From what I've been told, there a few "gummy star" that I think are the ones with the little roc stamp. There's also a true ontario mold up there, but I've got no idea which stamp it is.

I'm liking the Little Wing and The Cannon. Looks like 3000 total, way cool. Each numbered with halogram matching stickers disc / certificate. Placing my order in the AM.

So do they call the player partners or send out an email? I'm new to the whole process this year and am just wondering.

I have been a partner since the beginning when they offered the partner package and they have always called the partners to take their order.

If you are a partner you might want to be prepared for when they call you. It seems they generally try to call in the order in which your order was received for the partner pack so those that purchase early get first pick.

Generally speaking the collector guide is not released until the general release as well. So partners may not know what is "rare" when purchasing.

I have heard rumors that the limit this year is 30 discs. Perhaps this is an effort to make sure that there are some discs left over for the general release but with only 3000 discs that would mean there would have to be less than 100 partners or some partners would have to not purchase their limit.

Now it is just time to wait by the phone for my call...

I was told about a month ago that the limit was still 50, may have changed with the low numbers made. They raised the partner package from $50 to $100 for the 2008 run.

Looked to me that the USDGC '07 Roc is the glow Roc.

I've got email and message in at ZD, hope I'm not in a meeting when he calls. I'll be stepping out for that call.

If the top two stamps are the only champion plastic stamps, then i'm only going to be ordering x-outs this year. Little wing, Poppa Roc, Twin Roc are pretty freaking awesome. USDGC 07 and The Cannon are okay too. Classic roc = Champion Ontario mold? lame!

You don't need to be a partner, just be friends with one. I hooked a buddy up with a Roc when I got my call.

There is always the X-outs. Honestly, those are the ones to throw. They were under $20 last year. A X-out from a couple years ago is one of my bag Rocs.

There are "CE" Rocs still left over from last year in special blend, candy and star plastic at zonedriven right now. They are $25 and are not X-outs, just check the 2006 section, you don't even have to be a partner

I have CE Rocs from 2006, 05, 04, 03 and 02. I was speaking of the rumors that this year's run could be bought by the partners, severely limiting the ability of non-partners to purchase the discs.

This may or may not happen, but if it did, I think it would be an unfortunate situation. It's great that Innova is making smaller quantities, considering there were many left over from last year.

I don't like seeing these discs going to a select group who sees and/or can afford the additional $50 to get the first selection, i.e., the primo Rocs that will be appearing on eBay in the next week or so.

But if that's the deal, that's the deal. I can speak with my pocketbook and opt out this year and the next if that's the way the sales are going to be conducted. I have enough Rocs, CE etc., to last the rest of my disc golf career! :DrWc3523 :cool:

Yep. And now that they've raised the package price to $100 for 2007, I've been priced out of that as well.

I feel your pain guys. I wanted the black star rocs last year but had to pay higher prices later. That's why I did the USDGC partner deal this year. And... I got the black rocs I wanted this year. I figure the money goes to a good cause and you get to reap the benefit of getting rocs first. Don't be afraid to post looking for a USDGC partner to buy a few rocs for you. There are plenty of them who don't buy the max amount of rocs and would be happy to get some for someone else. I did that for someone this year and it worked great. The person even compensated me for it even though I said I would do it for free since I was ordering anyway. Good Karma!

Agreed.

The emphasis should be on supporting the premier tournament in the sport. It is certain that the USDGC moves competitive disc golf ahead in many ways: professionalism, rigor of competition, publicity, the huge contribution to the EDGE program, among them. It is our most striking example of an added cash tourney, where the payout isn't made up of players playing for their own fees. That's what the Rocs buy. Getting first crack at the Rocs are a benefit of partnership, an added incentive. I'm all behind ZD controlling the supply accordingly.

If you want the Rocs badly enough, and the partnership price seems daunting, be creative. As Anita rightly noted, and ZD even encourages, "get to know a partner."

I ordered a Twin Roc stamp, milk with dark blue foil, and a Classic stamp, silver with chrome foil. I think they're both Champion plastic.

Does anybody know which stamps are Champion plastic and which are Star? I want to get a couple of Champion plastic Rocs this year, but the only stamp that definitely looks like Champion from the pictures is the IMHO lame I-888 stamp.

The "Twin Rocs" looks like Star plastic from the picture.

The "USDGC 07" stamp looks like it could be Champion, but it's hard to tell.

Does anybody know for sure? I'm looking for an answer, not just message board conjecture. :) Too bad ZoneDriven wasn't able to put out a guide like last year's. That thing was killer.

