Yea , I didn't shoot worth a beans. I had 4- 5's and a few birdies. My total score was -1 under. I think Megan Stroh could have beat me. :eek:

There were maybe 8 Am's and 6 pro's.

The Pro's were : Donny , Jeff Nichols , Kevin Gomez , HYZERACE aka, Dave Vincent , Rhett Stroh - yes , he did play from the Pro pads !!!! And Reese Swinea.

Oh , George.................I talked with Reese about holding a last tournament at Mission Trails , before that course is pulled.

We can choose the scheduling we want , and possibly work it in conjunction with , Emerald Isle's , Sun Valley or Morley if we want. Not sure if we can work in Bayside on a weekend though.

The last Tuesday Doubles was a blast tonight. I drew Allison Wylot as a partner for like the 43rd time, and I enjoyed every throw of it again. She caught fire with her driver and putter about the mid-way point and kept the flames burning that I was able to start at the beginning of the round. We finished -8. BUT THEN.......it turns out that there were *3* -8s! I was able to eek out the win with the standard "bricks to hole 18 CTP" so we go the victory.

Yea , apparently some are still confused. I'll straighten them out. Emina Weaver was glad to hear that Emerald Isle's is still open for play. She told me she just loves that course !!!!!

I'm still a bit injured from La Mirada.

I did straighten out ALOT of misunderstandings , folks had , about Emerald Isle's.

Emerald Isles's is OPEN for play , year around and is a MUST stop ,when playing Disc Golf in San Diego county.

I also let folks know , Mission Trails is in fact , closing October 3rd. Reese was able to entend this time a bit longer , than the original October 1st date.

There WILL be a final Farewell Tournament , this weekend , September 25th.

Folks and all players are instructed to call Reese directly at 714-235-0100 for more exact TEE times , directions.

I'm going to help Reese with this last tournament there and I'll will try and come up to Emerald Isle's !!!!!!

The PGA Tour's fine system

What are the no-nos on the PGA Tour, and what happens when a player violates one of them? The following details are from the "PGA Tour Player Handbook and Tournament Regulations" for 2004:

VIOLATIONS

Any player who violates the provisions of this paragraph shall be subject to a suspension from tournament play for a minimum period of two years. A player should not do any of the following:

1. Fail to give his best efforts in competition.

2. Gamble or play cards on the premises where a PGA Tour cosponsored or coordinated tournament is being played.

3. Associate with or have dealings with persons whose activities, including gambling, might reflect adversely upon the integrity of the game of golf.

4. Bet money or anything of value on a golf tournament or similar event, whether or not the player is in such competition.

5. Offer or give a bribe, gift, payment, reward or anything of value to any player with the intention of influencing his efforts in a competition.

6. Solicit, agree to accept or accept a bribe, gift, payment, reward or anything of value offered or given with the intention of influencing the player's efforts in a competition.

7. Fail to report promptly to the commissioner any known or suspected offer, bribe, gift, payment, reward or anything of value or any agreement or acceptance of bet described in the foregoing.

APPEARANCE/CONDUCT

While on the host facility property during official practice and tournament round days:

1) Players shall present a neat appearance in both clothing and personal grooming. Blue jeans, shorts or T-shirts shall not be worn.

2) Caddies may wear either long pants or tailored knee-length shorts. Blue jeans, cutoffs, T-shirts or tank tops shall not be worn. Smooth rubber sole shoes are required. Golf shoes with metal or soft spikes are prohibited.

3) Players must attempt to be competitive and must conduct themselves in a professional manner.

4) Consumption of alcoholic beverages on the competition course or designated practice areas by players or caddies is conduct unbecoming a professional. Players or caddies found to be using or selling illegal substances or using alcohol in an abusive manner shall be considered to have engaged in conduct unbecoming a professional.

5) Players must accept responsibility for the conduct of his caddie. A caddie who conducts himself in an unbecoming manner could result in the removal of the player from the competition.

PGA TOUR reserves the right to remove a player from the competition for non-competitiveness or unbecoming conduct.

PENALTIES

Penalties for "conduct unbecoming a professional," which includes profanity:

1. Minor penalties. A minor penalty is a fine of not more than $2,500.

2. Intermediate penalties. An intermediate penalty is a fine between $2,501 and $5,000 and/or suspension from play for not more than three tournaments including the tournament then in progress or scheduled for the calendar week in which the alleged violation occurred.

