Thanks, I'll pick up the cement today. I'll bring a large cooler of water to mix in too. I think just behind the hill to the right is going to be the best spot. That way the motorcyle punks can still jump the hill.

Universal City Disc Golf Coarse has relocated hole C! It is a little closer and has Been inserted into the ground with Boulder's and cement! It is off of the hill so the biker's won't knock it down again. It will be birdied soon now!

I use a JK Aviar. It's a short hole. Snap a putter nice and high, and you'll get it there.

And Joe, all of his roller discs are behind LO #8, remember?
Since I have no knowledge of this hole, can you throw a low thumber so it skips right?
Backhand understable perhaps...Pro-D Challenger...if you have replenished your bags of rollers, of course.

Keith just dropped off the last 4 events so I should have those in the computer soon. For personal reasons I am no longer involved in the league, but will keep the stats for this year to make it easy on Keith. He has graciously stepped up to keep it going and to run the league party at Hooligans on September 30 at 7pm. I am providing tons of raffle prizes as always including a Basket donated by Chris Himing, so make sure you buy raffle tickets or Keith will lose money on this deal as I have every year.
Good luck, have fun, and treat Keith right. Bee_out.

Take Loop 337 towards New Braunfels, Go over the big bridge to Common Road take Exit right on Gruene Road, just after you cross the Guadalupe River and follow the road to Ervengerg st. turn left, go about 1/4 mile there's a red and white house on the right, just before a dirt road, stay straight dont turn take winding paved road, once on the dirt road stay to the right there is a red metal pole on the left of the enterance of the property. only 200 feet of dirt road to the entrance off of the pavement.
If this doesnt work close your eyes and click your heels three time as you say there's no place like home.

I like the idea of McClain in the rotation.
As for doubles, just do all one fee but divisional and have Pro/Am random draw doubles. Do payout and have a split of the proceeds between the teams. As for points do as follows:
1st place - Abbott and Costello - 20pts - 10 pts each
2nd place - Marx Brothers - Groucho and Harpo - 16pts - 8 pts each
3rd - Laural and Hardy - 14pts - 7 pts each
4th place - Pereida Bros :D- 12pts - 6pts each
Just a thought.
As for why Abbott and Costelo wins...well everybody knows who's on first.

I'm a big fan of pairing up a pro with an am for random draw doubles (assuming someone can figure out how to add up the points). Doubles usually goes faster, is more forgiving and more exciting. Traditionally, doubles also draws a bigger crowd for minis.

Pros and ams as doubles teams are great, as long as there are an equal number of ams and pros. Ams will learn faster playing with better players.
Keep the rule for penalizing two pros by 2 strokes or giving two ams 2 strokes when the number of players dictates that they have to pair up that way.

I was just sitting here looking over the rules for World Dubs and it hit me, it would be cool on doubles nights to add some variety and play different formats in addition to just best shot. Such as best disc, alternating, and...one night a year...worst shot.
Not preplanned, just an option for the TD to mix it up a little.
Hmmm, worst shot at McClain...I CAN DO THAT! :D

The Texas Womens Championship 2007 is April 21 & 22; we are interested in Texas club participation of this event. In the past clubs sponsored with merchandise and with man power. We want to see this continue. We want to challenge each club to send the most women from their area. We are trying to break the women only attendance record and what better place than Texas. We can use volunteers to escort, disc golf merchandise for ctps, a Texas size player packs, and anything surrounding lady golf. Something I would like to see our club sponsored girly stations. The club could pick a hole to set up a canopy with water, face wipes, candies and club hospitality towards the players.
The question is not if you are interested, but how you are interested in help.
Contact myself or Ed Coffey to work out the logistics. This is our ladies weekend. So lets honor them with our support! Let us know your ideas, we maybe the tournament directors, but the event is Texas owned.

I just wanted to see how everyone else felt about the entry fees? I feel $15.00 for Open is too much for a mini. If I play the three mini's a week, it will cost me $42.00 a week and $168.00 a month. Good thing Stacey gets off too late to play. I looked at the rules and it states $10 payout, $1 CTP, $1 Party Fund, $1 Ace Pot and $2 Club Fund. I say lower the Club fund to $1 and have the party money taken out of the Club fund at the end of the League. Maybe do away with the CTP? I think that lowers the entry fees $3. I want more people showing up to our Mini's and I think these prices will discourage new players from attending. Let's hear everyone's ideas or suggestions.

Bird, while I understand you suggestion, why take from the club or party fund, why not take from payout? I didn't make it to last years party, I know that the two previous years it cost a lot of money to do it right. Money is an issue for everyone, but if anything cut the fat in the right places. an outside opinion from someone who hasn't played a mini in a long time... and hasn't been in the local scene for a while either... I'd almost be a newbie.
I have one kid and one on the way... gas prices suck and it seems like my wallet is always empty. the price would be a huge factor when I get a chance to start playing minis again.
if it's one mini once a week it's not that big a hit... but 168$ a month... something would have to give. Are the three minis a week associated with each other or are they all different? perhaps this could be an opportunity to look at what the Central Texas Thread (http://www.pdga.com/msgboard/showflat.php?Cat=0&Board=OtherPDGATopics&Number=60 7328&fpart=&PHPSESSID=bc10c752879b386993a431224339 62b7) is trying to do but at a local level.
what are the three different minis being held now? and their fees? is it possible to come up with some strategy to lower the fee of one mini while keeping the others up... in the long run getting more people generates more money and it might workout in the end.
just some thoughts... I don't know much of what's going on out there today so take these comments at face value.