There is a guide. I would imagine it will be published once things settle down. I deleted the link after ordering and ordered early on the first day so I have no recolections of specifics. Many of the stamp had options of Champion or Starr Plastic.

again...not asking your friend who not only has the plastics answer, BUT also the quantities of each color with each different foil stamp for each model made along with the website link.... which was obtained when i purchased my discs from my partners pack....while killing a few catagories of limited quantity discs :D

I don't think it's a good idea to post Zeb's number to ask him anything at this point. It will only slow the process down to give non-partners a phone number to inquire about these Rocs. The guys at Innova East are busy enough as it is. Plus, Zeb is not the person who is in charge of the USDGC Rocs anyway. So don't call him.

Interesting, as a long-time CE Roc lover and collector, this is the year they've lost me. The process and sheer number of available discs have put me off. Just don't have the desire to try and keep up the fight and collect one of each.

Partners orders are supposed to ship this week. I haven't received notice of a shipment yet.

If it's like the last few years they might ship out your order without you ever getting shipping information. One year I got my rocs and then a few days later got my shipping info. I think they are more concerned with getting them shipped than anything else.. which is fine with me.

I just received my shipping notice, should arrive on the 11th.

The partner shipments are proceeding. The partners farthest away from South Carolina are being shipped first. In the interest of fairness, we are trying to stagger these shipments so that none arrive ahead of the release date next Tuesday, April 10th.

As with prior years, some of the ship notifications will be eaten by spam filters. Others may not be recognized by their recipients. Please keep in mind that the ship notification may come from UPS, Zonedriven or Innova Disc Golf.

ZD is going Wonka. Some lucky person will receive the Golden Cannon disc, with 9 cannons stamped on it. Person that gets that disc gets free entry and hotal stay at this years event. Almost makes me want to join the madness tomorrow.

USDGC Rocs will not be released at 2:00pm (Eastern) today in the ZoneDriven Pro Shop. Instead, the website will experience a scheduled meltdown. However, had you been able to view the ZoneDriven inventory, 2007 Rocs would have been located in the 2007 USDGC category. Both collector run discs and factory seconds would have been available.

Depends on how many connections are allowed simultaneously. They have the bandwidth for all of the users, but all of their pages connect multiple times to a database, maybe several databases. With multiple database connections coming in at the same time from one user multiplied by the number of users, it really doesn't take that much.

I wonder what the alternatives are... Roc lottery? where everyone who has a ZD account can select ahead of time that they want to buy rocs this year. a lottery randomly selects time brackets during the day in which they can order rocs from the website. Ex: if you get lottery # 120 maybe that puts you in the 3-4pm bracket and you can only order on April 10th during this time period. Emails are sent out ahead of time so you can schedule a time during the day in which you can log on and purchase. lol, i dunno, just an idea

Unfortunately, the Twin Rocs (best stamp) only come in Star plastic :(

I'm very bummed that all the Champion collector Rocs were gone before the website opened and crashed for business today. :(

Supposedly there were Champion version of every stamp made. I got to look at the collector guide that used to be available but was then pulled from the ZD website.

Ours came in this morning. 27 total. From what i heard they look so much better in person than the pictures look online. We were lucky enough to get some of the candy apple green 888 Champs as well. Looking forward to picking them up.

Are there only factory seconds left? if so thats NUTS!!!

The Cannon and Poppa Roc were Star only, from the list I have. Both Star & Champion on all of the others.

Correct. Only Silver and white on the Papa and Black and Gold on the Cannon Star plastic only.

I got my Rocs today, and they really are sweet. I got a Classic Star Rancho, silver with a chrome stamp that is amazing looking. Also a Twin stamp Champion, milk with a dark blue metallic stamp. Definitely better looking in person than the website. I will post pictures if I get the chance.

Also ordered a factory second Star today for throwing, along with a couple Zonedriven DX ontarios. Sweeettt.

I was going to try and buy one just to help support the USDGC even though I don't throw Rocs, but I guess they didn't need my help :D. Oh well I guess now I can get a buzz from another big tourney like the MSDGC or Players Cup at least I throw those. :D

It is the only Ontario with the 888 stamp. Candy apple green with a blue metalic stamp. 34 total made in this configuration. The little wing should be your best one as there was only 140 made total.

I think you are right.

For those who wanted some Champion Rocs at an "affordable" price, now is the time to pick up some Factory Seconds. Those who are only looking for throwers and not part of the collecting mania should grab a few at $18.99/each. That's still a couple of dollars more than a Z-Wasp or Z-Buzz or comparable Innova plastic for other disc models but it's a good way to get discs you wanna throw. They are still avalible on the Zonedriven site (although the "collectible" discs look to be long gone).

