we usually dont go out til 5:20 or so, but yeh i hear ya. its kinda early for people driving up from sd, summer traffic, etc. i'll hit skip up on it tonight and see if we can push it back a little for everyone's sake. i think that might help get more people to show across the board. let you know....

You're right, you guys shot a -2. When I was counting the scores I accidently counted your 5 as a double bogey on hole 7.

Oh, and I have still have NO confidence playing at Morley. I always suck there in tournaments still, but outa town, I turn my frown upside down!

i would have to say that should be scored as a par 4 given the difficulty of the hole, but i have heard varying viewpoints on that. i've only seen one 2 on that one since we put it in, made with a GIGANTIC putt by big d. its a tough 3 or a easy 4. i dont know, what do you think.....

I think it is realistically possible to get a two on that hole, so it should be a par 3. Also, I don't like the idea of having a more or less open field hole under 500' be a par four.

What if a hole has three OB lakes right in the middle, OB on the left and right side of the fairways,is up hill, and offers no anhyzer/ hyzer flip route? :confused: :mad: Unless your a left handed player with solid distance, Ryan. :D

I personally have never seen a two on that hole. I would say it is an easy four, but scott and I foured short six tonight and that is not an easy thing to do.

Honestly I can entertain the idea of both viewpoints, but I think mines just better. :D

Hole 4 in the long is a par 4.That was a bad spot to put it, It should have been either 50 ft shorter ,or 45 ft longer, what a difference 50 ft makes.The tee pad on 6 will spike the green all the time Skipp said he was going to move it.

Hole 4 in the new long position is a good hole. I have seen it 2'd and I have seen it 6'd and everything in between by both righties and lefties. However, I also believe it should be a par 3. I disagree with the green being spiked all the time, it will only be spiked if someone who can't clear the green tries to throw for a 2. Personally I throw my Buzzz, to the front edge of the green between the two traps. Then throw my Tracker to the basket and putt out for 3. No spiked green, no OB stroke and a simple par 3!

Hole 4 long is triple terraced and uphill the entire way, there is a solid set of three trees guarding the third plateau, sand traps on the left and right, and a massive green in the middle, the distance is 470' UPHILL digitally measured. It is a par 4. True design, word.

Does anyone know how many people were able to record a two on that hole during the EIEIO?

It was my understanding that if an open player could not drive to the basket, within 10 meters, on a consistant basis then it should be a par four. If your laying up infront of the OB or getting by the OB your still going to have a 60-250ft up shot. Neither of which yields a very probable birdie opportunity. Can I get an amen?

Amen, it's a par four.

Distance alone cannot be used to determine par. I have played a number of ball golf courses with short par fours that are par fours because the difficulty of placement of the drive off the tee. The risk/reward decision of laying up in front of the OB or trying to pass (or bypass) the OB makes the drive quite difficult on this hole. Compare it to 2 or 7 where the OB is only in play for shots that are way off line. You can go OB on 4's drive by being too short, too long, too straight, too right or too left.

Of course someone has made a two on #4. I wouldn't call #3 a par 2 just because I've seen someone ace it. I saw Daniel make a 2 on #2 last night, but I don't think that hole is a par 3.

Agreed: par-4. An easy par 4, but a 4 nonetheless. There are multiple opportunities for a birdie-3, but none of them are simple or gimmes for mortals.

You can lay up easy and have a tough upshot, or you can throw a more difficult drive to the right-side position and have an easier but far from simple upshot, or you can try to get across the green with a risky drive that rewards you with a much easier upshot. It's a birdie-able par-4 that is easy to get a five on if you try for the bird.

I am going to take this opportunity and say that I was wrong. After hearing everyone's views, I have changed my opinion on the matter. I agree it should be a par 4. I think it is a horribly easy par 4, but a par 4 none-the-less.

I agree that you can't determine the Par on a hole simply by the distance. If hole four is a Par 4, it is a very very easy par 4. Personally I think there are harder holes at EI and they are Par 3's.

I play them all as if they are Par 3 anyways, maybe that is why I think I play bad at EI!

I've seen more 4's than 3's, and more 3's than 2's. In fact there has only been one 2 ever. Daniel Lichtman with a 250+ upshot that went in. Franchise can play it as a 3, everything is a 3 in disc golf...LOL

The lines aren't real distinct where the paths end and the grass starts. It would generate too much hate and discontent because it would be too much work to stake or string all the paths too.

I agree it would be nice, but I just don't think it is real do-able considering the way most people will pretty much say anything to avoid a stroke instead of just taking it and playing on. :p

The course is challenging enough as is. It's not like anyone is destroying the course day in and day out like Morley.

Interesting. Shot placement is key on that pin position.

It was a sweet drive, and an amazing upshot. I feel like its a valid par 4. The green and bunkers are HUGE obsticles for most golfers, not to mention the trees blocking the upshot.

PS- hole 2 is a serious par 4, and i hit an eagle there last week. Again, huge drive, amazing upshot. Not something i EVER expected to get. Par 4's add a challenge, and more excitement when deuced.

Thanks, Ryan! I could ve played better than making some bad decisions like when I decided to go for a birdie on #10 (about 15 feet away) on 2nd round but I ended up with a bogey. That was ridiculous decision, though.

Yeah, I understood how you felt about 1st round, so was I. Am sure some of the players could be upset with their performance in the game and being obsessed with it. It happened to me sometimes. Have to forget the past and focus on the next one, man!

My advice is to stay in California!

I have not found anywhere worth playing yet, but drive the southern route and stop and play on the way back.

AND it has snowed already here so dress warm.

Scooter was lucky enough to be the first of hopefully a very long standing tradition. I'll play you anytime head-to-head for putters Cary. Loser gives winner the putter they used during the round. If you're afraid of losing your precious BB Aviar, just throw a normal Aviar during the match. But that might improve your chances of losing, too?! lol

P.S. I'm lucky enough to not care too much about my putters, I go through Pro D Challengers on a one every two month rate, and prefer them to be brand new. I don't get attached to them.

Yes, you did warn him. I guess my comment meant to point out that his hubris made a bet that his game couldn't cover. That you lowered the dollar amount is a credit to your sense of fair play.

I shot a 51 today which is 4 strokes better. I shot like crap on the backside though. Still probably a 1000-1010 round.
