I got my email confirm today. It states its on time and should be delivered tomorrow! Great way to start a weekend! (More so when I get that 9 stamp Cannon Roc!)

Only in your wildest dreams. :D:D:Dscott. Then you can go to the usdgc as a player and not a spectator. See you at pillage the village.

Darn! I didnt get that 9 stamp cannon! Oh well, guess I'll have to qualify for USDGC on the Monday before the tournament.

Sorry Dave, I wont be at Pillage, matter of fact heading past your place and going to the north side for a Cubs game that weekend. Of course that means the field will be wide open for you to win! By the way, you know come June update you'll be the highest rated in the state! Good job man!

There's a handful of new, still in the plastic Rocs available here (http://www.mainediscgolf.com/store). I'm not a collector or even into the whole Roc thing, but I'm told these are going for a lot higher on Ebay. There are a few more to be added, including a "Gummy", when I get a chance to do it later today.

Enjoy, Roc-nuts.

I admit I don't know a hell of a lot about these Rocs (or really care for that matter), I just run the website. The boss sets the price.

But allow me to point out this Ebay auction (http://cgi.ebay.com/USDGC-07-ONTARIO-LITTLE-WING-180-GRAM-DISC-GOLF_W0QQitemZ330112954360QQihZ014QQcategoryZ79804 QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem) in which the bidding has already reached $250 with 4 days still remaining. We have the same purple 180 gram "Little Wing" Roc on our site for $250. Our Roc isn't going to get bid up any further, whereas the Ebay Roc just might. So what the hell, we put it up there...maybe the consolation prize in that auction will be our Roc.

As for the rest...if they sell, they sell. If not, oh well, they'll remain in the boss's collection. I don't think he's too bothered one way or the other.

I have to ask, has anyone thrown a champ Ontario yet? I actually wanted an Ontario F/S as a thrower , but missed out, and the ePay insanity has me doubting that more than a handful will even be thrown. If you are that crazy person that laughs at the possible financial loss of throwing a ridiculously overvalued disc, how does a champ Ontario fly?

Wouldn't you know it, I'd get stuck this year without the Poppa Roc and Classic Roc stamp discs I ordered over two weeks ago. I just got the e-mail this morning with the bad news. That's rotten! Zonedriven HAS TO DO SOMETHING WITH THEIR ORDERING SYSTEM TO PREVENT THIS FROM HAPPENING AGAIN! The system was tough enough to try and get the order in the first place, over an hour at the computer, with a high speed connection, then to wait over two weeks in anticipation as you read of other folks getting their orders and then this! At least they could have broke the news to me last week! Neal was cool about the whole matter and it's not his fault his workplace hasn't fixed a known problem in their system for at least three (3) years running:eek:

So I get some double stamped discs instead of being able to have a complete set. And the "Wings & Rings" and "Big Bird" stamps were the ones I really wanted!, Coolest stamps anyway :D

Thats a good question,The purple Ontarios just 50 not many and the gummys 90 compaired to 1555 of the 01. From what I have heard the collectors are buying all they can so you will not see many on Ebay in a few weeks. The one on Ebay now is over $500 and they only made 14 of them. What will they bring in 2 to 3 years????

So on the collector side of things, does the value go down on these if they are removed from the plastic? They just don't look as nice on display in there!

twoputtok
May 02 2007, 12:33 PM
I would think that if you carefully remove the staples and keep the bag in mint condition along with the disc that it would be okay. At least that is what I have done. ;)

ninafofitre
May 02 2007, 12:37 PM
I would have to say they shouldn't as long as the certification card is intact if you ever try to resell them.

They do look much better on a wall. I had my collection on the wall and it looked great....I pulled one of my Battle ROCS out of the bag so that it could be on the wall.

As with any fine wine or plastic these beauties are only going to go up in value as they age in their plastic.

If you think of it when you are holding a disc in your hands that only 25 people or less have in the entire world it must be a pretty cool feeling. Then when you get down to the 10 or less combinations it is truly a prized item in my eyes. Only wish I had the big bucks to pick some up.

They should just make 3000 rocs with unique combinations so each roc is 1/1 get it now super rare! In addition to varying disc color, material type, mold, weight, stamp and stamp color Innova could make discs with different densities, packaging or impregnated odors like bowling balls did a couple years ago.

"BUY IT NOW $100 ONLY ONE EXISTS. I have in my hands the only lime ice pearl champion ontario 177 gram starburst silver poppa classic stamp strawberry daquiry scented 2008 CE Roc mint with specific gravity 1.65 in paper bag with neon pink staples on cardboard bag label in existence!"

Making every disc special is kind of like making none of them special. (Incredibles anyone?)

Been watching the Ebay action and noticed that the Butter 888 were getting a lot more than I thought they would be considering that 50 were made in that combination.

Just seems wierd watching a smaller run disc go for a good deal less than a run of 50.

Also, I will have to say that a couple of the F/S that have gone recently were imo cooler stamps than some of the numbered discs, especially the Purple Ice funky Twin disc.

Anyone care to discuss??

I ended up getting all f/s's because I was being cheap and I thought I was buying them to throw. Trouble is that all of the double stamps I got ended up looking just as good or better even than the "collectibles". I think they're collectible themselves.

I got a really nice champion factory second with the cannon and 888 stamps. The plastic is purple with goldish hints of glitter or something in it.

I also got a double stamped twin roc that was almost symmetrically stamped 180 degrees. It made for a pretty cool design!

I agree that a lot of the factory seconds had the uniqueness to make them collectible in themselves.

I only grabbed a couple of the "collector" rocs this year. Most of them are heavy weights but one star twin roc is 160 grams. I was just curious what kind of weights you all were seeing and wondering if this year weight essentially means nothing for collectibility as the weights were not recorded officially and most if not all are intended for collecting instead of throwing. any ideas?
