I played two rounds on the new course on Saturday. It's the best course I've played in the Washington DC metro area. Very tight wooded holes, the open ones are surrounded by disc eating trees and the elevation goes up and down and up and down on almost every hole.

It's the most physically and mentally challenging courses I've ever played and I'm looking forward to seeing all the top golfers hit it.

2meter rule will be myopically applied, special course rule for Sharky - 1meter will do nicely. It's not our fault others feel bad shots should be rewarded, we do not.
But as most of you fans know already - I'm not a nice man :) And it's one of my greatest joys in life to make each of you suffer terribly when out playing golf (rumor has it DG'ers all like it that way anyway). So in addition to the 2m rule being 4ever in effect at Seneca, when we get around to adding all the long tees and pins - count on some of the most grueling golf of your life :)

When I played there one afternoon a couple years ago, I thought it was the most beautiful course I've seen. While I won't be playing, I look forward to at least seeing the course again. The pictures are awesome. My husband is definitely looking forward to playing the course and this event.

Looks like we will be renting a car and looking for a place to park it in DC since we are forced to stay at the Hyatt Capitol Hill through Sat afternoon, wish us luck . . . (not to mention the luck Don's going to need with all those trees . . . the beauty comes with a cost -- high scores )

From the weather professionals at Weather Forecast Office - Sterling, VA:

Saturday: Partly cloudy, with a high near 69.

Saturday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 48.

Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 72.

The weather, and the weekend, are going to be great. For a course that's only 2 weeks old, it's in great shape. There has been lots of briar removal. People are working on it every day in anticipation of this weekend.

If we rescinded the 2-meter rule, people would no longer be scared of throwing into the cedars. Any cedar near a basket would become a target to aim at. There would be more discs going into cedars and more disc retrieval actions. Disc retrieval is what damages the cedars. People will climb 20 feet up a cedar to retrieve a 10-year old DX Roc that has a street value of $2.

I think Craig and JG did a great job with the design and the Cedar Farm volunteers came out in droves to help. I am so in love with my new home course. I hope you like it as much as we do!

An update from our friends at the National Weather Service Sterling VA office:

Saturday: Partly cloudy, with a high near 66. West wind between 6 and 11 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.

Saturday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 48. West wind between 3 and 8 mph.

Sunday: Partly cloudy, with a high near 72. Light wind becoming west between 11 and 14 mph. Winds could gust as high as 25 mph.

It's a crappy, rainy day today, pretty much ensuring great weekend weather. Great weather for a great weekend coming up! Craig cut the grass the other day and 4 benches were moved and re-installed this week.

Today's wet weather could make for some muddy tee pads on Saturday morning. You should still bring your cleats/spikes.

brinster at 8 under...

moser, schebby, nick s. all 7 under....

very fun day, great weather.

Ratings will get squared away when the course information is properly entered in the tournament admin section. I'm having some difficulty in getting the report to take the info the right way. Be careful with this guy:

Does anyone know who discmanbob51 is on ebay? Seems like he bids up his own auctions so other people have to bid higher.

If you look at his bidder on this auction: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...p;rd=1&rd=1 (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=002&sspagename=STRK%3AME BI%3AIT&viewitem=&item=120084600218&rd=1&rd=1)
It shows that bidder's only feedback is discmanbob. My friend bid on that bag, and that kirby person keeps bidding it up. Now the seller, "unlce bob", emailed my friend who bid on it and said they couldn't afford the auction........The note he emailed to my friend was this: i see we are bidding on the same golf bag. I have had a little set back and i usually don't do this but my bid of 46 is as high as i can go
good luck
Uncle Bob

Well Uncle Bob is the seller! Now my friend emailed him back and he claims the bidder is his cousin and his cousin can't afford it now. Sounds like a big scammer!