Were there any Ontarios left over yesterday, even as Seconds? I did not see any and was really hoping to end up with one. I'd be willing to consider trades of the Rocs I get but I'll wait until I see what actually comes.

I finally dipped a toe into this shark tank of USDGC rocs.
I ordered a few F/S for throwing, and a couple of the ZD DX ontarios.

So what is the consensus? Do most of these USDGC rocs get purchased for collecting or for throwing?

My growing disc collection, and the phenomenon of the USDGC rocs selling out the day of release for the purpose of sitting in boxes makes me sad that most of these discs will never get to fly. :(

I can't wait to huck some SB and Champ rocs!

The few '01, '02, and '03 Rocs I have will not get thrown. I didn't care for the Champion Roc's so my '04's will not get thrown. I do throw my '05 SB and a F/S Star '06. I will not be throwing any of this years Collectors Roc's, that's why I ordered F/S.

One of the 180 Black cannon's just sold for $124.50. I dont see them going any higher anytime soon.

LOL i did the same thing! I also agree that it's sad that all these discs will sit in the dark in boxes for years. I only ordered 4 F/S so they can fly!

As for the cannon roc that sold for $100+ that bs always seems to cap off a new disc release. As rocs start coming out of hiding there will be more supply and less people freaking out to collect. I admit I have my own collection of plastic i'll never throw but sometimes it sinks in.. hundreds of dollars for plastic discs?!

Something I just noticed. If you have a box of ROCs and are keeping them together with the cardboard folded over, make sure to put a piece of tape over the staple.

I've got several bags that are torn where the staple rubbed against the bag beside it. I don't think any of the discs were damaged, but I can't really tell without taking them out of the bags.

What an overrated disc...yikes. This is insane.

A CE-ROC is not a disc, it's an investent in a tournament.
So few of these get thrown that it can't be looked at as a disc purchase.
It's a $25 donation with a fancy receipt that can be resold for a profit.

I like throwing them. Since they are good plastic, they hold their flight characteristics longer. Also, when they get beat they are straight and true. I know I could get just about the same flights from a wasp/buzz/element etc but I also enjoy supporting the USDGC and throwing Rocs. Rocs fly great for me and I don't think a Roc can be overrated. They CAN be overpriced but that's a collectability thing rather than a flight thing. They will only be "overpriced" as long as people are willing to keep buying them. I also thorw CE Firebirds and have several Mint ones lined up ready to replace the one I have in the bag. It makes no sense to throw them when I could sell 'em on eBay but it's kinda fun.

Discs are meant to fly and I do throw the collectable ones too. I also hold onto a few in case someone wants to buy them for a lot more than I did and pay for some travels or tournaments one day in the future.

Yeah, it's not a Classic Roc mold. Just the Classic Roc stamp modified for the USDGC. Cool stamp, but one of the regular Ontario or Rancho molds.

It's actually known as the "Wings & Rings" stamp. Very nice to have on a nice white San Marino! :DIt was also my favorite for this year and I finally scored one! Thanks for the great stamp Innova. Thank you Bill, for the hookup! :D

I think you're right. especially the Ontario mold F/S. I started throwing a new DX Ontario Roc I ordered and I am impressed how neutrally it is flying (or true stable). Even as it begins to decelerate it still holds the same line - hyzer, straight and anhyzer wow! now i see what i've been missing only throwing meat hook Ranchos!

It seems like they waited for all of the regular run plus all of the factory seconds to get sold before they even started shipping. They had a note on the site saying they wouldn't even start shipping until 4/16, a whole week after the general release.

I had my order of 2 F/S delivered to work, so I have them in hand. So, my question is, do the Ontarios say Ontario on the bottom? I'm assuming they do and that I don't have one. :(

I ordered on the 10th. I got my notice when others did, only took 1 day to get to my area from ZD, and one day to deliver.

Rancho molds are marked Rancho and Ontario molds are marked Ontario. Star plastic all have a star on the bottom. The rest are champion.

I got one order today! Three Collectors and three F/S discs. There is one very sweet F/S deep purple champion with two 888 stamps! It is an awesome color and the stamps are nicely laid out opposite each other. The rest are cool too.

My other order had a slight problem being oversold. Talked to Mr. Poole today and I'm sure what I'll be getting will work out just fine. Overall, a pretty good Roc sale and I think they've done a lot for the collectibility of them this year too. Nice job guys!
