too!! :D

Register On-Line at Texas Oklahoma Disc Golf (http://www.txokdg.com) and we have some great tournament plastic there too!!
