Places Everyone, Places..Look Boss---De Plane, De Plane!

Well it may not be Mr. Roarkes Fantasy Island (http://www.epguides.com/FantasyIsland/cast.jpg), but we are excited to announce our sports version of a Disc Golf Fantasy Island Cruise to the BAHAMAS!

<font color="blue"> The Island Hoppin, Cocktail Sippin, Disc Golfin Cruise </font>

December 4-8, 2006

Join your hosts Jay & Des Reading along with Juliana Korver and Shawn Sinclair for this first ever historic disc golf cruise brought to you by your friends at Sun King Discs (http://www.sunkingdiscs.com/) and DGA (http://www.discgolfassoc.com/).

Well be sailing the Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines Sovereign of the Seas (http://www.royalcaribbean.com/findacruise/ships/class/ship/home.do;jsessionid=0000QQyroj2HL583peu2jGhOJCq:10k tdmkdk?br=R&shipClassCode=SS&shipCode=SS) for four nights in the lush tropics of the Bahamas. Well leave out of Port Canaveral, Florida and visit CocoCay and Nassua of the Bahamas. Now for the best part:

The cruise ship will be carrying 18 disc golf baskets in the hull just for us and stopping at one of Royal Caribbeans private islands for an 18 hole, two round PDGA C-Tier tournament!

Come with your friends, bring your family, there will be plenty to see and do to please everybody involved.

Jay,

Did you secure a special group rate, or is it just the standard cruise company rate?

If a special group rate, are there special rates for suites, too?

I think we're probably going to take this trip, but I know my wife is going to want a suite with a private balcony...

Just to be clear, we (J&D, JK&SS) all are just the hosts. We get the job of promoting the cruise, having fun and making sure you all have fun as well. The cruise itself was put together by the guys at SunKing and CruiseWorld.

Pizza, this is all a new endeavor, but I do know they had to work pretty closely with Royal C. to even get approval to carry the baskets etc. so it will all be an adventure. Maybe we get boarding privileges? These guys pulled off a first year Champions Cup so I think they got it going on.

--We have 75 cabins reserved (double occupancy)

--There is a payment plan so to speak if you want to pay your first $100 deposit on or before February 20th. That way you can save and deposit as the summer rolls on and by the time the cold arrives in December you already paid for the white sand beaches and sky blue water.

BTW, my wife and I may be in. I know she is not going to play disc golf (she can snorkle that day, I will never go snorkeling again)

We are looking at bringing one of our kids. But he is in school that week and they don't allow you to miss that many days anymore. (I missed the whole last week of school when I was his age for a family vacation)

But either way we may try to swing it.

It may cost as much to get there as the cruise cost itself.

Looks like someone is going this spring to design the course and make up scorecards beforehand.

Yeti
Jan 17 2006, 12:05 PM
You got that right Gecko, Des is already swimsuit shopping
Man, if just the people posting already decide to go this will be an incredible cruise! :D

Some more answers:

There was a question about the time parameters on
CocoCay. We have secured a priority dis-embarkment off of the ship. The course will be a traditional type course designed
with time constraints in mind. There will be a lunch
buffet in between rounds. Also, the players' meeting
and awards ceremonies will both be conducted on the
ship.

If you have your flight in to Florida just before the cruise, there are shuttle options. You'll have to see what options there are with CruiseWorld and Royal C.

We have 75 cabins on reserve and can get more if need be. Our deals are set up through CruiseWorld and only include the cabins on the flyer. If you want a Suite or Quad, CruiseWorld can accomadate you, but the pricing will obviously will be structured differently.

I have had a number of inquiries about sending in the deposit. The deposit will secure your spot and let you take advantage of a payment plan so to speak. Please read the flyer closely for details. Cruise Flyer (http://www.etherbinge.com/cruise.htm)

I would love to be able to do this- and surprisingly- my wife is thinking we really could-

but-

$100 non-refundable deposit + $25 cancelation fee =

$250 for a couple they totally lose if something happens between the end of February and December and they can't make it.That is a pretty stiff loss.

I understand the cancelation fee. I would even understand it taking up to 60 days to get a refund on a deposit- But to completly lose $250 is a little out of hand...

Is there any negotiation on this?

Does this thing sail out of Miami?

Yeti
Jan 17 2006, 12:28 PM
Josh, I am really not answering your specific question, but have some considerations for you.