3. Major penalties. A major penalty is a fine in excess of $5,000, suspension from tournament play for more than three tournaments and/or permanent disbarment from play in PGA Tour cosponsored or coordinated events. A major penalty may be imposed only by the commissioner except as otherwise specified in these regulations.

Rizbee Jr. almost had his first-ever ace! Hole #9 right pin position from the front tee - his laser-like Valk hit the basket dead center, but 4-5 inches below the lip. That was moments after he got hit in the foot by an errant golf ball. :eek:

It was good to get out and play again after my back injury - hope to see more folks at doubles in the future.

Really liked the new pin positions on 8 and 11. It makes them completely different holes, and makes both considerably tougher. We didn't play the new pin on 4, but it looks like a solid change also.

Now I need to build up my stock of glow plastic - all I have are Midnight Flyers...

When I spoke with Skip on Sunday he mentioned that he is working on setting up some dates for night golf. The number of holes available would be limited somewhat (1-4, 15-18 probably) because of the neighborhood issues, but with alternate pins you could still have quite a few unique holes.

With glow plastic, new moon is better becasue the darker it is the easier it is to find your faintly glowing disc.

With the LED bobber lights, I don't think it matters. :)

But with the new moon isn't it more difficult to see the obstacles, or to see where to walk? I'd hate to tumble into a lake in the dark...

Doubles today was played on all Discatcher targets! The old white baskets have all gone bye-bye. The new baskets make for a very pleasant putting experience.

I really liked the white baskets.

Once the little cables were removed, they caught pretty much the same as a Discatcher, but many many people had mental problems dealing with a basket that looked different.

Oh well.

Or change the chain configuration from 3o chain to 2o chain standard.

Well...the pin settings and baskets have been knocked out, and we only have a few tee pads to change, and then the course will be completely upgraded. If anybody has some time this afternoon, there will be a group of us out there...Has anyone shot -10 yet?

So when they got to the green we threw, I made it to the second cut, right where one of the was standing. They looked mad, but whatever. We waited for them to putt out, and then we putted out. I asked if we could play through and 2 said sure, but the guy who I almost nailed before was hesitant, and then agreed. BLAM! I aced and they all saw it and started trippin' and asked all types of questions about disc golf. That should be 3 more comin to check out disc golf.

This is certainly one of the finest DG facilities in Kali, and/or elsewhere.

....but if you don't want to be challenged, it's not the place to go. Those greens seemed to dominate the 'prefered' approaches of this Advanced Novice International Grandmaster....and I played 3 from the chicken Tees, both rounds. :o

I did feel enough in-a-groove to attempt 16L [r], and hit metal. :)

....aside from the two birdies, the highlights of the trip were seeing a Conejo rolling on-it's-back in joy , and using the Rake whilst exiting the Sandtrap....albeit [i]once too often, but it was an opportunity I've waited lifetimes for.... :cool:

Hey Scot , how many teepads are you regradeing ? Where Is the pin placement on hole # 17 ?

im not sure exactly how many have to be regraded, but any that have lumps or depressions will be done. also theres a few that are not set level (ex: hole 4), so those as well. skip and i are going to get a few done this afternoon and evaluate the rest. the new pin placement on 17 will be back further up the hill from the straight/right position. should be cool, maybe more danger of roll outs?

Hey Scot , have the lakes filled up since Friday ?

The lakes are all near capacity, and will be full after the storm coming on Friday. There was a lot of work done today; tee pads leveled, new pads installed, landscaping, etc. If you're playing in the tournament this Saturday and haven't been to EI in the last few weeks, you should come check out the changes. If you don't come up beforehand, you'll be able to see all the right routes...from the back of the pad :DThere will also be a round of night golf on Friday 3/17.

lakes still more than a meter short of the stakes though, so no effect on play, except for shanks sleeping with the fish...

Let's all do whatever we do, like pray or dance or whatever, and do it for "no rain"!

I didn't notice a rise while playing, but yesterday they were near capacity. I would bet they are completely full now. I did play 10 with its raging river for the first time, that was cool.

Took me 2 hours to drive up 5 through the accidents. People should really leave the 360 moves to skateboarders.

I'm kinda stuck in San Diego till 4:00 today.
I'm going to play a match play with Mike Cloyes from Las Vegas today.
I'll ask him , if there is enough time , to roll up to Oceanside. He wants to also play Sun Valley.
