Hey Rocky,
On 11 all you gotta do is flick a putter (preferrably a Crystal Challenger) through the trees and it will hit the grass and slide to the pin. No headaches, No worries.

bgwvdave
Jan 31 2007, 04:39 PM
exactly. so schweeb let me know the skinny. to jump putt 11 do i have to stand back on the TTee so that when i jump (disc already out of my hand before leaving ground of course) i land still on the tee or can i stand at the front fo the box putt and land off the pad? it worked perfectly for the fall classic and is well within my range.

bschweberger
Jan 31 2007, 05:12 PM
You can land off the TTee as long as you release the disc b4 leaving the TTee

26408
Jan 31 2007, 06:06 PM

I got stranded on the way back home from Raleigh Sunday night. I was sick Sunday and was sick after the tournament. I stopped to be sick and fuel up and mistakenly filled the disel truck up with 30 gallons of gasoline. Got towed to a shop on Capital Blvd at 6:00pm left the shop after 2:30am to go home and the truck quit five miles down 40 east. The guy who "fixed" it was coming after me but was taken to jail after receiving his second ticket of the night for driving with a suspended liscense and failure to appear. I was towed to a motel a 4:00am and my wife came after me in the morning and she had a tow truck follow her from Kinston to Raleigh. My truck is still in the shop and I am left wondering was coming out of that smokestack in New Hill because I never went in the water......??????

did play the alt 9 holes and never realized how beautiful the other side is. it looks really fun. hole 8 or H is pretty flooky and a poor hole in my opinion but the rest is awesome. would love to see those permenant some day. thanks to carl for showing us around

I agree Big Wave - Richlands isn't that fun when the wind is blowing like that - however, wind is just one of those factors that can't be controlled.

I've had some people get mad at me for my the following statement, but I feel it is the truth. When the wind is high, we do not need to play the OB at Richlands.

I have not had much fun when the winds are high and we played the OB.

I disagree on 8 being flukey, it is a par 4. You throw an easy midrange 250 straight down to the corner, then another smooth flex Midrange to the bucket. Ya gots to play it SMART sun

was that really the actual statement you made that got some people mad at you?

i think the OB should be played no matter what the conditions. the high wind makes you think and throw differently than you would on most holes out there, less big hyzers over the OB, 3s instead of 2s.

firebird upshot... crucial

MTL21676
Feb 19 2007, 11:39 AM
I believe my actual statement was "when the OB was originally designed to be played, it was as a way to counteract days when it's not windy. Now, we had a very windy day and we are still playing the OB. When I see an intermediate player shooting in the 100's and then DNFing, that gives me proof that other players aren't having fun either"

I can find the thread, but I'm sure its pointless as you will (and have) just put words in my mouth.

in my opinion for pro you could shoot 3 or 4 fairly easily. 3 and 9 are give me's and 2,5,& 6 are very well defined fairways. Hole 1 is a dinker hyzer but it is tight and there are trees around the corner that you can't see so you should birdie but a 3 is possible. Hole's 4, 7 and 8 are going to make or break your round. 4 is 2 able 7 and 8 are solid par 4's w/ a 3 being a definite possibility. a 22 ro 21 would be blistering hoTT

Don't bring any alcohol to the course(this includes beer, liquor, wine, cough medicine, and maybe even rubbing alcohol-Bobert, what is your stance on rubbing alcohol?)...and if you have weed in your pocket and Boobert smells it, that could be grounds for DQ and 5-0 coming to cuff you as well.

Rules are made for a reason. Why have rules in place that aren't to be followed? Having rules in place that aren't followed only diminishes the importance and enforcement of every other rule.

The PDGA has made it a point to include in their rules that alcohol and drug consumption is forbidden in all sanctioned events. If you don't like the rule, then feel free to refrain from playing in PDGA-sanctioned events, or lobby the PDGA to change the rule.

It's absolutely ludicrous that a bunch of you can't follow the rules, and take your aggressions out on those who work to uphold the rules. It's absolutely intolerable that Robert Leonard should have to endure this grief for reporting those who egregiously and flauntingly break the rules.

