Some media type from NBC just called the head office, they want to make a reality show based on this thread.

Not really, this thread is way better than reality T. V.

I don't know any of the parties to the thread and am not really in a position to comment on them. I hope they find peace. As for the video- Whoa! That was great theater. I try to avoid reality TV other than sports and Project Runway, but that was great. However, it was a little pornographic in that I felt like a voyeur looking in on their little world.

But back on the thread- the video made a good point. We all look a little comical when we take a black/white view of the world. MTL- you will find it liberating to find that there are many paths to the same end; that there are a lot of viewpoints with value; that an intelligent person can make good arguments for or against [insert your vice here]. As I get older I realize that the dumber I realize I am the more wisdom I exhibit. It seems that 25-30 pages of this thread may have provided that catharsis for you. Good. Throw 'em straight next time you are out on the course.

I think it is funny that the only people that encourage MTL to continue doing what he is doing are those that are in different regions of the country, which are the people that have probably never played a round with him. Mike,

I guess I am confused....there is a complete accounting of all the PDGA books at least once per year.

As a former Board member and a very critical individual I could not find anything wrong with the PDGA's spending habits while I was on the Board.

Why do you insist on insinuating that there is something sinister going on? Is it possible that you might need professional help? Try taking your meds as your doctor prescribes them.

I will admit that this thread was pretty bad and nothing good came out of it. In fact, for me personally, nothing but bad things came out of it.

I apologized publically for this a long time ago and I have no problem with you brining this thread back.

I use to respond to people who bothered me on here, but after learning quite a bit about those people and learning that my responding only added fuel to a fire I could not put out, I just simply started ignoring them.

Anyone who comes to this board a lot should easily see an improvement in my "behaivor" on this board since this thread passed on. I put this in quote marks b/c nothing I ever did was ever considered a violation of the rules.

Yes, I am a moderator now. If you feel I should not be a moderator, I urge you to please contact Steve Dodge and present the reasons why you feel this way. As a PDGA member, you should have a voice in who represents you.

Apologist Yoo,
Maybe you didn't read the results of the audit of the books that showed that there was no independent control/check of the spending of the ED for several years. Combine that with the BoD's stubborn refusal to answer pertinent questions of where the money goes, and get back to me...I'm certain that will have to be by e-mail as MTL has been offended and therefore I'll be banned shortly. Great organization you've got here. IF WE HIDE EVERYTHING OUR IMAGE WILL BE CLEAN!!!

Mike,

Obviously you don't know me. If you did you would know that I would be all over the PDGA like white on rice if I even suspected there was something untoward going on with our funds.

From your perspective you can consider me a former "insider" since I was on the Board. Your conspiracy theories are completely unfounded.

Like I said before you really need to take your medications as your doctor has prescibed them. The voices in your head are just that...in your head.

Let me give you some advice...if you argue with me it only means that you are wrong.

Sorry I missed your apology MTL. I was probably banned at the time.

I hope you've grown more tolerant of those whose opinions differ from your own. You can definitely demonstrate that by not threatening to ban me. I'm not about to ask Steve to remove you, I'd rather Steve remove himself for claiming to have saved this message board from Theo's wrath, then consistently breaking his own rules in regard to the board in the name of "image". Steve has shown absolutely no ability to lead this organization away from the intolerance that you once stood for MTL...I have more hope in you than Steve.

if you knew me you wouldn't claim that i take medication. you make a mockery of your reputed claim that you're some great watchdog when you said that---typical of a PDGA apologist to attack the man rather than what the man says. You're confusing MTL now with your contradictory sarcasm Kirk, and that's just terrible for the sport for a former BoD member to be so disingenous. It's really hurting our image and I'm surprised MTL hasn't banned you yet.

I am not apologizing for the PDGA as there is nothing to apologize for. I also, was not truly attacking you. I was joking. However, the meds comment was the only way you could possibly explain your constant conspiracy theories.

I'm still here?

If I was against the PDGA, why would I endure the humiliation of running for the BoD?

I'm not against the PDGA at all. In fact, I ran for the BoD after talking to Dodge. He said he wanted candidates to run who wouldn't rubber-stamp Theo's detrimental-to-the-sport decisions, so I stepped up. I was also hopeful of beginning reforms that would show that it wasn't the PDGA that's all F'ed up, it's the people who were running it. I wanted to get a look at the books and see if I could eliminate wasteful expenditures and knew after about 7 years of asking the PDGA to quit hiding this information from its members, the only way I'll ever see the books was/is to get elected.

Most importantly I thought Dodge wanted to make the PDGA better by exploring ways to cooperate with NEFA and the SN. You're right, i don't need to be a PDGA member to play disc golf in the South...but I believe we're better united than divided at this point in the sport's development. We need numbers, and we don't need players in the south USA constantly hearing how the PDGA doesn't care about them, as Brian Graham demonstrated not so long ago on the SN forum, telling the SN to take the PDGA or leave it.

Save your breath, those who say that it's me that presents an unprofessional image. At least I let you know what I think---I don't pretend to be a part of the solution like Dodge does, then stab people right in the back. At least Theo would give you a straight answer. Ever get that from Dodge? Nope. He's running a huge tournament and won't even sanction it with the PDGA---yet you don't call him the HYPOCRITE that he is. He revels in your stupidity. Follow Dodge's actions, not his double-talking mouth, and you'll see he's the one who not only doesn't care about reforming the PDGA, he'll work to cripple it behind the scenes.

Disc Golf is similar to every other organization that I have belonged to:

3% of the members do 95% of the work
7% of the members do the other 5% of the work
80% don't do anything but attend events
10% [censored] about everything without doing anything.

My advice is to ignore the 10% because you can't please them anyway. Enjoy what you are doing, don't do too much or you will get burned out. Try and get some of the 80% to do something once in a while.
