I said DO NOT be afraid....However, since fear is such a powerful Emotion , many will see fit to fall into its grasp and therefore run and hide. Any subjects that do find it nessesary to 'run and hide' should send self adressed envelopes to Jimmy's house with assignment completed and signed....Said assignment will be a 603 word essay on the origins and causes of 'FEAR'. In addition to the written explanation, all members who fail to make appearences at the Azalea event must donate a single CTP, which is to be used at Jimmy's discretion. If these conditions are not met by all nay players, there current groups will be held accountable, and a new tariff will be decided upon by all groups present.

we are offering hole sponsorhsips this year to really get the Pro Purse where we want it and that is BIG

Hole sponsorship's will be $25.00 a hole and you may add the total to your check or thru pay pal. list what hole you want to sponsor and we will take care of the rest.

as it stands now we have at least 5 holes taken care of which only leaves 13 so get them while the getting is good (the club's 5 holes will take whatever holes are left over from this fund raiser as to give the public first crack at what hole they would like) so bring it i don't want an empty hole out there guys. lets help make this the best azalea ever.

bgwvdave
Feb 07 2007, 01:56 PM
well buddy we talked about that at length last night. nothing is finalized but this is what the discussion consisted of. we will definetley play at least 2 rounds original. we where debating on playing 2 rounds with alt 1 (my favorite new hole and i think it is better than 1 orig.) and alt 10. so maybe alt 1 and 10 on saturday and orig. on sunday something like that. i am not sure if you have seen alt 10 yet schweeb but it is a rasied box with a left side placement about 30 feet left of orig. basket. the bottom the basket is like 6 feet tall it adds elevation to a pretty flat course. now discuss amungst yourselves. input is welcome

bschweberger
Feb 07 2007, 02:28 PM
I have seen those changes....I can live with that. I like the new hole 1 beTTer, it takes away the flukiness of the hyzer gap.

Feb 07 2007, 03:09 PM
Hole #10

What I like about the org. placement was that it called for a righty Hyzer shot off the tee, and then a anhyzer shot for a righty to the green. opposite for the lefty, but required the same type of shots. Now....its righty hyzer, righty hyzer.... Ooh well I do like the raised green. I would of like to of seen it go back further past the bush near the road...

bgwvdave
Feb 07 2007, 04:09 PM
it takes away the flukiness of the hyzer gap.

Exactly.

MTL21676
Feb 07 2007, 04:13 PM
where is new pin on 1?

bgwvdave
Feb 07 2007, 04:18 PM
31feet short of the road straight down the fairway 285 290 feet or so. it is a straight shot up the gutt the basket is about 1 foot the left of the last tree on the right. it is beautiful.

MTL21676
Feb 07 2007, 04:19 PM
so about 50 feet back right of the original pin it sounds like?

and yeah, the short is a little flukey for sure.

bgwvdave
Feb 07 2007, 04:23 PM
pretty much. it is a perfect pop up rock shot really cool.

Feb 07 2007, 04:25 PM
takes away the lefty hyzer route...

MTL21676

look out NC - MTL has learned a new shot over the winter

bgwvdave
Feb 07 2007, 04:46 PM
actually there is no need for a lefty hyzer it is a straight shot everyone needs to be able to throw that shot. the pin is on the right side so the lefty has the advantage :D

3. The Top Pro Card on Round 4 will contain at least one former "King of the Castle"
4. No one will be able to Eagle Hole 8, though some will be close...
5. Someone will Win the Ace Pool for the First Time.
6. The lowest 72 hole score record (233 - Bard "07) will be broken by one stroke (232)
7. Someone will make a "12" on Hole 12

there will be a 50 or a 49 shot at the azalea tournament..
and as far a records go the 56 still stands as the record
according to the Boz!!! and as Schweb pointed out earlier
it all comes down to the wind and weather.. but there will
be a new king!!! and it won't be a previous winner..
as for 4 rounds in the sub 60's.. its totally possible..
I can think of 4 or 5 people who could do it.. but once

Cleetus, good to hear you chime in...

Yeah, when you set that 56 in round one, I don't think people thought it was possible...it seemed more like a "perfect" round. At that point, some players were just peaking into the low 60's with the occasional 59.