Rules are in place for a reason. This Organization we have, which I love and have very much respect for, make the rules. It is our duty to uphold these rules as explained, for the benifit and growth of this sport. Steve, you are trying to make a point, sorry dude, you are in the wrong. MTL, is only concerned what transpires at the course, in front of public, that reflects on us as an organization. Play Steve, for the sport that you are good at, and leave the course and have fun some more. But at the course, support the rules. MTL, I played with you this weekend. 1 crazy putt we both thought was in, (good thing you had the score card, cause I was convinced it was in and remained in) and BC a freak of nature, I strongly feel the wind gust blew it out of the basket. You neat 2 putts were low, but after that, you composed yourself, and brought it. No prob with the putts.

If the consumption of alchohol is legal in the park (it's not legal in J-ville) then it is a.o.k. to drink a beer (as long as you are of age) after your round. i am asuming that was the arguement. i don't think anyone would attempt anyhting else with as many cops as i and everyone else that plays there on any occasion see's. they are all over the place and this point is moot but my observation was still correct.

Someone in my group missed a putt b/c of you guys.

If we were being loud, how could you tell that it was me...short pads are hidden from view on hole 11...and besides any of that, if the only thing that I did this past weekend (if I was even the one doing it) was be a little louder than you like (which is a joke, cuz your rants can be heard all over the course), then just quit complaining bro.

Sorry Scott and Moe...I am done ruining your thread about an awesome tournament that I would love to be a part of.

I'm trying to Dave.....I can't miss any work either. All these kids at school are either sick with soar throats and sinus or puking in the hallways.....I feel like I am at a sick ward. At the nest change in classes, I will emerse myself with germ-ex and drink a liter of water or juice. ;)

Yet not a single person has a said a word to me about profiessionalism or courtesy since Sneeky Pete.

Good call though.

And don't turn your decision to not play a great event into something personal with me. B/c if that is the REAL reason you aren't playing, then I got some bad news for ya bro. You got some serious personality issues.

I know one thing, I WILL NOT miss you or anyone else in Trim that doesn't play an event (except for Schweb). Schweb is the only good thing going for Trim and amazingly, the only one who still really plays. Can we say running yourselfs out of the sport?

Yet then some people say I will run myself out of the sport, yet I'm still here. Still playing.

NC will not miss your presence and I know one thing, both as a player and a TD and as a volunteer (you know those people that run the tournaments while you sit in the parking lot and goof off), every tournament I've been involved with that didn't have many members of trim, has somehow had no problems.

Amazing huh.

For a while there registrations were coming in pretty good. What happened? Again, let me remind all of you, and tell everyone you know. We don't hold spots.

I can't breathe with this mask on DG.....it is all fogged up and the kids are laughing at me when I try to teach. I won't let it be my excuse "if" you do beat me. You are very capable as you have proven. I can always expect a fight from you and many others that are making a run......It is fun though isn't it? Hope I do feel better by then though, I love J-ville, Richlands! Sometimes they just don't love back.

well either way Shamrock, you know good and well, we will be within 2 strokes of each other, cause i think at like the last 5 tourneys or something we have been like that. so lets do that in the top 5. Big Wave you can come too.

looks promising (http://www.weather.com/weather/weekend/28546?from=36hr_topnav_undeclared) but that wind needs to step it up a little on sunday... 11 mph aint gonna cuTT it. thats not even firebird worthy

marshief
Feb 20 2007, 04:43 PM
Jeff you need to come out here and play our local course, Bird's Nest, during a wind storm. Easily sustained 40+ mph winds, with gusts over 70 :D Mitch and I sometimes can't even get to the course because they shut down the road due to winds. makes life interesting. Throw a firebird on one hole, a flippyasswhateveristhemostbeatinyourbag on the next... and both go the same distance.

you guys need to use a REAL weather site. i think this is going to be closer to what is really going on.

sorry don't have time to create a cool hyper link

****, thats much beTTer. 16 sustained with 33 gusts, and thats not even richlands. weather.com is so fired.

Joseph
Feb 20 2007, 04:48 PM
If it says 11 mph for Richlands that is an average which means there are higher and lower values......I'll give you one guess where one of the higher values comes from. That big wide open space with no tree to slow wind speed.....if it says 11 don't beleive it.....it's the Pro Steed my friend!

Is it just me or is anyone else ready to just play disc golf and have some fun instead of all this crap???
I saw this on another thread and had to ask (I am sure Schweb) can answer this). Why isn't cuTT coming this weekend? I got to play with 2/3 of TTrim at Buckhorn. I was trying to go 3/3 but that 2nd round killed it lol.