I agree the fees are too high. Even if I just played the mini league on Tuesday and Thursday, that would be $80 at least a month just for an AM. I know some of the players had trouble making the mini's last season because of funds and that was at the lower price. As far as the party fund, it could be dropped altogether as far as I am concerned. It seems the main priority is to make sure there is enough beer.

Really Jim? I don't remember you being on the party committee every year and making sure all we had was beer.... Thats not a fair comment you know it...
Those parties are not just to get drunk! It's for rewarding the best player in the league that year, it's for a that feeling of being a part of something, it's for that one am player who thought he would never get a trophy and gets best attendance ribbon or whatever!! I am not complaining and even if I would have won last night, I still think the fees are too high. I see new faces out on the courses and I tell them about our local mini's and the first thing out of their mouth is "How Much Does It Cost?". I still don't see lots of them at our mini's. I think the League Party Fund and Club Fund should be one in the same. There were around 20 players last night. That makes $20 for the League Party Fund and $40 for the Club Fund (Estimate). That's $80 a Month and $160 a Month. This money will grow eventually, let's not try to do it overnight. Even if we do take from the payout, I still say we need to consider lowering the entry fees. I am always greatful that people step up to run these events. This issue has nothing to do with that. I just think "The Club" should be able to voice their opinions or concerns. :)

Ooops, looks like I step on someones beer keg. Didn't mean to rile any feathers. I also didn't know Brian handled the arrangements for the last party. I was under the impression a few individuals had already decided where it would be and what was to be there. I also don't recall a request for volunteers. The first I heard was where it was going to be and how much beer they could get and to make sure it was available in a timely manner. I had no problem with the previous party that I know was handled by Brian and I thought it went very well. I did not attend the last one because of the impression I got from what it was going to be like. Maybe I got the wrong impression, but I felt more emphasis should have been put on using the money for more awards and drawings than on the beer. Again this was the impression I got from the talk going around, not first hand. Sorry, if I offended all the beer drinkers. You're not all drunks, but I wonder why disc golf can't improve its image more. Have a great day.

Ooops, looks like I step on someones beer keg. Didn't mean to rile any feathers. First of all you didn't step on anything....
I also didn't know Brian handled the arrangements for the last party.
You should know by now that Brian is always involved in everything we always use his ideas even till this day, even with him relocating he will always be our leader
I was under the impression a few individuals had already decided where it would be and what was to be there.
These certain individuals as you called them are the same individuals who are running the mini's and LOSO this year and if you would have been there last night you would have learned about all their new great ideas for the club, it's rewards for being a LODGA member, I think based on member's ideas. BEER WAS NEVER EVEN MENTIONED /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif But I do recall something about LOSO stuff, trophies, shirts, etc...
I also don't recall a request for volunteers. The first I heard was where it was going to be and how much beer they could get and to make sure it was available in a timely manner.
Yes, I do remember them asking me and Brian about how much money there would be for beer, but I think if I recall 2 Kegs cost them $200.00 and rest went to trophies, prizes etc... The club fund was $1,600.00 or so... Also, you should know this club is always is need of volunteers and as my opinion we as a club should never have to wait on requests for volunteer work, that should be an automatic for us to step up with out being asked... Which has advantages too, you can express your opinions, ideas and take vote on things that you might not agree on, you know all this you have volunteered plenty.
I had no problem with the previous party that I know was handled by Brian and I thought it went very well. I'm glad you enjoyed the previous parties Jim, and if you would've gone to the last one you would have seen a very beautiful outdoor river location, with great food with a very nice award ceremony, a last farewell to a good FRIEND Chris Himing and only two KEGS.. from what I heard weren't even tapped out.
Again, you didn't offend anybody, I just was very surprised with that comment you made, I have always seen you as a very easy going guy... and I know Disc Golf has a bad image, but that image was created by the 70's generation which btw created this wonderful game of ours... I think if we were playing Ball Golf then it would be a little different, my opinion anyway. I still think you are an AWESOME PERSON Jim... I admire you for playing and your great game... But again all this is just a LOLO, LOSO, LODGA PARTY COMMITTEE STAFF member's opinion :D
OOPS! forgot a BEER DRINKER :D
STILL FRIENDS? :D:cool:

I am a very easy going guy and hopefully I always will be, but if I see something I don't think is right or I don't agree with, I have been known to express my opinion. Since Brian wasn't around the last 4 weeks or so and the other individuals seemed to be making all the decisions, I just assumed wrong.
Still friends and I appreciate your input which has made me think that if I don't agree with something, maybe I shouldn't be putting my money and time into it. By the way, the 70's generation is still out there and some of them still carry that image with them, if you know what I mean.