At doubles, my partner and I shot a 54, and I can see it's not that hard, if you pick which holes to par and which to birdie...56 can be busted with a 49 and really doesn't require any shot more than 225ft.

speaking of the O.G. layout. we will be talking tonight about the lay out we want to use this year. who here has played the alt holes? and which ones if any do you think would make the course better for a tournament layout. we could also switch positions during the tourny to have a something like 2 rounds alt's 2 rounds O.G. who knows.

as far as i am concerend i think hole 1 is the only one i would like to see used. it is a harder but fairer shot and takes the flukeness out of the tress up by the basket out of play.

A few random opinions....

- "Take your best layout and play it four times" - Hall of Famer Carlton Howard
- People love the original!
- It is frustrating when out of town players like me get 4 rounds a year on a certain course and then they don't get to play that course 4 times.
- A tournament with 4 rounds on the same layout is very rare these days. Please keep Azeala this way.

i could not aggree more. one of my biggest gripes about the great tournies in j-ville is that i don't get to play 4 rounds in j-ville which is one of the funnest (yes i used funnest) courses in our area. that is why my idea was just hole 1. when you see it MTL i assure you you will love it. very remnicent of hole 1 at buckhorne but tighter

yes we do. I aggree totally with the things said about 10 but this is my thoughts on the alt pin placement. it changes the hole totally for me off the tee. in the og position i will crush a driver around the corner as far as i can and if it slips into the rough on the left side a little (trees usually stop me from getting in to deep) i don't care becasue i am usually far enough down the fairway that it is an easy little flex flick up to the basket. but now if you are off the fairway on the left it is a super hard shot to get around the corner so in the alt i will sacrafice distance to make sure i am in the fairway for a easy shot arounf the corner so i find myself throwing a teebird for the og position and a rock for the alt. the biggest thing i miss about the og is it is a great hyzer to anhyzer which you don't get with the alt.

I totally agree with DG. I said the exact thing today to Deacon. Original-try to get as far down as possible, alt go half way with a roc, and then get the other half with a roc. I tend to take higher numbers with the alt because the original is usually just a thumber on the 2nd shot. I almost prefer the alt...almost. We have enough turnover shots on the course. 2 less isn't going to bother anyone. I vote for alt-AM and orig-PM. My guess is 4 rounds same layout though.

Its not that Rudy has shots that I dont have (I love you Rudy :D) but that he pulled off a few when I couldn't. Nate is now officially entering his mid life crisis...with all the contemplative retrospection he is about to embark upon, his best golf is, no doubt, yet to come.

Just remember, beer doesn't care how old you are. It will hang out and be your best friend when nobody else will. One more reason...

Happy B-Day "Double Naught".. I hope you are doin well.. Boz you are the man!!!

thanks for the friendly conversation
Rory during the "Tizzle Parade of ***** Tour".. and i thought you stayed super classy with your patience, i tryed to bite my tounge untill the last hole, but i couldn't take it no more.
so I had to ask him not to talk to me no more.. there was only one hole left thoe..lol. but when he was quiet or not standing behind the basket, i could do what i had to do..lol.
I know he has a big heart and nothing but good intentions, but he is one abrasive dude...and rather difficult to tolerate by some peoples standards.. this is not just my oppinion, and it does not vow for much, I realize.. but I swear he just tryes to grind people sometimes, no matter how nice you are to him..
I have pulled him aside before and tryed to approach him about it, but he could care less what people think, and so he builds the bed of razors he sleeps in.. beleive me i have had my own personality issues to over come, but its never to late to be nice, polite, positive, and even quite sometimes.. you do not have to check the card every other hole to know where your at.. or keep your own score card! aren't you an accountant? work with numbers all day?
I know your smart. why not just worry about your own golf, and let your round show you what you are, as opposed to card spotting, and trying to annoy other people for your gain,
often more than less causing you to play poorly and if you try to say "I don't know what you are talking about"..

yes you do!!! you could't possibly forget your scores in a hole and ahalf, so its just repugnant behavior :D..lol. sorry just callin it like I see it.. You are a great dude, and I feel for your rap sometimes, but then you show me your stripes and i have to stand back and chuckle.. because you do bring it on yourself sometimes, if not most!!!..

No hard feelings Tizzle, your still the Ham of our lives!!!!!! just trying to help you out..

A few comments, and I will leave this alone.

