well when I'm playing I have to believe I'm the best player at the table - same way I approach disc golf - I'm a firm believer that if you approach something knowing someone is better than you or you're not going to do this or that, then you'll lose....

But when I sit at my computer and read the discussion board about who I think is better at disc golf and poker etc, it's pretty easy to say who I know is better than me.

I would have won IF I could make it. I won 3 out of 4 Poker tourney's while I was down in Florida, One with 16 people and the other 2 with 8 each. I am makin money in everything I do. That is TTrim.

And when I was in Florida I won 2 out of 3 against Carolinians. I would certainly win in a house full of them.

Only cause I was not one of those Carolinians.

17 playas, that is a good turnout. When was it over? Unfortunately I had to work late, and then celebrate with a few graduates, and come in today with a nice hangover, an hour and a half late.

Blinds went like this:
10-20
25-50
50-100

and doubled thereafter. We stopped blinds when they got to
800-1600 and kept them at 500-1000 until heads up play. A 1600 blind was enough to put a few people all in just to call. During heads up they were at 1000-2000. The game went pretty fast and ended around 10:30ish. The good thing about it, 9 people stayed for the second $5 game and I think there was even a third game after I left.

Any feedback for the new blind system? I suggest we do the same thing(double until 400-800) next time, but stop it at 500-1000 until everyone left cashes. Then raise the blinds everytime someone is eliminated. Should work out well if we start with 2000 in chips again.

Y'all know I stayed until the cards stopped flowing.... was a rare night for me in that I left with less cash than I arrived with... five visits to the TTowers and four times in the money one way or another- I was out in all three games last night and I'm still up overall. Tizzle, in reviewing the posts here and elsewhere, and the hazy memory I have of wed nights, I am left with one question.
Where and when, and maybe more importantly, who decided that you were somehow a "good poker player"?
It seems to me that you define the quality of play by your own successes, i.e. if you get a bad beat then the person is a "bad player". The very essence of poker is that it invloves incomplete information and as such does not allow one deductive conclusions. Thats why they call it gambling, its not a science. Perhaps you should move over to chess. In chess there are no bad beats, but you can get your [I'm a potty-mouth!] handed to you.

I am presently stuck in a "fancy but crappy" hotel in Nags Head for work related duties this week (although it does have superfast wireless internet and a glorious view of the moon on the ocean). Have possibly wrangled my old poker crew for a game Thursday eve so watch out kids. I'll be back next week with ... the same old play that loses me $. Each of the only two weeks I was there got drinks spilled all over my section of the table...that's just rude! **** alcohol abusers. Just one day left until the biggest poker event of the year!!! You thought the World Series of Poker was big...we are gonna make them look like a D-tier in Northern Idaho.