You don't have to pay the deposit. You can pay for the cruise at any point during the process. If you decide that the cruise is a go in late September for instance, you'll have to pay the full amount at the time of registration.

Believe me, I see your point. You have to understand the undertaking that is being done here. Given the noncommittal nature of disc golfers to pre-register for regular tournaments, the cruise organizers need hard committment for an endeavor of this scope and size. Obviously we are not going three hours away to a B-Tier tournament, but off to the exotics of another country an ocean away.

You can always start your own payment plan and sock away $20 each week until you feel safe in being able to attend. This option will not cost you any more. Emergencies are always a distinct possibility in life, unfortunately we just can't predict them.

Has anyone looked into flights? seems like a pain , so far!! Can cruiseworld set up reasonable flights etc, also? It seemed that the options were either Melbourne or Orlando!! Melbourne seemed to have limited flights from Austin and is 20 miles away.Orlando had more options and was around 80 miles away!! I think the Miami Cruise would have been more feasible and had 1 extra stop in key west!!

CruiseWorld is your best bet for information regarding specifics and logistics.

Andy (ext 202) informed me that you will find the cheapest flights into Orlando, FL. They can help you with flights as they are a travel agency. If you find a cheap flight on your own, and book your cruise, you can purchase a transfer for about $35-$40 roundtrip.
That means a shuttle will pick you up at the airport and take you to the cruise, both there and back.

Hey Efrain, I checked on some flights from SA to Orlando and they were a lot lower then going through Cruise world. I called Southwest and Delta they wanted $225.00 per person and Cruise world is charging $389.00. Yes, you can wait until closer to the cruise time, BUT you risk the rates going up. The rate WILL go up if the ship starts to fill early.

On the other hand, you could wait till a month out and get the room even cheaper than right now.

So far the cheapest I can get the room with all charges is $609.76. Add insurance to $682.76. I can add airfair for 359 per person which is more than the cruise. (it does not say what airlines or how we get to the ship. I assume it is included but have not read all the fine details yet.)

I may book the cruise as soon as we find sitters for our kids, then I will worry about how to get there.

Ok,

Cheapest flight from DFW to MCO is $231/$462

ONLY direct flight is American for $257/$514

I found transport for 2 people for $60 ($72 with tip)

But it goes down from there if you add more people. In fact it is only $75 for 4. How about $120 for 6 to 10 people.

If 5 couples can arrive about the same time in Orlando, we can book a van for 12 per person or $24 per couple (plus tip of course)

Just thinking. I would rather spend $30 more on the cruse than trasportation.

I have personally lived and worked on several cruise ships and have cruised all over the world. I have cruised the Carribbean, Mexico, Alaska, the Meditteranean, and even in and safely out of the Bermuda Triangle. Believe me when I say everyone will have a great time on the ship/floating hotel. Make your plans now and you will have a wonderful experience at sea.

Some of my favorite passenger quuotes while working on a cruise ship:
- Do the crew sleep on board?
- What time is midnight buffet?
- Is the doctor qualified?
- What happens if more than 2 people die at sea?
- Why is there so many banana's on the menu?

I could go on forever...bonus points to anyone that can work out the banana comment.

This will be a great time.

Parking at Port Canaveral's Cruise Terminals is paved, gated, and under 24-hour surveillance. Parking is located at each terminal and is well sign-posted. Passengers at Cruise Terminal 9/10 have a choice of outdoor parking or the new six-level parking garage.
There are special areas designed for parking for the disabled, however we do not provide free parking unless it is (1) a vehicle with specialized equipment, such as ramps, lifts, or foot or hand controls, for use by a person who has a disability, or (2) a vehicle that is displaying the Florida Toll Exemption permit (call 1-800-983-2435 #2 for an exemption form).
Otherwise, parking fee is $12.00 per day for vehicles up to 20 feet in length and $24.00 per day for vehicles over 20 feet. The total amount for the time the vehicle is to be parked must be paid in full upon entering the parking area. Visa, MasterCard, Traveler's Checks issued in U.S. dollars and Cash are accepted in payment of fees. All fees stated above are subject to change without notice by Canaveral Port Authority.