1. Jason, you were not present and have no clue what happened. In fact Chris's account of what happen includes a lot of speculation. Please do not comment on issues that do not deal with you.
2. I asked to see the scorecard twice. Once on hole 15 and once on hole 17. I knew the other 4 of us (everyone but Chris who was having a great round) were very close and I was wanting to know how agressive I could afford to be on the last 2 or 3 holes. I lost my train of thought after 16 and got confused about where we all stood, so asked to see it again. If someone can show me in the rules where I do not have this right, I will be glad to no longer request to see it. On hole 18, we had a discussion about relief from the building. I was wrong in my claim that a golfer should not get relief from it. Once someone pointed out that they could due to rule of verticality, I completely agreed and withdrew my claim.
3. The past post was rediculous and has nothing to do with Azelea. Had I posted the same about someone else, everyone would be jumping down my throat saying I was trying to start something.
4. Once again, my actions during the round were in no way unprofessional, and once again, even if someone felt they were, no one called any type of violation on me. Of course, the only thing that could be called would be "worrying about where you are standing in the tournament" and "trying to enfore the rules properly".

If shots can realistically go OB in the building during the round, then you get the one meter relief due to verticality from the OB walls. However, if a building is always locked and out of play during events, like a maintenance building, then no one meter relief since it's a solid object like a giant rock. I know that TDs will call inside the building OB but it's not a correct call if a shot can't actually get there.

The Azelia Tnmt is always a great tournament. With flowers blooming, it kind of puts an aroma of love in the air. Cupcake is going to get a chance to play on the card with Mandy, so she has already gotten something out of it. Let's have fun, stay professional, and speak well of one another. It's important for our sport. Pros, are our leaders, and representation of what this sport has to offer.

First of all, tizzle, I was there, and there was no speculation!!!

second, for chuck,
If the roof or building is not OB chuck, then should I have went on the other side of the gymnasium and threw around the Gym? it would have took at least 4 or 5 throws to get around it, and the building is big in case you haven't seen it!
and even with casual relief on the other side i could not have thrown over it.. so what was I supposed to do?..lol. marking my lie with a mini would not even been enough for my foot
to stand..

Tizzle just stop! its over, you have the rest of the year to
grate people, let's let this one go.. I said I was sorry for pointing you out, and bringing it to the board. I never said
I did not mean what i said.. Just chill out, and the waters will calm again.. i should have made this a private issue, but you don't listen to anybody, its your world, and we just pay rent!..lol. well wrong!!! other peoples oppinions matter..
as i said this was not an attack, it was originally a message for Rory, I wanted to commend him on his patience with you.
I did it on this thread because I knew he would get it here..
and he did!.. you #$*&$! me and him off, and neither of us
graced you with a reaction... so you festered in your own crap, and if I know anything about anything, one thing is for sure.."Karma Takes Care of Itself" hence "not cashing"..lol.
but these are everyday issues with you... I wanna see you play good, I wanna see you get along with everyone, and I wanna see a tournament where you don't pull a play by play
on everyone because your playing well a couple of holes..
all of this is retarded, the bottom line.. just lighten up, its not
fair to everyone if your having fun being annoying to people and not caring what they think. they deserve more respect. they are just trying to play golf... this is the end of me on this thread.. good luck everyone at the payne!!!! if you have something to say tizzle about me, say it to my face.. and we will work this out.. sorry everyone, i will not do this again..

Icing on the Cake, Moe 2, how could I have missed that. Sorry Moe, can't wait to tell her. Sleeping now, will tell her in the am. She will be excited. I need to ask BOZ if she can get on the card with both of you so she has at least one round with you. She has always wanted to play with Mo and Mandy.
She is kinda worried that she is not good, however looks forward to learning, and doing her best.

TDs can make closed buildings OB such as in the case of this giant building. However, all I was pointing out is that a closed building like the typical maintenance shed you see on some courses is a solid object by default and OB only by course pro or TD rule. Sort of how water is not technically OB until the TD or course pro declares it to be.

Rory we may do some recording bed tracks over here of you, then I will layer over it, and we will take it to boz's for whatever else maddness we wish to put in.. and master it over there during Azalea weekend if thats cool with you.. because it is more local for you over there. boz will be joining us, and possibly mad dawg. Billy leonard might get in on this too.
I would be open for bass, unless someone else wanted in.
