If anybody finds any of my 7 discs that I lost last weekend they can have them.

They did me wrong. :D

LOL..... i would have only finished with 4 discs if that were the case.

I lost a very NICE Blue Z Predator during doubles.

How is it that I came home with all my plastic from last weekend, and shot like crap...... CURIOUS....

I had the pleasure / misfortune of witnessing 3 disc's in a row drop right into the swollen creek on hole 14 @ porter.

As awful as it was to see, it sure was good for a laugh.

Double Circle 8 was the worst I hear for that Hole..

I lost 4 and got one back..all lost in between #1 and A at GB

Sep 21 2006, 06:12 PM
I believe you are mistaken, that was a triple circle eight.
It was painful!
Glad it was not me. Karma just had it out for Ken. His lay up after the second errant drive even found the water.

Ouch..while I was typing I was wondering how many flyby's still happened with only 2 circles :D

He still whooped on Matt Millican...this guy missed the first 3 holes of round #2..then went birdie #1, 3's on A & B (both very close to parked drives), birdie C and then quit again...strange cat he was

I heard about that guy. We shall call him " gone fishin' "
Hey Adam, are you coming this way any time soon? I have an umbrella @ Mr Jims , and I really do not feel like driving ALL THE WAY OVER THERE.....

I may head to Cedar Hill for the ace race on Saturday..will you be there? or the McKinney event the folowing weekend?

Speaking of which..it was so funny to see so many Fort Worth, West DFW guys out there that had never played the course..didn't know that was possible

I think I have played almost every course in the metroplex besides 2/3 and we always head to Vet, Z, BC, ect.

Glad you boys and girls got those cars headed east to Carrollton :D

Ben has been out of the country this week. He is suppose to arrive back in the good old USA today and hopefully will get the info on Titledisc.

It is expected to be a full field for a one day event. There are only 21 holes usually so expect a cut at around 105 players.

But as usual, everything is a rumer till Ben Posts it.

Bryan - my aunt in Emporia, KS just sent me a nice article their paper did on Eric's win at the tourney.

I will try to get it uploaded onto the site sometime later today.

I apologize to each and every one of the 200 players who played this years Carrollton Open. I failed to get the finalized paperwork in to the PDGA before the December 4th deadline on the last ratings update. (well some of you might be happy about that :D)

In the 10 years I have been running this tournament, this is the latest I have ever turned in the final paperwork. I will get it in by the end of the year and your rounds will be included in the next ratings update.

Again, I am sorry.

PDGA #5380
TD - Mr. Jim's Carrollton Open

PS, thanks for those who offered to help get it done quicker next year. I WILL take you up on it. As anyone who has run a tournament can tell you, you get major TD burnout when the tournament is over. The last thing you want todo is do the paperwork for the PDGA.

I can sympathize. I have my paper work about 90% complete, the checks to the PDGA cut and I am having a hard time getting that last 10% done. There is nothing like trying to fill in all the info for the non-registered players. The term TD buynout does not adequately describe the after the tournament feeling.

To everyone else, when you guys and gals fill in the entry forms, we, the TD's, have to go back and look at that mess. Please take the time to write legibly and complete the fields on the form. Thanks.

Although it's not ideal, Dave would rather TDs send in their reports in sections so players get their points and ratings. Transmit the scores, course layouts and new memberships/renewals ASAP. Then send the payouts, financial details, nonmember info, etc. later. Just don't hold up the scoring part because all of the other stuff, that final 10%, isn't ready.

Could the report be built in 2 sections, the first to be filed within 48 hours of the tournament, and the second by the normal filing date ?

Better idea...

Raise the PDGA fees by $.25.
Mail/FedEx all the player entry forms and stuff that needs to be data entered to the PDGA.
The PDGA could outsource the data entry to illegal aliens at very cheap rates. Then all the TD has to do is make sure the check to the PDGA is for the right amount, and that scores/layouts are correct.

There's no need for two parts. Email the incomplete version with just the scores, layouts and memberships/renewals. Any TD who has posted unofficial results online has phase one mostly done. There's little excuse to not get that part sent ASAP.

except Gary Duke took care of that for me. All I did was email him his program. (which usually calculates the stats for the PDGA, but had a bug in it due to adding new divisions) We had 3 Pro Master Women this year.

Chuck, I think that is a good idea, but I agree it would be so much easier if there was a shortened format for 48 hour delivery. Of course that would give some TD's license to take that much longer to compete the final report.