The three-tiered passenger loading tower includes an elevator and four escalators and features a hydraulic gangway system adjustable to the various heights of almost all of today's cruise ships.
Royal Caribbean International (RCI) homeports the 2,600-passenger Sovereign of the Seas at Port Canaveral, utilizing CT 9/10 on Fridays and Mondays. RCI's Mariner of the Seas sails on Sundays from this terminal.
The Carnival Glory sails from CT 10 Saturdays

Sorry Brian if you take too long to play the round and miss the tender then you will have to wait until the following cruise to get picked up. The captain waits for no one.

I cut it real close in the Cayman Islands, we were about to get on our tender when I realized I did not have my camera (my parents gave it to me for the cruise). I started back tracking every shop we stopped in. With 10min to go, and the last (or first stop we made) I found it. As soon as I walked in she goes, "missing something?" I ran back to the tenders and got the last one back to the ship.

Jan 18 2006, 04:05 AM
I ran this by the girlfriend and she said it sounded fun, but the thought of being stuck on a ship was scary to her...

I'm so going on this trip! I may be paying for two people, and be on the lookout for a new girlfriend :D

Just something to think about when planning airfare,

If you book through Royal caribbean you will have an insurance of knowing that if something happens to your flight and you do not make it in time then it is the CRUISELINES responseability to get you to the next port or make other arrangements. If you buy Tickets on your own and don't make the boat you have lost everything.

I have cruised with RC twice and I would never cruise another Cruise line. Everyone who can should go. Last year I went to there private Island in Haiti and brought along a couple of discs and played some object golf.

Hey do think I could be Haiti's rep at the USDGC. :DLOL

Chris

Best Captins quote ever is.

If you hear the Horn sound twice then you have 30 min to get on the ship. If you hear it sound three times stop running and congrats you have just become a native!!!

John,

This event has been setup as an exclusive deal with Sun King and Cruise world. If you don't sign up for the cruise you will not be able to play the event. Sorry.

Also all that are interested please make sure you have a passport. If not here is what you need:

Cruise Documentation In the absence of a passport, Naturalization papers (either original
or notarized copy) plus a picture ID card issued by a federal, state or local government
agency is required. Non U.S. Citizens (Except Canadians): Valid passports and visas (when
needed) including the original copy of Alien Registration Card (ARC or "Green card") and
any other travel documentation required because of alien status in the United States or
with respect to any country on the itinerary. For visas, please contact the Embassies
(Consular Services) of each country on your sailing itinerary or the visa service of your
choice, such as Zierer Visa Service website, where you can email or call for specific
visa requirements, information, forms and fees for your nationality.

Shouldn't a birth certificate along with a valid photo drivers liscense qualify instead of a visa/passport?

The banana answer: For the postassium possibly, so all the people that are drinking wont get crams from dehydration...or because banana's are incredibly prevelant and dirt cheap to get in mass quantities, and also last a long time.
The only alternate answer I can come up with is so you eat them, throw the peels on the floor and let the hilarity ensue.

The last time I went to the Bahamas (2001), my birth certificate and drivers license were sufficient, and didn't cause any delays entering the country.

When I worked off-shore on sea-going black oil barges, we didn't keep or use an unusual amount of bananas...so, as far as I know (and I worked with some crusty old time sailors), they are not a remedy for sea sickness. Although, I can testify that when you do have sea sickness, bananas are easy to purge.

Okay here is the short story about the banana's...

Every ship has a doctor, nurses etc. They also have refrigerated coffins in case people die while at sea. Believe it or not this happens way more than you would think.

On one ship I worked they had 2 coffin lockers. However on several cruises we would have 3 or more people die (true story). How do you fit 3 dead bodies into 2 coffins? You don't, you empty out the banana storage fridge which works at the same temperature and put the bodies in there.

When we had a large excess of banana's it always meant more than 2 people had died.

I love banana's (ate them alot at sea) but can't forget why and just what they sat next to in the fridge. :D

Apart from that the cruise will be awesome.

We went on this same cruise two years ago, but we made a stop at Key West instead of staying out the last day. Not sure if the hurricane has caused concern with stopping there this year or if this path was setup differently for other reasons? One thing I had concerns with as someone else stated. The time it took to get on the ferry to the island was a bit time consuming and getting back on was the same way. Getting a tourney started at 9-10 and getting finished by 4-5 could be difficult perhaps depending on the turnout obviously. I am sure they have thought of these things upfront, but just a thought.

