how much is a wafda membership, thinking of joining next year, if you dont mind a TDSA player joining in on the fun.

Bryan, all TDSA members are always welcome in WAFDA, because we've always looked at Tulsa as a good model too follow !!!! :)

We have a two tier membership with the first as a $10 tag membership and the second being a $30 membership that recieves a cool WAFDA shirt and tag !!!!! (Evan design shirt) :cool:

So what was it like (the Katana)? Can I buy it from you now, for a true short arm player (me)?

Trust me you dont want his katana as he bought the champion katana and it is pretty stable. What you really want is the Pro Katana. Those are the ones that fly true to the specs.

Is that just regular Pro, or R-Pro like the boss (which, btw I am looking for a light one of)? I need any help I can get. I think if I could just get knocked unconcious, and forget everything I have learned about throwing (incorrectly), that I could at least get my old drive (330ft) back! :(

They make both the R-pro and the Pro plastic in the katana and I would suggest the Pro over the R-Pro as the durability is an issue with me on the R-pro stuff but my girlfriend has the R-pro and loves it.

Willie, yes I think the Katana could be an awesome disc for you !!!!

mine is 175g and still is a little stable so far !!!! should work in just fine after a few more throws !!!!

Ahhh it was Mcclure park, i just pitched a firebird over the creek to the right and bang it went in...lol...it didnt even hit the chains it just hizered into the bucket...lol...not really a firebird shot more like a putter or a rock but it was breezy....the funny thing was that it was the first time i played the course and some of the locals were staring at me like i was a tulsa veteran....lol... they really looked at me funny when i was crossing the bridge and asked "hey guys where is the next hole?" Ya i felt like a big shot....lol...lucky me man. iwill definately give you a call when i get close...sorry i typed so much here but i am atthe office and friggin bored out of my mind.

I've had visions of "C" positions dancing in my head for years !!!! :cool:

I finally got out there this week to see what it will take to accomplish the task !!!

You've heard the phrase "It takes a village" that's about the jest of the matter !!!! The disc golf community as a whole will have to achieve this goal together !!!!

So I'm going to be out at Ben Geren on Friday to continue work on hole #14. If anybody has some free time come on out !!!! Chainsaws and operators are needed to speed up the progress !!!!!

Also after the Mini on Saturday, we'll be working on the course, focusing on the future "C" positions!!!!

I believe that Ben Geren is worth the effort and time to make it more flexible between (future) championship caliber and recreation friendly !!!!

I only have two portables and they will both be brought out there and if i can get a hold of three more I will bring them too.
So if you know of any try to get them out there. Otherwise we will just use the two and will have to carry them and only be able to use them after the mini during dubs. But if we get five we can set them out there and use them for the mini.
Let me know what you think.

I have some portable baskets (4 or 5) but am not sure I can make the mini Saturday. If someone happened to be coming through the area in the next couple days I would set them out so they would be easy to find. If they came around 4:30 or 5:00 tomorrow or Friday we could even play a round here at the house! :)

Chris, I've got one portable thats in my car now !!!! These new positions that you've found don't need clearing out !!!! Because there's a lot of underbrush out on the unused portions of the park !!!!

Maybe we could set up the new positions before the mini !!!! Because this Mini is a Work Day mini and after the mini at least the ones that want too, will be working on the future "C" positions, etc. !!!!! :)

But, you guys can do Dubs after the mini with the new positions !!!! Its all good !!!!! :cool:

I would like to comment on Kevin Jones. This kid exibits the kind of attitude that all golfers need to have. He was a pleasure to be around, always had a smile. He's also got huge game. He humiliated the MA2 card he was on the first round. He came off the back 9 walking ahead of his group, again he was all smiles. When the rest of the group came over the bridge, they had their heads down and just shaking their heads. I asked "hows it going?" The only replay I got, was "this kid is killing us":D

Wow, Eads did tear it up, looks like he could of cashed in Open, excellent ratings - I'm all for under 970 pro's being able to play in am divisions and if he keeps this up his ratings will climb over 970, it would be interesting to see Eads play on the big stage with the big boys - Big Congratulations!! :)

and TwoPutt is very right about Kevin, he's a true class act that I'll be proud to lose to any day :)

WAFDA !!!!!!! We have a problem !!!!!!! :( :confused: :eek:

I and every disc golfer that plays Ben Geren appreciates the mowing of the Disc Golf course !!!!!! The back part of Ben Geren Park, when mowed is a beautiful site to behold !!!!!! :)

But so far this year we're having problems with mowers hitting the baskets on the course !!!!! We've had one basket damaged from last fall !!!!! NOW the count of damaged baskets today is five, that's four more just since the mowing season began !!!!

The problem is at this rate we won't have any baskets left that aren't damaged by the end of the mowing season !!!!! :(

WAFDA needs to appoint are (PR) guy to discuss the problem with the Judge to see if we can come up with a solution to the problem !!!!!!! Ben Geren is worth the effort to find a workable solution !!!!!!

I talked to the parks director around 2 weeks ago about #8 and #12
he said that they would fix it

now there are 3 more?

Ya Evan, besides #8 (last fall) and #12 !!!!!! There's #14, #17, and #3 !!!!!!! So far !!!!!! :eek: :confused: :(

I will make sure that our parks director knows as well as his boss

we have purchased some of those baskets when we formed as an association, originally it was to be a 9 hole course, we purchased 3 of them and the tee-pads and signage to make it an 18 hole with what the county's budget for it was 5 years ago

we also purchased the practice basket a few years later and had also paid for the original alternate sleeves when the course went permanent - they have replaced several sleeves that they are able to manufacture, the employee with the "know-how" about the sleeves is no longer with them however the damaged sleeves were also discussed when I originally talked to them awhile back - baskets were priority (now there are 5 instead of 2), sleeves were scheduled to be fixed by Hell on the Border

Are we still holding the mini, even with the volunteer opportunity in Greenwood on Saturday? Wasn't sure just wanted to check. And even if you do hit the mini, be sure and swing down to Greenwood and show your support for disc golf at the Special Olympics Day at Bell Park. We will be teaching Special Olympic athletes and their families about disc golf! Should be a really good day!

Probably be 10-20 show up at Ben Geren regardless, myself and Roger discussed this and figured he should run it versus not being there and things running amuck (keep in mind the Special Olympic staff sprung the details to me 5 days prior to the clinic versus the 2 week lead time originally planned)

we do have 4 people on hand with a possibility of more for Greenwood

if anyone wants to come out after the mini or instead of the mini they are welcome to of course

Willy is bringing portables, Eric is bringing lightweight plastic, Myself and Eads are bringing the skills to impress the new players :D
