I don't know much about the guys outside of NC, so I can't really make any predictions. I would say that the NC boys will definitely be in the mix, and most likely have 2-3 in the finals. Can't wait to compete with you guys, it'll be fun for sure.

in 16 and under, i look for Blake Orum (AL) to make a good showing if not win it

Andrew Coggin from Winston-Salem, NC is my prediction for winner of the boys 10 and under. I've seen him play. He is very good. Ditto for Chris Warf in the 16 and under.

The way Ian has been playing , he is a solid contender!!

He took first in an unsactioned tourney (MPO) with 24 players. the following weekend he won a B-tier in Waco by 20 strokes averaging 1010 for 4 rounds..freakin solid!! ;) also the 1010 avg was based on AM only propagators.He shot better than 6 1000+ rated players for the tourney...

I second your statement about Ian Hovey!! He is playing great golf right now!! He broke the course record at Old Settlers park in Round Rock yesterday by a couple strokes. I think Nolan Grider had the previous record with a -7 which was rated around 1050. Ian shot a lights out -10..

Atleast the favorites this year are from a place other than North Carolina....thank goodness for that!

NC guys to look out for (and please don;t take any comments negatively guys from NC if you read these, these are only opinions and I'm rooting for everyone of ya'll)

1. Jeb Bryant - rated ~965 - has cashed and declined many times in NC - winner of the VA Open Super Tour -

Pluses - huge arm, great golf D and probably the only person who can keep with Schweb when it comes to thumber D - has a round rated 1074 to his credit

Minuses - tends to have really bad rounds here and there - putt is very streaky and doesn'work well in wind

Tony Andnolfini (sp?) - Rated ~960
Strengths - great putt, overall very solid player - not a true weak part of his game

Weaknesses - not a lot of big tournament experience, not been out and played many different types of courses

MAtt Smith - rated ~955 - recently denied cash 4 times (inlcuding two third place finishes, one of which he shot over a 1000 in both rounds of a one day event) - many wins, top 20 at Bowling Green - 42nd at last years worlds

Strengths - Great putter when hes on - has consistently been one of the top ams in NC recently - very consistent player

Weaknesses - has a little bit of a temper and have heard stories of mental breakdowns

What about Mixed Dubs? Where's the smack talk at???

Yea I was gonna play Advanced but I decided to give myself another year to get better so I would have a really good chance to win AM World's next year.

Take a look at the scores at the end....the numbers don't tell the whole story. A guy playing for 2 years and taking a world's top 20....someone not practicing at all, and taking 30th. Someone working their #$*&$! off and finishing top ten, a guy playing his best, and finishing 147th. The guy who finishes first is never the only one who truly wins...

Lund - looking bad on the road - I doubt it. Check Bowling Green.

Hutch is so much older than everyone. He's a solid 980 golfer who has bagged for years hoping to win a ADV Master titles, but Tulsa Worlds came too soon. He's 38. It would be funny to watch the youngins with the geriatric.

Bond - nice guy, but he's not going to win. I enjoyed playing with him at Am Worlds Dubs, but nothing struck me as a "lights out" player capable of the 8 & 1/2rounds to win it.

I saw him play in STL. A little strange, definitely a kid, but just a competitor in my perception. He did not beat Nikko any round he made it to in the STL Open. 8 days and a wake up till its time to climb in the car and roll toward Big T-Town.

The Dude beat him the 1st and 4th round..(his 4th round 49 was removed)..if he wouldn't have missed the 3rd round he probably would have won.