Also, when we went it was in November and the crew said they hadn't stopped at Coco Cay (sp?) because of weather in about 2-3 weeks. I am not sure if that was a fluke or if the weather is shakey that time of the year? We did get to go that trip and it was beautiful to say the least. It is too cool sitting on the island and seeing the ship about a half mile away in the ocean just sitting there. Looks fake almost to be honest. I don't want people to think I am discouraging them, I plan to be there, just don't go because of the tourney! That will just be a big BONUS.

Disc Golf Tournament is for patrons of the Disc Golf Cruise offered by CruiseWorld and SunKing discs.

Because of the package deal, you actually still come out ahead booking through CruiseWorld on the cruise at least.

The prices on Royal C's website do not include:
--Taxes
--Govt fees
--Port charges
--Weclome package ($75)
--Host clinics/seminar, party whatever we do as part of the DG cruise

Shick, we have priority embarkment off of the boat for the tournament :DYeah baby!

jan 1st of 2007 that is. But I already have my passport from my trip to London a few years ago

What is included in the $75 coupon book.

I have checked some of those types of books for other cruises and would have not used any of them.

If the travel agent can get me as good a deal on Airfair as I can get, AND save me some money on a shuttle I have no problem with them booking. But I do have a problem with possibly paying more just to be able to play the tournament.

Either way, I should be there. (as far as insurance, I thought abouout that too)

Jan 18 2006, 06:54 PM
Yes, if the water is too choppy, they can't port at the island. In your case, they may have Ported at Key west instead. On my cruise to The Cayman Islands, we were able port, but there was a chance we were going to have to skip it, if I remember correctly, they told us we were going to stop somewhere else.

RobBull
Jan 18 2006, 07:57 PM
This is one of the reasons that alot of travel agency's are struggling right now (including my fathers). Companies are offering better rates through their own websites than through agencies.
By booking through the travel agency we are also helping pay for the hosts cruises. That is one of the perks to hosting something like this and putting in the amount of time that they will. Unfortunatly that cost is built into the group rate and on the surface it seems considerably more expensive than going direct.

The travel agency that use to be next door to me closed a few years ago, the agency that use to be a BIG sponsor for the Disc Golf events in this area did the same thing. (actually the owner sold out before the market totally dried up)

The problem is that you pay for a convenince to use a travel agency, they don't get the kickbacks they use to for bookings. Kinda sad when you think about it.

In the short two weeks since our hosts first announced this special disc golf event we've had an amazing response.

3,000 page views on this discussion board, 900 hits on the disc golf cruise website (http://www.etherbinge.com/cruise.htm), and 37 people have put down a deposit through Cruiseworld to become a part of disc golf history!

The group passenger list and a new cabinmate-finder discussion thread are now up on the disc golf cruise website (http://www.etherbinge.com/cruise.htm).

Many people so far have upgraded to a Junior Suite. Be sure to ask your Cruiseworld agent about all you cruising options.

Just a couple reminders:
After February 20th it is still possible to book a cabin, but the initial deposit will be $200.
The field for the disc golf tournament on CocoCay is limited to 72. We anticipate it to sell out sooner rather than later, so don't get left out, call Cruiseworld Today! (800) 228-1153

The passenger list has swollen to 88 having paid deposits, 59 of which have registered for the tournament on Royal Caribbean's private island, CocoCay! THAT LEAVES ONLY 13 REMAINING TOURNAMENT SPOTS!

If you're on the fence, then you'd better act quickly if you'd like to be a part of this fun, inaugural event! Check out the cruise website for more info:
www.etherbinge.com/cruise.htm (http://www.etherbinge.com/cruise.htm)

Once the tournament fills Cruiseworld will still be reserving cabins for those that'd like to be a part of the group. For those that aren't a part of the tournament, the course will be open for 45-60 minutes in between rounds if you just want to get a quick round in.

For those that aren't able to make this cruise: we have begun to plan for the second disc golf cruise in 2007. Any feedback on dates and destinations will be taken into consideration as we work through the planning process.

Also, as Shawn mentioned earlier, we are considering doing a casual one-day event on Sunday, December 3rd as a Bon Voyage Party! We'd like to get some feedback on this one. Basically our options are:
1) Play the original Fly-18 Space Coast layout in Titusville with Mach-Lites
2) Play Wickham Park in Melbourne
3) Play Turkey Lake or Barnett Park in Orlando

Hey, you should double check with those that are not signed up for the tournament to make sure that they are NOT going to play. I would hate to be the one to tell them they can't.

I had to tell the girl on the phone to make sure I was entered. She did not ask.

So as far as the James's, it is correct I will be in the tournament and my wife and kid with be snorkling.

(I hate the fact they automaticly use my first name)

One note, is there a way you can list where the people are from???? At least state??

I called and made my reservation over the phone with a guy named Andy. And I am not seeing mine or my wifes name on the list.

Shawn, Yeti or someone who knows....is the tournament entry fee sent separately from the cruise payment? In other words, when I register for the cruise, does the staff at the agency ask if I will be playing in the tourney? I was gonna get my money in this weekend if possible, but wasn't clear on that. Thanks

There are only 7 tournament spots remaining for the Disc Golf Cruise! (http://www.etherbinge.com/cruise.htm)
If you're hoping to get into the tournament, check out the tourney site and Call Cruiseworld Today!
If you've already registered, please check the passenger list on the tourney site and make sure that if you're planning on playing the tournament there is a "yes" next to your name on the list. If it says "no" and you want to play, please Call Cruiseworld Today!

We've contacted all the folks that have booked cabins and were all listed as "no" for the tournament to double check. Thanks Bryan for suggesting that.

The updated passenger list includes the Knapp's.

Brad, the tournament is an additional $50, be sure to let the folks at Cruiseworld know that you want that added when you call to book.

It looks like THE TOURNAMENT WILL FILL TODAY OR TOMORROW! Huge thanks to our hosts Des & Jay + Juliana & Shawn and to all that have booked a cabin!!!!!!!!! We're looking forward to the first of many Disc Golf Cruises!!!!!

Just to let everyone know...

I just booked a suite and was told my cabin is #2 on the waitlist for the tournament. Each cabin holds two spots on the waitlist. So technically my cabin reservation granted me the #3 and #4 spots on waitlist for the tournament.

Did that make sense?

You are right!! It booked fast!!!!! I can't wait!!!

To get on the waitlist, please send [email protected] an e-mail. I'll add the official waitlist to the Disc Golf Cruise Website (http://www.etherbinge.com/cruise.htm) sometime tomorrow.

Cruiseworld is still booking cabins for the group and the course will be open for casual play for up to an hour in between tournament rounds. Course scorecard, photos, and a preliminary schedule of group activities will be posted in mid-May.

The second disc golf cruise in ''07 will feature a different itinerary and may sail from Texas or Cali.

yea, usually when I say I want to play a tournament, my wife just grownes, when I told her it would be on a cruise to the Bahamas, she only asked if she had to play, as soon as I said no, she was in.

Airfair just dropped from DFW to MCO this moring. But it is still not cheap enough for me. It was only Northwest, so I think I will hold out longer. Still cheaper to drive. (although that 17 hour drive is a little longer than I would like)

That is just it, my wife use to play. She played her last tournament about 10 years ago. She was pretty good too, she could throw as far as any women out there, she could just not putt.

anyway, 2 kids and injuries stopped her from playing. She did play the ADGA Ice bowl with me a few years ago, but her shoulder hurt for a week afterwards so I have not asked her to play with me again.

Anyways, she would rather snorkle and I HATE snorkling.

I hope someone can get some footage of this breakthrough event. I'll be happy to make up a segment on the affair for Disc Golf Live. Words and still pics just don't do disc golf any justice.

Denny, will you be taking a video cam?

I like the "we bring our own course" approach. I've long thought a Jamaican tourney would be a big draw. I'd favor Negril; there are lots of places where enough land could be arranged for an event. I think one round a day, either early or late shift, too hot mid-day. Maybe nine holes early, another nine later in the day with some lounging in between. Rounds over three or four days, mid-week, allowing for different arrival times for a week's stay. Eighteen folks with portables would do the job.

Alas. Back to editing. And snow. But spring draws near!

Well we know what most of us are going to be doing in Cococay, but what about Nassau

It looks like my family will do the Pirates and Dungeons Tour - Relive the swashbuckling past on an exciting pirates and dungeons tour of fort Charlotte and the Pirates of Nassau Museum

Or you can do

Thriller Powerboat Tour - Race through Nassau Harbor on this narrated tour in a custom-built, state of the art tour boat.

or

Seawold Explorer - This fascinating, moving underwater observatory gives everyone a chance to explore the underwater wold of the Bahamas.

or

Rainbow Reef Snorkeling - Take a narrated, historical cruise across Nassau Harbor and get up close with schools of colorful tropical fish as you snokel through a marine life sanctuary

or

Sightseeing and Ardastra Gardens - Marvel at the flora and watch the famous "marching" flamingoes at Ardastra Gardens and Conservation Center

or

Glass Bottom Boat Tour - Go on a glass bottom boat tour for a glimpse into the underwater wold of the Bahamas and then snokel with stingrays at Blue Lagoon Island

or

Yellowbird Tour - Dance the calypso and sip a refreshing rum punch aboard the 85ft Yellowbird.

and those are just the ones listed in the Royal Caribbean vacation planner they sent me.

Grand Cayman Island (visited by Royal Caribian as well as several others) has a town called Hell on it.

How about a disc golf tournament in Hell :D

The problem I see with Houston/Galveston cruises is that it takes a day at see to go anywhere. (and a day to get back too) Then there are no private islands visited. But there are cruises to Key West FL, Grand Cayman Island, 2 different ports in Jamaca, Cancun, Cozymel, Belize(wasn't there an article about a course in Belize in DGWN a few issuse ago) and SEVERAL ports all down Mexico. There is even a few cruises that go to the Panama Canal.

My wife and I plan on taking a cruise next year out of Houston or Galveston. Only 4 hours away and parking.

Of course the New Orleans ports should be opened up again by next year.

My wife and I were talking about where we would like to go next year. We both agreed Belize. There are good cruises that are not too expencive out of Galveston, Houston and New Orleans.

In fact if it were not for the fact we are already going on two cruises this year, there was a deal yesterday for a 7 day cruise for $399 per person to Mexico/Belize with 4 ports visited. Of course this cruise was leaving on April 28th, but what a deal. (the cruise we take next year will be scheduled less than a month out to get a great deal)

If I remember correctly, you can't because they sell it on the ship. Same with stuff you bring on board at the ports. You have to turn it in and they will give it to you when you are about to debark. Also, when you purchase duty free on board, they hold it for you till your debark home.

Listing depends on whether the discs listed as 150 class are now overweight or not ;)

Boarding on Monday starts around noon or 1pm. On Friday it can take up to about 2 hours to disembark and make it through customs.

I'll look into more specific answers.

Thanks I would appreciate that, need to find out what time Avis car rental needs to drop us off and pick us up.

Gary to answer your question, yes you need a shuttle or car rental to get from Orlando to Port Canaveral. Car rental is cheaper. /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

It's a bit harder than it looks. The open holes are very windy and the short holes are very tight.

I bet the hot round for both cruises will be 42.

You can get round trip shuttle service for around $75. Parking is about $75 if you drive.

I have not looked it up, but usually you can board a ship at noon, however sometimes you can get on board before that.

We dock at 7:30am on Friday. Depending on your disembark order, you can get off as early as 8am. The order depends on how much you spent on your cabin and if you are a Diamond Club member. (BTW, If you want to get off real early, ask me on the ship. There is a trick you can do.)

Customs is easy. Fill out the card the night before and you will hand it to the officer. Chanses are that is it and you will walk off.

Now if you have long hair and play disc golf, they may choose to search your bags. (Maybe I should cut my hair this time)

Customs from Canada just took our card and that was it. They were not searching anyone. However on my Carribian cruise, my carry on bag was searched.

<font color="blue"> Per person </font>

I also found some shuttles that were $50.00 one way per person. Then I also was told you would have to wait till shuttle was full to leave. We are gonna rent a car and drive ourselves. /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Shoot, i will give you a ride for $50 :D:D

I found a company that charged $75 for up to 4, then more for more than four. However, I don't know if I saved the web site. As of right now I am driving. Last time I checked, parking from Monday to Friday was going to be about $75.

We are going to Disney World at least one day. Prolly on sunday the 3rd and then again on Friday the 8th or maybe the 9th.

It is a 17 hour drive. We are going to do it overnight. Taking turns driving. (we do this every year when we go to Nashville)

What car company is doing that for you????

Sounds like a good idea. If I manage to find airfare for the price I want, I would like to do something like that.

Then when we return on Friday the 8th they will pick us up at the Port and take us to our next car, then we drive back to Orlando.
